Ms Stem anon here. I received my BS in Biology. As you can imagine the past couple of years have been… fun (is it really when people think you’re part of a big conspiracy, but jokes on them because have they EVER been part of a group project?) Now after working and volunteering for the past 3ish years I’m going back for, hopefully, family therapy. I like helping people face to face. And a lot of my volunteering involved pointing disenfranchised communities and those affected by C19 to resources and services they would otherwise be unaware of. The program I volunteered through also participated in fairs, provided vaccine clinics/gave vouchers, provided testing, amongst other services. My work with children involved a lot of guiding them on how to self regulate and validating their emotions/experiences while also helping them find ways to deal with them in a healthier manners. A big part of it is guiding them towards the safer choices but making sure they feel as if they came to that choice all on their own. It can be mentally taxing at times due to some having some bad home lives but it’s overall very satisfying.

Having a bio degree allows me to better advocate for myself and others medically as well as being able to better understand/scrutinize media reports on research. While I understand why there is a barrier to reading studies to avoid people without the background to misconstrue it, we also allow for misinformation to persist as there is significant scientific illiteracy going on. There should be a way to better communicate with those lacking the education and training we receive.

Spiel aside… the babies will continue to suffer and I support… it makes me a well rounded individual. I’m excited to see what will ultimately happen with them. There are a lot of implications for their, and kids, future. Not only did girly pop marry and procreate with the enemy, he is technically heir to the thrown as will be her children. But hey maybe one day they’ll have all their memories and remember that they were into each other pre-brainwashing. What with their awkward flirting and katara “keeping an eye on him.”

Ooh I did read the fic that inspired yours. Hopefully one day that one will be continued (i hope the author is doing, and does, well regardless of whether they do or don’t continue it).

omg you’ve done so much meaningful work <333 i don’t think the General Public really understands just how hard covid hit already-disenfranchised people/those who experience health disparities. and it still is hitting hard!!! btw one of my besties is a family therapist (liv, tell me i'm right..) and i always admire her tenacity to provide meaningful sessions to her clients even when she’s burnt out or compassion fatigued <3 it is not easy work

and thank you for the note about sirius! there's plenty of characters in this fic who put on a facade to hide their insecurities but sirius does it in a very specific, very mercurial way i find so fun to write. sometimes he lets people take knocks at him, other times he just will not have it—and that spark of pride/defiance feels very much like a residue of his life at his parents' house.

Berlin show review if you feel like it? (no pressure) (nose pressure)

okay SO

i know i've been putting this off for over a week now but the Berlin weather made me sick (@ dan I'm waiting for financial compensation) and then i also started a new job on Monday so between that and feeling like i was dying i didn't have much time 😭

but i do feel a bit better today so here's some thoughts about wad Berlin:

Berlin public transportation my belothed, i will never stop being angry at the nonexistent yellow ticket machines

the venue, the concrete circus, i really enjoyed the aesthetic of it (and the smell of popcorn) and how fast the lines outside were moving? honestly unheard of

of course i loved seeing the staging in its full glory, the stairs, the lights, the cubes. I'm so glad i got a chance to see it after we got robbed in Warsaw

that being said, i was sitting on a balcony and while it gave me a good view of the stage (and let my poor neck rest after the first row in Warsaw), like i said to you before, i did feel like i was watching the people downstairs watching the show a bit. although it definitely also had something to do with how i was feeling mentally at the time. in Warsaw i felt so.. idk focused? in the moment? and the first row seat helped with that for sure, i was just looking at dan and nothing else, in Berlin i was more distracted, but also i didn't feel the pressure to absorb as much as possible since it was my second time seeing the show i guess? idk, a lot of things impacted this but i still had so much fun!! my face still hurt from smiling and my throat from screaming and also the chair was definitely kinder for my back lmao

i was surprised by how many things that i thought were improvised based on audience responses were actually scripted? which I'm not mad about, it just shows how good an actor dan really is

most of the Germany-specific bits went right over my head, which was predictable lol but also i feel like i understood a couple of jokes that i didn't quite get the first time around (don't ask me for specifics, i don't remember)

i feel so honored that i could see the two people dressed as slutty nuns in person, the way they were dancing together during the interlude is now forever engraved in my brain

the fact that dan didn't run away from us after the show this time was also really nice, I'm barely visible in the group selfie he took but I'm there and I'm glad i did wait those 10 more minutes or i would be so mad at myself lol

and of course it was so nice to see you, Katie, Jo, and Jana again and also meet Andrea (and other people whose names i can't remember for the life of me 💀) <3

i feel like i already forgot most of what happened, this week felt like a month and my brain is only now starting to work properly again but overall - did i enjoy the Warsaw show more? yes. am i still glad that i saw it again? absolutely.

i wrote my first crossover fic! they're not usually my thing so it seemed kinda wild to do but i was really surprised how naturally the characters worked together. plus i was really happy to see a few other people excited about it 👍

What’s something you learned about yourself as a writer?

i learned a lot about myself and my identity through writing characters i love! especially exploring relationship anarchy and other non-traditional relationships, it gave me the language to describe how i feel about my friends and people who are important to me overall 💞

also that i'm way more likely to get a fic done if i can crank out a draft/outline in one sitting 😭🙏

What piece of media inspired you the most?

nu: carnival! i’m thriving with relationship anarchy being built into the canon 😩👌

sk8, nu:c, and one deltarune fic! also posted some one piece but it was stuff i wrote the previous year

the sk8 cast polycule, primarily four wheels (adam/langa/reki/tadashi), kept me Running for a good chunk of the year. i love all the different dynamics and history between the characters and it's really fun to explore how they can work in all different ways.

also some combinations of quincy/kuya/blade of nu: carnival, there's a lot of fun (potential) history going on there and i have Many more ideas i'd like to execute in 2023

Reki hadn’t thought about it that way… but it made perfect sense. All four of them met up plenty, whether for their regular check-ins or just a nice dinner. He liked his moments alone with Langa, and with Ainosuke, but he liked seeing everyone together just as much.

”Tadashi likes you,” Ainosuke continued. “He may not always show it, but he’s fond of you. He likes spending time with you. He gets plenty of alone time with me already— and if he needs more, he knows he can talk to me about it.” He gave Reki another kiss, this one on the nose. “You’re not intruding. I promise.”

What’s something that surprised you while you were working on a fic? Did it change the story?

i don’t have specific examples but certain characters (particularly ainosuke) love taking the wheel and changing the entire course of the fic so that’s always an adventure

just google docs! sometimes also a word counter app on my phone if i’m writing quick drabbles

not necessarily Just writing but fandom rhythm vol 1 going live

not in particular, my fics tend to be on the shorter side so i’m just like 🎉 woo time to post

actually been reading a lot more in these past few months, particularly outside the fandoms i write for which has been LOVELY

What’s something you want to write in 2023?

i think i’d like to finish my big four wheels fic! it’s a silly one based on a cheesy romcom and i have it all outlined i’m just. always tired and swamped with events and deadlines. but i’m hoping to sign up for less and focus more on my own stuff, less on current trends or w/e and just write things i want to write at my own pace.

it’d also be fun to write for a new fandom! i got really into deltarune, supernatural, and fnaf this year and it’d be fun to explore those more in fic ✨

while trying to distract myself from a brake up i’ve been just hanging out with friends & writing more & being much more creative. i’ve been feeling good. while still the brake up sucks because i loved her so much ultimately she let me go to work on herself 🤷

going to have this big screening soon & its going to be my first. invited literally all my friends & it’s looking good on about 30ish people coming through :)

hung out with some people i’ve never hung out with before but they’re mad chill, it fr was just nice to be with a group of people & feel like a teenager.

they lowkey gave me a trauma dump about people in their shop but it was mad funny 😭🙏🏼 learned sm about some people LMAOOO

i also won an award & $200 for my short film. that same short won me $100 & a different award before so that’s cool. if that film can get me $300 & 2 awards i can’t imagine what this next film will bring me that i’ve finish, literally the best thing ive ever made. i’m also already onto the next video, still planning it out but i tried to film something like this last year but it got ruined 😭 & the footage was ass & like yeah my birthday kind of was bwomp, this year will be different though i got this planned out so i hope the mom tbh goes by better. very excited for my future in film

i also have a college tour happening soon. emerson i think is going to be my school, i was against having a dorm but nothing holding me back now, ive fallen in love with the city i want to be there & live my life a little. emerson also allows you to go to their LA campus for a semester so 👀…

very excited for this weekend with my friend as well, getting FUN this week so the boston fun will be enhanced a little. + heading to the mall with a friend sometime next week & we gonna have some fun too with the penjamin LMAO

overall this roughly 2 week period (less than that) has been challenging for me in terms of losing someone i loved a lot on a random friday, but every day i find my peace with it a little more. i guess it’s mad cope on my end but it’s okay, she had to let me go to spread her wings & while i didn’t intend on also spreading my wings, like shits been moving along for me in creative work & gaining new friends to hang with.

finally feeling like a teenager two months before i’m an adult LMAOOO 18 y’know but will technically be an adult so…

~ You know February was a lot of fun! Even though it is a short month I feel like a lot of stuff happened, surprisingly all good too! Mmm except someone from my college gave me strep throat bc they decided to still go to class and not stay home😭 But I’m all better now thank goodness! I made a new friend this month! They are my best friend soulmate honestly🥹💛  I’ve been having a blast getting to know them and just talking about nothing and everything at the sametime! It’s crazy how well you can click with someone you know!? I have been super busy with school bc midterms are coming up😭 and I’m behind in some series I wanna read🥲 But hopefully I’ll have some free time soon to just binge read everything! OOOhh omg I have also started writing my own fics this month! It’s been a so much fun really!! I’m glad I was able to push myself to share and step out of my comfort zone with writing!!😌💛 And the love I’ve been getting is so crazy! It just motivates me more in writing! I now have first hand experience in how reblogging and comments really do help writers! thoughts on this years eurovision? im like mildly disappointed ngl. like there are so many ballads and slow songs and barely any fun ones. i can't even get invested in an act to root for on Saturday😔

Overall I think the quality I think is pretty high, especially in semi final 1 I found myself enjoying pretty much every other entry. Oh my god, look away anon 🙈🙈 Portugal's saudade saudade is my absolute hands down ride or die I-will-vote-20-times favourite. I started tentatively checking out this year's entries on Spotify like 2 or so weeks ago and this one got me immediately. It's just so beautiful, starts off slow and delicate but then builds up and there's an interesting beat and clapping segment, the lyrics are touching, it combines the artist's native language and English...It gave me all the Sebchal feels; I looped it like a hundred times, I cried, I loved it. So yeah, even if it doesn't win it's pretty much the song that defined my Eurovision experience this year. ❤️

In a similar vein, Italy's would-be 2020 entry, Fai rumore, completely got me. The way they brought the singer back for semi final 1 and gave him the performance he was robbed of due to the the pandemic, the way the crowd sang along with him...floored me tbh. Again, the lyrics are beautiful, and discovering the ~context behind the song made me appreciate it even more. Not this year's entry I know but shh. Incredibly sad but so so good. 😭❤️

On the topic of Italy and ballads (if you classify this one as such): Brividi is a top 5 for me. I like Poland! One of the few years we don't suck tremendously, though it gets overplayed a lot and I feel like I've heard it 36458 times already at this point jsjdf Oh, and Sweden's growing on me. My brain is defaulting to associating everything with Sebchal so that probably helps somewhat sjdfjg

I liked North Macedonia's Circles in semi final 2 but it didn't make the cut so :/ Oh and Cyprus!!! Reminds me vaguely of my dear beloved Secret Combination from 2008 (she podiumed!!!!!!!). But I feel like it's definitely one that's, er...better in the studio version rather than the live performance. It'll live on my Spotify I suppose jsjf Kind of enjoying the retro vibe in Lithuania's entry but not like a fave either.

As for the more upbeat/out there ones, I like Ukraine's entry! And ofc Give That Wolf A Banana is iconic and insanely loopable jsdefjrg Also I feel like this an unpopular opinion but Austria had me bopping ngl 🕺🏻And France as well, I'm kind of intrigued 👀

I feel so weird about Space Man (which is currently sitting in 2nd according to bookmakers) because like. Yeah I like it I suppose but also it feels like a generic song I've heard on the radio before. Forgettable, I guess. :/

i gotta ask bc i know you listen to taz too, how has the new season been making you feel? i genuinely dont like travis' dming (and i feel like part of a crowd saying that but i just can't make myself enjoy it even half as much as griffins dming 😭) and i feel like he doesnt play along with the jokes as much as i personally would like. id like to hear your take bc i respect ur taste so much (like if u enjoy it a lot dont let me be a downer!)

idk i have some complicated feelings abt it, i do find it pretty fun and light hearted and entertaining overall bc it's still the mcelroys. i'm trying to keep an open mind that the characters and relationships aren't gonna be as developed so early in the podcast, like when we started with amnesty. i think the plot is ok, i really like how there's not much dnd (i think a big weakness of taz balance was the boring fight scenes like the whole final boss battle with john and the lights was stupid imo). there's lots of potential for big thematic lessons (commentary on respecting indigenous or religious ppl's beliefs and not just saying "well scientifically it's not real so it doesn't matter", and exploring the issue with expecting heroes to be self sacrificial bc it's literally just a job, while also acknowledging the fact that it's in the job description to be honorable and help, and how the crux of the issue is that they essentially live in a capitalist world and no career is perfectly ethical bc you're gonna be working for corporations that exist to make money, so the solution is to dismantle the system itself). whether this ever actually comes up in the podcast however is up in the air ofc

travis is pretty annoying and i rly feel u on the fact that he kinda stops jokes in their tracks, i feel like he does this thing where he berates the PCs over not knowing what he's talking abt?? like the whole lock picking practice with argo, or any conversation between argo and his mentor really annoys me bc he talks to argo like a dumb child. i also can't stand listening to travis's ad breaks lmao. and his editing is so bad, there's so many pauses that i don't understand why they're there?? it's probably the most noticable issue of the podcast, they really interrupt the flow and break immersion

and this is more of an issue i have with the PCs decisions specifically griffin's, but i'm really put off by their "creative solutions" to the tasks at hand. i get that a big running joke in the world of the podcast is how financial and business-y everything is, but delivering a subpoena to the monster?? i personally didn't find it as funny as they seemed to think it was. esp considering the monster's personality and self awareness, it seemed exploitative like r they the fucking IRS?? and right now they're trying to stay respectful to the centaurs' culture but they're not succeeding at all. yeah they have to progress the story but the message they're sending is really not ok. there's so many alternative solutions too, like investigating a little harder why the tree only gave 1 fruit. it just bothers me like what exactly are they trying to say abt what's ok and not ok when dealing with unfamiliar religions and cultures??

first of all, i am really glad that you feel that way, because your work is really good, and you deserve all the compliments! :)

also, i just read your Death Note au, and i thought that it was really worth it to tell you about it, too, as it seems to make you happy, too.

it's really cool that you choose a manga as reference because it gives context without the need for exposition. however, i do understand that the reader has to be familiar with the manga, but i think that this piece can be read without. i like how you appropriated the universe, so i don't think that exposition is needed, which is a charm of your writing, i would say.

i enjoyed the relationship between the characters. please tell me if i am wrong, but it feels like Minho is somehow trying to convince himself that the reader doesn't have anything to do with the Kira thing, and i think that part shows that he might be the most morally-human in the room.

there again, i love how you wrote the reader cruel and cunning. the reader's morale doesn't tip toward good, and it is great to read about another part of the psyche spectrum, if that makes sense. i guess that being a bad person doesn't make you less of a person, so it is interesting to read about such a character.

i appreciate the tension, it was pretty similar to Death Note's and greatly enjoyable. also how Hyunjin would add fuel to the reader's speech, without Minho knowing.

i was confused about how you came up with this au, then i realized that it is thanks to the Oddinary teaser. i am truly amazed at how creative you are.
