Andy let out a big yawn as he leant back in his chair and raised his arms above his head to stretch out his back. He glanced at his watch to see it was almost lunch time yet it felt like 5 pm. He’d stayed up late last night to work through the evidence for this case, something he was slightly regretting now. But if it meant the victim got the justice they deserved then a little lack of sleep would be worth it, he’d sleep when it was over.
He grabbed his mug from the desk taking a large sip of his coffee which he may as well just pump straight into his veins at this point when there was a knock at his door. “Come in” he called out as he set his mug back down.
Lynn, his boss walked in holding a folder “I’m guessing you didn’t get much sleep last night?” she said knowingly, brow ached.
Andy gave her a lop-sided smile “Sleep is for the weak, what can I do for you? Is that another case?” he asked nodding to the file.
“No, I’m just here to let you know the new ADA will be joining you on this case, it’s gathering more and more media attention so I want my best team on it and I don’t want you working yourself to death on it” Lynn explained with a knowing look.
Andy arched a brow in confusion, he didn’t realise they were looking for another ADA, let alone hired one “new ADA?”
Lynn nodded “Just transferred from New York, they’re very good with a record that rivals yours”
Andy hummed “Well that’s good but I don’t need the help on this case, I’ve got it covered,” he said with a shake of his head.
“This wasn’t a request” Lynn said as someone else knocked on Andy’s door “That’s her” Lynn moved back towards the door before Andy could protest.
Any protests he did have though died in his throat when he saw exactly who the new ADA was. It was like seeing a ghost and falling back into a time wormhole all at the same time.
“Y/N,” he said before he even realised he was speaking, shooting up from his seat like he’d been electrocuted nearly knocking over his coffee.
“Andy, long time no see” You smiled warmly back at him.
Andy grinned back at you as he stepped out from behind his desk to walk over to you. He instinctively went to hug you but it had been over a decade since he’d seen you which made him hesitate.
He stopped just short of you instead and pushed his hands into his pockets to stop himself from reaching out  “You could say that again”
“You two know each other?” Lynn asked, brow arched.
“We went to law school together” you explained, still smiling at Andy, not looking back at Lynn.
“Yeah Y/N was my only competition for the top of the class” Andy smirked unable to take his eyes off you.
“There was no real competition though” you chuckled with a knowing look up at Andy.
“I guess that’s why you ended up being a big shot lawyer in New York” Andy grinned.
Andy couldn’t believe you were here. When you parted ways at the end of law school he didn’t expect to ever run into you again and it killed him. You had been his best friend, he honestly didn’t think he’d gotten through law school if it wasn’t for you. You pushed each other to do better, creating a healthy competition which neither of you cared about winning.
After spending so much time together it was only natural that Andy developed feelings for you but law school was so intense that you’d both said that dating anyone would be a dangerous distraction. So Andy kept his feelings hidden and buried in the hopes that once you graduated he could confess his feelings.
Fate was a cruel thing though as when you graduated you landed a big job in New York while Andy decided to stay in Boston. Andy had selfishly wanted to ask you to stay but he knew he couldn’t let you pass up this opportunity for just him. So he once again buried his feelings and let you go.
The relationship he wanted with you remained in his mind. Over the years he tried to move on, he had partners but none of them captured his heart like you did. They were doomed from the start. Every time he thought he was over you, your name would appear on the news after winning another major case and he’d slip back into that maze that was his mental relationship with you. He wasn’t ashamed to admit that on his loneliest nights, he would often picture himself with you, his desire crashing over him like waves.
When it came to you, he was guilty as sin.
“Well I’ll let you catch Y/N up on the case once you two finish catching up,” Lynn said with a pointed look “I hope this means no one will be staying up late on this case anymore”
You shrugged your shoulders “Sleep is for the weak”
Lynn rolled her eyes as she walked out muttering “I’ve got two of them now”
Both you and Andy laughed “Let me get you caught up” Andy said gesturing for you to take a seat.
Tumblr media
Despite Lynn’s wishes you and Andy did end up working into the evenings together. But it was mostly because you were spending too much time catching up and acting like it was old times again. Currently, you were at Andy’s house pouring over the evidence while dining out on Chinese takeout.
“So how come you decided to come back here? Getting too famous in New York?” Andy smirked as he dug through his chow mein.
You snorted leaning back in your chair, you shook your head “No… I mean was I well known? Maybe” you smirked  “But that wasn’t the reason” Andy arched a brow in silent question “I wanted to become a lawyer to get the little guys justice, help victims, but in New York, I just ended up doing loads of fraud and corporate based crimes” you explained “I mean it felt good to take down these big rich guys who thought they were untouchable but it didn’t feel like I was actually helping the little guy” you sighed “I asked my boss for those sort of jobs but he said I was better suited to these corporate cases and I should leave the other cases to those who wouldn’t get emotionally invested AKA the men”
Andy frowned “That’s bullshit” he said, he didn’t even know who your old boss was but the anger he felt made him want to hunt him down and give him a piece of his mind.
You shrugged “Yeah so I handed in my notice and looked to transfer back here” you said with a small lopsided smile.
Andy pursed his lips, ever since you walked back into his life he wondered why you had chosen to come back. He hoped that he was at least part of the reason. He’d put off asking you for so long that it was impossible not to ask now.
He plastered a smirk onto his face “Did you miss me?”
You chuckled quietly “I did actually” you admitted before taking a deep breath “It kinda felt like this was the place I needed to come back to”
Andy nodded, looking down at his food to hide the hope that was blossoming on his face “Well this place is definitely better with you in it”
You snorted shaking your head “Nah I bet you found someone else to compete with” you smirked.
Andy shook his head “There’s Neil, stay away from him by the way” he pointed over to you with his chopsticks “but he’s pretty lousy competition, even after I taught him everything I knew”
You chuckled “Noted,” you said before pausing for a moment “but there’s no one else? No… Mrs Barber to be that you’ve yet to introduce me to”
Andy shook his head “Nope, just me myself and I” he told you.
You arched a brow “I’m surprised. I thought you’d have girls fawning over you once law school was over” you admitted.
Andy gave you a bashful smile “No, I mean I’ve dated but nothing that’s stuck… guess I’ve been holding out for something, someone else” Andy admitted quietly hoping you didn’t pick up on the hidden meaning.
You just nodded understandingly “it’s been the same for me, except the thing I’m holding out for has only ever happened in my head”
Andy’s brows pinched together “What do you mean?” he asked.
You let out a long sigh as you put your container back down on the table and cleared your throat “Well this confession wasn’t one I was planning to make before drinking copious amounts of alcohol but I guess there’s no time like the present” you sighed “I had a massive crush on you in law school and I was kinda hoping that once we graduated that something would happen”
Andy blinked in surprise, his lips parted as he took in that information and tried to make sense of it “But- but when you got the job offer you said there was nothing keeping you in Boston” Andy recalled.
It was a painful memory that he wished he could forget but never could. He regularly went back and wondered what he could have said differently to change your mind only to decide that he didn’t want to change your mind.
You huffed quietly “I think I was just protecting myself by lying… and part of me, well part of me hoped that you’d say you were a reason to stay” you admitted.
Andy sat back in his chair in shock. You had wanted him to say what he’d wanted to say. All of this time you both wanted the same thing and neither of you was brave enough to say it.
“I wanted to” he admitted quietly.
Your brows rose slightly in surprise “You did? Your voice was full of disbelief “Why didn’t you?”
Andy sighed “Because I didn’t want to be the reason you missed out on a great opportunity, I didn’t want to you regret it years down the line and hate me for it”
“My only regret is not having you” you said quietly.
Andy put his food down as he stood up from his chair and walked around the table to crouch down next to you “Well… you can have me now if you still want me because I’ve been in love with you ever since you wiped the floor with me first week of law school” he smirked.
You laughed as you recalled that day “I promise my flirting technique has improved since then”
Andy laughed and shook his wondering how on earth you both were so blind all this time “So do you want me?” he asked.
You nibbled your lower lip and nodded your head “I’ve always wanted you Barber”
Andy grinned as he cupped your cheek and kissed you deeply and passionately to make up for all the years wasted. Still not quite believing how the one who got away became the one who almost got away.

Helping Hand 5
Warnings: non/dubcon, mentions of divorce, and other dark elements. My username actually says you never asked for any of this.
Characters: Jonathan Pine, 40s reader
My warnings are not exhaustive but be aware this is a dark fic and may include potentially triggering topics. Please use your common sense when consuming content. I am not responsible for your decisions.
As usual, I would appreciate any and all feedback. I’m happy to once more go on this adventure with all of you! Thank you in advance for your comments and for reblogging.
Tumblr media
Most mornings are difficult but that one is particularly treacherous. The dull throb in your shoulder stiffens your neck. Your body overcompensates for the agitated muscle, tense not only from the unceremonious wrench of your arm the night before but the stress needling along your spine.
Your midday shift gives you little time to get yourself together. Simply pulling on the pale blue uniform shirt is enough to make you grunt. You'll ask to stay on the till, you just hope Giselle can find some pity for you. And how pitiful you are.
You're early for the bus. Once bitten, twice shy or however it goes. You find your way on but are left to stand, bracing the pole and jerked with each turn and stop.
By the time you get to the store, your muscles are burning, so much so, you feel the ache in your fingertips. You approach Giselle after clocking in and ask if you can cover cash for a while. Her answer is an expected 'go walk the floor'. Well, you can handle that as long as there's no heavy lifting.
You wander, stopping to point people in the direction of their quarry. You sue your unencumbered arm to fix a few messes but nothing excessive. The muscle tugs in your neck and has you rolling your head in an effort to loosen the knot. You go to the shelf of Young Adult Literature and look over the glossy spines. What a disaster.
You step closer and set to carefully rearranging a few titles back to their home. One arm, a bit clumsy, but a distraction from the pain. As you back up to look over your work, you feel a gentle squeeze on your shoulder that makes you whine. You recoil and spin to face the man who apologise at your collision.
"Sorry, I wasn't meaning to frighten--" Jonathan begins as you reach to clutch your arm, unable to withhold the pained cringe gnashing between your teeth, "oh, dear, are you alright? I've hurt you."
"No, no," you wave him off, tearing your hand away, "I just pulled a muscle."
"Oh, my, perhaps you would be better at the counter," he suggests.
"Too many people over there," you shrug, only to wince again and squeak. Oh, it's bad.
Goddammit, Andrew. If he'd just let you go inside...
"Nonsense, you might switch out and--"
"I appreciate it, Mr. Pine," you say, "but I don't need people thinking you're doing me some favour or that I can't do the work."
"What? Who would think that?"
You glance away and swallow your irritation, "no one. I just... I want to carry my own weight."
"Well, darling, sometimes it alright to let others carry the load," he insists.
"I've done that. It doesn't work. It just end in--" You stop yourself, "it doesn't matter. I'm at work, I just need to suck it up."
"At work. And as your employer, it is my job to accommodate you," he counters. You clamp your lips tight and bite down at how he easily reminds you of his authority, wielding it as an unavoidable dagger. "You should go home and take a hot bath. Let your body recover."
"That's very thoughtful but I can manage," you try to keep the edge from your voice, "I have advil in my bag--"
"You will go home and make sure you are better--"
"Look," you put a hand up to keep yourself from snapping. Between him and Andy, you just feel like you can't breathe. And you hate that you can only meet his kindness with frustration, "I can't afford to do that. It's a pulled muscle. There's worse."
"I can understand that you would rather be here. I can't imagine dealing with an ex like that man--"
"And that is none of your business," you snip without thinking and immediately cover your mouth. You close your eyes and take a break, peeling your fingers away, "I'm very sorry, sir. I guess if you want me to go, it is ultimately your decision. It's your store."
He lowers his chin and pushes back his jacket, slipping his hand in his pocket. He slowly raises his head again, "this is what I meant when things change. I'm not Mr. Pine, I'm not sir, I'm Jonathan. I'm just looking out for you."
"You have twenty other employees in here right now," you sniff, "I'm not going to file a complaint about a muscle I tore outside work, so you don't need to do all that."
"This isn't about--" He sighs, "let me just stop myself before I cross any more lines. If you will not go home, you will accept accommodation."
You look over to the counter, barely able to see past the queue of people. You suppose there's room enough there. Jonathan steps into the line of your sight, "this way."
"What?" You shake your head as he gestures towards the back of the store.
"Come on, let's accommodate you," he points more tersely.
You bend your arm, cradling it with your hand to take the weight off. Just walking makes the blade ache. He follows you, directing you from behind. He points you left of the stock room and into the back office. Oh god, he's going to write you up.
He reaches around to key in the doorcode and twists the handle, crowding you slightly before you can step inside. You go in and he follows just as swiftly.
"Sit," he orders.
You don't argue. You've already walked onto thin ice. He goes around the desk as you sit in the metal framed chair. He opens a drawer and pulls out a thick binder. He drops it on the desk and it bangs loudly. He tuts and jabs his thumb through the air.
"Not there, here," he waggles his finger at the cushier chair on the other side, "you will sit and read SOPs for the rest of your shift. No heavy lifting."
"What? I... I can't--"
"You will be paid. It's an easy load. You do love reading," he crosses his arm. His tone is cutting and sends a shiver through you.
You get up and circle the desk, sitting lightly on the seat. He gets behind you and rolls the chair close. You hunch as he bends over you and flips open the cover of the binder. His cologne wafts around you before he draws back.
"And there we are. A happy compromise," he declares as he strides to the door, "be certain that I will hear if you take step outside these walls before your break."
You say nothing. You look down as you let your arm rest in your lap. You bring your other up and place your finger under the first line of policy. You bend your head and tamp down your discomfort. Andy's right about you. You always find a reason to be unhappy.

Bunnies Behaving Badly
Tumblr media
Summary: When you and your girls decide to attend a Halloween Party for charity, you accidentally forget to share a few important specifics with your men. Featuring Andy Barber, Ari Levinson, & Curtis Everett
Warnings: Shenanigans, Hot Men, Possessive & Andy/Ari/Curtis, Bratty Reader, Bratty OFCs, Skimpy Outfits, Alcohol Consumption, Cursing, Violence (mentioned), Smut, Punishments (mentioned), Vibrator, Ball Gag, Belt Spanking (mentioned), Anal Sex, Daddy!Kink, Orgasm Denial (mentioned), Minors DNI
A/N: First, thanks to everyone who sent or posted messages of support. I appreciate them and you. I’ve since gone off to start getting some professional help for what’s happening with both my mind and body. So yeah, I’m in the hospital again, but it’s okay. Anyways, this story includes appearances from Ari and Curtis. Hope you enjoy the randomness. Please send your feedback. Not beta’d. All mistakes my own.
Tumblr media
You stood in the mirror finishing the final touches on your, erm, Halloween costume for tonight’s big charity event. You had initially been roped into going by your girls, Ruby and Story.
Ruby was married to Andy’s friend Curtis, while Story was dating his other longtime friend, Ari. While you didn’t know either man super well, they had always seemed nice enough. Maybe a little on dark and broody side.
But to be fair, your Andy Bear wasn’t exactly Mr. Happy-Go-Lucky all the time either.
While they supported your charitable efforts with their own respective donations, you were thankful that they were unable to attend due to a standing poker game that they just could not miss.
It’s not that you wouldn’t miss them, oh no. It was more like they wouldn’t be a fan of their chosen ensembles: sinful, sexy bunnies.
In fact, you were certain that your man would hit the fucking roof if even got a hint of what you we’re rocking under your trench coat. Which is exactly why you had encouraged Ruby and Story to bring a change of clothes with them.
Because if your sweet, loving Andy Barber ever saw your outfit…he’d have an aneurysm on the spot. As would Curtis and Ari.
Because their ladies had bought matching outfits in different colors. Ruby’s was black, while Story had chosen red.
If you were being honest, your outfit was a more than a little outside your comfort zone. But oh well. You worked hard for your body, so why not show it off?
After all, you only lived once right? Your phone buzzes, letting you know that your friends were five minutes away. You spritz on some perfume, throw your heels into your bag, and take off down the stairs.
Sucking in a nervous breath you slip into your man’s study to quickly kiss him goodbye. He holds up a finger, telling you wait for him to wrap up his call.
Your Andy was big on proper goodbyes between you too. And he became exceptionally grumpy when he didn’t his way. So you blow him another case and race for the door.
You’re halfway down the front steps when your boyfriend wrenches open the front door. “Hey! Come back here, sweetheart! I need my kisses damn it!” He growls into the night air.
“We’re already late, baby!” You call back it him. “You’ll have to settle for ‘em later. I love you!” You tell him before throwing yourself in the backseat of Ruby’s vehicle.
“Drive girls, before my man comes down here.”
You watch as your boyfriend glares at the car, his arms folded over his chest, as you take off into the darkness.
Tumblr media
“Oh, my God!” Ruby exhales as winds her way down a curvy dark road. “Do you ladies know how hard it was to get out of the house without Curtis going through my stuff? I had to show him my back-up outfit to get him to calm down!” She runs a hand through her caramel colored locks.
You and Story let out a collective groan.
“At least you didn’t have to blow your man in order distract him long enough to let you dip out of the house. I had to literally suck the soul out of his giant body, leave him in a daze, and then slip away.” She ruffles her deep red curls.
“Well, I got lucky. Andy was on the phone. So I gave him a smooch goodbye and flew out of there. Whew, talk about timing!” You smooth your hands over your pinned-up blue black curls. “By the way, nice hair, Story. Love the look, babe.”
“Thanks, boo. My man wasn’t a fan at first, but as soon as he saw what I was rocking underneath - he was on his knees for me so fast.”
You all giggle, before shifting topics. This wouldn’t be your typical Halloween party, and not just because it was for charity. The invitation had encouraged attendees to wear outfits that were a little on the skimpy side. However, the invite also came with a set of rules, a drink limit, and a promise that disrespect of any kind would not be tolerated.
All good things.
Regardless, you hadn’t even bothered showing it to Andy. He would have snatched it from you, ripped it up, and tossed it in the garbage.
Once you the and girls arrive, you make the necessary changes to our outfits right there in the car. You help each other with makeup, you pull on stilettos, and then you fluff your bunny ears just right.
Damn you all looked good.
You pay your $50 fee and then enter the party. The three of you take in the overall vibe. So far, so good.
The decorations were just the right amount of “spooky” - you’re talking suspicious looking cobwebs, demented looking pumpkins, and eerie life-sized ghouls, zombies, hellhounds, wraiths, changelings, banshees…and more.
Boy, whoever had come with must have been a huge fan of Supernatural…
“Wow.” Story whistles beside you as you make your way to the bar. “Can you believe some of these looks?”
“And I thought ours would be scandalous.” Your other friend murmurs as she struggles to yank her tight, short skirt down to cover her ass.
You lean down to rest arm on the bar, accidentally highlighting your ample cleavage in the process. If your boyfriend had seen you do that, he would’ve thrown his suit jacket over your shoulders and tied the sleeves around your tiny body.
The thought makes you giggle.
“Can we please get, uh, three Witches' Hearts cocktails? They look yummy.” Ruby all but purrs.
“Any thing for you three beautiful bunnies.” You go to pay for the first round but he waves you off.
“It’s on me, you sweet, sexy creatures. Made ‘em extra strong too.” The handsome blonde winks you. “Enjoy.”
The three of you walk around for a while, aimlessly chatting with the people you recognize. Sometimes taking pictures with slutty nurses, naughty witches and warlocks - and a super sexy alien. Yeah, he might have been covered head to toe in sparking green paint, but it was something about his gray eyes and that Greek-god-like build…
As soon as he walks away, you make a show of fanning yourself.
“I call dibs on Lord Zultar over there if ever dump Ari.” She giggles behind her hand. “Oh, who am I kidding? That oversized neanderthal would never let me go.”
“He’d probably handcuff you to him,” Ruby agrees. “I know Curtis threatens to do that to me all of the time.” She finishes with a shrug.
“And my sweet Andy threatens to tie me to the bed anytime he feels like I’m being a brat. It’s all very romantic.” You roll your eyes. “We’re dating a bunch of fucking ogres.”
“Yep - with no hope of escape.” Story mumbles. “We need more drinks!” So back to the bar you go.
This time, that same good looking bartender suggests you try the Black Magic Margaritas, which you do.
Delicious!
You decide to sit and chat amongst yourselves, and sometimes even with Chad, the bartender, when he’s not busy serving other customers.
“Oh, girls!” Ruby exclaims as she peruses the menu. “It’s time for shots. Let do the Wolf's Bane. Hey Chad, you gotta taken one with us too!”
“It would be my pleasure, gorgeous. You pretty ladies just made my whole night!” Chad gets to work, mixing melon and pineapple liquors together, before adding absinthe and a splash of grenadine. He then gives the tumblr a good shake before pouring them in four tall shot glasses.
“Alright, ladies -”
“Wait! Hold on.” You jump on the bar and prompt your friends to do that same. “We need pictures! Story your phone is better than mine.”
With a nod, she hands off her phone to a shimmering siren who agrees to take a couple pics for you.
The first picture is of you and the girls leaning in pretending to kiss Chad, who is smiling from ear to ear. And the next is one of the four of you tossing back your shots. And the third and final one shows you kicking your legs up and smiling like idiots.
Eventually you hop down and order one more drink.
The Corpse Reviver.
The only thing left to really wait for were the results of the Silent Auction. You hadn’t seen much that you were interested in, but you’d bid on a few things anyway.
You and your girls find an open table where you sit and enjoy your cocktails. They were strong, but good. You’d have to go find some food soon.
“Story?” Ruby suddenly asks after she notices the woman quickly tapping away at her phone. “What are you doing?”
“Posting those cute pics to Instagram.”
“No!” You and Ruby shout, each attempting to snatch for her phone. “The guys might see them and - ”
“Oh, hush!” Story waves away your concerns. “None of our guys have social media. Especially not Ari. They will never know.” She throws an arm around each of your necks smacks an affectionate kiss on your cheeks.
“Now, I say we’ve grab one more drink and bounce. Back to the bar bitches!”
Tumblr media
Back at Andy’s Place
“I fold.” Andrew mutters, throwing his cards down on the table. “I need to stop playing with a bunch of fucking cheaters.” He glares at his two friends.
“He always like this?” Ari snickers before polishing off his beer.
“What? A little bitch?” Curtis finishes off his drink as well and then belches. “Uh yeah. Ever since I’ve known him.” He runs a hand over his short, dark buzz cut.
“Whatever. Fucking asshats.” Andy takes a bite of cold pizza. “Are we picking up the girls tonight?”
“I think we should. Hate the idea of them being drunk and taking an Uber with some strange fuck. Ruby and I can just go grab her car tomorrow.”
“Fine by me.” Ari agrees, dragging his hands through his long, light brown locks. He rises from the table and grabs his keys. “I’m sure our resident Sweet Andy won’t mind cleaning up this mess.” He says before flashing him a teasing grin.
“Oh, I don’t mind at all, Sunshine Bear.” Andy watches as the other man quickly frowns.
“Jesus fucking Chris, you are both so fucking ridiculous.” Curtis scrubs a hand over his eyes. “Can we just go already?”
“Sure thing, Baby Boo.” Andy and Ari high-five. Meanwhile, Curtis simply rolls his eyes and walks out the door.
Tumblr media
Twenty Minutes Later…
You and the girls are in the middle of polishing off your last drink, something called Death in the Afternoon, when Ruby freezes next to you.
“Umm…umm…” That’s when you and Story finally take note of the panic in her voice.
“What? What is it you whisper?” Your eyes scan the room and then you see it. And by it you mean them.
“Shit! Everyone get down!
The three of your hurriedly duck underneath the table. Silently praying that you had suddenly harnessed the power of invisibility.
Maybe you could sneak out of here without them noticing you. Maybe you could…
You and your girls watch in horror as your men approach the bar. And then you see Chad, the bartender, point in the direction of your table.
Oh fuck. Oh fuck. Oh fuck.
Giving him a nod, your large, strapping men come striding over to you.
“Hi ladies.” Andy greets you all. “Me and these losers decided we’d be better off picking you girls up instead of trusting your safety with some random Uber. Ready to go?”
Ari coughs and then does a spin, taking in all of the decorations and whatnot. “I might have come with you next time, my little sprite.” He flashes her smile.
Curtis stares you all down. “Hey, Rubaloo, why are you three hiding under the table?” His big arms go across his chest. “It’s time to go home.”
“But my car…” She whines.
“Will be picked up tomorrow.” He growls softly.
“Could you three, uh maybe turn around and close your eyes for a couple seconds. We - we have a surprise for you…” You offer them all nervous smile.
“No.” They hiss, looking suspicious.
You, Story, and Ruby share a quick look. It was time to accept your fate. So you stand up and chug the rest of your cocktails. And then you push past your men and scamper towards the exit to grab your trench coats and hightail it to the car.
Going against your better judgement you look back to see all three men still standing by your former table. Not one of them moving a muscle.
“Please tell me you have your keys, girl.” Story hisses at Ruby. “We’re gonna need a head start.”
“Yeah, I do. And believe me, I don’t want to get murdered in a parking either, but I’m too drunk to drive!” Her hands go to tug at her hair.
They each turn their attention to you, only to wilt when you shake your head. “Same boat, ladies.”
A moment later, your men exit the bar. Their respective faces appear hard and unreadable.
“Ari, baby. My Sunshine Bear. I can explain, okay?” Story whispers as she chews on her thumb.
“And I can’t wait to hear your explanations, my little sprite. Your paddle is like truth serum for you. Now, say goodbye to your friends and get in the fucking car.”
With a whimper, she waves at you and climbs in.
“Sir isn’t happy with you right now, Rubaloo. You know better than to wear something like this without permission. Now get in the car and please, not a word from you until we get home.”
Ruby nods at you and disappears into the front seat.
Which leaves just you and Andy…
Without a word you hop in the car, put on your seatbelt, and bury your face in your hands. Andy exchanges a few more words with the other men before joining you.
When you finally reach your own home and pull in the garage, he lets out a deep sigh. “Go upstairs to our bedroom and place your nose in the corner, young lady.”
As soon as you're out of the car and inside, his big hand goes down to fist his own painful erection. When he’d seen you, his little baby girl, dressed to nines in that skimpy, pink poor excuse of a costume…
He'd been torn between hauling you over his shoulder and dragging you to the nearest bathroom to fuck your brains out, or beating the shit out of every man in that room with the exception of Curtis and Ari.
After closing the garage, he enters the house and takes time climbing the stairs. Once he’s in his room, he sees you facing the corner as you'd been instructed.
Content to leave his naughty little bunny there for a little while longer, he goes to fetch your punishment box out of the closet. Andy smiles when he pulls out a pink ball gag.
Oh, how fitting.
“Come here, baby.”
“Andy...” Comes your pitiful sniffle. “Daddy, I swear we didn’t do anything except have a little fun. Nothing inappropriate -”
He levels you with a fierce glare. “I’m sorry, but your outfit…ugh…all three of your outfits were entirely inappropriate. You don’t wear something like, like this -” He angrily gestures at you.
“Especially without your man around. So now Daddy has to teach his baby a very important lesson.”
That's the absolute last thing you wanted to hear.
“Go grab Daddy’s favorite belt.”
When you re-emerge holding Andy’s thick, black belt, you see that’s there’s a ball gag and one of your favorite vibrators sitting on the bed. Shivering you hand him the belt and then he motions for you to lie on your back.
“Leave ‘em on baby girl. All of it. Outfit, ears, and heels.” Andy’s tone is hard and unyielding. “Now lie on your back and spread your legs for your man. Good girl.”
He slaps your pussy before drizzling lube on the vibrator. Pulling the crotch of your outfit aside, he works the toy inside of your little pussy and turns it on. Wiping his hands, he then grabs the gag.
“Safe word for when you can’t speak?”
“I ring my little chime.” You dutifully respond without missing a beat.
“Good girl.” He says before securing it. “Now, I’m going tan this ass with my belt. And then Daddy’s going to fuck your little back hole with his big fat cock.”
A wail escapes your lips as the vibrator begins to torture your cunt.
“And remember, my sweet baby, my using your little hole is gonna be all about Daddy’s pleasure tonight.”
Your whole body shivers again.
“Which means you had better not cum.”
Andy cracks the belt against his thigh. “Can’t wait to make you scream, little one. Make sure you’re nice and loud for Daddy.”

You Weren't Mine to Lose
Aka a quick drabble I wrote of Ozzy and my MC talking after the stick or switch because I know FB will flop Warnings: angst, unedited word vomit
Ozzy stood in front of her, determined look upon his face. "Nikola can we talk?"
Her heart went to a stand still. She knew this was coming but she wasn’t sure she was ready to face whatever this talk would bring. Emotions were pretty high the night she left the villa, and they were high once again with her return. A lot had happened in that time, a lot had changed.
She just wasn’t sure yet if the change was good.
“Sure,” she replied simply getting up from her spot next to Andy. The man gave her a reassuring squeeze of her hand before she left to follow Ozzy. The long walk across the villa felt like a walk of shame after a one night stand that went horribly wrong. Almost everyone paused their chats to watch the pair make their way over to the swing.
Where they had their first real kiss only a few days ago. Yet it felt like an eternity.
“First off,” the tall dancer finally said. “I can’t believe you’re still here.”
“Me neither,” she breathed out settling a comfortable distance away from. “The vote apparently wasn’t for the least popular, but the most popular. I just got an extra day at casa amor.”
“Looks like you used that extra time well,” He muttered under his breath.
“What’s that supposed to mean?” Nikola’s brows furrowed together as her eyes narrowed.
“Well you twisted with this bloke you brought back here.” He gestured towards Andy laughing with Bella at the firepit.
“His name is Andy and he’s a lovely guy.”
Ozzy let out a sigh rubbing his hands on his face before turning to look at her. “I’m sure he is, its just hard to see you back and with someone new.”
“Well you stuck with Grace, she said you guys were fixing things after I left and before Casa.” Her arms folded across her chest remembering the chats she had with Grace over the last few days.
He rubs his face once more, “Yeah we did.”
An exasperated breath leaves her mouth, “Wow. I thought that was a done deal. I don’t understand why you’re all aggy with me about bringing someone back then?”
“Come on Nik, I thought you were gone and Grace is my day dot. I never gave her a full chance because you were..... distracting, I owed her at least a little chance.”
“So now this is all my fault? I was just a distraction for you?” Ozzy tries to interrupt her repeating an alphabet soup of ‘no’s’ and ‘that isn’t want I meant.’
“You know what Ozzy, you’re biggest issue, and I’m gonna tell it like it is; is that you don’t know what you want. You have had plenty of time to choose me, tell Grace you only saw her as a friend. But once I was out of the picture you didn’t miss me, you jumped back into bed with Grace. In the future, if you truly liked someone you’d make an effort and not keep them your secret side piece till you ‘decided’ what you ‘wanted’. Because next time a girl isn’t going to wait around for an answer, I know I’m not.”
And with that Nikola stood from the swing and stormed off, ignoring his pleas to hear him out.

Moments in Between - Ham, Cheese, & Tomato
Tumblr media
Characters: Jason Todd x fem!OC
Rating and warnings: G, no warnings
Summary: Jason & his Definitely Not Girlfriend volunteer at a community kitchen making sandwiches. Shenanigans ensue.
Masterlist
-------
Jason scowled and carved another piece of ham on the industrial slicer. The tranquil peace was shattered, the contentment of good work done well lost.
Across from him Andy tried and failed to stifle her giggles. Her face was scrunched up adorably.
Maybe he wouldn’t mind so much if she weren’t so fucking cute about it.
“There he goes,” she said, holding her breath.
On her phone screen a youtube video played, drone footage of the Red Hood getting his foot caught on the edge of a building and face planting on the roof.
She burst into laughter once more. She was almost in tears.
Jason sliced another piece of ham and tossed it down on the upturned sandwich.
“You are falling behind on the tomatoes,” he snapped.
“I was ahead of you anyway,” she said, closing the sandwich without looking and putting down the ingredients for the next.
It was five in the morning and they were helping out at a community kitchen. His arm was still in a cast and he was antsy enough to need distraction. Andy had suggested volunteering as a joke, then they had both egged each other on right up until they were writing their names down and getting assigned a time and place.
Now they stood in hair nets and plastic gloves, in an old but clean kitchen making three hundred sandwiches.
Andy clicked the replay button. They were, unfortunately, well ahead of schedule.
Jason considered snatching her phone and throwing it into the tub of mayonnaise. No, she’d fish it out and watch it thirty more times just to rub it in.
He considered dangling whoever sent her that video off the edge of a roof. Upside down. In their underwear.
“I don’t see why it’s so funny,” he said. “That could be a really dangerous injury. Maybe he broke his ankle and he’s in hospital right now. Or maybe Black Mask’s goons shot him in the head and you’re laughing at a dead man.”
“This video is from a year ago.”
It looped again. He could hear the crunch of his own boots slipping. The ‘oomf’ of impact.
The sniggering. Dear Lord, the sniggering.
“Didn’t you meet him, once?”
“Yeah he saved my life.” She wiped away a tear. “Scariest motherfucker I have ever seen.”
He looked at her. “Really?”
“No footage really does him justice.”
“You don’t look very scared,” he said evenly. He slowly sliced another piece of ham.
A wide grin spread across her face. “Well, he’s not looking, I think I’m safe.”
The temptation to do some very stupid rose within him. He scowled at the deli meat in his hands and called upon his great reserves of restraint.
“Besides,” Andy said, giggling again, “it’s important for us all to remember our protectors are human. So we don’t take them for granted.”
“I’m sure he’s feeling very appreciated.”
She looked at him funny.
“Why do you care?”
“Those tomatoes are not getting sliced.” He pointed at her chopping board and knife.
Her eyes narrowed. “Do you know him?”
“Tomato!” He slapped a piece of ham down.
“Ham!” She shrieked in return, slapping the next piece of bread down.
“Tomato!”
“Ham!”
“Would you two stop yelling sandwich ingredients at each other?” the organiser called from down the hall.
Andy jumped and Jason hiked his shoulders up.
“Yes, Miss Silvie,” they called in unison, and meekly returned to their work.
Andy smothered a giggle.
Jason mouthed ‘tomato!’ at her.

:deep breath:
college football player!Ari and cheerleader!reader can have so many hurt/comfort tropes alongside the shmut, in this essay i-
ok but for realsies, injuries!! reader could get dropped during a halftime routine 🥺 ari getting asked out by sorority girls right in front of her 😖 quiet moments where everything's overwhelming but they try to comfort each other even though they get on each other's nerves for days
oh yes !! (drabble below)
your arrangement was exclusive to an extent. both of you were too proud to admit your feelings, which led to some jealous fits (on his part) and tantrums (on your part). you're constantly chased by some lovesick people, and he just has to sit back and watch, and you have to do the same too, especially when he's asked out by the sorority girls.
ari notices the littlest things: aka you limping off the field, trying to hide it with your loud cheers and gleaming smile. since there's a game going on, he can't just drop everything to see if you're alright, but he does keep his eye on you for the rest of the night. he even asks the water boy, jake to get you something to drink.
and after the game when you bring up his act of kindness, well, he just rolls his eyes bc "I'm just saving you the embarrassment and myself from the distraction—even though everyone already knows you can barely take care of yourself, miss spoiled little princess."
he says that as if you didn't grow up the same.
(bc i love frat!ari) he's in a fraternity on campus and lives with the rest of his frat bros while you’re at home with your parents in one of those rich and fancy neighbourhoods. oh, and his family lives next door to you, so you see him over the weekend and holidays, and when he invites his friends for winter/spring break.
it's even worse bc your parents are friends with his, and they constantly have barbecues and brunch, those days you just have to grit your teeth and pretend to tolerate their son, the disgustingly hot, selfish and irritating football captain.
being neighbours leads to several midnight talks, with his window right across from yours, you can see him doing homework at his desk or lying on his bed. perhaps it's because you've known each other for years, but he can read you like an open book.
"Are they fighting again?" He asks, referencing your visiting grandparents downstairs, stirring up arguments with your parents. It was the same every visit, and this winter break wasn't any different.
"Is it that loud?"
"Well, you're in your sulking t-shirt and fuzzy socks." He leans over the railing, the midnight breeze flowing through his balcony doors. "The last time you wore that, you and Andy broke up."
You cross your arms, "We were never together."
"Right, you were just going on dates and fucking in his car."
"And his family's boat." You wince as a loud slam echoes downstairs, followed by several other incoherent shouts. Embarrassment floods your body, all families fight, but you just hated Ari being a witness to your dysfunctionality. Who knows if he’d stoop that low and use it against you?
You've always held your own, and this stupid fratboy isn't an exception.
"No yacht or fancy summer lodge? You're downgrading, princess."
You stare at him for a moment, a wicked smile crawling onto your lips. "You know that one night after you won the home game, and you guys threw a party?"
"And I made you come seven times."
"Yeah, he broke that record."
Ari's smirk falls, a deep furrow settling between his brows. "That prim and proper asshole made you come even once?"
"He did, eight times to be exact. And I couldn't even walk, I had to stay in his big, comfy bed until the afternoon the next day."
"You think being a liar is gonna make me jealous?"
“I’m not lying, but you do seem awfully jealous.”
He clenches his jaw, his unbuttoned flannel flutters open, exposing his hairy, muscular chest. "We’re going for a drive."
“Excuse me?”
"It's either a drive or I hop in through your window again." He leans closer, his voice deep. “Or, you come over and I keep you until your horrid grandparents leave. Your choice, princess.”

Tumblr media
It’s been months for both Eddie and you, but even so, the long haired ‘freak’ never seem to leave your mind. He’s been there since the day you met him, and even after the break-up, he was still there. It’s like Eddie’s been living in your head, rent-free; he made it his little home when he first gave you his shirt. You never understood Eddie’s change of mind regarding your relationship- yes, you knew his insecurities crept once in a while, but it never got to the point that he thought about breaking up with you. Before, it was never an option for Eddie. If there was a solution to his thoughts, it was always to fix his path but never leave you- at least that was until the ‘party’ thing; which you never knew about.
You spent days thinking about what had happened, that can’t be the only reason why you separated and left the most precious thing you had. For almost two years, you were attached to each other- as if one couldn’t live without the other. So why?
Little did you know you were about to find out soon.
The popular crowd arranged another get-together-event, just for the sake of partying and drinking and getting drunk- a.k.a, the usual. You needed something to distract yourself from the man who wouldn’t leave your mind so… you went, thinking that for a moment, you’d be able to forget and blur the painful memory of your last talk with Eddie. Ever since the separation, you never got the chance to talk with him again. Not when he kept avoiding you like the plague. At least that’s what you thought.
You and the other cheerleaders, along with the jocks, were hanging out in Andy’s house. You guys were upstairs, sat in a circle- just exchanging remarks to others’ story. You were not relating to any conversation that was going around in your circle, you stood up from where you were sitting. “Hey, I’m gonna go get drinks. Anyone want some?” you offered, hoping to get a very short time alone in the kitchen. “Ah, can I get a beer?” Jason raised his hand to get your attention, making sure you get him what he’s asking for. You only nodded back because it seems like he’s the only one who wanted to drink more.
You silently walked down the stairs, immediately making your way towards the refrigerator. Grabbing two more drinks, you went and rested yourself by the counter. You were slowly breathing in and out, getting that much needed air you were craving for while seated with people you don’t even like. Except for maybe Chrissy and Elliot. You just stood there, thinking being alone would help you but, as the silence continues- you just find your mind wondering back to a certain person. ‘Wish I was with Eddie instead’ you thought. God knows how much you miss silent times with Eddie. Believe it or not, Eddie can shut his mouth sometimes. He isn’t exactly as loud as he is whenever he’s with the Hellfire. There were times he enjoyed just laying on his bed, with his arms wrapped around you, staring at the trailer’s dirty ceiling.
As much as you dreaded to return to people who you only pretend to like, you had no other choice- you wanted a distraction and this was just it. Again, you silently walked up the stairs, hearing them laugh. You thought they were just laughing at each other’s stories again but, you stopped halfway when you heard a name. A name that never left you to find peace. “-Eddie.”
You knew that maybe it was just the usual ‘bring other’s down so we can feel better about ourselves’ thing that popular people tend to do. But no, you didn’t expect to find answers that explains the sudden break-up between you and Eddie. “Right! Like, I thought after our little talk with the freak, he’s still gonna swallow up his pride and stay with (Y/N). But, I guess we got it thru his head that they don’t belong together.” You heard a girl say.
“Wait- wait, so can you actually describe what happened? You talked? With the freak?” It was Andy’s turn to question, evident to his tone that he was frowning. Quickly followed by Jason, answering instead “Nah, we just went and explained that maybe… (Y/N) deserved better, ya know? Not that we actually care but, we can’t have OUR kind having connections, romantic or friendly, connections with the outcasts. It will ruin us! And I believe, we did (Y/N) a favor. She was once a lost soul, and we just saved her ass from being sacrificed to the devil.” There’s that joke, that running joke about Eddie being Satan’s disciple. If only they knew that Eddie’s better than all of them, not that they will ever admit that- but at least some people knew. You knew.
After hearing them laugh at your ex, it made you sick in the stomach. How could you ever thought that maybe you’d get along with them one day? Once again, you were so wrong about the people in Hawkins. Some people just don’t deserve a second chance.
It felt like ages before you realized what was happening- THEY were the reason why Eddie broke up with you. You were angry, no, you were furious. You could go up to them now, maybe even slap Jason’s smug face off, but you couldn’t. Deep inside you knew that wouldn’t be ideal, at least not for now. Your last game to cheer on, is in two days. You couldn’t find it in yourself to ruin (almost) everyone’s favorite event in Hawkins High, because if you confront them now- it’s for sure that hell will break loose. You were not that selfish, unlike those people. So, you decided to play pretend again, pretend you actually tolerate their kind. Then after the game, you’ll tell them to go fuck themselves. That was your plan.
You waited for another minute to pass before fully going upstairs, greeting them with one of your fake smiles. “Hi! Sorry I took so long to get our drinks, Jason. It’s just that uh… my mom called. She said she wanted me back like uh… right now. Says she needs me for something. So uh, sorry I have to go home early.” You almost threw the canned beer at Jason’s face, but you managed to refrain yourself from doing so. ‘Not today (Y/N), the day will come’ you promised yourself. You’d make him pay one of these days.
“You need a ri-“ before Elliot finished his sentence, you were down and running towards the door. You were still upset and didn’t want anyone near you, not even the most tolerable person in the basketball team.
You spent the remaining days, before the game, thinking on how you’d approach Eddie. Now that you knew, you want- NEED to talk to him. You were not gonna let this go so easy, not like the first time you thought Eddie’s deciding for himself. He was just provoked by some asshole who thinks he runs the whole school. You couldn’t let Eddie go, not again. Not after what you heard. You hoped that there was still a chance. You think that maybe you can convince Eddie that you don’t want anyone but him.
It’s finally game day. You never thought the day would come that you’d be wearing contacts. These past few days, with what you learned- plus your eye sight demanding for a better vision; gave you massive headaches. So, your mom convinced you to try and give contacts a second chance, hoping it would lessen your headaches too.
It’s game day, also your final cheer in Hawkins. You gave it your all, cheering and dancing your heart out. Of course, you didn’t know but, as usual- Eddie sat in the darkest corner. He couldn’t miss your last performance, he couldn’t miss the last time he’d be able to see you like this.
You were still standing near the bleachers after your routine, trying to get used to the contacts by looking far ahead of you. And that’s when you locked eyes with someone. That someone being the one and only Eddie Munson. What he didn’t expect, was to lock eyes with you. ‘Fuck! Is she staring at me? No, no, couldn’t be’ Eddie thought, he was confident you wouldn’t be able to see him. With his eyes still wide, he tried to look elsewhere, slightly scratching the back of his neck, pretending he didn’t just catch your gaze.
You felt a familiar lump in your throat, the same lump that kept hunting you for months of trying not to cry- about the guy who’s now acting oblivious in front of you. “Eddie…?” you whispered only to yourself, still not believing that he came to watch you again. Call yourself assuming but, you knew Eddie never had a reason to go to a basketball game before you. You were frozen at the spot, your eyes following the man’s retreating figure. Wait… retreating figure? You then realized that Eddie’s making his way down the bleachers, trying to desperately get away from you, again. Sitting at the last column made it easier for Eddie to go down and straight out the doors leading to the hallway.
You quickly ran towards the same door that Eddie wen thru. There was no time to waste, this was your chance, maybe the only chance you’d get to talk to Eddie again. You reached the hallway and saw Eddie’s back turned to you, he was resting an arm against one of the lockers. Eddie’s heart was racing so fast, not from the way he quickly ran to avoid you but, from the fact that you just saw him. ‘She saw me holy fuc-‘ his thoughts soon interrupted by you, calling his name. “Jesus Christ!” His arm that was resting- separated from the locker when his whole body literally jumped, spooked when you spoke. That’s another thing he didn’t expect, he didn’t expect you to follow him. So, hearing you almost scared him to death; aside from the fact that he got surprised by your voice, it was none other than YOUR voice.
He had no other choice but to face you- he had been wishing to see your face up close again but, not this way. Not when he didn’t know what to tell you now that you’re near him. Eddie never thought he’d talk to you, maybe if he did knew, he would’ve at least practiced some lines in front of the mirror.
“HI! No wait- I didn’t mean for that to come off so… aggressive…” he trailed off. ‘Yeah man, way to go Eddie’ he silently cursed. It’s been months okay, he didn’t know how to act around you anymore. You slowly came closer, swallowing before asking “Why… why were you at the game?” you just needed an answer before fully committing into telling him you now knew why he broke your relationship off.
“I uh… like basketball?” Eddie had never been a good liar, he was also aware of that. So, before you could reply and comment on his obvious lie- he just said the first thing that came into mind “You sure your boyfriend wouldn’t mind you talking to me?” now that shocked you, where the hell did Eddie got that idea?
“Wha- Boyfriend?! Eddie what are you talking about?”
“Oh, you know, the guy you hugged last game?” He scoffed, remembering the bitter sight he saw last time he went to watch you.
“Last game? Who did I hug last gam- You mean Elliot?! Wait! LAST GAME? You were also there?” At this point, you were flabbergasted. Eddie might have accidentally admitted that he’s been watching the recent games and it gave you the little tiniest bit of hope.
“Oh wow! Also an E- didn’t know you had a type (Y/N).” Eddie cocked his head to the side, saying it with pure sarcasm while smiling- a smile that’s not an indication of happiness. You did NOT expect that this will be your first conversation after months and it irritated you. “Eddie, me and Elly are not-“
“AND a nickname too! That sounds just like my name! This is great, so fantastic, sweetheart!” Eddie’s jealousy turned into frustration, an obvious one, as he raised both of his arms, bent in a way you’d think he was shrugging but that’s just Eddie letting out his frustration with his dramatic expressions. “Will you please stop cutting me off?! You didn’t give me a chance to talk last time! Now, I’m the one who’s gonna talk and you better listen to me Edward!” You’ve had enough of Eddie’s attitude, now it’s your turn to corner him against the lockers and tell him everything.
“Me and that guy you’re jealous of- are nothing BUT friends. I hugged him because he’s the only guy I felt comfortable with after you left me and avoided me as if I had some type of- some type of disease! I couldn’t even go near the Hellfire club! You avoided me like you hate me so much but then watch me in what? In every god fucking game there is after we broke up! I don’t understand what you want me to do Eddie. You’ve left me confused!” This felt familiar, but now the roles were reversed. You were now the one leaving Eddie speechless. Your eyes were hurting and your vision’s all blurry. Tears in your eyes made the contacts burn but you didn’t care. You were pouring your heart out to Eddie.
“Why? Why didn’t you just tell me that Jason and his stupid- his stupid friends told you something that made you decide for the both of us?” You were trying to choke out the words but, it was getting harder for you to talk. Beyond your tears, you saw Eddie looked down in shame for a moment, his fingers fiddling with his rings- a nervous mannerism of Eddie that you learned when you were dating.
He finally looked up to you, his own eyes filling with tears. “Because they were right (Y/N)! You deserve be-“
“Enough with the I deserve better bullshit Eddie! That’s not your decision to make, that was supposed to be MY choice and you took-“ You started accusingly pointing your index finger on Eddie’s chest “-you took that away the moment you broke up with me. You know damn well that my choice is always gonna be you. It’s always gonna be you Eddie. You can’t stop me now, not like you did before. Because I still love you, and I know you still love me too unless you miraculously started liking basketball that’s why you-“
And the moment you and Eddie were waiting for, happened. To feel each other’s lips again. Your hand that was tapping against Eddie’s chest was stopped by his own hand. He was holding yours to his chest, near his heart, as if to let you know that you were still the beat of it. Eddie’s eyes were closed but yours were surprised. His free arm snaked around your waist to pull you closer, tightening it each second, afraid to ever let you go again.
His tongue licked your lower lip, asking permission to enter. That’s when you closed your eyes and brought him closer- if that was even still possible. While your tongue moved with Eddie’s- he gently pressed your back against the lockers, his kiss was getting a bit aggressive; making up for the months he wasted moping around instead of doing this with you. Finally, both of you were out of breath.
Eddie rested his forehead against yours, last time he did, it did not end well- but this time? It was a new beginning as he said “ ‘Course I still love you sweetheart. What can I say? It was my mistake for letting you go. I- I never should’ve listened to those assholes, now I just wasted time that was supposed to be ours. Sorry, princess. Let me make it up to you?” Other people would assume that Eddie could never be defined as ‘soft’ and ‘gentle’- but this was your Eddie. He’s handling you like a fragile object against him as he hugged both of his arms around, resting his chin on top of your head.
With your faced pressed on his chest, you managed to mumble out “You already did, Eddie. Now, promise me we’ll leave together? For real this time?” You felt the vibration of his “MmHmm.”
He moved to gently lift your chin with his finger, one of his cold rings brushing on you, as he looked down to meet your eyes. “You think that- after that hot make out sesh in the middle of the hallway… I’m letting you go?” He chuckled “Yeah, no can do, sweetheart. I, guarantee you, that you’re now stuck- again- with Eddie the Banished!” There he goes again with his dramatic monologues, you thought but- it only made you smile as you look up to him, admiring him while posing like a total nerd- fist closed, arm extended up in the air with the other arm wrapped around you.
You were about to lean in and kiss him again when the doors to your right burst open, loud victorious screams were heard before it stopped, ‘Oh righhhht, the game’ which both you and Eddie totally forgot- now you’ve got the rest of the cheerleaders and the basketball team staring at the both of you; in a very promising position.
“(Y/N)? What the fuck? Is this freak bothering you again?” Jason stepped forward, ready to show his friends that he’s gonna be the ‘hero’ of the day again. “Actually no, I don’t think my boyfriend, will ever bother me. What ya’ think Eddie?”
“No, no, I don’t think I do bother you, sweetheart. Considering that we just finished MAKING OUT in the HALLWAY” Eddie made sure to emphasize the words ‘making out’ and ‘hallway’ which made you laugh. And, the look of your former teammates was priceless. It’s just the usual disgusted looks but, it was better than their fake smiles and greetings.
“You’re throwing your life away (Y/N), You’re really gonna go back to this los-“ a girl started but immediately gasped when you held your middle finger up to her. “Yes, and I, quit. I mean, it was the last game but yeah. Go fuck yourselves!” You held a sweet but sarcastic smile. Your hand making its way towards Eddie’s, to intertwine them.
As you walk away from the crowd, “You fre-!” You and Eddie heard Jason started, so you turn around, ready to deal with another drama scene when you saw Jason had his fist up in the air, ready to swing at Eddie- when someone punched Jason hard. On the face. His nose bleeding. Oh shit it’s bleeding. “That’s what you get for being an asshole, you had it coming mate. Not sorry.” You looked at Elliot, who punched Jason by the way. You mouthed a silent ‘thank you’ to him. Elliot nodded to both Eddie and you- before walking to the opposite direction. Also leaving the toxic people behind.
You were able to breathe again, finally that’s over. “Hey… sorry for the accusation earlier. I was just, y’know, kind of jealous? But he’s cool, he’s cool.” Eddie shyly admitted, you smiled at your boyfriend, taking his fidgeting hands. “S’kay, at least I got you back now.” You continued to walk down the hallway with Eddie, hands still together.
Eddie then asked you a question he’s been meaning to ask since you two made up. “So, princess… since we’re uhm, together again…”
“What is it, Eddie?”
“Can the fair maiden, join me, in today’s Hellfire campaign?” Eddie smiled as he heard you squeal from excitement. He sure missed his favorite player and you with your one and only dungeon master.
You were so glad to have him back, now stronger than ever. Eddie will never make the same mistake again, not when you showed him everyday that you needed him as much as he needed you.
You never deserved better, because Eddie Munson was the best.

December 14th Drarry Drabble: "Sweet Tooth"
Tumblr media
Tags: Flatmates, Slow Burn, UST, First Kiss, Flirting, Snuggling, Fluff, Even asleep Teddy is the perfect matchmaker
“Harry, I found the most adorable reindeer doughnuts you’ve ever seen—” Draco hollered from the hallway, delighting in the snug warmth inside the two-storey flat he shared with Harry. It was absolutely freezing outside, and Draco was glad to finally be home. He toed off his shoes and kicked them aside, then haphazardly slipped out of his winter coat and flung it over the bottom newel post. A well-practised swish of his wand sent the cardboard box of reindeer doughnuts floating into the kitchen at the end of the hall, and then Draco was on his way up the stairs, taking two steps at once.
He found Harry in his bedroom, and when he poked his head in to check whether Harry was asleep, he noticed that Harry had company. Teddy, his godson, was fast asleep in Harry’s arms. His signature blue hair was a dishevelled mess, and his face was blotchy and tear-stained. Draco arched a curious eyebrow and pushed the door open a little further. He quietly stepped into the room, careful to avoid the creaking threshold floorboard.
“What happened?” he whispered.
Harry let out a soft sigh.
“Bit of drama at St. Mungo’s today. Andy took him for his scheduled dragon pox vaccination, but he refused to let the Healer anywhere near him without me there. Begged off work when Andy floo-called to ask if I could help. Afterwards, he wouldn’t let go of me, so I told Andy I’d take him home. He’s with us for the weekend, I’m afraid.”
Draco grinned.
“You big ol’ softie.”
Harry rolled his eyes.
“Like you wouldn’t have done the same.”
Draco shrugged. He gently closed the bedroom door behind him, then crossed the room and sat down on the edge of the bed.
“Why all the tears?” he murmured.
Harry let out another sigh.
“His arm was sore after the injection. I tried to dilute a few drops of pain potion to make it kid-friendly, but he refused to drink it. Threw up when he smelt it. As you can imagine, we’ve had quite the morning. I finally got him to sleep about twenty minutes ago, but I’m afraid to leave the bed if it wakes him up again.”
Draco huffed a soft laugh. He pulled his legs up onto the bed and, curling up next to Teddy, gently combed his fingers through his cousin’s hair to restore some order to it. Teddy mumbled something garbled and curled into an even smaller ball.
“I’ll stay with him if you need a break.”
Harry shook his head.
“Nah, I’m OK. Did I hear you say something about reindeer doughnuts?”
Draco nodded.
“There’s a new bakery café on Carkitt Market called Sweet Tooth, a hole-in-the-wall sort of thing with two tables on the inside and a queue to rival any book signing Flourish & Blotts ever organised. They drew more of a crowd than you the last time you decided to eat your lunch sandwich out by the fountain. Went to check it out and thought you might like some reindeer doughnuts; they’ve a treacle filling.”
Harry’s eyes sparkled brightly.
“You are my saviour,” he said.
Draco turned his eyes upwards.
“Laying it thick here, aren’t you, Potter?”
Harry shrugged.
“Dunno, perhaps, I don’t care. Treacle is heaven.”
Draco chuckled.
“You’re too easy to please, Potter.”
Their gazes met. Like so often, Draco felt unable to look away. His cheeks flushed with heat, and after a few seconds of deliberately ignoring the thumping in his chest, Draco tore his gaze away — it required enormous effort. He tried very hard not to think about the fact that he’d climbed onto Harry’s bed without asking and to distract himself from being close to Harry—their feet were practically entangled, and he could feel the heat of Harry’s body—Draco focused his attention on Teddy. He caressed the little boy’s face, and when Teddy mumbled something else in his sleep, Draco instinctively pressed a lingering kiss to his cousin’s temple.
“He’s burning up,” he whispered, flicking his gaze at Harry.
Harry nodded.
“One of the side-effects of the vaccine. Should be gone by tomorrow.”
“I’ll brew something in a bit. I can tweak the Pepper-Up recipe a bit. If you whip up one of your famed hot chocolates with cream and marshmallows, I’ll slip it in. He won’t know a thing and will feel better in a flash.”
“He’s darn lucky to have you, you know.”
Draco smiled.
“Us,” he corrected. “Anything for the little monster. He’s got my whole heart.”
“Who’s the big ol’ softie now?” Harry teased with a grin that made Draco’s stomach flip as his heart helplessly stuttered inside his chest.
He shrugged.
“So what if I am?”
Harry grinned.
“Exactly, so what,” he said. His hand found Draco’s, and they entwined their fingers underneath Teddy’s pillow.
Draco failed to suppress a goofy grin (not that he was trying especially hard), and resting his head on his upper arm, he glanced at Harry. Being this close to Harry made it difficult to ignore how Harry’s proximity woke the butterflies in his stomach, and while they danced and fluttered about, his heart rate surged. Draco let his eyes fall closed. He concentrated on the way Harry smelt—of fresh citrus, coffee, a faint whiff of Mungo’s, and his signature cologne—and the way Harry gently caressed the back of his hand with his calloused thumb. He poked Harry’s feet with his toes. They played footsie for a while, just lightly rubbing their feet together, and then Harry shifted a little.
“Draco?”
“Hm?”
“Can I kiss you?”
Draco opened his eyes in a flash and stared at Harry. He wanted to say something, but it felt like a cat had gotten his tongue, and the harder he tried to find the right words to answer Harry’s unexpected question, the more he struggled to establish a connection between his brain and vocal cords. It was like he’d suddenly gone mute. He cleared his throat a few times or tried to, and as his cheeks pinked and then turned crimson, he stared up at Harry, utterly perplexed.
“Er,” he eventually said.
Harry smiled.
“What an eloquent answer,” he murmured. “And that from the man who usually has it all together.”
Draco resisted the urge to roll his eyes, ignoring the taunt. For now, at least.
“It’s not a no, though,” he pointed out.
“It’s not a yes either,” Harry countered.
Draco briefly considered his options, their friendship, their living situation, their entangled lives, the fact that five-year-old Teddy was fast asleep between them, and, perhaps most importantly, that Harry had, for some bold reason, decided to put a sudden end to their little dance and song. They were both aware that there was more to their friendship and had been for a while. Even their friends, a weird group of Slytherins, Hufflepuffs, Gryffindors and a Ravenclaw who all appeared to get on splendidly, knew there was more between them, and regularly joked about it or made bets. But until now, Draco had never felt the overwhelming urge to change anything about his and Harry’s relationship. Sure, thoughts like what Harry might taste like and whether he was a good kisser crossed his mind every so often, but something always held him back from making the first move. Apparently, now he didn’t have to.
“If you don’t want—”
Draco hissed a pointed, “oh shut it already, Potter,” then smiled. “If Edward here wakes up and finds us snogging, you can explain the whole birds and bees situation to him.”
“And what do I do if he wants to know whether you’re the bird or the bee?”
This time, Draco did roll his eyes but swallowed a groan.
“You’re ruining the moment, Potter,” he said.
“Oh.”
“Just— kiss me already.”

Tumblr media
“No, no no,” I heard Andie call from behind me as I ran through the woods. We’d broken off from the train tracks when we heard the howling of the pack of Demodogs.
“No, why’re we running toward the bad noises?” She grumbled as we came upon the bluff.
“Do you see them?” Dustin asked me.
“No,” I shook my head in response.
Lucas lifted his binoculars to his face, scanning the area. Another howl came from the south east, and we all snapped our heads toward the sound.
“It’s the lab,” he shuddered. “They we’re going home.”
We were all silent as the realisation slowly overcame us all. Even Max, Andie, and Artemis had to have known what this meant. We’d told them everything in such great detail that they’d chosen to follow us into battle.
“What do we do,” Andie’s voice rocked us all from our stupor, every one of us coming to stare at her.
“Boy, you really don’t like to sit still for five seconds do you?” Dustin poked at Andie.
“She never has, if she’s not doing something, she’ll explode,” Artie chimed in with a chuckle.
“She’s right though,” Lucas joined the conversation, “we gotta do something.”
Suddenly, just as everyone had looked to me before, all eyes were back on me. Why was I the defacto leader?
“Andie, can I talk to you for a second?” I asked, jerking my head toward the tree line. The girl nodded and followed me as I walked to hide in the shadows of the forest.
“What do you wanna do,” I asked in a whisper, pulling Andie in gently by her forearm.
“Why’re your asking me?” She hissed, yanking her arm from my grasp, “you’re ‘King Steve’.”
I rolled my eyes and slapped my arms across my chest in defence. She didn’t know me enough to use that awful nickname.
“Don’t call me that, for one,” I quickly glanced at the kids, each of their eyes expectantly seeing into my soul. I turned Andie to face to woods, and continued our conversation.
“Two, I’m asking you because you’re the only other adult here, Hyll,” I told her, “and like you said, I’m dangerous and reckless sometimes. If we need to turn around and take these kids home, just say the word, and we will go.”
Her green eyes pierced my own as she stared up at me, her lips thinning into a tight frown and an exhale puffing past her nostrils.
“You gotta stop that,” I chuckled, looking away from her for a split second to compose myself.
“Stop what?” She snarled.
“The eyes,” I teased her, “it’s like they get bigger and shinier when you pout, it’s distracting!”
“Can you stop looking at my eyeballs then and focus?! There are demons roaming Hawkins, Harrington, and we’re trying to figure out what to do!” She hissed at me, slapping my arm harshly.
“Alright, sorry, fuck,” I said, rubbing my arm and trying to do as she asked.
“Like I said, you wanna go home?” I questioned.
Once again, Andie sighed and shuffled in her feet. She finally ran a hand through her hair, the other in her hip. She then shrugged with one arm and frowned sarcastically.
“Fuck it,” she shook her head, “get to the cars kids, we gotta go warn the people at the lab!”
The kids all high fived and gave resounding cheers as they ran past us back into the woods. Andie’s accusatory stare caught me as they ran between us, back toward the tracks.
“What?” I threw my hands up in a defensive stance and she pointed at me.
“You’re a bad influence on me,” she said finally before taking off after our gaggle of children.
I shook my head in return, only sighing and heading off after them.
~~~
“I told you it’d be quicker to walk down the hill, there it is!” Artie pointed towards the edge of the woods, the lights coming from Hawkins lab leading toward our goal.
My heart almost leapt from my chest when I felt an arm sank around my own. When I looked down, I saw Andie walking with her arm linked in mine, head resting on my shoulder.
“I wanna do normal new best friend things after this,” she offered, out of the blue.
“The only thing we’ve done since we met is babysit and fight for our lives.”
I nodded, her words stinging a bit. Friends. Yeah. Though, I’d take what I could get at this moment.
“We can do that,” I said in return, “go roller skating or bowling.”
“I wanted to get that new movie, Footloose? I heard Kevin Bacon moves like a salsa dancer,” she laughed.
A chuckle came deep from within my chest and I squeezed her arm a little tighter.
“Then we can rent footloose,” I nodded.
Just as I was about to say more, a familiar voice echoed through the clearing.
“Hello? Who’s there?!”
I pushed to the front of the group,gripping my bat in one hand, shining my flashlight toward the voice as I broke the tree line.
My anxiety dropped when I saw that it was Nancy and Johnathan Beyers that made their way toward us up the grass.
“Steve?” They called in unison.
“Nancy?” The shock was evident in my voice as I broke into a jog down the hill.
“Johnathan,” Dustin stated as he followed.
“What’re you all doing here?” Nancy questioned in concern.
“What’re you doing here?” I asked.
“We were looking for Mike and Will,” she offered, closing more space between us.
“They’re not in there, are they?” Artie asked, standing close to Dustin.
“We’re not sure,” Johnathan gives us a skeptic so look, “why?”
Another bone curdling roar came from the lab, and our heads turned in unison.
I once again felt Andie grab my jacket from behind me, though when I turned to face her, she stared bravely toward the lab.
“Alright we need a plan,” Lucas voiced.
“Wait there are new ones,” Johnathan quizzically looked over the group of kids that had crowded around us, then looking to Andie, “you told new ones?”
Andie and I both threw our hand up this time, Artemis following suit.
“Blame them,” Andie pointed toward the kids, “they told us.”
“Did you tell them about Will?” Beyers hissed at the kids.
“Woah,” I stepped forward, my hands shooting out to shield the children behind me, “whether you like it or not, Beyers, they’ve been a huge help.”
“Not if they’ve been running around causing trouble with his friends they aren’t,” Johnathan snapped.
“We haven’t seen Will in days, man,” Dustin defended himself.
Soon, all the kids were mentioning the lack of their friend this last week, his apparent sickness being known to the whole group.
“Guys,” I heard from over the commotion. Andie tugged my sleeve and pointed to Nancy.
“The power’s back on,” she commented, pointing to the lab.
The whole group followed suit as Johnathan and Nancy ran back toward their car at the gate. Though, as Beyers tried to let us in, the gate did not budge.
“Lemme try,” Dustin pushed his way into the security booth. He was met by protest from Beyers, who slapped his hands away from the buttons. I almost lurched forward when Andie stopped me.
“Let me try, Johnathan!!!” Henderson snapped before pushing the button multiple times. Still nothing happened.
“Son of a bitch, you know what?!” Henderson slammed his hand into the switch box. Finally the gate slid open.
“Great, let’s go,” Nancy took initiative and slid into Beyers’ front seat.
My eyes locked with hers as she looked out the windshield at me, and I caught a glimpse of something sad in her eyes. She quickly looked away, and I stepped out of the way of the car.
“We’ll be right back,” Beyers assured us as he sped of toward the lab.
Our group went quiet again, gathering next to the security booth as we waited. Andie slipped inside, her head down, an angry look plastered on her face. I followed her.
“What’s up?” I asked her, leaning against the threshold of the booth, watching her fiddle with the pens and papers strewn about.
“So that’s Wheeler, huh?” Andie asked quietly, not bothering to make eye contact, “she’s pretty.”
“Yeah I-I guess,” I stammered. “But her and-“
“Beyers…” she finished my sentence, finally bringing her eye line to meet mine, “I’m sorry about that.”
I shrugged. “Shit happens.”
In all honesty, it didn’t even bother me that she was with Beyers this whole time. What bothered me was the look of guilt in her eyes; like she’d been seeing him all along.
“You’re not pissed?” Andie scoffed, plopping herself into the roller chair beneath her.
I shook my head, “I guess not. I just want to move on, ya know?”
“Well,” she sucked her teeth, twirling a pen between her index fingers and thumbs, “then I’ll be pissed for you.”
My chuckle was cut short by the screeching of tyres and the roar of engines. Andie snapped to attention, causing me to exit the booth, seeing Johnathan’s car come careening out of the lab parking lot, toward us.
“Move!” I shouted to the kids, who all thankfully, listened. As Beyers sped past us, not bothering to stop for us, I began to panic.
“Fuck, there’s gotta be something wrong,” Andie said, as if she read my mind. My voice halted as I noticed Chief Hopper’s SUV speeding toward us as well honking.
“Let’s go!” He screamed at us, his SUV ticking to a halt to let us in.
I opened the front door, sliding the seat back and piling in. By the time we were all in, Andie was placed firmly between my thighs, Max shoved between Lucas and Artemis, who elbowed me every time there was a bump in the road. Henderson was the only one not sharing a seat, his rear nice and comfortable up front with the chief.
Everyone was silent on the way to back to the Beyers house. And when we all finally climbed out of the SUV my mind was numb. I was on the couch, leg bouncing wildly before Hopper’s voice shook me from my state.
“We stay here,and we wait for help,” he growled at little Wheeler, leaving the room.
None of the kids said a word. Each one was placed in a different spot around the paper covered room. Soon, little wheeler rose from his spot at the kitchen table, going to pluck a small blue box from the coffee table a room over.
“You guys know Bob was the original founder of Hawkins AV?” He offered outright.
“Really?” Lucas inquired back.
“Yeah. Petitioned the school board and everything. Then he had a fundraiser trot equipment,” he said, “Mr Clarke learned everything from him. Awesome right?”
The room was filled with resounding ‘yes’s’ and ‘pretty cools.’
“We can’t let him die in vain,” he said in finality.
“Well what do you wanna do, Mike?” Dustin snapped, “the chief’s right on this. We can’t stop the demodogs on our own.”
“Demodogs?” Artemis mirrored in question.
Andie rolled her eyes at her little sister.
“Ya know, Demogorgon, dogs. Demodogs,” Andie gestures to Henderson as he spoke, like he was god telling the gospel and she knew he was right. I couldn’t help but scoff at her.
“It’s like a compound. It’s like a play on words?”
“Okay!” Artie said exasperatedly.
“I mean, when it was just Dart, maybe,” Dustin continued.
“But there’s an army now,” Lucas interjected.
“Precisely.”
“His army,” Mike popped his head up.
“What do you mean?” I asked, standing form the couch and leaning against the desk to my right.
“HIS army!” Mike said more forcefully this time, looking around at us all, “maybe if we stop him, we can stop his army as well!”
His friends looked at him, dumbfounded, and Andie and I shared the same lost look between one another. What?
Little wheeler then rushed back into the living room before coming back with a paper scrawled with crude crayon drawings.
“The shadow monster?” Max asked.
“It got Will that day in the field,” Mike nodded.
“The Doctor said it infected him, like a virus.”
“So this virus, it’s connecting him,” Artie spoke with her hands frantically, “to the tunnels?”
“To the tunnels, monsters, the upside down, everything,” Mike clarified.
“Slow down,” Andie stopped the kids, “slow down.”
“Okay so, the shadow monster is inside of him, and if the vibes feel something like pain, then so does Will.”
“And so does Dart,” Lucas nodded.
“Yeah, like Mister Clarke taught us, the hive mind,” Artie added.
“Hive mind?” I asked shyly.
“A collective consciousness. It’s a super organism,” Dustin explained.
Wheeler pointed back to the page of crayon scribbles.
“This is the thing that’s controlling everything,” he went on, “the brain.”
Not even a beat skips before Dustin is filling in more gaps. “These kids are amazing,” Andie whispered from beside me.
“Like the mind flayer,” Henderson stated at Will’s drawing with knowing eyes.
Lucas snapped his fingers and a question came from Andie and I.
In unison, “What?”
The boys scrambled to pull a giant book from Henderson’s bag, flipping through pages to find whatever it was they were looking for.
“Is that the new DM’s guide?” Andie’s mood instantly perked up as she joined the circle at the table, each of the boys staring at her in awe.
“You okay?” Mike asked excitedly.
“Yeah there’s a group I played with in Washington, I’ve been trying to find a party here!” She chimed. I had no clue what she was referring to, but as the kids shared one final look of ecstatic joy, they reverted back to their serious conversation.
~~~
I walked from the shed after it was all set up, every wall and discerning feature covered in tarp or painting paper.
As I scanned the yard, I found no sign of Andie or her sister. She’d been awfully scarce since the plan to interrogate Will was thought up and agreed to. I was worried she wasn’t okay with it.
Looking toward the house, I saw her through the window. I strode forward, my long legs making the walk very quick. As I opened the door the kitchen, Andie’s head whipped from the sink to my form.
She was cleaning her axe, her little sister sat boredly at the table.
“Can I talk to you for a second?” I asked her. The blonde simply nodded and left her weapon in the sink, wiping her now clean hands in a nearby towel and following me toward the back of the house.
Artie eyed me boldly as I I placed a hand to the small of Andie’s back to lead her from the kitchen. I rolled my eyes and continued walking away. We finally reached the bathroom leaving the door open as we entered.
Andie hopped up on the sink, leaning back toward the mirror until her back pressed against it.
“You’re too quiet,” I opted to start as non-confrontationally as possible, “what’s going through your mind?”
“What, three days into knowing me and you know when I’m TOO quiet? I’m quiet all the time,” she deflected, not bothering to look my way until her voice cracked at the end.
Finally, for the first time, I’d seen Andie upset.
“They’re gonna torture that kid,” she huffed, wrapping her arms around her form, “it sounds like he’s already been through so much, and-“
“Hey,” I rushed forward, seeing her candy apple green eyes well with tears, wrapping my arms around her.
“It’s alright, he’s gonna be okay,” I assured her, rubbing a hand over her back. During her time inside she’d taken off her leather jacket, leaving her in a soft white sweater, baggy sleeves puffing out as they wrapped around my waist.
“I’m sorry for being emotional,” she sniffled into my chest. I chuckled.
“Emotional? If this is you emotional I’d hate to see you throw a fit,” I offered facetiously.
A small, pathetic giggle came from Andie’s throat and she lifted herself off of me, wiping her tears with a small smile.
“You’re a good friend, Harrington… Thank you.”

Iridessa And The Lost Boy
Tumblr media
Summary: This Halloween you refuse to let anyone dim your sparkle, unless it's your curmudgeon of a boyfriend. Andy Barber x Black Reader
Warnings: Slight Angst, Fluff, Groveling, Cursing, Implied Smut, Minors DNI
A/N: Sorry this Halloween Fic is coming a day late. Part of my Growing Pains Series. Partially written and edited on my phone. All mistakes are my own.
___
“You are such a fucking curmudgeon it’s not even funny!” You shout as you chase your man up yet another flight of stairs.
“I am not!”
“Are too, Andy!”
“Hate to tell ya, but you’re sounding real mature right now, baby girl.” He calls over his shoulder as he makes his way to his bedroom. As if he could escape you there.
‘Either hear me out or I’m going home!” You brace yourself against the door frame, tapping your foot expectantly while you wait for him to give you the attention you’ve been demanding for the past twenty minutes.
“Oh, no you’re not.” Andy strips off his shirt and tosses it in the direction of his closet before doing the same with his pants. He knew it drove you nuts whenever he did that. It takes everything in you not to go pick up the discarded items of clothing and drop them into the hamper yourself.
Buttface. You stick your tongue out at him for good measure.
“Again, real mature, Y/N.” He stretches his arms above his head, his taut muscles bunching and flexing beneath his tanned, lightly freckled skin. “You gettin’ in the shower with me or no?”
“No.” You huff, even as you go to remove the tie from your wrist so you can pile your hair on top of your head. “Cuz’ I’m going home.” Your man just rolls his eyes before padding towards the bathroom.
“Sweet girl, in order for you to do that you’d have to remember where you put your keys.” He levels you with a knowing look before disappearing inside to brush his teeth. “But you don’t.”
“If you don’t agree to uphold your end our agreement to be the Peter Pan to my Iridessa, then I - I…I’m sleeping on the couch tonight.”
Ooh! What now? Take that, Andrew Jerome Barber.
“You had better have your pretty little ass in my bed by the time I get out of this shower, otherwise we’re gonna have a problem.” Andy growls through a mouthful of toothpaste, pointing his foamy brush at you for emphasis.
Your eyes shoot to your hairline, surprised at his audacity. His house or not, you would sleep wherever you damn well pleased! At least until your boyfriend noticed you were missing – then he would simply pick you up and bring you back to wherever he thought you belonged.
“But it’s my favorite holiday. And this is our first Halloween together! I mean, it’s an excuse to dress up and play make-believe.” You clap your hands and bounce on your toes, excitement dancing through your veins.
Andy rinses his mouth in the sink before poking his head out the door once more. “Y/N, I think it’s wonderful that you love Halloween so much, I do. But it’s just not my thing and neither are the parties. Plus, I don’t do tights.” He tells you with a one-armed shrug.
Your shoulders slump in defeat. “So, you’re not even gonna go to the party with me?” You ask, a small pout forming on your lips. “But you said you would.”
“I’m afraid not, my little Isadora. I’ve gotta use that evening to catch up on some paperwork. But I’ll be your ride home.”
“I’m going as Iridessa and I can find my own ride.” You sniff haughtily, turning up your nose at him. “It’s called a Lyft, thank you very much.”
Your man lets out a withering sigh before ducking inside the bathroom again, this time to turn on the shower. “C’mon and join me, baby girl. I’ll even set the temperature to hellfire, just how you like it.”
“Nope!” You were not going to let that man distract you. Those hands, coupled with soap and suds, were dangerous. “What if you went as John? Or how about Michael?”
“I don’t do nightgowns or top hats either. And please don’t ask me to dress up as the St. Bernard.” While you can hear him, his voice is slightly muffled by the sound of the water pelting against tile.
“Her name is Nana and she’s actually a Newfoundland, you crotchety ass ogre!” Officially out of patience, you throw your arms in the air and flounce out of the bedroom to go watch television.
“Y/N?” When you don’t respond, Andy just shakes his head and shucks his boxers. Truth be told, your Big Man wasn’t too worried. He’d just search you out and wrestle you into bed when he was finished.
And he’d be lying if he said he wasn’t looking forward to smoothing his little pixie’s ruffled wings the best way he knew how.
___
Twenty minutes later, he finds you on the couch clutching a beige throw pillow and aimlessly scrolling through videos on your phone.
“Baby, why aren’t you dressed in your pajamas?" Or better yet, waiting for me naked in bed?
“Because,” you shrug. “I was searching for my keys. And then I got distracted by this channel that features a bunch of DIY costume tutorials.” Locking the screen, you rise to your feet and begin looking around for your boots. “I found them by the way.”
“Oh.” Andy raises a questioning brow as his bright blue eyes follow your movements. “Where were they?”
“Hiding underneath the end table.”
“Okay…and what are you doing now?”
“Going home.” You reply as you force your foot into a stubborn black boot. Ignoring his muffled curse, you keep going, repeating the process with the other shoe. “And not because I don’t want to share my feelings, but because I’m mad and don’t want to chance saying the wrong thing.”
“Uh huh. Well, how about you say it anyway?” Your Big Man rests his hands on his narrow hips. “That way we can move on and I can take you to bed.”
Shaking your head, you tuck your phone into the back pocket of your jeans and then go about rearranging and fluffing the pillows on his couch.
“I’m listening, Y/N.” You can sense the impatience in his tone.
“I’m sure you are.” You grumble. “Doesn’t mean anything I say is gonna change your mind. Besides, I don’t want our first official fight to be over the fact that I’m frustrated over your being kind of a dick right now.”
I’d rather save that for when you’re being a full-on dick. Really make that shit count.
“So we’re fighting now?” Andy growls, running his hands through his damp locks. “Because I don’t want to parade around in some ridiculous costume like I’m five-years-old?”
“No!” You all but shout, flailing your arms as you struggle to come up with the right words. “We are having a very strong disagreement because you told me one thing last week in regards to the party, and now you’re saying something completely different!”
“I have to work!”
“Oh my God, Andrew! Just say you don’t want to go!”
“Fine.” He grunts, jamming his hands into the pockets of his black sleep pants. “I don’t want to go. Halloween just isn’t my thing, okay? It never has been, baby.”
And there it was.
“Okay,” you huff, feeling deflated. “Well, that’s what you should’ve led with.”
“Sweetheart…please don’t look at me like that.” Your boyfriend reaches out to cup your jaw, his thumb delicately stroking over the apple of your cheek. “Just because I don’t enjoy that kind of kiddy shit doesn’t mean you can’t. I’ll just pick you up after. What’s wrong with that?” He asks as his deep blue eyes search your own.
Gently removing his hand, you sling your purse over your shoulder before reaching for your coat.
“There’s nothing wrong with that. I was just looking forward to spending Friday night with you at this stupid, childish party because I thought it would be fun. For both of us. We could take funny pictures and act like goofballs, maybe do the Monster Mash.”
Andy clears his throat, hating the tightness forming in his chest.
“I get that we don’t always have to like the same things, Andy. I don’t enjoy doing everything you like, but I do them because I love you. And that’s why it ends up being fun for me. Because I’m with you, you big, beautiful oaf.” Refusing to look at him, you quickly zip up your coat. “But you’ve made your point.”
“So you just threw a tantrum and now you’re leaving?” Your man growls as you brush by him.
“I’m tired and I’m feeling some kinda way right now, so I want to end things here as best I can.”
“End what?” Now he looks every bit as frustrated as you.
“This conversation.” Bridging the distance between you two, you rise up on your tiptoes to plant a small kiss on his bearded cheek. “I’ll see you on Tuesday for coffee.”
“Ah, Y/N…don’t leave. Not - not over this.”
You turn and give him one last look. “It may not be a big deal to you but, for whatever reason, it is to me. You’ve asked me to get better at expressing my feelings, even the crazy ones. Well then, here ya go.”
Heaving an exasperated sigh, Andy proceeds to follow you to the garage. He hits the button to raise the door before wrapping one brawny arm around your waist.
“I’m sorry you’re upset, sweet girl.” His soft, full lips graze the shell of your ear. “I’ll find a way to make it up to you. I know you’re hellbent on leaving, but…” You feel a slight tingle in your belly as your man gives you the look.
The kind of look that lets you know he wants nothing more than to drag you back inside and do deliciously sinful things to your little body. All you had to do was say yes.
“Sex can’t be the answer to everything, Big Man.”
“Why the hell not?” He hisses under his breath.
“I love you.” You tell him before pulling away. “I’ll call you tomorrow.”
“I love you, too. But call me when you get home. Let me know that you made it safe.”
“It’s only a twenty minute trip, Andrew.” You call out as you open your car door and climb into the driver’s seat. “I’ll be fine.”
“Do it anyway. Please.” He tacks on the last word in an attempt to soften the command.
“Fine. Goodnight.” You blow him a kiss, which he then pretends to catch and stuff in his pocket.
“Goodnight, baby girl.” Andy mumbles as he watches you back out of his garage and drive off into the night. After a moment he heads inside and locks the door. Grabbing his phone off its charger, he traipses up the stairs and unceremoniously flops down on his empty bed.
And then he waits for your call. Eventually, he falls asleep, still clutching the device in his hand.
But it never rings.
___
One Week Later…
You stand in front of the floor length bathroom mirror admiring your look for the evening. After nearly an hour of applying sparkles and makeup, you appeared every inch the glittering, golden fairy that was Iridessa.
True to his word, your boyfriend had stayed late at the office tonight, which meant you were flying solo. While his lack of interest in your favorite day of the year was disappointing to say the least, there was nothing you could do about it.
But now that you were all dressed up, how come you no longer felt like going anywhere?
While you hadn’t called Andy like you said you would that night, you did end up keeping your weekly coffee date. While the date itself had gone fine, things remained a little strained between the two of you.
And as much as you had wanted to show him your finished costume…you had held back. Because while he hadn’t said it out loud, you had the sneaking suspicion that the man who had the ability to dominate your thoughts nearly every waking moment considered your love of Halloween to be, well…juvenile.
Maybe it was the age difference. You had a feeling you’d encounter that particular barrier eventually.
Forcing yourself back to the present, you make the decision to cancel your ride with Lyft. This year, you just weren’t in the mood.
Maybe it was time you finally grew up a little, you know? It sucked. But perhaps that was the truth of it.
Turning off the light, you wander into the living room still wearing your costume. Plopping down on the sofa you turn on the television and cuddle up with a blanket. You shoot a quick text Andy, letting him know that you wouldn’t be needing him to pick up tonight after all.
He doesn’t immediately respond. Not that you expected him to anyway.
Then you proceed to flip through the channels until you settle on watching Hocus Pocus. Guess you were spending the evening with Sanderson Sisters. Letting out a weary sigh, you allow yourself to snuggle even deeper under the covers.
And so what if you got a little glitter on your couch? At least something deserved to sparkle tonight…
Even if it wasn’t you.
___
Elsewhere in Downtown Boston…
Andy stares down at his phone as he rereads your brief message for the third time.
You: Changed my mind. Staying in tonight. Don’t work too hard.
His brow furrows as he processes your words. His girl loved Halloween, that much he knew. And you had been so excited about that damned party and your costume until…
Until he had opened his big mouth and ruined it. Just because he didn’t enjoy this particular holiday dedicated to ghouls and ghosts didn’t mean he wanted you to skip it altogether. He wanted to see you happy. In fact, that’s all he ever really wanted – for you to be happy. Preferably with him.
Even when he was in the midst of pissing you off.
Andy scrubs a tired hand over his newly trimmed scruff as his brain kicks into overdrive. The way he saw it, he had two options. He could either let things ride and hope you’d move on like he hoped you would, or…
He could try to fix it. Because the thought of you sitting at home alone sadly gorging yourself on candy was enough to make his chest ache.
Resting his head on his desk, Andy begins to conjure up a plan. It wouldn’t be perfect, not that his baby girl ever expected perfection from him, but it would do. All he needed was an hour to make some magic happen.
Pushing away from his desk, he grabs his briefcase and turns off the light. And then he heads straight for the copy room.
___
An Hour Later…
You’re dozing when you hear a knock at the door. Confused, you take a moment to sit up and stretch. And then the knock sounds again, this time more insistent.
“I’m coming. I’m coming.” You grumble as you adjust the skirt of your costume. No need to put on a show for whoever was on the other side.
Rising up on your toes to look out the peephole, you’re surprised to see your boyfriend standing just outside.
What the hell?
Undoing the locks, you allow the door to swing open. And there stands your Andy Bear, his arms laden with bags.
“Hi, sweetness” He breathes, taking in your slightly rumpled form.
“Uh, hi.” You stand there for a moment, the two of you poised at the entryway.
“You look…stunning.” Andy swallows hard, his Adam’s apple bobbing up and down.
“Pretty sure my make-up looked better before I fell asleep.” You murmur. “But thanks.”
“Impossible.” His bright blue eyes rove over your body, taking in every little detail. “I can’t believe you made that yourself.” He mutters to no one in particular.
You shrug, wishing you could do something to eliminate the awkward tension between you two…
“Can I come in?”
“Yeah, of course.” You step back to let him by. Andy carries the bags into your living room before setting everything on your coffee table.
“Can we sit?” Your man nods toward the couch. “Please, baby?” His tone is soft and pleading. And his eyes…God if you looked into his gorgeous eyes you had the feeling that you'd melt on the spot.
You go to join him on the sofa, only to have him stop you.
“I want you to sit with me.”
“I was just about to, honey.” You tell him, resting your hands on your hips.
“No…it’s just – you know how I like to discuss things sometimes. Can you do that for me?”
Ohhh…he wanted you to sit with him. Got it.
Giving in, you proceed to hike up the hem of your outfit so you can sit facing him on his lap, your legs straddling his powerful thighs.
Yes, sometimes your man liked to have certain discussions while sitting just like this. You had to admit that it certainly made things a little more...intimate.
“Happy now?” You ask, doing your best to keep from squirming.
“No.” Andy murmurs before leaning in to kiss your nose. “Because you’re not happy. And I’m pretty sure I had something to do with it.”
“It’s okay, really.” You insist as you stare at some random spot on the wall just beyond his shoulder.
“It’s not.”
“It is.”
“Cut it out, Y/N. This is your favorite holiday. I knew that and I still shat all over it.” His large, warm hands go to grip your hips, giving them an affectionate squeeze. “You’ve been upset with me all week. And after thinking about it, I’m kinda upset with myself.”
All you can offer him is a shrug for his trouble. “This is kid stuff. Maybe it’s time for me to grow up a little. Be more serious like you.”
“Don’t you dare think that.” Andy groans, bouncing you on his lap in an effort to get your attention. “You bring magic to my life, Y/N. I tell you all the time that you color my world, because you do. Just by being you. Can you please look at me, sweetheart?”
With a small sigh, you give him your eyes. “I forgive you, Andy. I do. And you didn’t need to come all the way over here for this. I would’ve gotten over it eventually.”
“But that’s my point, little love. You shouldn’t have had to get over anything. You were absolutely correct when you called me a curmudgeon the other day, I just didn’t see it. And I’m sorry.” Your Big Man rests his forehead against yours.
“I’m sorry, Y/N. And I’m sorry Iridessa. Will you let this Lost Boy make it up to you?”
“Lost boy?”
Grinning rather sheepishly, Andy taps the laminated name tag clipped to his chest which reads:
Andy Barber, Lost Boy
You trace the typed words with your fingers, feeling oddly moved.
"Is this your costume, Big Man?"
He clears his throat before responding. "Uh, yeah. Kind of. I mean, I had to think fast."
You bury your face in your man's shirt as a giggle bubbles its way out of your chest.
"You're so corny sometimes, Andy Bear." You pull back to press a hard kiss to his tempting mouth. "But I love it."
"Yeah?" He breathes out, wrapping his brawny arms around your body to hold you close. "I also brought you some candy and your favorite Chinese Food. Plus, I stopped by a Redbox and rented every horror movie they had, baby."
Your man had done what? For you?
"That's so unbelievably sweet of you." You lean in to capture his mouth with your own once again, pouring every ounce of love and adoration you hold into the kiss. A small moan escapes your lips as his tongue delicately duels with yours.
You were addicted to this man, to his mind, his mouth, his taste. His everything.
"But, Andy Bear, I don't have a DVD player..." You tell him before sucking on his bottom lip.
"I jacked one from the office. I didn't have time to test it, but it should work just fine."
You stare at him for a beat, enjoying the way your heart swelled in your chest. This man, your man, could be an ass sometimes...but he always more than made up for it in his own special way.
"I love you." You tell him as you gently run your fingers through his chestnut colored locks. "You make me happy in ways I'll never be able to fully explain."
"Yeah?" He whispers, his eyes shining with complete and utter adoration. And it was all for you.
"I love you, too. You have my word that I'll do better next time." Your man holds up his pinky finger, which you readily link with your own.
"I'd suggest that we seal things with a kiss, but I think I have something better in mind."
"Oh yeah, baby girl? And what's that?" Andy purrs as he nibbles along your jaw.
"How about you take me to bed and find out?"
"Whatever you want, Iridessa." Your man growls before swooping you up and carrying you off. "Whatever you want."

It didn’t take long for Paddy to fully integrate himself into your lives. Only two months on from bringing him home as a temporary foster, the papers were being signed to permanently adopt him.
He was the perfect addition to the family, even if he did steal Andy’s spot on the couch. And while Andy knew he couldn’t put it all down to Paddy’s presence but he couldn’t help but notice an increase in your luck. Your business had boomed to the point you were now looking into getting another permanent member of staff, Andy’s case record went through the roof. Andy even found $50 in a jacket you’d picked up from a thrift shop for him.
And it was that luck Andy was counting on more than ever. He had been trying to act casual all morning because as far as you were aware all you were doing today was going on a hike with Paddy. But he’d been jumpy and nervous making you chuckle whenever he would startle after you walked into the room without him noticing.
“I’m not that scary am I?” You teased when he once again jumped when you appeared behind him just after he put Paddy in the car.
“No but I am thinking you’re trying to give me heart attack with that silent tread of yours” Andy smirks as he wraps his arm around your shoulders and pressing a kiss on your temple.
You laugh patting him on the chest “you need your hearing tested old man” you chuckle as you stepped away and climbed into the car.
Andy let out a huff of laugh before taking a deep calming breath, patting his pocket for millionth time that morning. Once he felt secure that he had everything he needed he climbed in the car and drove out towards your favourite hiking trail.
The actual hike was nothing out of the ordinary, you would hold Andy’s hand whenever you could. Laughing whenever Paddy would run ahead and look back at the pair of exasperatedly before running back and trying to herd you to go faster.
Soon enough you reached your favourite hiking spot, a small stream that flowed over boulders making multiple tiny waterfalls. You loved the babbling noise it made and often said that if tiny mythical creatures were to exist, they would live here.
Like you usually did you dropped Andy hand to go have a closer look, smiling as you watched the water run past. While you were distracted, Andy gestured for Paddy to come over and he slipped something into the treat pouch on Paddy’s harness. He then sent Paddy over to you.
“Looks like someone’s after a treat” Andy pointed out as Paddy came to a stop in front of you, wagging his tail in excitement.
“Oh well you have been a very good boy haven’t you” you grin bending down to give Paddy some fussing.
You then unzipped the pouch to grab a couple of treats but a frown of confusion then formed on your face. You pulled your hand back out and turn it over palm up to reveal the ring that Andy had hid in there.
“Andy I-“ you mutter in disbelief, turning to look at him to find him already down on one knee beside you.
“Honey, I am not an easy man to love I know, I have a million and one flaws, a pretty big one being my overly demanding job yet you see all those flaws and love me anyway” Andy start with a small shake of his head, still unable to believe that was he was saying was true “and I love you so so much, I am so so damn lucky to have you and I count my blessings everyday so I hope you don’t mind me using Paddy as a good luck charm to ask the most important question I will ever utter…” Andy continues before taking a deep breath “Y/N, Honey, will you marry me?”
Tears were flooding down your face as you grabbed him and crashed your lips down onto his. Andy wrapped his arms around you securing to stop your both from falling over.
When you parted he gently brushed some hair out of your face “can I take that as a yes” he chuckled.
“Yes” you chuckled through the tears, your hands shaking as he took the ring from you and slid it onto your finger.
He then kissed you again deeply, only pulling away when Paddy barked and whined. Paddy then wiggled his way in between you and started licking the tears off your cheeks.
“Thank you sweetie” you chuckled kissing the top of head “do you think we could train him to be the ring bearer” you ask making Andy laugh.
“Dunno but he’ll be there either way, we have to have out good luck charm with us” Andy smiles.
