#but why would i want to pay for them to send me a physical ticket if i could just print my own for free WHY WON'T THEY LET ME?? đ
because today seems like a great day to make unwise decisions, I secured my ticket to BC's Berlin show and am about to do so with Leipzig as well, but is it just me or is there no pdf-ticket (⏠0.00) available for Leipzig?! đ¤¨

Anthonyâs Stupid Daily Blog (297):Â Sat 7th Jan 2023
I switched on the tv by the sockets this morning to check out the rest of the Lakers ca Kings game from last night but for some reason the fucker wouldnât turn on. I was pressing the direction button on the remote and I could hear clicking noises coming from the tv but I wasnât getting any picture. I went into the Argos website to their costumer service chat and asked what the fuck was going on with my fucking TV. Annoyingly even though I made it perfectly clear at the start of the chat that I had tried turning off the tv at the plug and restarting it but it hadnât worked, literally the first thing he responded with was âCan you try turning it off at the plug and restarting it?â. After pretending to try it again I told him that it still hadnât worked. He asked if he could see any light coming from the top of the TV which I couldnât and the guy deduced that the lights in the inside of the tv had gone. He asked me when I bought the TV and because it was over two years ago the warranty had run out and I would need to either take it to a repair shop or buy a new one. Normally Iâd be pissed off about this but thereâs another TV in my sisters old room so Iâll just swap it. In fact this tv is a little bigger than mine so Iâm actually in a better position than I was before. From one piece of good news to another, I went downstairs to check for post and found that MY CHEQUE FROM HMRC FINALLY ARRIVED AFTER SEVEN FUCKING MONTHS! These useless pricks told me in May that theyâd taken ÂŁ1000 in tax from me that they shouldnât have and I was due to get it back in the form of a cheque. However for some reason that I canât fathom it takes them three months or more to send cheques out which is moronic. I donât understand why they canât just stick a stamp on it and gave it with you in a week, you know like everyone else who wants to send something to someone without physically taking it to them does. Also if you watch WWEâs Insurrextion pay per view from 2003 and look into the crowd before the Goldust vs Rico match youâll see someone running down an aisle towards a row near the entrance way. That someone is me, so my celebrity status should get me my cheque delivered even quicker than most common scum get theirs. Well anywho, at least justice has finally been done and Iâve gotten my money back. With this sweet sweet cash in my account it basically means that the government have paid for my WrestleMania and LA Lakers tickets which was awfully nice of them.

Love it? OWN it.
Being physically active gives a human so much more than just a banging body but gives that person a high that not many can explain. The feeling of the adrenaline rushing through your body every rep in each exercise to an increased heartrate that challenges you to go for that extra mile. When someone has that much passion and love for the gym and what it does for themselves, why not help others do the same? Be the reason why someone feels that high in the gym when they hit their PR or lose that stubborn weight that they have been yearning to lose for 10 years now. Do something about it and own it.
Orangetheory offers a franchise opportunity that can make you that person who helps change peopleâs lives in your very own community for friends and family. The Orangetheory corporate team helps you every step of the way when building on to their successful brand. The biggest factor when it comes to being an entrepreneur is evaluating the startup costs and how much it will cost you until the business is fully up and running. Nothing is cheap, especially with inflation rates at a history breaking all time high, but Orangetheory has made up a detailed plan to where a franchise owner should have little to no surprises while building the studio. Now letâs kill the mood and talk numbers. On the lower end of startup costs to start up an Orangetheory franchise can be around $500,000 and could go upwards of 1 million dollars with a lot of variables to think about. Every location goes for a different price tag, for example, a space for rent in Buckhead, Georgia would be substantially more than a space for rent in Canton, Georgia. The franchise cost goes towards leasehold improvements, rent, and the workout equipment necessary for the studio depending on the size of the space. It is a no brainer that bigger the space will require more money for extra equipment and amenities that members can access. A must that Orangetheory corporate requires per studio owner is that they have a net worth of over $500,000 and attain $150,000 in liquid assets to qualify for the opportunity to franchise the Orangetheory brand. Thatâs for startup costs, now letâs mention the ongoing expenses to own an Orangetheory franchise. Franchisees are required to pay an 8% royalty and a 1% brand fund contribution of gross revenue. On top of that there is a monthly advertising fee that is about $4,000, $250 yearly refresher course per employee, and a $1000 ticket per person the owner is willing to send to the annual conference is Las Vegas, Nevada.
After spending a ton of money to build the beautiful studio that you worked so hard for⌠how do you make a profit? Franchisees of Orangetheory studios make their money through the sales of different memberships that they have to offer. For example, the studio closest to me in Marietta, Georgia goes for $79 basic membership that offers 4 classes a month, $129 elite membership that offers 8 classes a month, and $199 unlimited membership that lets members take as many classes as they want a month. If a member that holds a basic membership wants to take an additional class, they can pay $27 on top of their membership, which is a great opportunity for the sales associates to make a pitch to their members to upgrade to the next package to save them money if it is a recurring act! The question of how much a studio owner makes in profit a year is hard to say given every studio has many moving pieces that are different from another, but I will say I havenât seen a studio go out of business!
Be the change and OWN!!

𼺠that mike lange story. But also those tags #sid loooves christmas #he loves giving presents #looks good in red #piles on the pounds fast #post hockey career as santa đđđđ˝đđ˝
he loves his mementos and presents and is COMMITTED to them. scrapbooking. matching jackets. little pills with hidden motivational messages~*~ his love language is gifts and neck smooches and stalking geno. relevant right now are some anecdotes i sent a friend earlier this year for dorky sid gifts fic fodder:
1. Crosby's constant thoughtfulness would be impressive from anyone, much less someone of his stature.
"Sid always texts me happy birthday, he's always asking me like, how's Russia?" Evgeni Malkin said. "We talk and message all summer. He asks me how my skates are. He knows, like, everything. He follows my Instagram, I think (laughs)."
In addition to having a handle on those little details, Crosby is constantly providing those around him with memories and mementos. If the team is on the road and goes, say, sightseeing or to a sporting event and takes a group photo, Crosby will later send a framed copy to everyone.
When Ron Hextall and Brian Burke watched their first Penguins game in person, Crosby is the one who approached head equipment manager Dana Heinze and asked for two used game pucks to give to the new GM and president of hockey ops.Â
After the Penguins won in 2009, Crosby had jackets made for the three players on the team who had scored a Cup-clinching goal in Game 7: Talbot (Pittsburgh), Ruslan Fedotenko (Tampa Bay) and Mike Rupp (New Jersey).
"They were blue jackets with gold buttons, and each one had a patch on it that said 'GWG Game 7,'" Talbot said. "At one of our first team meals the next season, he presented us with the jackets and did a big ceremony with the music and stuff. We had a private room in the restaurant. I still have the jacket."

2. Merz: My first interaction with Sid was when we were on the bench, guys were talking about a teammate, and the first thing this 15-year-old says is, âHey, guys. Letâs keep everything positive. Donât talk about your teammates that way.â
Salcido: When we were getting ready for nationals, he found these little pills that you could put a hidden message inside. They unscrewed, and inside was a tiny scroll. He gave one to every teammate. ⌠He had everyone fill one out. He didnât tell anyone what to write, but he made it known that we all knew what the goal was: winning nationals. So we wrote on our scrolls, rolled them up and put them in the pill thing. We kept them with us everywhere we went.

3. On âButterfly Boyâ Jonathan Pitre:
Though the Senators are his team, Sidney Crosby has always been Jonnyâs favourite player. After the TSN documentary airs, Tina gets a call from the Penguins. Sid needs Jonnyâs measurements. He wants to have a suit made for him by his personal tailor, Domenico Vacca.
âItâs the kindest, sweetest gesture,â Tina says. âSid heard that Jonny went to a lot of games, so he wants him to look like heâs one of the guys.â
âI want him to feel like a pro,â Crosby says. âHereâs a guy who is going through something so painful, and his first thought is always, âHow can I help others?â When I was young, Iâd watch on TV the players coming to the rink in their suits. That was a cool part of being an NHL player. I want him to feel that, to make it as real as possible for him.â
Tina tries to discreetly measure Jonny while sheâs changing his dressings. But heâs way too smart for that.
âUm, Mom, why are you measuring me? Am I going for surgery again?â he asks.
âNo, no!â Tina replies, trying to reassure him and come up with a good lie, all in the same breath. âThe doctor needs them just to make sure they have proper dressings next time you are in.â
A few weeks later, the sharp navy blue suit shows up at their front door, along with a couple of ties, an autographed stick and a handwritten letter from Sid.Â
âHis eyes just light up,â Tina says. âJonny always liked to be well-dressed, and he just loves having his own suit. It fits perfectly. He looks so good in it.â

4. Pascal Dupuis inspired his Pittsburgh Penguins teammates on their run to the Stanley Cup, and Sidney Crosby found a special way of driving that message home.
Dupuis retired in December with lingering health concerns because of blood clots. Despite his NHL playing days coming to an end, the veteran forward remained an integral part of the Penguins and was in uniform to hoist the Cup after Pittsburgh's six-game win against the San Jose Sharks in the Stanley Cup Final.
On Sunday, Dupuis brought the Cup home one last time as a player to share a special day with his family, friends and hometown fans.
"Yes, it does feel bittersweet a little bit," Dupuis said. "You get the Cup, you want to celebrate. But at the same time I got a gift by the mail [Saturday]. Basically, it's a book of all the pictures of all the good stuff we went through. It came from Nova Scotia, so you guys can figure out who it came from (Crosby), but he couldn't give it to me during the season, he saw me skating a little bit.
"And he sent it [Saturday], before my day with the Cup, so he knew what he was doing to get me right here," Dupuis said, putting his fist over his heart.

5. In 2011, Crosby was out of the lineup with a concussion, and the Penguins made their annual visit to Childrenâs Hospital.
Crosby got along so well with one boy there and was so touched that he later asked Bullano to go back... just the two of them, no cameras, no attention.
When Bullano and Crosby met for the follow-up visit, Crosby appeared clutching a pair of Toys âRâ Us bags, filled with a Transformer toy the two had discussed.
âHe literally bought every type of this toy they make,â Bullano said. â[Crosby] had never seen it before and thought it was so cool.
âThere are no pictures of this. Thereâs no video. He was laying in the bed with the kid. They were just playing. We were there for over two hours. I got to know the mom really well because we were just sitting there.
âThe kid had no idea. Didnât expect it. They had no idea he was coming. We got there and he said, âHey buddy. hope you donât mind that I came back.â The kid couldnât believe it.
â[Crosbyâs] crazy cool about stuff like that.â
Whatâs crazy is trying to recount the many times stuff like this has happened with Crosby:
⢠The Little Penguins Learn to Play program has been around for nine seasons, outfitting now 1,200 kids with free head-to-toe hockey equipment. Not only does Crosby serve as the face of the program â which the NHL has now adopted â but he helps fund it, too.
âThereâs an awareness of what a person in his position can bring,â Penguins vice president of communications Tom McMillan said. âI think he activates that as much as anybody Iâve seen during his playing career.â
⢠After a recent practice, Crosby noticed a local family in the Penguins dressing room, approached them, introduced himself, learned their story and wound up giving them a signed stick.
Nobody asked Crosby to do that, and he wanted zero credit when discussing it a couple days later.
âFor people who have the opportunity to come in here, people dealing with certain things, if you can brighten their day a bit or spend some time with them, itâs something thatâs special for all of us,â Crosby said.
⢠A few years ago, through a team charity event, Crosby befriended a 4-year-old Amish boy with cancer. Crosby remarked to Bullano how much he loved talking to the boy because of how engaging the boy was and how he wasnât consumed with technology. Crosby even tried to visit the boy but learned he had passed away.
⢠He learns the first and last names of the kids who attend his hockey school in Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia.
âTwo kids came from Japan its first year,â Bullano recalled. âHe was so blown away by that. He couldnât wait to meet them.â
⢠Earlier this season, the Penguins welcomed Grant Chupinka, 24-year-old cancer patient, into the dressing room. Crosby chatted up Grant and his parents, Steve and Kim.
He spent his usual time â about two or three times the requirement. Gave the tour. Then found out the Chupinkas didnât have tickets for that nightâs game and decided he would pay for them to go.
âIâm sure he could just give them an autographed puck or something, but he takes his time to go out and see them and talk to them and get to know them,â Brian Dumoulin said. âIt speaks volumes for him and who he is as a person.â
Spend any length of time with Crosby during his visits with those less fortunate, and a few things become obvious.
One, Crosby is really good at these. Smooth but not in a slimy way. Sweet. You know how when youâre around someone talking and they go out of their way to make eye contact with everyone around? Thatâs Crosby.
Heâs also humble, always introducing himself like those heâs meeting donât already know. Holding a hand is no issue. And Crosby is the rare 20-something pro athlete without kids who acts every bit like he does.
âIt is not an easy situation to talk to someone with terminal cancer,â McMillan said. âA lot of people couldnât do that. He has an amazing ability to do that and make that person feel good.â
Crosby has welcomed several Make-a-Wish kids and tries, if at all possible, to schedule such events for practice days â to maximize the time heâs able to spend.
Heâs developed a special friendship with Patrick McIlvain, a soldier who nearly died when he took a bullet to the head in Afghanistan. McIlvain actually does physical therapy with one of Crosbyâs sticks.
A former club hockey player at Cal U, McIlvain comes by every year, and the Penguins donât even bother to tell Crosby. Either he already knows or immediately stops what heâs doing to come say hello.
âHeâs not doing it to leave a legacy,â said Terry Kalna, Penguins vice president of sales and broadcasting. âHis numbers leave the legacy. Heâs just a down-to-Earth, good guy.â
Before a visit, Crosby has Bullano email him what is essentially a scouting report on who heâs going to meet. He likes to learn about them, their situation and what theyâve been through. As much information as he can ingest. Crosby never just swoops in, shake a hand and leave.
âAs much as anyone has ever seen, he accepts the responsibilities of being not just a professional athlete but a star professional athlete,â McMillan said. âHe views it as part of the job. Like coming to the morning skate. Thatâs just what you do.â
Put another way, âhe owns those moments,â says Kalna.
Said Bullano, âHeâs just a good human being.â
-When it comes to giving, Sidney Crosby does as much as he can, Feb 2017
6. When Crosby received a generous signing bonus on his Reebok deal, he wanted to share it with everyone.
âHe gave everyone on the bus gifts,â says Oceanic radio commentator Michel Germain. âHim sharing his bonus with all the people heâd been travelling with for two years, that impresses me greatly. I think the most important thing about Sidney Crosby is his personality and the kind of human being he is. What he exuded. The inner richness heâd already developed.âÂ
-Superstitious and generous, Dec 2006
7. also this simply because it makes me ;w;
Even in defeat â no, especially in defeat â Sidney Crosby proved why he wears the "C" for the Penguins.
After the game, with his heart sinking and his season over, the Penguinsâ captain bent over, sank to the ice to pick up the puck, took it to linesman Tony Sericolo and then skated to his teamâs handshake line.
I immediately thought of a View from Ice Level Iâd written on Crosby making sure a retiring official was sent away from PPG Paints Arena properly. I knew picking up the puck wasnât for the same reason that was, but I also knew, in some way, it was connected to Crosbyâs awareness and respect of the game.
âIt was for the Islanders,â Crosby told me after the game, his eyes swollen from a first round exit â by way of a sweep to make it worse. He told me how the winning team always wanted the puck, and it was his way of providing it for the Islanders.
Crosby looked me right in the eye as he told me this, just as he did with every other member of the media to come to him after the loss.
I could tell from those swollen eyes and the way he sat at his stall, by himself with his hands folded as he stared blankly, that Sidney Crosby is much more used to being on the receiving end of a puck when a series ends than he is at retrieving it for the winning team.
That scene. His swollen eyes. Staying in the locker room until most had left â talking to anyone who needed him. Most of all, though, picking up the puck that prompted my question in the first place and making sure the right people got their piece of their own history.
It all adds up to one thing: In victory and in defeat, Crosby respects the game above all else â just as heâs always done.
-Even in defeat, Crosby shines, April 2019

first date headcanons
attack on titan (modern au)
summary: some first date headcanons with some of the attack on titan characters.Â
warnings: none, just fluff :)
eren jaeger: movieÂ
a little basic but itâs all eren could come up with
besides, it was between a movie and dinner and dinner felt too formal so yâall decided on a movie
heâd let you pick the movie tho
he might argue with you if itâs something stupid and claim that itâs horribly written (as if he knows a thing) but thatâs it
eren would make sure to get the BEST snacks. spicy food? check. candy? check. popcorn? check. fruits? check.
he just wants to impress you (even if he did have to confide in his friends for some advice)
he just really likes you
during the movie, you guys would start shifting closer to each other, both a little too timid to move all the way all at once
but you guys would make commentary throughout the movie, laughing when things seem too clichĂŠ or when a character says something funny
half way throughout the movie, you guys arenât even really paying attention it it
youâre too busy throwing popcorn at each other and trying to catch it in your mouths, feeding each other candy, and giggling at each other
itâs intimate in its own relaxed way, which makes eren realize how perfect you are
you both could make the most out of a pretty average first date situation and make it into a beyond amazing first date
and that was all he needed to ask you on a second date before he dropped you off at your car, walking with you to make sure you got there safely
and ngl youâd be a bit of a fool to say no to eren
armin arlert: aquariumÂ
sweetheart is so nervousÂ
before he came to your apartment to pick you up for your date, he was a little nervous wreckÂ
he was fidgeting with his fingers, playing with the buttons on his shirt--he probably accidentally opened one by accidentÂ
but once he saw you, he felt fineÂ
it was as if he physically melted, you just make everything okayÂ
once you guys got to the aquarium, he would NOT shut up
he was probably pointing things out, telling you fun facts, asking you what is your favorite marine lifeÂ
âoh, you like pufferfish? thatâs cool! i like them too. theyâre very... puffy.âÂ
heâs like a child in a candy storeÂ
but while heâs rambling about how the digestive system of a sea cucumber basically cleans the ocean, heâs wondering how he should make a moveÂ
he doesnât want to scare you off or anything, but he doesnât want you to be disappointedÂ
but while you guys are looking at one of those large fish tanks, the ones where you walk through a tunnel, you guys just sort of stand there and watch in awe
or rather armin watches in awe while you look at him, a soft smile gracing his pink lips as his eyes dart across the illustriously blue colored glass
and when he feels your pinky latch onto his, heâs a little shocked that you had made the first move
he didnât not expect it per say, he just thought that he would be the one to make the first moveÂ
but his overthinking got in the way
and when he turns to look down at your intertwined pinkies, he caught you sending him a delicate smile that made his heart squeeze until he felt as if every part of him was on fire
but it was him who finally held your hand fullyÂ
he just needed you to give him the extra push
mikasa ackerman: book storeÂ
itâs a very calming atmosphere, which is something youâd both need for this first date
mikasa is probably pretty anxious for the first date, and wants to make sure youâre okay and enjoying yourself while also making sure sheâs okay and enjoying herself
so the calming scent of the book store and the quietness is perfect for her to multitask between mediating the two
youâd both be tasked with picking each other books and then buying them for each other
so initially mikasa was nervous because she wasnât sure what to get you but then you asked what she liked to read and so that allowed her to ask the same, making the situation less stressful
and all while you two are walking from isle to isle, eyes scanning the various book titles and covers, she sneaks glances at you and how pretty you look
and the fact that you seem very deep in thought, heavily concentrated on getting her the right book, makes her feel less concerned on whether or not youâd rather be with her or not
the answer is obviously a yes but mikasa has a hard time understanding that sometimes
so when you give her the book you bought for her, making sure to lightly touch her fingers while you hand it to her, she already knows that another date is what she wants you both to have or else sheâll probably explode
and based off of how flushed she looks, the possibility of her exploding is not highly unlikely
you guys will sit at this little table in the corner of the store, reading your books
i can picture mikasa annotating certain lines that remind her of you, making mental notes to show you later
overall, the date is pretty lowkey and very sweet
connie springer: dave + busters/bowling
ok thereâs not much of an explanation for this one besides the point that if feels right
like connie is pretty energetic and i feel like you can learn a lot about a person based off of the games theyâre drawn toÂ
hence the arcade
i think connie really likes those racing games or the zombie shooting games
he also claims heâs really good at ski ball (heâs not, heâs trash)
so a good portion of the date consists of you just laughing at him the whole time cuz in all honestly heâs not the best at games but he enjoys them for the fun of them
heâd definitely cheer you on when you were playing or try to mess you up if it was you two against each other
but either way heâd give you a hug or a pat on the head after every game
even if u beat him
heâd probably try to sneak a kiss when you guys were in one of those shooting games that requires a booth and the curtains drawn (does that make sense?)
itâs not really romantic like at all, especially since it smells like a million different people in there, but itâs very low stress so in all honesty thatâs what makes the kiss nice
and after you guys had used up all your tokens, youâd combine your tickets and pick something together
your prizes would mostly consist of candy and him insisting he get you a plastic gem ring so you can always remember your first date together
it was also his little, strange way of asking you for a second date
levi ackerman: art museumÂ
unlike connie, heâs not super energetic
so a museum is right up his alley
leviâs a bit awkward, he doesnât really know how to talk to you
and especially since youâre lovely, his words jumble together and he gets all flustered
so a nice, quiet museum exhibit is perfect for him
itâs a nice balance between casual and formal, so you both dress nice but arenât restricted by the need to be super polite and stuff
heâd probably like it when you try to imitate the poses that are shown in the paintings or sculptures
just imagine the soft chuckle heâd be unable to prevent from escaping his lips which then melts into a soft smirk
beautiful, beautiful lad
he probably wouldnât join you though, he doesnât want to embarrass himself
he just smiles at you and stares at the art, reading the background info they give on those little plates near them
but he would notice when you stare at him
he could be looking at some art made during the dutch golden age, but as soon as your head slightly tilted in his direction, his cheeks would HEAT up
you almost asked him if he was feeling alright he was so red
but as the date went on, levi really just thought about how much he enjoyed your presence
and heâs not a wicked talkative guy so being able to feel comfortable with someone even if you arenât talking or doing much is pretty important to him
as the date concludes, levi finally works up the courage to place his hand on your shoulder, asking if there was anything else you wanted to see before the museum closes for the day
his face might be bright red, but the smile you give him makes him feel a little less embarrassed
what can you say, youâve got charm đ
hange: the fucking zoo
ok i wonât lie when i got the idea of hange taking you to the zoo for your first date i thought it was so funny and idk why
like theyâd be so excited that theyâd nearly forget that theyâre on a date with you
theyâd drag you around from exhibit to exhibit, pointing out the exact breed of tortoise or some really strange fact about the zebras without looking at the little description panel in front of the exhibit
itâs pretty comical
but then randomly, when you guys are sitting down and eating some fries from one of the concession stands, they start going on a rant about animal cruelty and how a lot of zoos donât treat the animals properly
and youâre just sitting there like âwhat đ§ââď¸â cuz theyâre mood changed so quickly LMAO
and as soon as their rant started, it finishes and theyâre rushing you to the reptile exhibit
theyâd probably try to figure out if they could hold one of the snakes
youâd have to drag them out of there before they start harassing one of the workers into letting them hold a snake
theyâd also give all of the animals names only to forget them in 2 seconds
âhey, robert, itâs good to see you again!â âhange, i thought you named them dante?â âoh... did i? đâ
however thereâs probably like one animal they absolutely despise and idk why but i feel like itâs parrots
yâall would be walking through this rainforest exhibit, birds flying from tree to tree and the whole time theyâre cursing the birds under their breath for no reason at all
just an angry person walking through a rainforest exhibit, cursing out birds
pretty normal if you ask me
however, the date itself is pretty casual and almost feels like you guys are just hanging out
or it would if they didnât ask you out on another date before dropping you off at home, kissing your cheek as their farewell
pieck finger: cafĂŠ
very simple and quaint
i feel like pieck has a coffee addiction and always puts her in a better mood
so what better place to go on a date then a cafĂŠ?
sheâs definitely an iced coffee drinker, and will occasionally go for a hot drink but usually iced coffee is her go-to
and if you get a coffee or tea that she also happens to like, youâre already practically golden in her eyes
since pieck has a very soothing and lowkey nature, i can see the date being much more just like a conversation with someone youâve known for forever instead of interview-y which is something iâve found coffee/lunch/dinner dates to be a bit like
but pieck knows how to keep things interesting and sheâs a pretty calming person to be around so all is well
i also canât see her getting super nervous before the date
she seems pretty calm unless in high-stress situations, but even then, sheâs pretty level-headed
but since sheâs so calm, it makes you wonder if she really cares for the date
and of COURSE she does, sheâs so excited about it
itâs just the way pieck is
but as the date continues, sheâd probably start to tease you by playing footsies under the table
you gotta keep the date interesting, you know?
you guys would talk about your interests, family, friends, shows youâre watching
literally just anything and everything thatâll allow you guys to get a feel for each other
and if all goes well sheâll definitely suggest another date ;)
also donât expect to leave without her either writing something cute on your cup, pressing a lip-stick stained kiss to your cheek that matches the one surrounding the rim of her cup, or a promise that your game of footsies will continue next time you see each other

Series: CHAPTER 8 | CHAPTER 10
When Jungkook claimed that 'the whole family needs you,' what he really meant was that the Kims needed you to convince Taehyung to go back to Seoul.
"No. I'd rather die than go back there." Your brother's face was scarlet, obviously fuming.
You sighed. Defeat was already knocking on your door, telling you to give it up. Taehyung was stubborn, no one could make him do something he proclaimed he hated.
"B-But..." You couldn't give up, so desperately, you looked at him and said "our family needs usâ"
"Our family needs us?" He cut you off, voice laced with so much fury it made you flinch.
You hadn't seen him this enraged. Regret washed over you. Perhaps you should've waited for the sun to come up first before dropping the bad news to him. Taehyung woke up with a sour mood since you banged on your bedroom door, forcing him to come out and talk to you.
He had a frown on his face when he opened the door, eyes squinting, he asked you what you could possibly want in the middle of the night.
You told him your concern at once, not minding that Jimin was awake now, calling your name softly like he wasn't sure what was happening or why you're suddenly disturbing everyone's sleep.
Yoongi was awake too. He stood behind Taehyung as he scratched the back of his head, frowning at you.
You ruined their sleep while Jungkook ruined your peace.
He told you that your father and Soojin got into an accident. Apparently, the building which was being constructed by Castle Architectural Firm collapsed. Some construction workers, your father, and Soojin were injured.
Admittedly, you didn't know all the details because your mind had gone haywire the second you heard Jungkook associated your family's names with the word accident.
You could say though that between you and Taehyung, the latter was calmer. When you told him the same thing Jungkook had said to you, all your brother asked was this: "they're...still alive, right?"
You nodded your head, lips pressing into a grim line when he shrugged.
Nonchalantly.
Taehyung shrugged nonchalantly.
"Good. I'll just send them a text message later." He attempted to shut the door.
"Wait!" You stopped him, saying that you two needed to plan your trip back home.
It's his turn to smack his lips together, as if he found your statement ridiculous.
Taehyung told you he would never go back to Seoul. You still insisted on going though, prompting him to say things both of you knew he's gonna regret.
"Why are you forcing me to go back to that shithole?" He snapped at you. "Did you forget what I've been through because of him?"
You could see it in his eyes. He wanted to scream everythingâhe lost everything because of Taemin.
"B-But..." You were too frightened to think of a proper explanation so you just repeated what you said a few breaths ago, "they need us..." Your voice was actually low, like you weren't sure if what you said was valid.
Taehyung proved that it was bull by cackling. His tongue was prodding at the insides of his mouth.
"Bull fucking shit." You took a step back upon hearing his snarl. Taehyung was glaring daggers at you.
"Taehyung-ah..." Yoongi interrupted before his boyfriend could hurt you with his words. It was to no avail. Your brother didn't stop sputtering things. He was directing his frustration to you.
"What? I'm right, Yoongi." He also glared at his hyung before casting his gaze back at you. "We chose to leave but they pushed us to do it. Our father can't accept me. My mother barely tolerated me. Seokjin and Namjoon-hyung are the only ones who defended me, but where are they now? They stopped talking to me tooâ" He sounded bitter.
You couldn't blame him. None of them reached out to talk to you and your brother. It had been almost two years since you contacted them. They didn't spare you even a simple greeting no matter how many holidays had passed, no matter how long your messages were.
The Kims never replied.
"Consider leaving Seoul as a sign of you turning your back on us." This was what Taemin said to Taehyung.
And to you?
Nothing.
They never cared about you. As a matter of fact, you felt like you had done them a favor when you left. Even Soojin didn't bother to stop you. She only said you're old enough to decide for yourself, that she got a lot on her plate right now and that she didn't have time for your drama or whatever you're going through.
Taehyung said you were stupid. Why did you keep insisting yourself to them? Wasn't it obvious to you that they didn't want you in their circle? You were an outsider they would never let in.
"âand now you're saying they need us? For what?" He answered his own question after swallowing his spit. "For support? That's rich coming from them, don't you think? How dare they ask something they never gave us when we needed it the most?"
"I don't want to end up like them, oppa." Your voice was barely audible as you trained your eyes on the floor. "You and I both know how painful it is not to have the support we craved. Do you really want to pass that pain to someone else?"
Taehyung cackled, forcing you to cast your eyes back to him.
"That's where we're different, little sister." He licked his lower lip, thunder and lightning were brewing in his eyes. "I don't care about the pain of the people who hurt me. I don't want to be the bigger person here. What? Am I supposed to just forget everything I went through just because my father is in pain? He's hurt for a reason. He deserves it."
Taehyung knew he was being mean. He couldn't help it. Why must he allow toxic people back in his life again? He managed to pull himself from a very dark place. It was difficult. It was shitty. It was heartbreaking. But he did it.
He did it and just because he could didn't mean he'd allow himself to go back to that dark place. Taehyung wouldn't. He would never be sorry for how he protected his peace.
Not going back to Seoul was how he did it.
"But Soojin..." If Taehyung couldn't forgive his father, then he should go back home for the sake of his other sister.
"Ah," your brother smirked. "Kim Soojin. The person who stole the love of your life. Am I right?" He crossed his arms, not waiting for you to reply.
"Sometimes I don't understand you. Are you a martyr or an idiot? Why would you want to help Soojin? You suffered greatly because of her, did you not?"
You were once again lost for words.
Taehyung continued speaking.
"She's mean to you. She's the reason why you're far away from home." He stroked his chin, squinting his eyes at you. "I know now. You're not a martyr. You're stupid. You enjoy loving the people who hurt you, and then you hurt people who love you."
Yoongi grabbed his boyfriend's wrist vigorously. Taehyung ignored his first warning so Yoongi wouldn't allow him to talk to you any further. He was upset and he was starting to hurt you. It's not right.
Taehyung was unstoppable though.
"You love everyone except Jungkook. Is that the reason why you wanna go back home, huh? Guilt finally caught up with you? Do you really want to be there for our family, or is this the only excuse you can think of because you want to see Jungkook again? You haven't moved on from him, have you?"
The storm in his eyes reached you. The thunder was like a booming pain in your head. The lightning electrified your heart that couldn't be revived.
You felt sick, like you were going to faint. Jimin was suddenly beside you. He dug his fingers into your hips, keeping you from falling.
"Kim Taehyung." Jimin growled at his best friend.
"It's okay," you clamped your eyes shut and after a few seconds, you opened them again, staring into your brother's remorseful eyes.
Funny how people instantly pulled themselves together right after lashing out.
"I'll fly back home tomorrow, even without you."
You were true to your words. You booked a flight going back to Seoul while Yoongi pulled Taehyung back to bed, urging him to rest for a while before deciding what he wanted to do with the information you told him.
Morning came and he still didn't change his mind. You had to go home alone.
"I'm going to miss you," but Jimin dropped you off to the airport. Yoongi wanted to go with you, sadly you told him to just stay with his boyfriend.
"Me too." You unbuckled your seat belt and then you turned to your roommate, giving him your sincerest smile. "Thank you, Jimin. For everything."
He was the sweetest and kindest boy you knew. Jimin paid for your plane ticket since you didn't have enough money for it. You told him you would pay him back soon, but he simply brushed you off, saying that it didn't matter to him if you couldn't pay.
"Just be safe, okay?" He ruffled your hair while you studied his face. You could see it in his eyes, he wanted to say more. You could almost feel these words leaving his mouth: and please come back to me.
He didn't say it though. He couldn't ask for that knowing that Taehyung was probably right. You were not over Jungkook.
You dreaded seeing him. What were you supposed to do after pretending like he didn't exist for almost two years?
Taehyung hated you for sending long holiday messages to the Kims despite not getting a response.
You, on the other hand, hated yourself for ignoring Jungkook's handwritten holiday messages for youâwell, actually, it wasn't just holiday letters. Your best friend sent you letters from time to time.
He sent two letters a week. This went on for a year but then one day, Jungkook just...stopped.
You thought he got tired of you and it broke your heart and made you hate yourself even more. You were the one who left. He was the one who begged you to stay.
You didn't deserve anything from him, not even his anger. The question was, could you take it? Could you bear seeing indifference in his eyes after getting used to the love always dancing in his eyes?
Probably not. This was why you were trying to calm your nerves by taking advantage of the free wine on the plane. Jimin was the one who booked your flight, choosing business class.
You didn't deserve it. You didn't deserve these good men in your life. Taehyung was right. You always ended up hurting the people who loved you.
You drank the pain and bitterness away. You lost count on how many glasses of wine you had, all you knew was that your head was spinning and you felt like shit when you got off the plane.
"I didn't know you drink."
You groaned upon hearing Seokjin's remark. You didn't feel like shit anymore.
You felt shittier.
Abashed, you smiled apologetically at your older brother, suddenly regretting his offer to pick you up from the airport.
"Long time no see, oppa..." Two years and he still looked the same: like a deity. Seokjin aged like a fine wine.
"I'm sorry I can't convince Taehyung-oppa to come home with me." Your face was hot and you weren't sure if it was because of wine or embarrassment.
Seokjin noticed your sheepishness as he took your suitcase and handbag, carrying them for you.
"I didn't expect him to come. But at least you're here. Father is expecting you." He started walking so you followed.
"H-How's he and Soojin?" You were stammering since you weren't used to conversing with him. This was probably the longest conversation you had with your eldest brother.
Seokjin had always acted indifferent towards you.
"Jungkook didn't tell you?" He enquired while loading the boot of his car with your luggage.
"He...just told me they're injured."
Your brother sucked in a breath. He closed the trunk of his car loudly before turning to you. Too many emotions were painted on his face, but the most apparent was...exhaustion? Or was it sympathy for your naivety?
"I envy you..." The corner of his mouth turned up as he eyed you from head to toe. You fought the urge to step back. He was making you feel intimidated ."You got to drink. I didn't." He walked towards the driver's seat of his car, opening its door. "The situation is getting worse, sister. You should've drunk more when you still had the chance."
You didn't understand what Seokjin said to you at first, but the moment he turned on the radio in his car, your world crumpled and you wished you had drunk more wine.
"SPD has confirmed that at least four people died in a commercial building collapse Wednesday afternoon inâ"
Your stomach flipped, your brain no longer able to listen to the sickening news.
Baffled, your head snapped to look at your brother who was clenching his jaw, his grip on the steering wheel was tight.
"I thought no one died!" You whimpered, chest recoiling.
"That's fifteen hours ago."
Fuck.
"B-But...you said Soojin and father are okay, right? They're not..." You trailed off, it was physically painful for you to continue your statement.
Seokjin sucked in a deep breath as he realized it was better to tell you the truth now. He said that your father was still unconscious, something big and hard fell on his head.
Soojin was in a wheelchair but at least she's conscious. There were cuts and bruises all over her body because of the fallen debris.
"Can we go straight to the hospital now, oppa? I..." You licked your lower lip. "I want to see Soojin and father."
Seokjin didn't answer but he nodded his head. The rest of the ride was filled with silence. The older man turned off the radio when he realized you were breathing heavily.
You tried to calm down. You really did, howbeit everything was too much for you. The alcohol in your system was making you feel hot even though you're literally covered in cold sweat.
What about those people who had died? Do their family know? How could Castle help them? Who was taking charge?
You whimpered again. When you left two years ago, the situation was already bad. The construction workers were protesting every Friday, demanding to be treated rightâto be treated fairly. They didn't have the same benefits as regular employees. They didn't have social insurance. Their daily wage wasn't even enough to get them by.
"Hey..." Seokjin slowed down, glancing at you when he heard you whine for the umpteenth time. "Your head hurts? We can buy coffee if you want..."
Was he worried thinking that you had too much wine?
"I'm okay, oppa. Just thinking about those who..." You swallowed thickly. "d-died."
Seokjin's eyes softened.
"Namjoonie is taking care of it," he exhaled slowly. "Don't worry about it."
It was easier said than done. You thought about this as you headed to the VIP floor of the hospital. Taemin was confined in one of the rooms on that floor.
You were going to see your father in a few and admittedly, you were nervous. Seokjin's words were echoing inside your head: don't worry about it. How could you stop worrying about those workers who had died when there's a possibility that your father might end up just like them?
"Where's Taehyung?" You heard Sin-ae before you saw her. She was guarding the door of Taemin's room, like she had no intention to let you in.
Of course. You expected this day to be difficult. Nothing much had changed in the past two years. Sin-ae still treated with strong contempt.
You noticed the change in her eyes though. Back then, she threw daggers at you, but right now, she looked like she didn't have the energy to do that. Her eyes were...hollow.
"I...couldn't convince him to go homeâ"
It was sudden.
Not your answer. You had thought so many times while you were on plane the things you would tell Sin-ae and your entire family as to why Taehyung couldn't come home.
He's busy with work, but he's sad he can't come.
He's flying back home in days. Let's just wait for him.
He said he's sorry. He'll call later. Don't worry.
Your excuses were thought thoroughly. You practiced saying it. Hell, you even imagine what they'd say or how they'd react.
You expected them to scowl, to cry...Sin-ae cried.
She cried after slapping you right across the face. She's angry. She's sad. She's frustrated. She's directing these ugly feelings twisting in her gut to you.
"He couldn't come?" She hissed, her eyes were red and tears kept on rolling down her cheeks. She was shaking.
"Jungkook told you to convince my son to go home! You had one job! One fucking job! Why can't you do it, huh?"
"I'm sorry," you were guilty. You avoided her gaze. "I just..." And then you bit your tongue before you said "want to see my father..."
You tried to get past her, but she blocked the way.
"No!" She spread her arms to cover the door. "You are not allowed to see my husband, bastard!"
You shook your head, ignoring her and still insisting to go inside the room. Seokjin said Taemin wanted to see you.
He requested your presence.
"Please." You pleaded. Your voice was shaky too, your blood running cold. Something was wrong. Something was telling you you had to see your father.
The beat of your heart wasn't normal.
"He wants me here..."
"No!" Sin-ae pushed your chest. "We want Taehyung here. Not you! So get lost!"
No.
You pushed her too, making her more aggressive. Sin-ae scratched your skin, screaming. She wanted you to go away.
"What is happening here?" Seokjin arrived. He was so startled to see his mom in this feral state.
"I want her out, Seokjin! Make her go away!" Sin-ae wailed in her son's arm.
Your older brother embraced her tight. He was looking at you using those puppy eyes.
"I'm so sorry," he shook his head at you and then he mumbled "please leave..."
Off you go.
You were defeated anyway. Two versus one. How could you fight your family?
You were exhausted. Both from your long flight and dealing with Sin-ae. Your head hurt too.
You needed coffee to help you sober up. Fuck wine. Fuck Sin-ae. Fuck this stupid vending machine.
Why couldn't you have your coffee?
It was fucking stuck.
You breathed heavily while massaging your temple.
You hadn't recovered from your throbbing head when a new wave of pain engulfed you.
Someone called your name.
Not just someone.
You knew that voice well.
You turned your head to the side slowly.
You saw the person who called you.
"Soojin..." It was Jungkook who called your name, but what you uttered was your sister's name.
He was with her. Jungkook was standing behind Soojin's wheelchair.
Baby I'm falling head over heels
Your breathing hitched while looking at the both of them.
It was just like in movies. You know, when your eyes sparkled when you saw someone you loved after a very long time.
Looking for ways to let you know just how I feel
You called Soojin yet your eyes were focused on your best friend. The friend you hadn't seen in years.
I wish I was holding you by my side
His voice was soft when he uttered your name. But just like Sin-ae, his eyes changed too.
Indifference.
He was no longer looking at you with fire in his eyes.
I wouldn't change a thing 'cause finally it's real
It was like he's a completely different person. It hurt looking at him like this, like he didn't recognize you, like he was debating if you were real or not.
Were you really here? Or were you just a fragment of his imagination?
You walked towards them, causing Jungkook to flinch.
His chest felt heavy. He gripped the push handle of Soojin's wheelchair with force.
You were standing near them now.
Jungkook blinked.
He wasn't hesitating anymore.
You were definitely here.
I'm tryin' to hold back, you ought to know that
"Hi..." You said to Soojin, voice wavering. It hurt seeing her like this. She had a cervical collar on. It was difficult for her to speak.
You crouched down as you smiled softly at your sister.
Jungkook watched you. He was holding himself back. It wasn't the right time to hold you in his arms.
You're the one that's on my mind
He missed you though. More than so much. Two years and you were still running inside his mind.
I'm falling too fast deeply in love
Everything was dawning to him too fast.
Two years and he still loved you.
Time was irrelevant.
It went slow when you weren't around. He thought those painfully long moments without you by his side were enough to forget his feelings for you.
Finding the magic in the colors of you
Apparently, it wasn't enough. He stared hard at you, like he was looking for something.
Love? Affection? Anger? Longing?
He would take anything you could offer, because after all this time, he was still in love with you.
Little did he know, you felt the same way too.
For Jungkook, you're the right time at the right moment
But as you straighten your back and met his gaze, you realized something:
For you, he was the wrong time at the wrong moment.
A/N: my mom asked me if i was planning to write fics tonight or workout. i chose the former because MAN my body is so sore i donât think iâll be able to move properly. đŠ standing workout IS NOT easier than sitting workouts!!!!! BALLOON ANIMAL ARTIST JK I JUST FEEL LIKE HE WOULD BE REALLY GOOD AT IT AND MAKE YOU A FLOWER THEN ASK YOU ON A DATE
baby i love u and your big sexy brain <3 welcome to waikiki meets hospital playlist dynamic ft. balloon artist!jk
âwhoâs a good baby? is it you? iS IT YOU????â
youâd be the first one to admit that you had an exhausting horrible night
being a nurse sUCKS the life out of you and as much as itâs fulfilling, you almost always feel the urge to admit yourself to the ER for being extremely fatigued
itâs all worth it!! it should be
after all, paying for a mansion in an exclusive village and sharing it with your friends doeS warrant some elbow grease
seokjin works in wall street and sometimes he comes home crying but itâs okay because you do have an expensive fridge that everyone worked overtime for <3
hoseokâs a veterinary assistant and is your trusty friend who always sends in pictures of the animals that come in to cheer you up while at work
namjoonâs a painter by passion and accountant by profession!! he does only come out with a few pieces at a time but mAN does it rake in the money
jiminâs a flight attendant and does everyone the pleasure of securing either free or discounted tickets, and bringing home unused airline towels to dry off the dishes!!
lastly, taehyungâs someone you can call a former trustfund baby or somewhat :O the last big chunk of money he spent from his fund was the downpayment and security deposit for this mansion!!!
itâs a long story and heâs currently all over the place but heâs finding regular jobs!! his latest gig was working at a high-end ice cream place but he immediately quit once he learned that he needed to put his back into it and not just scoop up ice cream like he did in his dreams :((
most importantly, taehyung has a baby :-)
heâs a dad!! a single one at that
itâs truly a LONG story but the bottomline is that he has nabi, his cutest little dumpling!! and he has all of you, his friends who didnât hesitate to step up as nabiâs parents in a way too even if he didnât ask any of you
you all love the chunky monkey so much that youâve all taken the liberty to call him your baby at times and tae doesnât even mind!! nabiâs so lucky (he hopes) to have him as a dad and his friends as his cool uncles and aunt
nevertheless, you indeed had a bad night working the night shift and came home to nabiâs birthday party just in time!! :D
he turned two years old at midnight and even if you werenât physically present at the mansion like the guys were (they requested their leaves two months earlier) because of being understaffed, you were able to see him and tae blow out multiple cakes that each one bought him
seeing him giggle at your arms just by doing the bare minimum makes you full already <3
all your exhaustion is melted away because itâs your favorite toddlerâs birthday party!! the party that you all insisted on shelling out for that made tae almost cry bc of how much you all love his son
âjimin i am not sewing your forehead up when you end up falling in the wrong angle,â you roll your eyes at him whoâs currently doing backflips in the bouncy house that managed to fit in the mansion
âhoseok can!!â he yells back and backflips twice in a row, much to the actual childrenâs amusement and your worry
âi will NOT stitch you up! the thread i have is for the pregnant dogs only!!!â
everyoneâs entertaining guests left and right, including taehyung whoâs the dad of the little man of the hour :D
he keeps pointing at nabi whoâs currently in your arms every ten seconds and itâs now your job to make him giggle every single time to wave at the people
âwhat do you want, monkey? do you want some ice cream? i wonât tell your dad,â you eagerly ask the wide-eyed baby in your arms, pointing at the ice cream cart that namjoon probably ordered
âno thank you!â nabi cutely aND politely declines, his head shaking no and his speech and pronunciation getting clearer day by day
most of the time though he says it like tHANK YEWWWW and you would immediately grin every time because itâs the cutest thing ever
âhmm, look at that!! face painting!! do you want some butterflies?â
you point at yet another station that you guess seokjin arranged, knowing that at some point into this party, heâd all drag you in here to get matching marks or something lol
nabi once again declines, his eyes searching around that makes you do the same on what you could do to entertain him
he has the same habit down like taehyung and loudly gASPS, pointing his finger and almost shrieking in excitement
âbawoo â balloon!!! balloon!!!â
:O
it is now your life purpose to walk as fast as you could to this balloon station with nabi bouncing up and down your arm in excitement
jungkookâs having the time of his life here :D
normally heâs mostly called in the holiday season and occasionally at big birthday parties (the one where like two sides of the family share every babyâs first birthday party lmao) throughout the year!!
but heâs never had a client who requested him for a singular birthday party!! let alone at a hOUSE
ok maybe that was an understatement
he means a mansion
if heâs being quite honest, the mr. park jimin he spoke to on the phone sounded too kind that he just mistakened him for a party planner or something
he immediately said yes because he had no on-site bookings for that day, or even the week perhaps, and expected to stroll into a carnival in the middle of an executive village
aha :D jungkook is wrong :D
jimin met him by the front door wherein a lot of people are already crossing paths such as catering and not to mention the bouncy house you cANâT miss, and just briefly touched in on the situation
âoh no, iâm not the dad, man â but thanks!! iâm his uncle. nabiâs dad is my friend, taehyung. and me and my friends, including taehyung, all live here. weâre all like family, basically.â
jungkook saw the other stations invited and he expected that his would have less children yâknow?? bouncy house, ice cream station, facepainting, hotdog cart aND magic show???? yeah <3
but god is he wrong
the children are in a single-file line for hIM and his balloon artistry!!! the requests range from pretzels to pirate hats to chandeliers with the bulbs as smiley faces!!!
heâs managed to do all of them so far and heâs now made a decent dent on the line of children waiting for him
jungkook is a happy and content balloon artist :D
âEXCUSE ME! BIRTHDAY BOY COMING THROUGH!!â
oh my god what was that
youâre walking at full-speed and holler out, making sure to emphasize birthday boy because nuh-uh you and nabi will nOT line up for his own party <3 thank you very much
the children coo and the older kids coax the other ones to make way for the both of you to the front of the line, immediately plopping to a mini chair in front of the guy
âhiiii!!â
nabi drawls politely and waves his hand, making you do the same
âwhat a cute little thing,â the guy in front of you coos and itâs his voice that perhaps makes you melt a little, just seeing the top of his hair for now because heâs crouching down to be eye-level with nabi, âwhat can i do for you, little buddy?â
he toothily grins and straightens his posture, raising his eyes to look at whoâs holding nabi in place and-
???????????????????
jungkook literally stops breathing for a second
âh-hi!! what can i do for you today?â jungkook squeaks, his eyes even more wide and curious to look at the prettiest girl heâs ever seen in his life
youâre sure that you were gonna stammer once you open your mouth so you donât at all, instead focusing on nabi whoâs on your lap
âwhat do you want, monkey?â
ânabi please! i want nABI!!! nabi nabi nabiiiiiiiiii-â
âyes. he wants nabi, please.â
jungkook nods fervently, his hands about to pluck ballons from his kit before he realizes to ask
âdoes he want his face? or like, his name? what colors do you want, bud?â
heâs not the least bit bothered at the choices in his head because youâre widening your eyes on what could this guy dO with just balloons, knowing to yourself that even pumping one is difficult work already
âoh! he wants nabi,â you clarify and jungkook tilts his head, mouth slightly agape at to what youâre trying to get at, âbutterfly, i mean. nabi knows that his name means butterfly and he likes them a lot! donât you, monkey?â
nabi nods so hard that it almost gives him a headache and jungkook wants to facepalm himself to the grave
âr-right! why didnât i think of that?? because nabi means.... nabi....... right!! sorry, oh my god. o-oh! i meant oh my gosh. i uhm-...â
heâs a mess and he knows it, letting his hands take over and grab the same theme colors of blue and lavender from his bag to start on his work
kook tries not to lift his head up ever so often because youâd find him out instantly that heâs looking at you
so what he does instead is peer and coo at nabi every few seconds and tHEN look up at you because you also giggle whenever he giggles
heâs probably feeling pressure with the way your eyes are set on him too and what heâs doing that he pOPS a balloon right with his hands
âsorry, sorry! did i spook you?â
jungkookâs worried because he heard a collective gasp from the kids around him but his main priority is the birthday boy AND you
nabiâs shoulders rose and thatâs about it
he shakes his head to himself, looking at you whoâs carrying a curious gaze on your face that looks amused
âsorry. i-itâs just youâre so pretty and-â
heâs embarrassed himself in front of a pretty girl and her son and-
wait a second
the color just dRAINS from his face and heâs about to quit at the second
âoh my god i am so sorry. y-you must be nabiâs mother. youâre mr. taehyungâs-â
âfriend!! iâm y/n, iâm just taehyungâs friend,â you interject quickly because you cannot believe that pretty boy called you pretty, and at the next breath thought you were taehyungâs wife, âand nabiâs my nephew. weâre all just friends who live together!! i have no boyfriend, if thatâs what youâre thinking.â
...
....
yeah maybe you embarrassed yourself this time
you may have said too much information to the balloon artist but jungkookâs just staring at you fondly
and nabiâs switching his gaze between the two of you and claps his hands to snap the two of you out of it lmao
kook chuckles to himself and he cannot stop smiling, even when heâs tying the last balloon to nabiâs butterfly
âthere you go, cutie. happy birthday!!â he hands nabi the hUGE butterfly he just made but the sheer difference of how big it is makes the toddler even more happy, hugging it to his chest
jungkook watches you pepper kisses on nabiâs cheeks and that launches him into quickly pulling out balloons while your eyes are deviated from him, hands twisting and turning like his wHOLE LIFE depended on it
âmy nameâs jungkook, by the way,â he calls you when youâre just about to stand up, smiling giddily at you, âthought you should know.â
cute :-)
before you could thank him, he extends his arm and your mind recognizes the familiar shape which makes you smile instantly
jungkook made you a flower balloon <3
âi think iâll remember you, jungkook.â
you laugh as the only thing you can smell from it is latex, the huge flower staring at you right in the face
jungkook sheepishly blushes, pursing his lips in happiness
âiâm free whenever youâre free â f-for a date, yâknow? just so you could remember me more.â

You werenât sure exactly what you were looking at for a moment, arching your back forwards over the desk in the dimly lit room, the glare from the laptop the only source of light. Several windows had been left open on the screen, and despite the turmoil that Leonâs apartment had been left in, this was what had really grabbed your attention.
The most notable of which was a photo, the resolution was grainy, a scan from a black and white film photo, it looked almost like a foetus, but you couldnât be sure. Was somebody pregnant? It was almost akin to the sort of photograph that expecting parents would show at a baby shower, but this was⌠different. You had a feeling of impending doom just by looking at this thing.
Next, another very grainy photo of a town, it almost looked like some of the places from back home in England; a church steeple, a castle or maybe a mansion in the distance? A quaint looking village in the snow. And lastly, a very cryptic email;
                        10/10/2000
Leon,
Know not what I have done, but what I believe must be done now.
Half of the results of good intentions are evil; half of the results of an evil intention are good.
You have the information that you need, please make haste.
A friend.
Well, thatâs ambiguous as fuck. You thought to yourself, pushing the chair back and pulling the lighter from the little band on the side of your cap. You reached to your shoulder and cursed. Thatâs right, youâd given up, âfor health reasonsâ. Putting the lighter back you reached instead for your camera, a notepad and a pen. Youâd been tempted to just take the laptop and the scattered papers, but after several years in the police you knew it was beneficial to leave things as they were. Your eyes flitted from paper to paper, taking notes of numbers, flights, times, place names, anything that you could until youâd filled a couple of pages. One page for practical info, and one page, now that you looked at it almost sounded like a fairy tale;
A village, four kings, four lords, and a mysterious âMother Mirandaâ. You bit the end of the pen and pondered. It was like nothing youâd ever heard of before, what had he got himself intoâŚ
Several days ago you had received a text from the man himself;
âY/N I am going to be out of
town for a while, something has
come up. Please donât worry,
will explain soon. Leon. X
P.S. Iâve left Timesplitters in
your mail box, play you again
when I get back! :] â
And now here you were. You scoffed knowing heâd have had to pay double to send that one, but he was mad to think that you wouldnât worry, he was like a brother to you, hell, the only family that you had. After a childhood growing up in rural England you had moved to the states with your father and stepmother when you were in those vulnerable years of your teens during the early 90s, but were lucky enough to have met Leon in school. The two of you had become best friends quickly, and even graduated from the same police academy. It was Leon that saved your butt two years ago when all hell broke loose in Racoon City, him and Claire.
You shifted on the collapsible chair in front of the usually neatly tidied desk which was now strewn with various papers and articles. Your thoughts of Claire continued, and you pulled out your Nokia, opened a message and then faltered. It was late. Later than late you realised, seeing the time; 02:08 AM. What am I doing? You didnât want to wake her, so you put the phone back into the pocket on your belt.
You swept a strand of your hair behind your ear, the outgrown bangs jumping back in the way and you blew at them irritated. You heard a grumble and moaned, looking down at your stomach. Padding across the shiny, tiled floor you left the desk and headed to the kitchen, opening the fridge where you knew there would be left-over pizza. Sure, it was from over a week ago when you were last here hanging out, but hey, itâs pizza, right?
âUgh dude, always with the anchovies, why?â you mumbled, flinging a small fish into the bin and mentally backhanding the back of Leonâs head. Of course, it was his side of the pizza that was left over, probably trying to stay in shape in case he bumped into âAdaâ again. You werenât keen, but then, you didnât trust her. You looked at your phone again, left on the desk besides the laptop, Leon would be much better off with Claire, but sadly you felt perhaps that ship had set sail long ago.
You went to sit yourself back down at the desk. CRUNCH âShit!â Your eyes darted to your right knee. âFuck⌠youâre not giving me a break are you.â Letting out a sigh you closed your eyes for a moment. Since you were a child your knee had given you problems. A few dislocations, hospital visits, insteps, braces and physiotherapy. Youâd had to grit your teeth hard through every physical training session during academy, but youâd made it. Fortunately for you it wasnât something that many people would be able to notice or spot. You could run for miles with no problem; it was the recovery time in the days that followed that was tough. You knew it was getting worse, and had been reading about how much longer you might have before youâd need a full replacement, but you knew that it could jeopardise your job, you knew youâd likely not get put on the jobs that you wanted, and the thought of being put into the office answering calls made your heart sink.
And then you spotted it, the corner of another window was sticking out from under the others, exposing the corner of a third photograph. Instantly recognising the symbol you felt as though you were falling.
âWhatâŚâ
Dragging the window and clicking it to full screen you could see this photograph clearly; some kind of mural, was it in stone? It looked as though there were four crests, family crests maybe. And at the centre; âUmbrella.â You breathed. You stared at it for several minutes and quickly took a photo of the screen on your camera, no point trying to get that old thing to work, you thought, looking at the printer at the other end of the desk. You couldnât help but smirk, memories of Leon trying to print page after page of game walk throughs, whilst trying to find all the secrets in your favourite action/ adventure game, and laughing your head off at him, mouthful of noodles spilling back out into the carton as a hundred pages shot out at him, flying all over the room with cheat codes for a scantily dressed version of the playable character.
You looked at the clock again, time to go. If you were going to do this, you needed sleep and to get going as soon as you could the next day. It might drain your bank account, but it would be worth it. You didnât have a good feeling about any of this, and more often than not, your gut instincts were right. Grabbing your R.P.D jacket at the door, you took one last glance at the room. It really did look like a whirlwind had hit it, not like Leon when he was in a better mental state at all. You knew that when he wasnât his best heâd reach a for a drink and then some, but you could see that nothing was broken, and it was mostly clothes scattered, some bits of equipment and where heâd clearly got the luggage bag down from on top of the wardrobe. Nothing to worry about in regard to kidnap or a break in at least; as if that was enough to stop you from worrying about whatever lay ahead in this âVillageâ.
It started to rain just as you got into your apartment building, and you smiled. Youâd always liked the rain. Stopping to quickly check your pigeon-hole for mail and seeing nothing you felt something press up against you calf, rubbing itself against the tops of your boots. You looked down and grinned, scooping up a slender, black cat in one hand and kissing the top of her head. âIâm going to miss you Boo, keep an eye on my mail for me while Iâm gone, you know how crammed that thing gets.â You winked at her as you set her back down outside Mrs. Littleâs door and fished a sandwich bag full of the leftover pizza anchovies out of your R.P.D. bag. âYou didnât think Iâd forget you, did you?â Leaving Boo hastily munching into her treats you jogged up the stairs, your knee twinged, but it wasnât too bad. It just had its moments.
Your apartment was pretty standard for this part of the city; both you and Leon had left Racoon city some time ago, though it wasnât far from here. It had been destroyed and bordered off and that was all there was too it. You had to tell it to yourself that way to cope. Leonâs apartment was slightly swankier, but then again, he did like his gadgets and liked to keep things tidy, when his thoughts werenât somewhere else. You on the other hand were happy to know that while everything had its place, sometimes that place would be on the floor⌠next to the thingy and nestled safely under a cereal box; and that was okay! You picked up the thingy, and looked at it fondly, before folding it up and putting it away with the others.
Stretching and yawning you looked around you, making a mental note of what needed to be done; pack, shower, sleep. Youâd get the tickets the next day, and some money too, youâd have to stop off at the currency exchange. What currency did they even use there? Equipment, keep it simple; knives, pistol, rounds, lighter, fluid, compass, torch, camera, medi-kit. A couple of spare pairs of clothes, and you had your light armour that also fit into the case. You knew the contents would raise suspicion, but you had your badge, at the end of the day another cop had gone missing, and your team knew too.
You whipped off the remainder of your uniform and jumped in the shower, the bathroom filling up with steam and bubbles quickly and you sang along to a few songs on the radio. Wiping the mirror to see yourself more clearly you felt all your insecurities flood to you at once, as well as seeing yourself for the natural beauty that you were. You pursed your lips, staring into your own eyes and promised youâd find him safe and bring him back. Heâd yell at you for going in the first place, but you knew this wasnât right. Something wasnât right. Traipsing out from the bathroom, you felt the cool air attack your flushed skin. You liked it, you were always a window open kind of person, no matter the weather, the fresh air just soothed you. Of course, that meant the odd moth now and again, like now as you heard the tiny body plummet time and time again against the spherical glass shade of the dim lamp besides your bed. Snuggling up into the loose blankets you smiled at the little creature and pulled the cord on the lamp, smiling again as you felt the moth settle on the side of your head.
After that you actually fell to sleep very quickly. It had been a long day after all; a 6AM start, patrol, arresting some juvies for petty crimes, followed by yet another zombie scare, (false alarm thank God), before filing up all the paper work and heading to Leonâs. Sleep fell like a veil of cool clouds, taking you in and raising you up into the inky blue skies of the night. The next thing you knew, you were butt naked in a dark green forest, dew drops shining on moss like a trillion tiny emeralds. Mist hung thick in the air, and thousands of tiny moths flew up from the ground? No. From you. You were raising your arms up to the skies, the moss covered forest floor moist under your bare feet and between your toes. Behind you the silhouette of a deer⌠antlers, but much, much taller. In front of you a pair of cold silver-gold eyes in the dark. You felt drawn, ever so drawn, taking one step forward, and then another, your arms coming down now, hands outstretched in caring caress, your heart swelled, your lips bloomed, taking in a short breath, and then; blood. Gushes of it, soaking into the moss, reddening Earthâs green carpet, and dripping down the trunks of the trees, the moths falling from the air around you, their wings sticking and stopping in the thick, red mess.
âShit!â You fell back down onto your bed, several items around you also crashing down. Hand to your head, you looked wildly about. It happened again. Whatever had fallen this time had been heavy. You turned to see half the cutlery that had been lying on the kitchen tops now on the floor, and the knives and pistol that youâd placed earlier on top of the luggage bag were now in the middle of the floor. A sudden feeling of loneliness washed over you. The same dream, but longer, and this time with blood. âShitâ again, you put a hand to your pants, pulled the covers back and saw red. âWell, thatâs one more thing I need to bring with me.â You mumbled, rolling your eyes, and throwing yourself back onto the bed.

Walk Away
inspired by the song âHold On Meâ by Ella Henderson. Listen to it while you read if youâd like to cry with me.
He scares me when he gets that look.Â
Iâve realized that it doesnât necessarily happen at a certain time of day or location. Iâm not sure what it is that triggers it, but every so often Iâll turn and see Jimin looking at me with this look that terrifies me.
He looks at me like Iâm his whole world.
This time it happens as Iâm sitting on my bed, looking out over the mess of boxes and clothes that have yet to be packed. He comes to stand at the doorway, about to ask how Iâm feeling about moving back home tomorrow but he stops in his tracks.Â
When I catch him staring, he doesnât stop. In fact, the longer I think about it and all the past experiences with it, Iâm starting to think that maybe he doesnât even know about it.Â
âHowâs it coming?â He asks quietly, his typically chipper self muted in the face of me moving halfway across the world.Â
âI donât remember having this much stuff when I first moved here.â
He laughs lightly, the sound reminding me of twinkling stars as he tiptoes around the mess to sit beside me. âI donât think you did.â
The familiar dip in the bed beside me has me clenching my jaw, fighting against the onslaught of sweet memories where we would sit just like this: perched on the edge of my bed, talking late into the night until exhaustion or Sejin calling Jimin to remind him that he had to get up early the next morning pulled him away.Â
âThis is exhausting,â I sigh, flopping back against the bed. Jimin watches me fall, a smile gracing his features before itâs wiped clean.Â
âYeah, youâve been packing all day-â
âI donât mean physically,â I interrupt him, staring up at the ceiling. âEmotionally.â
Itâs silent, and I prop myself up on my elbows to see Jimin staring at me with that same expression as before. Glancing at my boarding pass thatâs sitting on the bedside table, I throw caution to the wind.Â
âWhatâs that about?â I ask.
Jimin blinks at me, the soft look in his eyes never faltering. âWhat?â
âThat...look.â
His eyes widen a bit. âWhat look? What are you talking about?â
Giving him a mischievous grin, I sit back up and adjust to sit cross-legged beside him. âYou know what I'm talking about. You always get this look at the most random moments.â
âTheyâre not random!â
âAha!â I shout. âSo you do know what Iâm talking about.â
Jimin groans, his face flushed as he gets up. âWhy are you bringing this up now?â
I frown, wanting him to sit back down but he remains standing before me. âWhy shouldnât I? Is now a bad time for you?â I tease, making him roll his eyes.Â
âYes, it is.â He responds sharply, running a hand through his hair and sighing.
That wasnât what I was expecting.Â
â...ok, am I missing something here?â I ask, growing annoyed. âWhatâs going on?â
âNothing. I almost finished packing up the dishes, Iâll just go finish then get out of your hair.â
Before I can say anything else Jimin sweeps out of the room, leaving me with my mouth gaping. Weâve never argued, we rarely even get annoyed with each other. So why now?
âToday sucks,â I mumble to myself, falling back against my bed and staring up at the ceiling. The sounds of Jimin packing in the kitchen are all I can hear, but I find no comfort in them. Not when I know that something isnât right between us.Â
Groaning a little as I get up off the bed, Iâm nearly out the door when I hear a crash.Â
âJimin?â I call out, running into the hallway and hearing him mumble out a string of curses.Â
Entering the kitchen I see Jimin with a broom already in hand, crouching down and sweeping up the remains of one of my mugs. He hears me enter, looking at me over his shoulder.
His eyes are red-rimmed as he sniffles. âIâm so sorry, I didnât mean- I wasnât paying attention and it just slipped-â
âItâs ok,â I reassure him, going to step closer to him but jumping back as he holds his hand up.
âWait! Let me sweep the whole floor first.â
Going back to stand in the hallway, Iâm absolutely bewildered as he makes sure to sweep every inch of the floor before throwing the fragments into the garbage.
âWhatâs going on, Jiminie?â
He stands with his back to me, refusing to turn around as he clings to the broom handle. âNothing,â he whispers, his voice thick with what I can only assume are unshed tears.Â
I feel a sharp pang knowing that heâs struggling so much, and I tiptoe over to him before he can order me back out into the hallway.Â
He stiffens as I come up behind him and wrap my arms around his middle, resting my cheek against his back. I donât even realize that Iâm holding my breath until I feel him sigh.
Jimin drops one hand to rest on my clasped ones, his head dropping. âIâm sorry.â
Squeezing him a little tighter, I move to rest my forehead between his shoulder blades. âItâs ok.â I pause. âWill you please tell me whatâs going on with you today? Youâve been distant all day.â
He tenses again. âI...â Resting the broom against the counter, he spins around to face me. His lips form a pout as he looks down at me with the same look as before, stronger than ever. âDonât leave.â
I frown up at him, matching his pout. âI canât stay-â
âYes, you can. Hear me out,â he adds before I can interrupt him. âIâve been looking at apartments for you, I found one that I think youâd love! Itâs only a couple of blocks down from me, isnât that great?â
âYou live in a gated community! Any place near there are probably more expensive than my yearâs wages!â
âIâll help you! I know the guy that owns them, itâs really cool. He flips apartments! Yâknow, kind of like flipping houses, but apartment style! And thereâs this one that has this cute yellow door and I convinced him to hold it for me-â
âJimin, I canât stay.â
âYouâre not listening to me. You can. Iâll help you. I know you hate that, but just swallow your pride for once and stay. Donât- donât go.â
If he looks at me like that for another second, I think Iâll fall apart right here in his arms. His eyes are wide, like heâs afraid to miss a single breath I take, shining with some sort of adoration I didnât realize I deserved.Â
I certainly wonât after this.
Closing my eyes against the knowledge of what I have to do, I press my face up against his chest. His arms immediately encircle me, holding me tight as he breathes in deeply.Â
âJiminie,â I mumble against his sweatshirt. âI canât.â
What Jimin will never understand is that he was never mine to have. The idea that I could actually have Park Jimin has never crossed my mind. Especially not after he gave me tickets to his most recent concert.Â
Seeing all those people absolutely mesmerized by him...it was a sort of revelation for me. They cried for him, professed their undying love, and just watched him.Â
It was when I realized that they watched him with the same love that I felt that I knew that Jimin was not meant to be mine.Â
How could I steal him away?
For now, I cling to him as much as he clings to me, all the unspoken words between the two of us crashing down until I have to come up for air.Â
When I look back up at him, I see that something has changed in his eyes.Â
âYouâre leaving.â
Itâs not a question, but I answer him nonetheless. âI have to.â
He shakes his head. âNo, you want to. This is your choice.â
Heart cracking until it splits, I shake my head, biting back the tears. âNo, Jiminie. I have to. Y-you donât understand, I-â
âI understand enough,â he bites out, hesitating for a moment longer before removing his arms from me. I instantly feel the chill of his absence. âAnd donât call me that.â
He begins to walk away, and I stand there like a fool as I watch him. Heart bleeding and my body numb, I watch as Jimin walks toward the door.Â
âI finished packing up everything in the kitchen,â he mutters, not even bothering to look at me. âIf you need any more help, Iâll send the boys over.â
âJimin-â
He turns around, one hand on the door. âIt really is a beautiful apartment, you know. It has that view you always talked about wanting, and a perfect spot to set your plants. And I talked to the neighbors, too. Theyâre a retired couple.â
My breathing is broken now as I blindly step toward him, hating the look that once made me so nervous. Hating that this is my reality, and Iâm too afraid to change it. Too far gone now, looking at the way heâs gazing at me like I might still change my mind. Like Iâm going to stop him from leaving.
âI want to come back,â I choke out. âI want to come back, even if I canât stay. Please donât leave like this.â
Jimin gives me a small, brokenhearted smile. âIâm not the one thatâs leaving.â Opening up the door, Jimin looks back at me one more time as though expecting me to shout after him, telling him that Iâve changed my mind.Â
I canât, though. Not as I remember the girl that sat beside me at the concert, telling me about how Jimin had saved her life. How she loved him just the way he was right now, how she felt like they shared a special bond.Â
Itâs her words that echo through my mind as the door softly closes.
âI just feel like I know him, you know? Heâs everything to me. And heâll never know that, but I guess Iâll just keep cheering him on from afar. Thatâs all I can do. But I love him. And Iâll love him forever, I think.â
masterlist
This was...depressing lol. But Iâm working on a Jimin series rn and Iâm just so soft for him. Anyway, does this deserve a part 2? What do you guys think?
part 2!

Eleven days ago, Dr. Akbari was at her clinic in the northern Afghan city of Mazar-e-Sharif when she got a call that made her drop everything. It was a member of the Taliban who had been threatening her from afar for months because she had given a birth control shot to his 13-year-old bride.
"This time, his voice was actually really soft," recalls Akbari. "He said, 'We're entering the city. Soon we'll come and get you.' "
What led to this moment â and what happened next â offer a window into what the Taliban's takeover may hold for Afghanistan's women. Taliban leaders have promised to moderate the harsh restrictions that the group imposed the last time they ruled Afghanistan. This time, they say, they'll allow women to be involved in government and work in sectors such as health care. But women on the ground say the reality is more complicated.
For Akbari â who asked NPR to protect her identity by using only her last name, which is a very common one in her city â the troubles began there about eight months ago.
That's when the 13-year-old arrived at her clinic. While examining her, Akbari learned that the girl had been married to an older man as his second wife. "She told me her husband wanted to get her pregnant."
Akbari says the medical guidance in this situation was clear: "She is a child. It's risky for any child to get pregnant. And this girl was also physically very weak."
What's more, the girl did not want to get pregnant. "She begged me for help," says Akbari.
So Akbari decided to give the girl the contraceptive injection, which would last for three months.
The angry husband began calling â and threatening her
Soon after, she got the first furious phone call from the girl's husband.
"He said, 'Why did you do such a thing? Now I can't have babies!' "
From then on, the man would call to rage at her almost every day.
Akbari soon learned he was no ordinary citizen. He was a leader of a Taliban contingent that was active in the area outside the city, even though the contingent did not then control the city itself. But as the Taliban started to make military gains, Akbari noticed a shift in the tone of the man's phone calls.
"The stronger the Taliban got, the stronger the threats got," she says.
He'd point out that Akbari belongs to the ethnic Hazara group â which generally follows the Shiite sect of Islam â and which the Taliban, which is predominantly Sunni, has a history of targeting.
"He would say, 'You're an infidel. You're against Islam. You're killing generations. We know what to do with you.' "
Soon, other Taliban members were also sending messages.
Ruchi Kumar, a journalist from India who was staying with Akbari for part of this time, saw some of the texts.
"They would send her these really horrible photos of dead bodies, telling her that this is how she's going to end up," says Kumar.
Other times, the Taliban members would try to extort Akbari.
Says Kumar: "They wanted her to pay money or buy them motorbikes or guns in exchange for her life."
And they'd claim she owed it as zakat â the traditional Islamic tithe.
Akbari says the fear was constant. Every time a patient arrived escorted by a man in traditional Taliban-type garb, she'd worry he was an infiltrator coming to kill her.
But Akbari was also determined to stick it out. When she was 20 years old, her parents had gotten permission to immigrate to Canada â and she could have joined them. But at the time, the Taliban had just been pushed out of power, and Akbari decided to get her medical degree in Afghanistan.
"I wanted to serve my people and establish myself in my own country," says Akbari.
The Taliban's advance made her feel she had no choice
But on Aug. 8, when she got the call from the husband saying he and his men were at the point of conquering the city, says Akbari, "I decided that this is it."
She headed straight to the airport â not even stopping at home for a change of clothes. She managed to buy a ticket on the spot for one of the last flights out. Boarding the plane, she was shocked to see it almost entirely filled with other women traveling alone, a rare sight in Afghanistan.
"That's when I knew for sure the Taliban had taken the city," she says.
Now she's in a neighboring country. But racked with uncertainty. She has just $400 on her and is staying with a friend who is the only person she knows there.
And she's mourning the loss of everything she has left behind. Her family. And the medical practice she spent more than a decade building.
"I haven't been able to sleep since the day I arrived. I can only sleep two hours in a day," she says, her voice choking up. "Overnight, everything I had has vanished."
But she says returning is not an option. She has heard from relatives in Afghanistan that the girl's husband is still calling, demanding to know Akbari's whereabouts.
And even if Akbari could relocate to a different part of Afghanistan, she says, it would be impossible to practice medicine.
"If I see a woman in trouble, I will want to help her," she says. "And the Taliban will say it's un-Islamic."

a trip to syracuse - colson baker
colson baker imagine
a trip to syracuse - a trip to syracuse leads to a cameo and a heart to heart.
word count: 4.9K (someone stop me)
the scene is in big time adolescence. if you havenât seen it, i highly recommend. itâs on hulu.Â
(this could be considered a part 2 to 21, but it could be read alone)
(GIF from tenor)
it was July. you had spent your last few months working your ass off at SNL before staring as a lead in your first comedy film after your second season of SNL had ended. you had been all over the country in the last few months. you were in New York for work. then, you traveled home to your hometown to visit your family during your first week of the summer hiatus. then, you had to ship out to LA to work on your movie. then, you somehow ended back in your hometown.
you were everywhere. busy. never had time for yourself, or the time to do what you really wanted.
you hadnât seen Colson since a few weeks after your birthday weekend. you texted back and forth. you called occasionally when you both had time. he made you laugh, and you, of course, enjoyed hearing about all his crazy stories. you looked forward to the random pictures he sent you from the studio or from set. he liked having something to share with someone, or rather, someone to share things with.
the two of you were like two best friends that could share everything with each other without needing to be physically there for each other. you could go days without talking because of your busy schedules, yet whenever you caught up with each other, it felt so natural. your relationship felt impossible to explain to anyone that asked. you felt connected to him somehow, but you couldnât place the feeling.
--
colson baker: you should come visit me
that was the text you got at 3 am on a Wednesday, well technically Thursday.
you smiled at your phone as you stared at it. the light blinded you as you laid in bed in your dark bedroom at your parentâs house. it was 4 am in New York. what could he have possibly been doing? you learned not to ask that question often when it came to Colson and Pete. they were night owls and tended to drink or smoke anything they could get their hands on. for your sake, youâd rather not know what they were doing. it helped keep your nerves at bay.
however, 4 am in New York tended to worry you a bit. you opened your phone, squinting as the light grew brighter. you began to type back.
       you: I should?
you: please tell me you are being safe
you scrolled through your phone as you waited for a response. your phone buzzed with a notification. you opened the message.
colson baker: safe at peteâs place
ah. Peteâs place was their new hangout. Pete was staying with his girlfriend, AG, as you called her, and it was technically her place. they were getting ready to head to Syracuse in a week or so for Peteâs new movie that Colson was making a cameo in.
       colson baker: you should visit
colson baker: call me a pussy but I miss you
you smiled at that text. he missed you. your heart thumped in your chest.
       you: I miss you too
you: text me tomorrow when you are sober and itâs not the middle of the night.
you: letâs see if sober colson wants me to visit
you watched as the typing bubbles appeared before the message appeared.
colson baker: sober colson said yes
colson baker: but, Iâll text you tomorrow about it
you laugh at his message before typing back.
       you: goodnight cols
       you: get some rest
your eyes began to lull shut, but you were determined to stay up for the next ten minutes in case he wanted to text you.
you fell asleep to one finally message from him.
       colson baker: goodnight velcro monkey
somehow the velcro monkey joke always made an appearance when someone was drunk or high. it made them laugh at how the reserved, independent person you were could turn into the clingiest drunk on the planet.
you smiled one last time before shutting off your phone and going back to sleep.
--
the next morning, you sat in your parentsâ kitchen answering emails on your laptop. your attention was occasionally pulled away from work as you watched your dogs play in the family room. it was good to be home for a bit, but your parents and dogs were a bit distracting when it came time to work.
âyour phone has been buzzing for the last 20 minutes,â you mom said setting your phone down at the kitchen table. âyou left this upstairs.â
âgod, thank you,â you tell her not looking up from your computer.
âa lot of messages from a Colson Baker,â she gives you a look, raising her eyebrow.
âwhoâs Colson Baker?â your dad asked butting into the conversation as he made his way into the kitchen.
you moved to quickly snatch you phone from them. you were an adult now with an adult job, yet they still treated you like a teenager.
âa friend,â you reply as you opened your phone.
you had four messages and a missed call from Colson.
âseemed like they really wanted to get a hold of you,â you mom hummed as she moved to make her third cup of coffee that day.
âwhy do they want to get a hold of you so badly? seems important,â your dad chimed in.
âguys, itâs fine. please chill,â you reply. âjust a friend. anyway, I have to take this call.â
you got up from the table before taking your dogs out to your back patio. you took a seat on one of the outdoor lounges as you called Colson.
âhey,â his raspy voice rang through the phone.
âhey,â you sigh. âwhatâs up with Syracuse?â
âyou should come visit me in Syracuse.â
âI know, but why Syracuse?â you laugh.
âPeteâs doing his movie, and weâre both making a cameo.â
you went silent for a bit.
âwe talked to the director this morning. they need background for my cameo scene, so I suggested you to Pete, and he was cool with it. the director said it was cool if you wanted to join the project for a cameo.â
       âare you serious?â
âdeadly. come spend the rest of the summer in Syracuse with me.â
âIâll have to check my schedule-â
âshut up,â he laughed. âI know youâre free.â
âyouâre right,â you sighed. âmy family isnât going to be happy with me leaving again, but they can just visit when SNL starts back up.â
       âso youâll do it?â
âsure, what else do I have to do?â you asked adjusting the phone to your ear. âplus, a week or two in Syracuse with you and Pete would be fun.â
âYES,â you heard him shout over the phone. âaight, cool,â he finally calms down. âIâll let Pete know.â
âalright, Cols. sounds good,â you sigh into the phone.
âwhatâs wrong?â he asked after a beat.
ânothing. Iâm just trying to figure out how to explain why a Colson Baker was blowing up my phone earlier to my parents.â
you heard him let out a laugh from his end. you heard him murmur something to someone. you heard him laugh once more before he addressed you.
âPete said to tell your parents that Iâm your dealer.â
âtell Pete that my parents might have a heart attack.â
you heard him mumble something before you heard a roar of voices.
âtell your parents that Colson works as a janitor for NBC,â you heard Pete yell into the phone.
âyou guys are ridiculous,â you sigh into the phone as you pinch the bridge of your nose.
âbut you love us,â Pete sang into the phone.
       âyeah, I do.â
you heard them laugh.
âyou could just tell you parents the truth,â Colson suggested. âI donât mind your family knowing. the whole reason we were keeping it quiet was to keep you out of the spotlight.â
you thought about it for a minute.
âand what exactly are we keeping from her family?â you heard Pete in the background.
âthat Iâm her best friend now. I replaced you,â Colson quickly replied.
âHEY,â you yelled sitting up in your seat. âI never said that.â
âitâs okay,â Pete said louder into the phone. you can only assume he was closer to the phone. âI know you love him more than me.â
âthatâs not true,â you said in a defensive tone. âI love you both equally.â
âRIIIIIGHT,â Pete drew through the phone.
       âright,â Colson agreed.
âitâs okay. I know who you text when youâre supposed to be working, (y/n),â Pete slyly said in the phone.
âknock it off, Pete,â you growl into the phone, causing the guys to laugh. âwhereâs your girlfriend? canât you go bother her?â
âoh shit,â you heard Pete say. âI forgot to bring her the food we made. bye (y/n).â
you laughed at him before you heard Colson.
âI took you off speaker. he went back into his room with the food.â
       âyou guys made breakfast?â
âyeah, our post-mushroom pancakes,â he said. âtotally came down from them a half hour ago. the foodâs probably cold as shit now.â
       âRIP to AGâs kitchen.â
       âRIP, indeed.â
you laughed.
âI canât wait to see you, Cols,â you smile into the phone.
âIâm excited to see you, too. Iâll send you a plane ticket.â
âI can pay for my own plane ticket. itâs okay,â you reply. âyou can save that up to buy me dinner when I get to Syracuse.â
       â(y/n) (y/l/n), are you asking me on a date?â
       âtoo forward?â you laugh.
ânot forward enough. maybe, I could buy you breakfast too?â
you laugh and cover your mouth with his suggestion before you finally calm yourself down.
âmaybe you could,â you reply coolly.
âNOOOO,â he whined into the phone. âcan you come to New York now?â
you laughed together before the conversation lulled into a gentle silence.
âcan I tell you a secret?â you whisper into the phone.
       âshoot.â
âIâve been listening to your music.â
you paused waiting for his reaction.
âoh boy, have I converted you to hip hop and rap?â
âno, I made an exception for Machine Gun Kelly,â you smile.
âreally?â you could hear him shift around. âgot a favorite?â
â27,â you reply too quickly. âIâm a sucker for the piano. Kiss the Sky and Habit are pretty good too.â
ânext show I have, youâre gonna be in the crowd. I want to perform for you.â
âfor me?â you ask in a posh voice. âyou could always give me a private show.â
       âI just might.â
suddenly, your attention was pulled to your mom who was standing at the back door. you raise an eyebrow at her as you listened to Colson mumble through the phone.
âhold on, Cols,â you tell him. âwhatâs up?â you ask her.
âweâre leaving in a half an hour to go to dinner at your grandparents. you need to get ready,â she replied.
you nod to her. she stood in the doorway waiting for you to get off the phone. you raised another eyebrow at her. she wanted to eavesdrop on your conversation.
âalright,â you sigh. âCols, I have to go. I have dinner with my grandparents.â
       âfine. fine. call me later?â
       âyeah, Iâll call you later.â
       âbye (y/n), love you.â
you smiled at that. even though the love was platonic, it felt good to hear it from him.
       âbye Cols, love you too.â
once you hung up, you gave your mom a pointed look.
       âlove, huh?â she smiled.
âjust a friend,â you mutter before calling the dogs in.
âjust a friend that you love,â she teased.
âso who is Colson Baker?â your dad chimed in once the two of you made it inside.
âheâs a friend of Pete and I,â you reply heading to the stairs.
âwhat does he do?â your dad asked looking up from his phone.
âjust look him up. I have to get ready.â
once you safely made it up the stairs and away from their questions, you began to rummage through your closet for clothes. you were pulled out of your search by your dad yelling up the stairs.
âMACHINE GUN KELLY. YOUâRE FRIENDS WITH MACHINE GUN KELLY?â
--
a week and a half later, you were on a plane to Syracuse. your parents werenât super hip about you leaving so soon, but you argued that it was for work. and, it was. you werenât lying.
they also were not so happy about your friendship with Colson, or Machine Gun Kelly as they knew him. your mom argued for the tattoos, which made no sense, since they liked Pete, and he had tattoos. they were also not so impressed that he was a rapper.
maybe, you shouldnât have let them read all the articles about him.
he was heavily misunderstood by the media, and Colson was not âMachine Gun Kellyâ. he was Colson Baker. you tried to explain that he was so much more than what the media portrayed, but your parents were more of the seeing rather than believing type.
with that all said, you were happy to be out of the house. you were tired of constantly arguing for and defending your friendship. anytime you got super defensive of Colson, your family accused you of being in love with him. were you? hell yeah. but, you werenât going to admit that to anyone. you ran from your feelings, remember?
once you finally landed at the airport in Syracuse, you texted the guys.
colson baker: in line waiting for you
colson baker: north pick up line
       colson baker: black escalade
when you finally made it out the doors with your baggage, you searched for the black escalade. you attention was pulled to the sound of doors opening, and you found Colson on the passenger side of the car as Pete climbed into the backseat. you smiled as you watched the guys. you made your way to them.
       âhi,â you smile.
âhi,â Colson replied looking down at you.
you kinda forgot what it was like to be around six-foot giants. Colson moved to take your bag from you before putting it in the trunk. after you helped him load up your bag, he took your hand and led you to the passenger seat.
before you could hop in, he grabbed you and kissed you. you moved to grip the fabric of his jacket as you kissed him back.
âdid you just kiss her? what? did he just kiss you?â Pete asked dumbfounded from the backseat as he looked back and forth from you and Colson.
you laughed to yourself as you buckled your seat belt while Colson made his way to the driverâs seat. as he hopped in and buckled up, he turned to you. you laughed before turning to Pete.
âanyone want to answer me? did you kiss her?â Pete said slapping Colsonâs shoulder with the back of his hand.
âyeah, I did. what are you going to do about it?â Colson raised an eyebrow at him.
you laughed picking at the skin of your lip.
âwhat the hell? am I third wheeling this whole trip?â
âdude, you would have had me third wheeling this whole trip if we didnât invite her.â
âhow long?â Pete whined. âhow long has this been a thing?â
âsince my birthday,â you reply quietly.
âsince your birthday,â he said dropping his jaw. âthat was months ago.â
âI know,â you laugh. âto be fair, we havenât seen each other much since. weâve been talking and stuff, though.â
       âwhat the hell, guys.â
you and Colson both laughed as he pulled out of his spot in line and drove toward your hotel.
âoh, I told my parents about you, and they googled you. they arenât very happy.â
       âfantastic.â
--
you spent your first day on set waiting around for the guys in Peteâs trailer before your call time. you and Colson sat and talked, just being close to each other after months apart. once it was finally your call time, you got your makeup and hair done, which wasnât much considering you were just an extra in a scene.
the director had you placed at a bar table with two other girls. drinks were all placed in front of you. you fixed your hair a bit before the director called action. the scene began and you just kept your head down, while you waited for your cue. one of the guys walked up to your table and began talking to the three of you. the camera panned over to your table, and the guy began his lines. you smiled and laughed at him.
âI already have a tab open so if you want another-â
âhey,â Pete yelled catching your attention. âIâm sorry about our friend. we found him in a dumpster. heâs a rescue. sorryâ
âitâs okay,â the girl next to you yelled.
âaw donât worry. heâs got all of his shots though, so he wonât bite,â Pete called back.
âoh,â the girl laughed. âwhat about your puppy?â
       âwho? Mo?â
âyeah, he looks a little young to be in here.â
âyou look a little old to be in here,â Pete shot back. you had to hold in your laugh.
âCUT,â the director yelled. âletâs do it one more time, just in case, and then move on.â
you repeated the scene once more before everyone moved on to the next part of your scene. the guys all crowded around your small table. Colson stood behind Pete, who was sitting on one of the barstools.
âyou guys look great. can we get another girl on the other side of Griffin please?â the director asked, gesturing to the second lead in the film. â(y/n), can you move?â
âyeah,â you reply before hopping out of your seat to sit on the other side of Griffin. you then realized that you were directly in the cameraâs line of vision.
you looked up at Colson who was across the table from you. he sent you a wink before taking a drink of whatever liquid was in his glass. you smiled back at him before Pete reached across the table to fist bump you. you laughed at him before getting ready for the scene.
the director moved back and called âAction.â
âMo actually got back from the army,â Pete started his lines.
       âyeah?â you respond.
âyeah, he was there for 16 years,â Pete replied to you.
âletâs not talk about, yeah,â Griffin responded giving Pete and Colson a look.
âanyway, yeah, he hasnât been laid in 16 years. how crazy is that?â Pete said before Colson could interrupt him.
âaye, to Mo,â Colson said bring his glass in.
âto Mo,â the table responded crashing the glasses together.
       âwelcome back brother,â Colson said.
       âyeah, man.â
âhoo-rah, right?â Colson said clinking his glass to yours.
       âhoo-rah,â Griffin cheered back.
âhey, may we all make it to heaven before the devil knows weâre dead, baby,â Colson yelled.
âYEAH,â Pete cheered back beating his chest like a frat boy.
âcheers,â Griffin called before clinking his glass to yours.
âwait. what does that mean?â Pete asked.
âlike, weâre sinners and-and-â Colson nodded his head. âand, bad motherfuckers, and heâs coming to suck us backâŚâ Colson paused to do a little motion before continuing. âhe wants us.â
âisnât that, like a Buzz Frontier song?â the other guy asked, and Colson looked up at him.
âwho wants us?â Pete interrupts looking at Colson. âwhat did he do? what did we do?â
âSatan, motherfucker, wants us,â Colson said moving his head to emphasize each word.
he then bent his head back up before making eye contact with you. one of the other girls began to laugh, which caused the table to laugh with her. Colson sent you another wink, and you smiled back at him.
âCut,â the director called. âthat was good. letâs do it one more time.â
--
you were sad that your scene was over. you liked working with Pete and Colson. after you finished getting out of your costume, you put your clothes back on before heading to Peteâs trailer. in there, Pete and Colson were lounging on the furniture. Â
âwhat are you two doing?â you laugh as you close the trailer door behind you.
âwaiting for you,â Pete shot back.
âwhatâs the plan?â you asked taking a seat on the couch next to Colson.
he wrapped an arm around you.
âI have to shoot for a few more hours, but we can meet up later,â Pete suggested.
âdo you want to go out?â Colson asked you. âwhile we wait.â
âsure,â you nodded. âwhat time do you think youâll be done?â you asked Pete.
ânot sure, but Iâll text you.â Pete stood up from his seat. âI have to get back, but Iâll see you later.â
âaight,â Colson replied reaching to dab up Pete.
Pete took his hand before patting you on the head.
âbye Pete,â you call to him as he leaves.
âbye, be safe,â he laughs back at the two of you.
as you watched the door of the trailer shut, you felt a pair of eyes on you. you turned to find Colson staring down at you.
âwhat?â you laugh at him. âdo I have something on my face?â
âno.â he gave you a small smile.
âthen, stop staring at me like that.â
       âstaring at you like what?â
âlike that,â you said pointing at his face. âmaking me feel self-conscious.â
âcanât help that youâre really pretty.â
âand thatâs my cue to go,â you say starting to get up from the couch.
Colson laughed behind you before pulling you back onto the couch.
âdo you want to go to the mall?â he asked smiling at you. âthen I can take you out for that dinner you promised me.â
âohhhh, I guess I did promise you a dinner,â you hum. âletâs go then.â
--
       âtry it on.â
âno. did you see how many zeros were on that tag?â
       âjesus, just try it on.â
       âno.â
âget in that goddamn dressing room and try on the goddamn dress,â Colson mutter quietly to you.
Colson had dragged you into some fancy boutique to âbuy you a dress.â you resisted, of course, and the fact that he was so willing to buy you an expensive dress scared you. you were very responsible with your money, and you never splurged on yourself. this, of course, was not going over well with Colson now that you were refusing to even try on a dress that was more than a hundred dollars.
âColson, itâs really expensive,â you softly say looking up at him.
âso?â he shrugged. âplease let me buy you something nice.â he gave you the closest thing he could to âpuppy dog eyes.â
âjesus, fine,â you breathe pulling yourself from his eyes. âIâm trying it on, but if I donât like it, youâre not buying it.â
âscouts honor,â he said holding up his hand.
with that, you snatched the hot pink mini dress from his hands and marched toward the dressing room. you could hear Colson lightly laughing at you as he watched you.
once you made it into the dressing room, you took a seat on the bench. you put your head in your hands before taking a breath. were you doing this? yes, and it went against every bone in your body. after you settled yourself down, you began to take off your clothes before trying on the dress.
once you began to slip on the dress, you couldnât get it to zip up. you tried every angle possible, but the zipper wouldnât budge. you let out a heavy sigh before collecting yourself. you peeked through the sliver of the door to see if Colson was outside the dressing room. you found him browsing at a rack of clothes a few feet from your dressing room.
you opened the door by a crack before poking your head out.
       âColson,â you whisper-yelled to him.
his head perked up before finding you. he began to stalk closer to you.
âhow does it look?â he asked when he got to you.
âI think I need a bigger size,â you admitted to him.
âIâll go grab the next size up, but can I at least see it?â
âno, it wonât zip up,â you shot back.
       âcan I try?â
       âcan you try?â
âjesus christ,â he sighed pinching the bridge of his nose. âjust turn around.â
you opened the door a bit more before turning around. you felt him place his hands on your hips before finding the zipper.
âthis should totally zip,â he whispered in your ear. âthe zipperâs just stuck.â
you felt him move the zipper down before pulling it back up. the dress finally zipped.
you sighed once the dress finally fit properly. as you glanced in the mirror, you fell in love with the dress. you looked good. it was almost as if the dress was made for your body. it didnât gap in weird places, and it wasnât too snug. it felt perfect, and for its price, you were glad it was perfect. it would be a rip-off if it wasnât.
       âdamn,â Colson whispered.
       âdamn,â you nodded.
       âyouâre getting it.â
âIâm not going to fight you on it,â you reply turning around to face him. ânow, get out so I can get dressed.â
âat least, let me unzip you first,â he laughed.
--
four hours and a shopping trip later, you and Colson were sitting in some fancy restaurant together. he was in a fashionable shirt and jacket while you sat in your hot pink mini dress.
âthank you for dinner,â you say reaching across the table to take his hand.
âyouâre welcome,â he smiled at you after he handed the paid check back to the waitress. âI promised you a dinner, didnât i?â
       âyou did,â you laugh.
âyou wanna get out of here?â he suggests nodding toward the door.
       âsure,â you nod back.
with that, he moved to help you out of your chair. with his hand in yours, the two of you headed to his rental car. he opened the passenger door for you. before you could get in the car, you turned and placed a hand on his cheek.
his eyes met yours, and your heart melted. his hands landed on your waist, and he pulled you close before planting his lips on yours. you leaned up to kiss him back. and there you were, standing in the parking lot of a fancy restaurant making out like a bunch of teenagers.
--
at sunset, the two of you were sitting at the private rooftop patio of your hotel. you were both laying on one of the daybeds watching the sky change colors. you were deep in thought.
âIâm scared,â you admit staring up at the sky.
âscared?â Colson quietly asked you from where he was laying next to you.
âyeah,â you breathe. âI donât do relationships. I run from them. maybe itâs my fear of rejection or my fear of getting hurt.â you pause for a moment. âI really like you. like really, really like you. and part of me is scared because I donât want to get hurt, but I want a relationship. I want love, you know?â
âI get it,â he murmured next to you.
you were both at the point of the night where deep conversations were rolling. should you have been so honest with him? who knows. would you regret it tomorrow? maybe. but, right now, it had been said.
âand, I want a relationship with you.â he rolled over on his side to face you. âIâm just scared because I donât want to be just another girl for you. you buy me a pretty dress and take me to dinner with the hopes that I land in your bed tonight, and it makes me wonder,â you whisper.
you could feel his gaze. he took one of your hands and placed a kiss on the backside of it.
âyou and I both know my track record with relationships kinda suck,â he starts. âbut, I want this to work.â he brushed a peace of hair from your face. âIâve never felt this way with anyone, and Iâm going to be completely honest when I say it scares the shit out of me. and, if it makes you more comfortable, we can take this relationship at whatever speed you want it to go. I just want to be with you. I want to make this work, and I want to be a part of your life. I want this relationship to be more than just texts at 4 am and kissing you once every three months.â
you were both quiet for a bit. you were processing what he had said. he wants this to work. he wants to be with you. he wants this relationship, and he wants it to be more.
âIâm gonna fall in love with you if you keep saying shit like that,â you whisper after your moment of silence.
âgood,â he smiled placing a hand on your cheek. âbecause, Iâm falling in love with you.â
your breath caught in your throat. you wrapped your arms around his neck before pulling him down to you. he placed his lips on yours and kissed you. laying there in the daybed, you kissed him back.
       âbe my whatever,â he whispered.
âbe your whatever?â you ask raising an eyebrow.
âyeah, whatever you want to call yourself. just be mine. be mine, baby.â
       âokay.â
and you kissed him once more.

Christmas vacation. 18+
Kim Namjoon x reader
Warnings: sir!namjoon/ voyeurism/ unprotected/ masturbation (f)/ oral(b)
Words: 4021
Every year your family spends Christmas with the Kim family. Your parents have been friends since long before you were born.
You used to really enjoy these dinners: your motherâs Christmas cookies, the Korean soup the Kim family brought with them, and of course the small pile of brand-new toys to play with. It was especially fun to have Namjoon around, he had been your first crush, and this was the only time you could get his attention all to yourself; none of his friends in the way making him ignore you as they laugh.
Youâd been really good friends when you were young; but at some point it became uncool to be friends with girls. So bowing to peer pressure he started being mean when others were around, eventually leading to being mean when it was only the two of you. At that point you decided it wasnât worth the effort and moved on to bigger and better things, ignoring him or being snarky and mean back.
Your friends never understood why you guys were so mean to each other, he had a reputation around school as being one of the nicest people to work with (and be around in general). However you had never managed to fix the ever-growing rift between you. You hated the very sight of him, even when he left to become an idol. If anything it made it so much worse when his face was everywhere and anyone new you met idolized the band.
Which brought you to this Christmas, the first one he would be attending in two years. You had whined at your mom about not wanting to stay this year, claiming you were old enough to not spend the holidays with them. You should be able to go to a friends and actually enjoy yourself. Your mom was having none of. She shut down your new plans as soon as they left your mouth; you immediately started pouting like a child.
âLook Y/N, it wonât do you any good to spend the next day and a half looking like an angry toddler, all itâs going to do is give you wrinklesâ your mom chided. You huffed and straightened out your features, she was right after all.
On Christmas day the Kimâs arrived without Namjoon in toe. You couldnât help but feel relieved. Probably too busy with last minute dance class or something equally dumb. It was great thinking you might get to avoid him for another year.
You went about the day as normal: talking with the Kims, watching a Christmas movie, and opening the presents under the tree before dinner. Unfortunately, just as you sat down to eat he strolled through the door, oozing confidence and arrogance.
âSorry Iâm late, got caught up saying goodbye to the boysâ he shrugged bending to kiss his mother and taking the only seat left at the table⌠next to you. His leg brushed against yours under the table sending shivers up your spine as you physically recoiled. Your parents stare at you both pointedly until you make the effort to speak to one another.
âY/N, how are you? I see youâve not been up to anything special of lateâ he jeered sounding almost bored.
âIâm sorry we canât all be global superstars at age 26 Joonâ he inhaled sharply in amusement that that was the best you could throw at him.
The two of you ate in silence while your families caught up with each other. As you had gotten older, your two families found themselves spending less and less time together with increasingly busy schedules. Thatâs when they came up with their latest brilliant idea.
âBy the way guys we have a surprise present for the both of youâ said Mrs. Kim, a smile on her face as she handed you both a sae bae don. With your family eyeing you expectantly you open the red envelopes to reveal plane tickets to the Caribbean for the following week.
âOh my gosh this is amazing; I have always wanted to go to the Caribbean!â you squealed. In your excitement you knocked over the gravy on the table, accidently covering yourself, and Namjoon, in the hot liquid.
âFuck Y/N, youâre such a klutz!â he yelped as he jumped from his seat. After being chastised for his language he stormed off to the bathroom to clean himself off, pulling his top over his head and showcasing his muscular back as he went. Your heart fluttered with what you assumed was rage as you huffed and headed into the laundry room. You were standing there in just your bra soaking your shirt before it ruined when he walked in behind you.
âGod donât you knock?â you squeaked as you pulled one of your dadâs shirts in front of you to cover yourself from his view, not missing the way his eyes raked down your body.
âHello? Iâm talking to you Joon?â you wave a hand in front of his face to get him to stop looking at you.
âTypically, walking into a public room of a house, I donât knock no. Your mom told me to grab one of your dadâs shirts to borrowâ you recovered from your original embarrassment noticing he was also stood there shirtless. Your eyes following a similar pattern to the one his had just taken down your curves. He took a step towards you, invading your personal space and towering over you. You stood there for a moment unsure of what he was planning. He broke eye contact first taking your dadâs shirt out of your hands before pulling it over his head. He snorted at the bewildered look on your face and left the room, leaving you there breathing much heavier than you were before and once again half naked. You pulled on a shirt from the clean laundry and headed back to join your family for the board game part of your Christmas festivities. Namjoonâs eyes caught yours every so often, he was very distinctly handsome, and the thought of him shirtless and so close to you wouldnât leave your mind. If only he had a more tolerable personality.
âŚ..
Two weeks passed and you found yourself standing with Namjoon at the entrance to a hotel room. Your parents had insisted you were way too old to share with them, which made sense, they deserved their privacy too. Unfortunately, that left you with a less than desirable roommate.
âYou guys wonât even be in the hotel room that often, youâll barely see each otherâ your dad had reasoned when the two of you started to put up a fight âplus we are not paying for the extra roomâ
You headed inside putting your suitcase on the bed closest to the window.
âWhat if I wanted that bed?â Namjoon grumbled.
âShould have gotten to it fasterâ you shrugged unzipping it to unpack.
After your stuff had been put away you changed out of your airplane clothes into a bikini and sheer wrap. At the sound of you exiting the bathroom Namjoon looked up from the book he was sat reading on his bed. His eyes trailed down your form through your wrap, reminiscent of his roaming gaze on Christmas. You went to make snide comment but instead he quickly closed the book, grabbed a pair of trunks, and headed for the bathroom. Not waiting for him to finish you called out that you were heading for the pool and left the room.
Everyone else was already downstairs when you reached the side of the pool. You set down your towel and chose the best sun lounger with your group. You get settled in and close your eyes ready for a nap in the warm sun after the long flight. Not long into your attempt at a sleep a shadow covered your body making you scowl, but not open your eyes.
âYou canât have the best bed and the best sun lounger, thatâs not fairâ Namjoon points out bitterly.
âLike I said before, you shouldâve been fasterâ you smirk a little too proud of yourself.
âIs that right?â you felt the shadow over you move and settled back in, assuming youâd won the little banter and he would now go sulk elsewhere. Unfortunately for you, he had actually just moved to get a better grip. He pulled you over his shoulder in a firemanâs lift and carried you towards the deep end of the pool. You opened your eyes wide in shock and started to thrash around panicking.
âJoon you put me down right this instant.â You screamed. His only response was to slap you firmly on the bum and growl.
âYouâre done being such a tease to meâ the low tone in his voice made you feel tight at your core, but you didnât have time to fully digest what he said because you were swiftly dropped into the water waiting below. As you came up for air planning to chastise him, he cannonballed next to you covering you in a tidal wave. He laughed at the drowned rat look you were now sporting. Embarrassed and annoyed you went with the only fitting punishment and pushed a large amount of water in the idols direction, resulting in a full splash war. Trying to gain the traction you needed to push him fully underwater and drown him, you jumped on his back and wrapped your hands in his hair.
âHey thatâs not fairâ he whined trying to shake you free. You laughed at his failed attempts clinging on for dear life as he flipped backwards, sending you both under the water. The pair of you were laughing when you came up for air. Itâs nice to laugh with him again, your mind started to wander as you realized the position youâd put yourself in.
Now clung to his front, your legs wrapped around his waist putting you practically nose to nose. You released and recoiled immediately, clambering out of the pool, and making excuses to your family before heading back inside. For someone you hate so much, he definitely had an immensely powerful effect on you lately.
You reached your room quickly, and content that Namjoon probably wouldnât be back for a while you grabbed the small silver vibrator from the secret compartment within your suitcase and ran a bath for yourself to wash the day away. Too busy rubbing your swollen clit and thinking about how attractive Namjoon was to you all of a sudden. You hadnât heard him come back into the room. After he called out for you and got no response, he opened the bathroom door in order to freshen up for an afternoon lunch by the ocean.
He is shocked to find you masturbating. Mouth ajar, headphones in, one leg over the side of the bath to give you better access to yourself. Mesmerized, he didnât move out of the door frame. Instead he watched as you got closer and closer to your high, little mewling sounds leaving your lips, and then one word he never expected to hear.
âNamjoonâ you moaned as your body convulsed slightly reaching your edge.
His pants twitched looking at you like that forcing him back into reality. Quickly he exited the room before you came around and saw him stood there. He sat on his bed readjusting himself to make it less obvious that he was sporting a semi, playing innocent when you walk out of the bathroom in a new outfit ready for lunch.
âOhâ you said sheepishly âI didnât realize you were back in the roomâ the blush left on your skin from youâre orgasm intensified. He refused to make eye contact but shrugs
âIâve only just walked inâ he stood and pushed passed you into the bathroom and you released a sigh of relief as you took the bullet out of your cleavage and hid it back in its special compartment. Feeling slightly disgusted about masturbating to the thought of a guy you supposedly hate, you tried to get your mind to focus on other things, taking one of the books Namjoon brought with him off the bedside table.
You were upside-down, legs up on the wall, 3 chapters deep when Namjoon walked back into the room, his face flushed pink. Youâd put it down to sunburn and the two of you lest, ready to go out and meet your families.
Its late by the time you guys got back to the room, having gone on an exploration of the area after dinner, then a bar. You were three or four drinks in, and more than ready to flop into bed, but something was bothering you.
âWhatâs your problem?â you asked accusatorily âYouâve been glaring at me since dinner, does my existence really bother you that much?â he sighed and turned away from you to head into the bathroom trying to ignore your question. But you blocked his way passed, putting a hand on his chest to try to prevent him from moving forward.
âNo, answer me, you donât get to ignore me for the next two weeks just because you want to be an assholeâ he finally met your questioning gaze, something dancing behind his deep brown eyes. He grabbed your hand from its position on his torso and used it as leverage to push you up against the wall, you seized up; unsure of where to go from here, he was just staring at you, gaze flicking between your eyes and mouth.
âWhat do you think youâre doing?â your voice came out a lot quieter than you wanted it to. He inched ever closer, your body now flat against the cool wall behind you.
âI saw you todayâ he finally broke his silence, his voice low and raspy, sending your mind reeling.
âSaw me do what exactly?â you gulped having a feeling you already knew what.
âYou were touching yourself⌠and thinking of meâ his confident smirk doing nothing to stop the heat that pooled in your stomach.
âI donât know what you meanâ you grimaced, looking away; trying to hide the blush creeping up your face. He applied more pressure to keep you from squirming out of his hold. Using his free hand he pulled your face back to his. His mouth a whisper away as he breathed the next words.
âI canât get the sight of you out of my head, spread wide, pushing yourself to the limit with that pathetic little toy. I could give you something much better to please yourself withâ
You snorted at his attempt and came to your senses, pushing him away.
âYou seem to have forgotten my intense dislike of you Joon.â You Walked back to your bed, far out of his reach. Watching his next move carefully, you could hear your heart beating loud in your chest. Fairly sure he could hear it too. He didnât give up, moving closer to you, grabbing your wrists, and pulling you up to him again.
âThings can change Y/N, now do as youâre toldâ he leaned forward and pressed his mouth to yours tentatively, seeking the approval to continue. Frozen there, your brain tried to figure out what was happening between the two of you. Whether you wanted this because you like him or because of the alcohol. Relenting you melted into his form, deepening the kiss yourself. He needed no further approval and lifted you to wrap your legs around his waist pushing the two of you back against a wall.
âGod Iâve been waiting for this since we were like 16â he admitted as he moved his lips down to your collarbone licking and sucking his way along.
âYeah right assholeâ you said breathless.
âWatch what you call me angelâ he growled out the threat surprising you. âItâs sir or master nowâ
âWho are you kidding?â you sniggered, and he pus you down. You looked into his eyes to see there is no joking going on instead he pushed you hard onto his bed. He manhandled you onto all fours and he spanked you twice, not hard but firm enough to assert himself. The sudden aggression turned you on even more. You could feel yourself soaking through your underwear. You tried to turn to see him, but he applied pressure to your shoulders preventing you from pivoting your body. He leaned down so he could whisper in your ear.
âIs this okay?â he nibbled on your ear waiting for your response. You nodded slowly, not trusting your voice to not betray you with a moan. âI need you to tell me, tell me youâre okay baby girlâ
âIâm okayâ you let out a shaky breath of anticipation.
âIâm okay, who?â the smirk was evident in his voice knowing that he hadnât even begun to touch you properly and you were already this turned on
âIâm okay, sirâ You conceded but there was a venom in the word as you said it. He chuckled to himself.
âGod you are such a little brat, guess Iâll have to fix thatâ he released his hold on your shoulders and you turned to lie flat onto your back gazing up and biting your bottom lip waiting to see how he decided to punish you. Heâs stood above you carefully and slowly undoing the buckle on his belt.
âSit upâ came his only command you did as told mesmerized by the motion of his slender fingers working to free himself from his pants. His cock girthier than expected and already leaking precum proving he was just as turned on as you.
âOpenâ he said, but you turned your head like a petulant child, wanting to know how far you could push him and this new dynamic heâd tried to create between the two of you. He chuckled at your defiance and pulled your head back to face front. Hand holding under your chin his thumb ran across your mouth forcing your lips to part for him and having you suck on it.
âDonât test me princessâ there was danger in the tone of his voice as he moved his thumb out of your mouth to grab your hair and pull you gently by it to your knees. This time you opened your mouth expectantly tongue out and ready, waiting for him to allow you to continue. He placed the head of his cock on to your tongue and you licked down the shaft causing him to tremor slightly before taking him in fully.
He had been so busy with the band lately; it must have been a while since he had gotten the chance to release himself. He used your hair as leverage to force his cock further down your throat causing tears to form in the corners of your eyes and a small cough try to escape around the thick mass. He pulled his cock almost all the way out before ramming back into you, fucking your throat roughly. You felt him tense as if nearing a release and he pulled away; you moan at the sudden removal from and wipe your mouth with the back of your hand. Looking at him with questioning eyes he offered a hand to help you up. You took it and he pulled you in close kissing you fervently, tasting himself on you.
âYouâre too much baby girlâ he breathed and then pushed you on to the bed, undoing and pulling down your pants, his fingers traced slowly down your legs. He tossed your clothes aside and separated your legs getting a good look at your core for the first time. He bit at your thigh the sudden pleasure making you moan a little too loud. âCareful kitten my parents are in the room next doorâ youâd put a hand to your mouth as the other clawed into the bed to try and help you steady yourself.
Namjoon blew softly on your clit making you shiver. His eyes met yours asking if he could taste you. You nodded and he glared back for a moment until you realised your mistake.
âYyyes sirâ you stammered no longer needing a prompt to use the name. Thatâs all he needed for him to lick a line up your thigh before flicking his talented tongue against your clit. He dragged his tongue through your folds before plunging deep into your hole, tasting the arousal heâd made you feel. He grabbed your hips creating small halfmoon marks where his nails dug into your skin. He sucked hard on your clit making you throw your head back from the shockwave it sent up your core. He brought one hand down to help him please you, slowly pushing two fingers all the way into you. You constricted around the digits, grinding down onto them, making him hit your sweet spot. He pumped his fingers in and out scissoring occasionally to stretch you. You core is wound tighter and tighter as you got closer to your release.
âI think Iâm Iâm Iâm gonna c..â you trailed off and he suddenly left you empty and alone. As a reflex you reached with grabby hands to get the feeling of him back and he chuckled.
âBaby girl, surely you didnât think it would be that easy? Not after what a brat you were to meâ you cried out regretting your defiance.
âPlease sir, pleeeaseâ you begged, fully submitting to the new dynamic you have.
âGet your toy, finish yourself offâ he settled into the hotel chair cock in hand. You blushed, mortified by the thought of masturbating knowing he is watching. You stood to move to him, to sit on his lap, get him to touch you again, but he deterred your advances.
âYou have your order princessâ he grinned âcome on do this and maybe Iâll reward youâ you did as you were told and fetched the small toy from its hiding place. Youâd lay on your bed and got ready to start.
âNo Y/N, on my bedâ you got up and moved, arranging yourself to face him. Unable to meet his eyes you began rubbing figure of eights with the small toy moaning as it touched the most sensitive parts You felt his eyes watching you intently spurring you on. His name tumbling from your lips proved too much for him, his hands were back on you
âDonât stopâ he commanded as his tongue joined the toy in pleasuring you. The feeling pushed you over the edge immediately, but he was relentless, overstimulating you. You tried pulling the toy away from your clit to give yourself some respite.
âI said donât stopâ he growled, and you brought the stim back as you rode out your high. He pulled back from you to line himself up, slowly pushing himself into you, stretching you around him, giving you time to adjust to the sudden change in pressure. He started to pump himself into your core, hitting your cervix every now and again. The bullet still at your clit and his rhythm brought you close once again. You clenched your walls around him providing both of you with extra friction.
âNot yet baby, donât cum yetâ he picked up the pace and you took the toy away from your clit grabbing onto his back to help keep you steady. He pumped into you a few more times before he started to studder reaching his end. He reached down between the two of you to rub your clit himself, bringing you back to the edge, you came quickly and as you did, he let himself release deep within you. He collapsed next to you on the bed pulling you close leaving a trail of kisses along your back. You both lay there quietly for a little while.
âThatâs not where I thought this holiday was going to take usâ you exhaled still a little breathless.
âThatâs not where I thought this holiday would take us, sirâ he teased.
âYeah thatâs not happening againâ you tried to shoot back both of you knowing full well that you were lying.

Sweet ChaosâKim Seungmin
Synopsis: Seungmin falls in love with a sweet stranger, but doing so may put his career in jeopardy. Is he willing to risk everything for love?
Genre: Slow Burn, Fluff, Angst, Hurt/Comfort, oneshot
Word Count: 7k
It started about a month ago when Seungmin met you outside of a Day6 concert. You were in front of the venue busking, singing along to acoustic renditions of their songs and he couldnât help but join you. Who could resist singing along to Day6? It was his weakness. The two of you harmonized and found your synergy easily. His voice complimented yours, as you two practically sang their whole album. It was almost cliche how much fun he had.Â
Originally he was going to watch it with his manager, but he had a family emergency last minute so he gave Seungmin special permission to attend the concert alone. It was a safe bet. He was well behaved. The venue wasnât far from the dorms and it was a JYP event so staff would be nearby. However his singing did garner a bigger crowd, he lowered his cap regretting his decision and hoping you and the crowd hadnât recognized him. Luckily for him a car pulled up escorting another idol to the concert and that was enough to distract the fans to see who it was.
He should have disappeared in the crowd, gone through the staff entrance and kept his head low until the concert started. But instead, he stayed back to talk to you. Because well, you were pretty and had a lovely voice and was a fan of Day6 so who could say no to hanging out with a Fellow MyDay?
âWhere are you going to put your guitar during the concert?â he frowned seeing the line start to move as the fans were let in.Â
You laughed nervously, scratching the back of your head. âOhâŚâ your voice trailed as you looked away, almost too embarrassed to tell this wonderfully adorable stranger the truth. âIâm not actually going to see the concert.â
âAre you not a fan?â he frowned
âOh no-I am. A huge fan actually, itâs just by the time I got paid the tickets were sold out and the resell prices were out of my price rangeâ you shrugged before standing up with your guitar. âYou should probably get in lineâ Your heart melted seeing his lips go into a pout. âIâm fine really, donât feel bad.â you waived your hands. âIâll see them at the next concertâ
âYou can sit with me. I have an extra ticketâ he smiled, digging in his pocket and pulling out the extra lanyard. âHereâ
âOh no- thatâs a VIP ticket I canât-â
âMy Hyung was supposed to come with me, but heâs busy. If you donât take the ticket itâs gonna go to wasteâ
You frowned looking to the line that was moving a lot faster into the building. You really did want to go, and maybe this was the miracle you prayed for? âHere let me buy it from youâ you grabbed your wallet pulling out all the cash you had âI can send you the rest through-â
âNo, I want to give it to youâ
âBut-â
âCome on, we should hurryâ he chuckled, grabbing your hand and guitar leading you to the VIP line.Â
âI donât even know your nameâ you giggled, you couldnât help but mirror his puppy-like smile.Â
âIâm Seungminâ he looked back to you, his eyes practically twinkling. You introduced yourself following his lead
And that was how you had the best the night of your life. Day6 delivering one of the best performances youâd ever seen. All from an amazing pit view. The concert was even more memorable with the new friend youâd just made.
After the show, you insisted on buying him dinner at your favorite hole in the wall restaurant near the station. You held his hand, leading him inside. âHi, Auntie~â you chimed walking toward the back. âOrder anything and everything you wantâ
âYou donât have to buy me dinner, reallyâ he smiled, taking off his coat.Â
âAre you kidding? You just gave me the most amazing night of my life, dinner is the least I could do since you wonât take my moneyâ
âI would just feel bad making you pay, youâre so pretty and you took me out, I should be buying you dinnerâ he pouted.
âYou think Iâm prettyâ you teasedÂ
âYou think Iâm handsomeâ he shot back, his smile, tugging into a smirk.Â
âYou caught meâ you laughed âHow âbout next time you buy me dinnerâ you winked, catching how he had to do a double-take at you.
He blushed looking back at his menu, trying to ignore how flustered you made him. He was used to having women around him but he knew he was vastly inexperienced. There was a difference between having staff, other idols, and even Stays. Being with you made him feel like these were the experiences he would have had if he hadnât debuted in highschool. Â
You reached over the table to feed him a bite of the rice soup. âAh~â you lightly blew on it before offering the spoon to him. He opened his mouth letting you feed him, all while keeping eye contact with him. You brushed the stray rice grain from his cheek. âGood right?â
He nodded, unable to find the words to respond to your advances. Especially because he liked them.Â
âYouâre so cuteâ you stared at him, almost in a dreamy gaze leaning on your hand.Â
âStop looking at me like thatâ he pouted.
âLike what?â you grinned.
He huffed before digging into the chicken, not knowing how to deal with that mischievous glint in your eyes. You couldnât help but smile at him, Seungmin was just so sweet. Everything about him disarmed you, that gorgeous smile, his beautiful dark brown puppy-like eyes, even how his nose scrunched when he laughed. But it wasnât that you were so physically attracted to him. It was how kind he was, like when you were at the concert he always made sure you werenât pushed, even to the point of holding your waist to hold you close.Â
The owner walked over with a refill of soup, a kind smile on her face. âYouâve never brought a boy here before~ Aigooo and heâs so handsomeâ she couldnât help but squeeze Seungminâs cheeks as he greeted her.Â
âUgh, Auntie please.â you rolled your eyes. âIâve been coming here since I was a kidâ you explained to him. âSeungmin took me to the Day6 concert it was amazingâ
âAww thatâs so sweet, Iâm glad you got to goâ she looked him over. âYouâre seriously so handsome, are you an idol?â
You scoffed before eating a spoon full of soup. âAuntie please, not everyone is an idol.â you rolled your eyes. âSeungmin isnât superficial.â
She raised her hands in surrender âI was just askingâ she smiled at him. âDonât mind her she doesnât like idols very much, I, however, think theyâre adorableâ the older woman cooed at him again. âAre you a student? Or a model or something?â
Seungmin looked back and forth between the two of you. What was he supposed to say? He didnât want to lie and say that he wasnât an idol, but judging from your reaction, you didnât seem keen on him being an idol. And something about that made him want to keep that part of his life a secret. It wasnât like he could go around telling people right? He was supposed to lay low tonight. âIâm a studentâ he chuckled nervously.Â
âWhich university do you go to?â you looked at him expectantly.
âY-Yonseiâ It was the first university to come to mind, heâd always pass it on his commute.Â
âWow youâre smartâ you nodded, satisfied with his answer. âIâm a second year at Seoulâs Women University, we should study sometime.âÂ
And thatâs how he got into this mess. Itâd already been three weeks; it was taking everything in him to keep up the charade. But heâd be lying if he said he didnât like feeling normal. The days that youâd go to the cafe, heâd usually pick one on the far side of town, or studying at your university library. The daily text messages, and late night phone calls. It was like the life he could have had.
Something he didnât know he was missing.Â
On his days off heâd get permission to, âvisit his parentsâ and be able to leave for the night, and secretly went to meet you. On days with schedules heâd just wait until everyone fell asleep and snuck out. If he got caught heâd make up an excuse that he was just going to practice. He felt guilty for lying. To you, his members, even his parents. He just kept convincing himself heâd find an opportunity to fess up.Â
He knew that once you found out he was an idol, youâd want nothing to do with him.
Maybe thatâs why he was stalling.Â
Seungmin quietly made his way out of his bedroom. The two of you had a late night movie date planned. Heâd been prepping for a comeback so he didnât have as many opportunities to see you, and honestly he just missed you. It was a little past midnight when his members knocked out, dance practice was tough and they needed to recover. Chan and Jisung were still in the studio and Felix was gaming in the living room and he was almost out the door when he ran into Jeongin outside of the dorm.Â
âHyung?â Jeongin smiled âWhat are you doing out here?â
âI..â he faltered for a moment âI was just going to practice the new song a little more.â he eyed him suspiciously. âWhy are you out here?â
Jeonginâs shoulders slumped before he looked around. âI snuck out to the convenience store to get snacks.â he shyly hid the bag behind his back âDonât tell the Hyungs?â
He chuckled âOk I wonât, I didnât see youâ he playfully motioned to zip his mouth closed and throw away the key.
Jeongin smiled brightly before thanking him. âThank you so much Hyung! Iâll share my snacks with you laterâ he scurried back toward the dorm. âOh, donât practice too hard, remember to get some sleep tooâ
He watched, making sure Jeongin got into the elevator safely but feeling this sting that he had to lie to him.Â
Your apartment was only a few blocks from the dorm, but he made sure to take back roads, and kept his cap and mask on before entering the building. He knew he wasnât on Dispatchâs watch list but he knew he had to be careful.
When you buzzed him in he was greeted by your hug immediately. You motioned to the makeshift pillow fort youâd thrown together in front of your tv âIsnât it cute?â You chimed.Â
âItâs adorable,â he laughed taking off his hat, mask, and shoes at the door. âYou didnât have to go through this troubleâ he left you drag him toward it, following you inside, careful not to hit anything.Â
âI know but I wanted to do something, youâve been so busy latelyâ you frowned. âI guess I just wanted to distract you from schoolâ
And there it was another lie that he told to keep up this act. He pushed that feeling to the back of his mind. âIs it ok if we donât watch a movie?â
âSureâ you frowned. âWhat did you want to do? Was the movie thing too cheesy?â
âNo...Itâs just...I really just wanna hear your voice.â he smiled watching your reaction.Â
Your eyes widened at his sudden confession. The two of you had managed to flirt a little here and there and although you never explicitly stated whatever this was you knew there was something. He just wasnât usually so forward. He was always pretty shy and you guessed thatâs why you never had a problem being bolder. You felt your cheeks warm as you looked anywhere but him, when you grabbed your guitar and pulled it into the pillow fort. âHow about a songâ you laughed, nervously trying to regain your composure âI havenât heard your voice since the Day6 concert and I miss it.âÂ
Everything about the setting was just so romantic, the soft lighting from your fairy lights, the pillows and blankets blocking everything out. It was like a dream. No pressure of his lies, or the outside world just you and him.Â
You strummed the strings warming up your voice before humming before singing Day6âs Sweet Chaos. You looked up at him expectantly as he sang along.Â
Because of you, Iâm losing control
Itâs a sweet chaos
Ever since you entered
My life, my dreams, my future
Everything has changed
He loved watching you sing, how you wore every single expression so freely. Nothing seemed calculated. It disarmed him. He lost himself in the moment just watching you.Â
You looked up at him from under your lashes, your mouth parting as you struggled to find something to say under his intense expression. He leaned forward, taking your guitar and gently setting it down before holding your cheek. His eyes searching your expression for any form of hesitation before he pressed his lips against yours. You held the front of his hoodie, responding to the kiss. Leaning into him he gasped feeling your tongue brush against his lips. Feeling him stiffen you pulled back. âIâm sorry I-â
âNo, I kissed youâŚâ
âI liked itâŚâ you mumbled biting your lip.
âMe tooâŚâ he brushed your hair back and pulled you back to him for another kiss. Pressing him back as you deepened the kiss, he wrapped his arms around your waist and laid back. You pulled back to catch your breath as you straddled him. âIs this ok to keep doing?â he laughed, tracing your skin just below where your t-shirt had rode up.
âSeungmin I donât know if youâve noticed this but I really like youâ you cupped his chubby cheeks pecking his lips again.
âI like you too...a lot.â he felt a pressure instantly lift the moment he confessed.Â
The softness of his gaze was so disarming and warm. He gently pulled you back to another kiss, his lips slowly becoming more aggressive as he tangled his fingers into your hair, smiling into the kiss. Any moment you chased his kiss he would just gaze into your eyes again, almost to make sure the moment was real and it melted your heart.Â
He spent all night learning everything about you. Your touch, your taste, the sweet sounds you made for him. Somewhere along all your greedy touching the fort had fallen, covering you two in the blankets. Youâd both lost your shirts but stopped before it could get too far. He didnât want to rush things, and he still couldnât shake the guilt he had for lying. Sleeping with you just didnât feel right yet...Not until he was honest.Â
You leaned on his chest drifting in and out of sleep. Hearing the lull of his heart was so soothing as he absently rubbed soothing circles on your back.Â
He pecked your hair, tugging you a little closer. âYou asleep?â he whispered, more so to himself.Â
âHmm?â you hummed sleepily.Â
âOn the first night we hung out you said you didnât like idols...I just never asked why?â
You yawned peaking up at him curiously. âHm? Why do you ask?â you furrowed your brows. âOh is it because Iâm a fan of Day6?â he nodded, trying to read your reaction. You smiled before going back to lay your head on his chest, lacing your fingers with his. âI just donât like idols...I donât actively hate them or anything I just feel like the whole thing feels a little superficial⌠The whole concept, dancing, company made songs...Iâm just not a fan, like you canât tell if theyâre being genuine or if itâs their imageâŚâ you shrugged. âI hear songs here and there and a lot of girls in my school like them but I personally just like bands.â you smiled to yourself. âLike I can tell whatâs going on in their life and what theyâre going through with the songs they write.â
He just nodded, losing any nerve he had about coming clean. The thing you dislike idols for was the very thing he was doing. Being disingenuous.Â
You could almost feel his heart begin to race more. âSeungmin? You ok?â you frowned.Â
âIâm fineâ he smiled, grabbing your chin and pulling you into a kiss.Â
âMmmâŚâ you smiled looking at him with glazed eyes. âSeungmin itâs ok if youâre a fan of idols I wonât hold it against youâ you giggled, brushing your nose against him, giving him eskimo kisses.Â
âPromise?â he whispered.
âI promiseâ you gave him another peck before, settling against him.Â
After another month or so the two of you had developed more of a routine. Seungmin was spending almost every night at your place, and sneaking back into the dorm before morning. He was working himself to the bone to keep up the double life but seeing your smiling face, or holding you in his arms made everything worth it.Â
It was your one month anniversary and although you werenât normally one to celebrate something like a one month, your time with Seungmin was always so limited. Every moment felt so special. You planned this big event for him filling your apartment with balloons and getting a cake. You waited at the cafe down the road to meet him, that way you could walk back to your apartment together.Â
You smoothed down your hair and checked your reflection in the cafe window, straightening your dress. Seungmin always dressed so dandy and dapper you wanted to match him for once, so you opted on something girlier. It was a special occasion. You smiled at your phone seeing his text.
My Seungminnie đ : Sorry iâm running late! Iâm on my way đ See you soon Â
He said he only lived down the road from the cafe, so you chose to wait outside for him. He should hurry, it looks like it might start raining soon. You looked up at the ominous dark clouds rolling in.Â
Seungmin showered after dance practice, and was getting ready to meet you. He fluffed down his hair, slipping on his hat and making his way to the living room. He frowned seeing his team all waiting in there, Chan looking particularly stressed.Â
âWhatâs wrong?â he looked at them, reading the mood.Â
âWhere are you going?â Chan looked up at him, raking his hand through his curly hair. Seeing Seungmin look away for a moment, he could almost tell he was trying to think up something. âSeungmin pleaseâŚâ
âI was just going to a cafeâŚâ
âSeungmin stop.â Chan stood up, frustrated and started pacing. âSit.â
âBut Channie-Hyung I have to-â
âI said sit.âÂ
Seungmin sat down on the chair across from the couch. Chan wasnât one to look so angry, sure he got stressed a lot. But was very rarely angry. Jeongin looked over to him, giving him the most apologetic look. Individually they all noticed Seungmin acting a little strange, but didnât put two and two together, not until Jisung mentioned seeing what looked like a hickey on Seungmin and then it hit them all like a wrecking ball. Everything made sense.Â
âBefore you even start lying again. Iâll save you the troubleâ He crossed his arms over his chest. âWe know youâve been sneaking out, and we know you havenât been going to your parents place. And for what? A girl?â Chan sighed heavily.
âSheâs not just a girlâŚâ you were everything to him, he was sure that at this point he was in love with you. That for the first time in his life he felt a romantic love for someone and it was reciprocated.Â
âAnd what if sheâs not? Did you stop to think what would happen? If Manager-Hyung caught you? Or Dispatch? Or worst if Stayâs caught you? What do you think would happen? Are you willing to quit and leave us...?â The pain and Chanâs eyes as his voice broke toward the end. âWhat about us..?â
Changbin sighed looking at Seungmin. âIf you get caught weâre all screwed⌠Weâre still under a dating ban Seungmin...JYP will fire youâŚAnd if we caught you than someone else couldâ
âWeâd lose everything...â Hyunjin whispered.Â
âWhat about your little girlfriend huh? What makes you think she wonât sell the story to dispatch herself? Or that sheâs not posting this story somewhere?â Minho scoffed, angry that they were even having this conversation.Â
âShe wouldnâtâŚâ
âAnd how could you be so sure huh?! Why are you willing to trust her and risk all of our hard work? Itâs selfish!â
âMinho-Hyung calm downâ Felix frowned, seeing Minho stand up hastily, kicking a chair.Â
âCalm down? How can I calm down when weâre supposed to be working hard for a comeback? Weâre still picking up the pieces from losing someone and then HE goes and does something like this?! How am I supposed to calm down?! Chan literally doesnât sleep so he can finish our songs, or what about the countless nights weâre working on choreo? Weâre trying to make the best comeback for Stays and heâs gonna throw it all away?!â
Seeing that Minho looked just short of swinging on Seungmin, Changbin stood in front of him.Â
Chanâs whole team was falling a part right in front of his eyes. He had to reach Seungmin somehow, and get this resolved before the company found out.
âSeungmin I know you like her...and from what we could put together youâve been doing this for at least a monthâŚâ Chan looked down. âBut we canât afford a scandal...weâre still getting our foot in the door...If she goes public with you dating then itâs over. Our career is over. Our families are affected and I know you trust her but I donât, not with you guys. Iâm not willing to risk my team anymoreâŚâÂ
âShe doesnât know Iâm an idol.â he whispered, the shame heavy in his voice from hiding something so major.
âShe doesnât know youâre-â Chan stopped himself, taking a deep breath and rubbing his temples. âYouâre willing to risk all of our careers for someone who doesnât even know who you really ar-â
âThatâs great!â Jisung looked at Seungmin with bright pleading eyes. This whole time heâs been quiet. Honestly the confrontation kind of scared him. But this was the silver lining to this nightmare. Everyone looked at Jisung like heâd absolutely lost it. âHear me out...If you break up with her...then thatâs it right? You donât have to keep doing this and she wonât go public...Itâs the only wayâŚâ
This whole thing was tearing Seungmin apart. The guilt that he felt with every lie he told came crashing at him. The look all of his Hyungâs gave him. The look of heartbreak and disappointment. But the thing that finally made his tears fall was breaking up with you, because he knew that was the only future left. âI canât hurt herâŚâ
Chan shook his head. âI have to protect my team Seungmin...and if you choose to break your contract, risk us all. Then youâre not part of my team anymore...and iâm gonna need you to step downâŚâ Chan sniffled looking up at him with desperation. âThe choice is yours...but...you need to make itâ
âHyung...please donât leave usâŚâ Jeongin begged, his eyes glazed over as he pulled Seungmin into a tight hug. âDonât leave us tooâŚâ
Seungmin stood stunned, Looking at Jeongin, his heart broke. They were right, he was being selfish. And his team had lost enough. They were only in the beginning of their career and he owed it to his team and to his fans to be dedicated. Dating bans werenât forever so for now he just needed to focus on his career. âI wonât leave you guys...not everâŚâ he hugged him back tightly to reassure him. Felix, Jisung and Hyunjin immediately joining in the hug. Changbin released a relieved sigh before hugging them.Â
Chan wrapped his arms around his family before looking back at Minho âGet in here.â Minho hesitantly joined them, apologizing into Seungminâs hair.
You huddled against the awning of the cafe as the rain poured heavily, it was practically monsoon season in the blink of an eye. You didnât want to go inside on the chance that Seungmin was close by, but he was an hour late and wasnât answering your calls or texts. You could help but worry, afraid that something had happened to him. You felt so helpless. You didnât even know where he lived.Â
It finally hit you that there wasnât a single person in his life that you could get in contact with to check on him. Heâd mentioned his friends and roommates often but you never met any, he didnât believe in social media so it wasnât like you could search there. Just as you were about to say fuck it, and just walk down the road to blindly look for him you got a phone call.
The worry left your body as soon as you answered and heard his voice. âSeungmin! There you are, are you ok? Did something happen?â
He took a breath, trying not to cry hearing your voice. âIâm sorry...But I canât see you anymoreâ
âWhat?â you looked at your caller Id, just to make sure this wasnât some sort of prank. âWhat do you mean?â
âIâm breaking up with youâ
âWhy? Why are you? Why-â your voice broke as your tears fell. âWhat did I do wrong?â you sniffled. âSeungmin please just come...where are you? letâs at least do this in personâŚâ
âThereâs no needâŚâ he took a deep breath. âI just donât waste our time anymore. Iâm tired of lying and I just canât be what you want me to beâŚPlease donât try and contact me againâ It was better this way. He had to convince himself that it was better if you just hated him. Because if it was hate then you could move on. Find a better love.Â
You sobbed gripping your phone. âPlease donât do this...Seungmin I love youâŚâ
âAnd I donât...so letâs just stop this now⌠Have a good life...Iâm going to be blocking you now so please donât try and contact me again.â Before you could say anything else the line went dead.Â
Really, I loved you
Thatâs how much harder it is
I want to hate you
But I canât so I hate you even more
You tried calling him back, so desperately, but each and every time it would just go straight to voicemail. You fell to your knees, not caring if it got wet from the on coming rain, you just couldnât believe it. What happened? It was all so sudden. And what did he mean? You never expected him to anything he wasnât so why? You cried into your hands wondering, Which part of me just wasnât enough?Â
And that night you cried it out. With every fiber of your being you allowed yourself to be heart broken and sad. Calling over your best friend to vent. Because tomorrow you knew youâd have to pick up the pieces and try to continue with your life.Â
Your best friend Minseo smoothed down your hair frowning. Sheâd never seen you so broken before and she wanted nothing more than to tell off your ex for breaking your heart. âAre you gonna be ok?â
âIf he wanted to break up...I understand...Thatâs fine...but...it just hurt that I donât really understand whyâŚâ you sniffled. âI donât think Iâll ever know and that really hurtsâŚâ At least if you knew what happened you could grow from it, learn from it, but instead you were left wondering.Â
Minseo scoffed. âOk, no offense Iâm sure the guy was nice but you dated him for like a month and never let me meet him.â
âHe was just shyâŚâÂ
âOk but he never let you go to his place either, youâre not shy so what does it matter if you met his roommates.â she crossed her arms. âThe guy just sounds so sketchy, and that whole no sns thing? Seriously? You didnât think that was weird?â
âI mean I did...But some people just donât like sns.â
âThey still make them even if they donât use it.â she rubbed your back. âThe guy was probably a two timer and got caught, didnât you only see him at really weird hours too?â
âDid you always think that? He works and goes to school⌠it makes sense that heâs busy, even I got busyâŚâ
âWhere did he work?â
Your frown deepened âI...I donât knowâ your time together was always so sparse you never wanted to drill him with questions, especially when you could tell that he looked uncomfortable when you brought it up. You always just figured heâd tell you eventually.Â
I'd been holding on to you for so long
Now I must let you go
There's nothing I can do for you
It's the only way to make you happy
So I let go, let go, let go
So you can smile someday
So you can be happy
You took it one day at a time. Each one easier than the last. School started to get busier with exams and studying made for the perfect distractions. Minseo was always hesitant to leave you alone, so in your moments together you could tell that she was working over time to distract you from sadness.Â
But you were ok. Not great-but ok.Â
Soon enough a few months had passed, and Seungminâs impression in your life almost felt like a fever dream. He was closer to a snowflake that had melted after the night. His presence fleeting, if you blinked you missed it. You hadnât met his friends, he hadnât met yours. The only photo you had together was a candid one you snuck at your apartment when he was playing your guitar and singing. Every so often youâd look at it just to remind yourself that he was real.
It still hurt like hell, not knowing. But despite everything you wished him well.Â
Minseo pulled you through the busy streets of Gangnam to get some shopping done, retail therapy was her coping mechanism. âWanna go to the record store? Didnât Day6 just have a comeback?â
You smiled âThat is the best idea youâve had all day~â you chimed dragging her inside.Â
âHey Iâm full of good ideas, you just donât listenâ she laughed.Â
You grabbed an album from the front display, before following Minseo toward the back of the store to do some shopping of her own. On your way to the back, another display caught your eye. Normally you walked right by all of the idol stuff, but there was something on the screen that called to you. Your eyes widened as you stood in almost a trance-like state looking at it. You only saw him for a second so you waited and waited to see if you were just losing it.Â
Minseo laughed seeing you watching the music video âOh ho ho ho, look who fell to the dark side, I told you idols were mesmerizing, theyâre pretty huh?â but her smile faltered seeing your eyes widened, she called your name again waving her hand in front of your face. âYou ok?â
There he was again that fluffy hair, those soft twinkling eyes, and that gorgeous honey voice. âSeungmin...âÂ
âWhat?â Minseoâs eyes widened seeing how sad you suddenly look. âYour Seungmin? Is Seungmin of Stray Kids?â
âOf what?â you looked at her, your eyes glazed over.Â
She walked over to the posters, flipping through the alphabetical catalog before turning it toward you. âHim?â
You set the Day6 album down before shaking your head in disbelief. âI...i need to goâŚâ you stepped back, hurrying out of the store.Â
âWait!â Minseo followed after you, grabbing your hand. âDonât run and talk to me please.â
You turned to her, tears running down your face. âHe lied to meâŚâ you ran your hand through your hair. âThatâs why he wouldnât let me meet his friends or tell me where he worked or-Ugh!â
âHey...How about we go to Dispatch?â Minseo chimed, holding your shoulders.
âWhat?â you furrowed your brows âThe gossip magazine?â
âTheyâd probably pay pretty well for a story, I mean Stray Kids is in JYP-â
âNo. Oh my god, Noâ you sighed. âI donât want to hurt him. I just want to forget about this whole thing to be honest.â you hugged yourself. âI met an amazing guy, fell for him and then he dumped me, and now I found out that heâs probably lied about every single thing heâs told me. I just want to be done with thisâ
âBut you hate idols-â
âAnd I donât hate idols. I'm just not a fanâŚâ you stopped yourself remembering that time in your apartment that Seungmin had brought up idols, and any other time heâd mentioned them and just dropped the conversation. You always thought that he was trying to come out as some fanboy but he never did. âIâm so stupidâŚâ
âIâm sorry...I didnât mean to make you upsetâŚâ She frowned. âI was just trying to look out for you.âÂ
âAnd I appreciate it...But despite everything I did love him...Lies and all...Iâd never want to hurt him.â
âBut he hurt youâŚâ
âPlease...Can we drop thisâŚ?â
âFine...As your best friend, I shall drop thisâ she smiled. âBut in return, you have to buy me ice creamâ she wrapped her arm around your shoulder, leading you to the ice cream parlor.Â
âI get lied to and dumped but I have to buy you ice cream?â you laughed following along.
âSucks huh? Well, I wasnât the one who dated a hot idol, so ice cream is the least you can do to pay me for dealing with your dramaâ she grinned.Â
And as quickly as the seasons changed you finished your degree and graduated from your university. Over the past year, you had a lot of time to self reflect, often thinking back to your love. Admittedly you were pretty judgmental back then, and although you wouldnât say youâve become a fan of idols, you acknowledged their hard work. Occasionally youâd find yourself catching a Stray kids comeback or even adding a few of their songs to your playlist just to hear that beautiful voice that reminded you of a simpler time.
On this particular night, you and a few friends set up your instruments in downtown Hongdae for some Saturday night busking. Although you werenât officially a band you all enjoyed playing together even if it was only a hobby.Â
Minseo sat across from you with her camera ready. âGo best friend!â she cheered.Â
You guys ran through a few songs, getting the crowd excited, loving just seeing the smiles on everyone's faces. But toward the end of your set you shifted gears a calmer song. You expected the crowd to disperse, knowing you were singing this song more so for yourself than anyone else. Your tone, heavy as you sang the heartbreaking lyrics.Â
Really, I loved you
Thatâs how much harder it is
I want to hate you
But I canât so I hate you even more
To be honest
No matter how much I try
To erase you
I know I canât, yeah
Your little tip jar filling as the song carried on. You strummed your guitar harder as you got to the bridge. Tears threaten to spill, but you just carried on. The crowd only got bigger as people recorded your performance.Â
Jeongin and Seungmin went down to Hongdae for dinner and to do some shopping when a familiar tune caught their attention. Jeongin smiled brightly âHyung, someone singing Day6â he cheered, pushing him toward the crowd.Â
Rather it was fate, serendipity, or just plain luck that Seungmin saw you. You were no longer just a girl with an acoustic guitar, singing in front of a venue. Your voice was stronger, more confident, he felt every single word you sang. You smiled singing the sad lyrics as a tear streamed down your beautiful face.Â
 Loved you
Because I want to forget you but I canât
Thatâs why I want to forget you
Jeongin noticed Seungminâs solemn expression. âHyung..?â It was how he was looking at you that just made something click for him. Seungmin had that same expression on his face whenever he looked at your photo.Â
Watching as you finished your set you waived at everyone thanking them. You wiped your tears from your face, embarrassed that the song made you cry. You gave them the biggest and brightest smile, singing was always the most therapeutic thing for you to do, and they gave you that opportunity.Â
As you were about to turn away from them, you caught his gaze. All this time you wondered how youâd react if you ever got to see him again, but you just mirrored his smile. Â
âHyung...Go talk to her.â Jeongin encouraged.Â
âI donât really deserve toâ he smiled to himself. âBut she looks like sheâs doing well.â
âBut youâre notâŚâ
âJeongin...Iâm fineâÂ
Jeongin looked down and sighed. âHyung...Iâm...sorry...We forced you two to break up and you tried to smile and stuff but we knew you resented us for it.â
âYouâre my family, I could never resent you...I was just sad I didnât get to say goodbye properly. But she looks happy, and thatâs all I wanted to know.â
âShe just sang a heartbreak song while crying and you think sheâs fine?â Jeongin sighed âYouâll thank me laterâ he jogged over to you. Â
And that was how you ended up on a walk with Seungmin in Hongdae park. The two of you awkwardly walking in silence for far too long. âIâm sorryâŚâ Seungmin looked over to you, making your steps halt.Â
You fiddled with the wrapper of your finished ice cream cone. âFor what? Dumping me over the phone while I waited for you in the rain? Or lying to me about being an idol?â you turned to him and raised a brow.
âI...EverythingâŚâ his shoulders slumped. âHurting you was the hardest thing Iâve ever had to doâŚâ
âCan I just ask you why?â
He took your hand leading you over to the bench to sit down. âI owe you a lot...But Iâm going to start with an explanationâŚâ He watched you, gathering the courage to continue with his side of the story. âThe night of the Day6 I got permission to go alone, but they told me to keep a low profile. You didnât know who I was and I didnât want to just tell you I was an idol...and you didnât even like them and I...I just wanted to be able to see you again.â
âBut when we started seeing each other you should have told me, I thought you liked me but you couldnât trust me to accept youâ
âI didnât want to ruin it.â he looked down. âWhen I was with you, I just felt so normal...Like if I wasnât an idol this would have been my life...Donât get me wrong, I love being an idol, and I love my team and my fans mean the world to me...But if there was a chance to go back and make the same decisions. Thereâs a small chance that I might have chosen to be a regular kid, a regular student and have a regular lifeâŚâ
âHow small?â you gave him a cheeky grin.
âHonestly like 5%â he chuckled âI really do love being a singer and Iâm 95% sure that I would choose the path that leads to Stray Kids almost every time.â
âBut Iâm the 5%?â you smiled.Â
âYouâre the 5%â he shrugged bashfully. âIâm digging my own grave arenât I?â he laughed nervously.Â
âNo, I appreciate it youâre being honestâ you placed your hand on his, giving it a comforting pat.Â
âThe path of Stray Kids still led me to you, so Iâm sure I would always pick it.â he squeezed your hand. âAnd when we broke upâŚâ
âYou mean when you dumped meâ you teased.Â
âIâm sorry...I really was on my way to go see you. And let's just say my team had a whole intervention. They had to put things in perspective for meâŚâ He looked out across the park seeing a group of kids doing a cover dance and smiled fondly. âI loved every moment I spent with you, but I was under a dating ban, and getting caught could mean risking my group's whole career. And as much as I love you, theyâre my brothers and-â
âYou never told me you loved me.â you whispered, a smile tugging at your lips.
âOf course I love you...Iâm sorry you didnât know that...:â he brought your hand to his lips, gently placing a kiss.Â
âSo what happens now?â you eyed him.Â
âWell...My dating ban was liftedâŚâ he inched closer to you. âAnd I havenât stopped thinking about youâ
You grinned âBold of you to assume that Iâm singleâ Seeing the look on his face was priceless, he let go of your hand and panicked.
Of course, you wouldnât be single, you were charming, bright and beautiful. âI-â he stuttered up until he saw you break out into a laugh, holding your stomach and throwing your head back. âIâm kiddingâ your smile could brighten a room.Â
âLetâs start overâ he stood up and reached out to you âHi Iâm Seungmin, Iâm an idol and my favorite band is Day6â
You took his hand in yours introducing yourself. âI just graduated, I like singing and Day6 is also my favorite bandâÂ
âDo you want to grab dinner with me?â
âIâd love toâ he pulled you up, wrapping his arms around your waist. âI know we technically just started over butâŚâ you stopped just taking him in again. You didnât think it was possible but he really managed to become more handsome. You stared into his deep brown eyes before your gaze dropped to his lips again. His tongue darted out for a moment before retreating back to his mouth.Â
He smiled leaning him pressing his forehead against yours. âBut what?â he smiled and pursed his lips playfully.Â
âStop~â you whined, laughing into him, pressing your hand against his chest. âJust kiss me alreadyâ
His cheeks began to hurt from smiling so hard. He cupped your cheek, pulling you into the kiss. Your small hands gripped the front of his sweater, tugging him closer. His hands spanned over your cheek keeping you close. His kiss almost becoming desperate to make up for all the lost moments. He missed the softness of your skin, the faintest taste of mint on your lips, how you had to tiptoe to reach his lips, how you held him so tight. He missed all of it. He pulled away, peppering small kisses against your lips, his lashes fanning over your cheek.Â
You looked up at him, with the warmest and most loving eyes heâd ever seen. You were breathtaking. âIâm never going to let you go againâŚâ he whispered, caressing your cheek.Â
End.

Hey, would you be open to IronAgent (Phil x Tony)? If yes, from the angst list (because /of course/ I look there first lol) 19: "Why did you wait until I moved on?" If you feel like it. Thanks! <3
never done this one before, but i like it!Â
Tony isnât used to heartbreak. Heâs kind of an asshole like that. Or maybe he is used to heartbreak, but heâs not quite used to people admitting that they donât like him like that.Â
Phil Coulson was someone he met while at an orchestra with Pepper and showing up late and getting the wrong seat and falling asleep.Â
He was the one who jabbed him awake and explained why the orchestra was so important, and Tony saw how much he could appreciate it, and he wanted more of it.Â
So he asked. Phil said yes. And their first date was to a diner where Tony had to give Phil, like, eight quarters for the jukebox.Â
He was different from anyone Tony usually saw. Different as in decent, different as in he wore a white button-up shirt nearly every single day, and Tony liked it, but he liked it more when it was a bit wrinkled and Phil broke down and unbuttoned the top two.Â
They dated for eleven months and thirty days. They broke up in July.Â
In retrospect, Tony can see why. Phil was always interested in specialized security and was one of the best people to stay calm under stress. (Tony joked that it was because of him.)Â
Phil calls him in July. Tony is in Malibu, and Phil lives in Chicago, and he wonât allow Tony to pay for a plane or train ticket.Â
Now he knows why.Â
The phone call is short, mainly because Tony knows that heâs bursting with questions and Phil wonât answer them, because itâs considered rude to ask someone why they donât want to choose you anymore.Â
Tony says okay. He says okay on the phone, which sucks, and itâs...
He calls Rhodey next.Â
âYou okay?âÂ
âProbably. Maybe.âÂ
âYouâll be fine,â Rhodey says, in that tone of voice that Tony usually always trusts, but this time itâs different because Rhodey isnât with him right now, heâs with his cousin in Florida trying to learn how to handle different beach-themed cocktails. Call it scientific research.Â
âListen,â Rhodey says, âI gotta go. Benâs taking me to dinner, but call me when you need me, okay?âÂ
âGot it.âÂ
Heâs not going to do that.Â
-Â
Phil joined SHIELD. You canât have personal connections, not really.Â
And Tony was as personal as they got, but he was also beneficial. Phil knows that if SHIELD ever caught wind of Tony being his, there would be talk. Talk about âwhy donât you convince your boyfriend to get us weapons?âÂ
âWhy donât you bring Tony Stark over? Let us in on some secrets?âÂ
He canât do that to him.Â
And relationships...
Best not to think about it.Â
-Â
It takes longer than thought possible for Tony to get over Phil. In many respects, he might not be.Â
But he goes out the next week and makes headlines dancing with all sorts of people and socializing and proving that he can move on. He will move on. Heâs already moved on.Â
He bitterly hopes that Phil can see it.Â
(Phillip Coulson is busy fighting bad guys in a grocery store, but as he dodges a can of peaches being thrown at his head, he sees an overturned magazine rack. And there Tony is, smiling at a girl and-)Â
-Â
Tony keeps tabs on him, sometimes. He doesnât often pop up. Tony doesnât really look into security, because he knows that if he finds out where Phil is, what Phil is doing, itâs all heâs going to think about. And he canât keep him safe, he canât keep him protected.Â
So he focuses on weapons and business and making sure that Pepper isnât too pissed off, because itâs like Pompeii 2.0 if that happens.Â
-
Coulson is in the office when the break-room TV is turned on and the news is up, and agents are crowding around.Â
âBack to work, everyone,â he says, but he stops when he sees the headline.Â
Tony Stark Declared Missing after Weapons Demonstration Gone AwryÂ
He canât breathe. He feels everything slam down, and he canât let anyone know itâs all coming down over his head, so he turns off the news.Â
âGet focused,â he says. âI know at least one of you is supposed to be talking to our agents stationed in Liberia about a potential 084. Get it done.âÂ
He goes into his office and stares at a framed picture of a Ferris wheel.Â
Just below that, folded up, is Tony kissing his cheek while he laughs.Â
And it might be done.Â
He wishes it wasnât done, he wishes that he had never broken up with him. Heâs always wished that, every single time he comes into his apartment and Tonyâs plans for decorating their apartment when they both came back to Boston (Phil never did) were the talk of the night for many a night.Â
He canât request any special information. He canât risk it, doesnât want to risk it.Â
Maria still catches him, because sheâs Maria. She knows everything.Â
âYou got personal history with him,â she says over a mutual dinner. She invited him to her house. She didnât seem like a house person, but then again she also has coasters with embroidered flower bouquets on them, so thereâs that.Â
âIâm not going to tell you anything about it.âÂ
âWasnât expecting you to. Just wanted to let you know that I know.âÂ
âAnd how would you know?âÂ
Maria smiles, biting into the pizza that she has ordered and Phil hasnât touched, but still paid half for.Â
âBecause Iâm smart and observant, Coulson.âÂ
âYou can call me Phil, you know.âÂ
âNope, rather not. But if youâre not discussing it, then it must have been romantic. Iâm surprised you guys dated. For long, if Iâm right.âÂ
âUnder a year,â he says.Â
âAnd youâre still this affected?âÂ
âI broke up with him,â Phil says. âYou know why.âÂ
âYouâre the dumbest ever,â Maria says. âYou were dating the son of one of the best-known men of all time, and you think that you were putting his life in danger?âÂ
âWhen you put it like that, it makes me sound stupid.âÂ
âYouâre not,â Maria says. âYouâre smart. But Tony Stark isnât exactly a saint. He knows how to fight dirty.âÂ
-Â
Tony Stark just flew out of a cave and his first thought is the fact that he really wants a nice burger, and the second thought is that heâs wondered if heâs just invented something revolutionary.Â
Itâs about two weeks after everything and heâs still finding trouble with his standard mattress that he gets a visit.Â
Strategic-Homeland-Whatever.Â
They call themselves a private security firm. Tony knows better, has seen better liars.Â
But Agent Barton is insistent that security is all they do, and they want to make sure that Tony Stark isnât a danger to himself.Â
(What he really means, most likely, is that SHIELD has caught on to the little fact that his flight suit exists.)Â
-
Phil met Obadiah Stane exactly once, and exactly once is the only meeting you really need with a man who is the physical embodiment of an oil spill.Â
Barton calls him, says that he needs to get there now, the mission is going wrong. Coulsonâs his handler, and as much as heâd like to send Maria or Natasha or literally anybody else, he is worried.Â
He finds Dum-E waving frantically, with Tony hunched over a counter and breathing hard, a blue light emanating from his chest.Â
âTony?âÂ
He turns around wildly, freezing as he looks at Phil.Â
âI donât have time to deal with you,â he pants out, breath ragged. âMove out of my way, and stay out of my way.âÂ
-Â
Phil witnesses Tony in his element. Heâs always flown above the rest, but never quite so literally.Â
Pepper clutches Tonyâs hand and he holds her close, and oh.Â
Oh.Â
Phil knows he shouldnât have expected anything. He knows that itâs been years and years since they were dating, since they were each otherâs everything and a half.Â
But it still kind of hurts when youâre not a choice.Â
They turn to look at Coulson.Â
âI assume that Clint is yours?â Tony asks.Â
âOne of them, yes.âÂ
âHe needs to get better about lying, he clearly ate my leftover sandwich.âÂ
âIâll...talk to him about that. Everyone okay here?âÂ
âFor now. Need to tie up some loose ends.âÂ
âI can help with that.âÂ
âI donât need it,â Tony says, and Pepper follows his gaze carefully before speaking.Â
âWe would love the help,â she says, and Phil can tell that she doesnât know.Â
Somehow-and Philâs not quite sure how-that burns. Tony didnât tell her about them. Itâs egotistical of him, sure, but he kind of wants to be known as a part in Tonyâs life.Â
SHIELD gets involved. They clean up Stane like he was never there, and thereâs a press release about him having a heart attack in his sleep that is clearly not the case, but there are enough pictures of him eating unhealthily that it can kind of make sense when people look at some shitty news source.Â
Phil makes flashcards.Â
Reminds him of studying days, when he used to quiz Tony on Captain America trivia.Â
He stumped him, once.Â
-Â
Tony doesnât like that Philâs back in his life. He doesnât have to like it.Â
But really, it just...
They used to be together. And they didnât end because it got bad, they ended because Phil had a job and he didnât want to be a couple because that would somehow ruin things. And Tony got it, really. The board wasnât exactly pleased that Tony wasnât hush-hush about his activities.Â
âWhatâs gonna happen, theyâre gonna sue me? Ask me to stop?â Tony had asked, laughing. âI donât give a shit what people think. They rely on me too much to afford to have an opinion cloud their judgment.âÂ
Phil isnât like that.Â
They danced together. He still remembers Philâs order for food.Â
(Lo Mein with veggies, but he would never eat all of the veggies that were in there. Plus egg rolls.)Â
-
âIf you just read the flash cards, you should be fine,â Phil says. âTrust me.âÂ
âYou waited to tell me that until I moved on or something?â Tony asks sardonically.Â
-Â
Tony listened to Phil twice in his life and trusted him.Â
The first was six months in, when he said âI love youâ while they were lounging on the worst couch that Tony had ever sat in, in an apartment with a leak during rainy days.Â
The second was when Phil told him to live his life to his full potential on a short phone call.Â
Fool me once, fool me twice, and never again.Â
âThe truth is...I am Iron Man.âÂ

Do You Want Me Now - Chapter 25: Beach Week, Part One
Find it on AO3
Many, many thanks to @laughingatlivedragons for her help with this chapter - Geralt's past vacations couldn't have happened without you, my love!
âHey Geralt,â Jaskier called from the living room, âAre you a beach person?â
She heard him hum as he came out of the upstairs bathroom. Sheâd heard the shower shut off, and was waiting for him at the foot of the stairs.
âThis isnât a show, Jask,â Geralt growled (without any real heat in it) as he walked down the stairs, shirtless, toweling off his hair. âMaybe I should start selling tickets,â he rolled his eyes as he said it, but he was secretly delighted. Anytime Jaskier was home and able to catch him showering, sheâd wait for him to come out, just to see him without a shirt on. (She usually waited downstairs in the living room, or the kitchen; she didnât just hover outside of the bathroom.) She never said anything; just looked at him â and it was always the same look. She looked at him like he was the most beautiful thing she had ever seen. No one had ever looked at Geralt like that before; not even when he was married.
âI mean, I do pay rent; is this not an amenity thatâs included?â Larkin laughed, but then turned serious. âGeralt, for real though, if Iâm making you uncomfortable, say the word, and it wonât happen again.â
âItâs fine,â he said while rolling his eyes, fondly. âI just â I figured the novelty would have worn off after six plus months, yâknow?â
âNOPE! The effect of your physical beauty is just too compelling; I am powerless to resist.â Jask threw her hand over her forehead dramatically, leaning back.
âSo, before we got sidetracked with your weird fascination with me,â the teasing note in Geraltâs voice made Larkin beam. âWhatâd you ask me?â he ended by throwing his towel over her head, enjoying the squawk and sputtering noises coming from under the towel. It had taken him a while to get used to the fact that Larkin justâŚrolled with stuff like that. He watched her pull the towel off her head, then point upstairs, then downstairs, asking him if he wanted it back in the bathroom, or down in the laundry. Geralt pointed upstairs; heâd just gotten it out. She took the stairs two at a time, and presumably hung it up on his hook in the bathroom.
Huh, he thought. Geralt wasnât sure what he was expecting when he draped her in his towel, but return towel service was not it.
Larkin noticed the bewildered look on his face when she came back downstairs. ââTis but a small price to pay, for the simple joy of letting me ogle you,â
âYouâre weird,â he told her. Because she was. But he really liked it.
âYep!â Larkin walked over to the couch and sat down, pulling out her phone. âOh, so. Do you like the beach? Are you a beach person?â
Geralt felt like this was a trick question. âWhy?â he asked, suspicious.
âWhy do I get the feeling you think Iâm going to try to do something mean, Geralt? Relax, sir. A friend of mine just said I could use her beach house for the summer, thatâs all. I wanted to know if you wanted to go sometime.â
This has to be a trick, he thought. Who just doesnâtuse a beach house during the summer?
âWhy isnât she gonna use it?â
âSheâs going on tour, she wonât be around. Shame, too, sheâs a lot of fun.â
âWho is it?â Geralt asked, still skeptical.
âTaylor Swift,â Larkin said, like it was NBD.
Fucking WHAT.
*****
[White Wolf 6:30 PM]: Taylor Swift is lending Jask her beach house for the summer and wanted to know if I wanted to go with her.
[Eskel 6:30 PM]: Wait a minute. Taylor Swift wanted to know if you wanted to go with Jask, or Jask wanted to know if you wanted to go with Jask?
[White Wolf 6:31 PM]: Jask wanted to know if I wanted to go.
[Lambert 6:32 PM]: WAIT BACKUP. TAYLOR SWIFT? This is a joke, right?
[White Wolf 6:33 PM]: No joke, I made Jask show me the texts. Jask has a bunch of photos of the two of them together, apparently Jask stayed there for like a month last summer, before we met.
[Lambert 6:34 PM]: OH MY GOD, SHE DID. She said she was staying at a friendâs! She never said it was fucking Taylor Swift!
[White Wolf 6:34 PM]: Question still stands.
[Lambert 6:35 PM]: What was the question? Is there a question? Youâre going, right? Is that the question? Do you not want to go? Why wouldnât you go?
[Eskel 6:35 PM]: Seriously, Geralt â why wouldnât you go?
[White Wolf 6:36 PM]: Whatâre we gonna do?
[Eskel 6:36 PM]: What do you do here?
[White Wolf 6:37 PM]: Nothing. Hangout. Go running. Cook. Watch movies.
[Lambert 6:38 PM]: I still canât see you being âchillâ, she is a literal miracle worker. Anyhoo. Do all that. At the BEACH.
[Eskel 6:39 PM]: Yes. Please go. Jas is asking you to go on a vacation, Ger. When was the last time you went on a vacation?
[White Wolf 6:40 PM]: Yen.
[Lambert 6:40 PM]: DEAR GOD PLEASE GO. I guarantee that Jas does vacations VERY differently. There wonât be an agenda every day. I promise.
*****
Geraltâs last vacation had beenâŚintense. He and Yennefer had gone to Amsterdam for two weeks and to Geralt it had beenâŚa LOT. Cities werenât necessarily his favorite place in general, but throw in almost a million inhabitants, drugs and hookers EVERYWHERE, the waterworks, a literal shitton of bicycles and the mix of posh and historic â there was NOTHIING relaxing about that vacation.
It wasnât a vacation, it was a trip. Lambert wasnât exaggerating â Yen had actually come up with a written agenda every day, thinking it would appeal to the control freak in Geralt.
It did not. It actually made Geralt even more anxious, because it made him feel like there was a scheduled timetable they had to keep. And when Yen would dawdle, and throw off the timing of the agenda-
You can see how this did not appeal to Geralt AT ALL.
In general, his marriage to Yennefer had been intense on a level that was unsustainable for them both (hence the divorce) and he knew, he knew Jaskier was nothing like Yen, and would therefore probably vacation very differently.
But he was still kind of freaking out about it.
*****
Larkin could tell something was bothering her beloved Wolf. Sheâd asked him about going to the beach, and heâd justâŚavoided the question. ThatâŚwas not Geraltâs style, AT ALL. Sheâd mentioned it to Lauren, her therapist, and Lauren had suggested that perhaps Geralt had had a bad vacation experience, once upon a time.
Larkin hadnât thought of that.
Armed with this potential realization, Larkin attempted to bring it up once more.
âGeralt, would it be ok if I talked to you about maybe going to the beach again?â She asked one night as they were clearing dinner dishes. She watched his shoulders tense up.
Oh boy, she thought.
âSure,â Geralt said, sounding utterly defeated.
Ok, WHAT THE FUCK, thought Larkin. Who hurt my Wolf with a VACATION?
âGeralt,â she started, watching him load the dishwasher, back to her, obviously uncomfortable. âYou know you donât have to do anything you donât want to. I canât make you go. You wonât hurt my feelings if you say no.â
Geralt turned to face her, over the open dishwasher trays. âNo, itâs not â thatâs not-â he took a breath. âWhy me?â
Larkin was puzzled. âI donât understand the question. Youâre like my favorite person; I love spending time with you. I thought it might be a nice break from the farm, and school? If it being just the two of us makes you uncomfortable, I can invite-â
âWhy would it being just the two of us make me uncomfortable? We live together, just the two of us.â
âOk, so itâs not me thatâs the problem.â Larkin was glad to get that sorted out; sheâd worried sheâd freaked him out by asking him alone.
âOf course youâre not the problem â youâre never a problem, Jask.â Geralt was looking at Larkin like she were speaking moon-man language.
âIs there a problem? Do youâŚnot like vacations?â
âNo, Jas, itâs not-â he sighed. Larkin watched him push a lock of hair out of his eyes. âMy last vacation wasâŚnot fantastic. It was veryâŚstructured. There was a written daily agenda. It was like a two-week long bad day.â
âGeralt, I donât mean to be smart, but are you sure that was a vacation? That sounds like an extra circle of hell, to me.â
âIt was.â
âOk. So, knowing that, that isnât really what I had in mind? I mean, if thereâs stuff we want to do, we can talk about it before hand, and I donât really think weâd need to write it down, but if you wanted to, I guess we could? Like, Iâm not sure youâd really need to write down âgo for a runâ or âletâs go fishingâ?
âFishing?â Geraltâs ears perked up at that.
âYeah, thereâs a bunch of fun stuff we could do, if you want. Thereâs hiking trails, fishing, I think Taylorâs leaving me her boat, so thereâs that-â
âA BOAT?â
Geralt was fully invested now. He left the dishwasher wide open and came to sit next to Jaskier on a barstool at the kitchen island.
âI mean, she is Taylor Swift. Itâs a pretty sweet boat.â
âYou know how to use it?â
âYes, Geralt. Former Viscountess, remember? I got that angle covered,â Larkin said, smiling. âIf you want, Iâll send you the address, and the website for the town. You can see all the stuff they have going on, itâs a really nice place â both the house and the town.â
âItâs not a city?â
âOh, Lord, no. This place is the definition of laid-back small town. Lemme ask you this â what are your concerns, other than an agenda driven nightmare of anti-relaxation?â
Geralt snorted. That was exactly what he was worried about. âLotta people, crowds, feeling cornered.â
âOk. Can you give me one second to get my laptop? I have some photos I think might help.â
Larkin waited for Geralt to nod, and she hopped up and grabbed her laptop from the living room. She flipped it into tablet mode, and opened a photo album titled âTaylor â Beach â 1st yearâ.
âOk, so, this is going to seem silly, but she sent me a video tour of her house, because I was nervous before going the first time.â
âHow many times have you been there?â Geralt asked, sounding insanely curious.
âLast year was my third year. She hasnât really changed much with the house since she took this video.â
Larkin pressed play, and the video showed Taylor, in all her blonde âgirl-next-doorâ glory, starting outside a really nice-looking tan-clapboard-sided ridiculously big beach house, that looked like it was in the middle of fucking nowhere. She walked around the paved drive, showing the marshland across the road from the house, then walked up to the house, up the big front entry stairway, into a foyer the size of their living room. She continued the tour through what seemed like five separate living rooms, a massively well-equipped kitchen, several different dining areas, the 97 bedrooms, the outdoor living areas on the deck outside, and then the little walkway out to the private beach. Taylor did a 360-degree spin on the beach. There were no neighbors.
All in all, the video was thirty minutes long. There was a lot of goofy, silly good-friend stuff throughout; Taylor made up songs about the different rooms, she essentially sang the tour to Jaskier. She ended it by saying âI love you; I canât wait to see you. Weâll have fun. I promise.â
Geralt looked at Larkin with a look she couldnât translate. âDid you guysâŚdate?â
âHuh? Oh, that. No. I met her shortly after the fallout of the Countess bullshit. I wasâŚnot okay. She was really kind, and a really good friend. Sheâs still a really good friend. No, we didnât date.â Larkin smiled at the fond memories the video brought back. It had been a really shitty time, and Taylor, and that beach house made everything a lot less shitty.
âWhat did you guys do?â
âWe sang a lot, we laid on the beach, we took walks, we ate â boy, did we eat, I tell you what that girl can EAT, Geralt; you wouldnât think it to look at her but GOODNESS. It was great.â
âWhy was it great?â
âIt was just nice to be able to see her being herself, like, instead of the person society says she is; she wanted to eat, so she did. I did a lot of cooking while I was with her, it was fantastic. We went to the boardwalk a couple times, but we had to kind of lay low, because sheâs a BIG DEAL. She has an aunt in town, Aunt Karen, so mostly the townsfolk are real chill about her being there, but sometimes the tourists are the WORST. We went out on the boat, we went fishing, and we slept a lot. Sometimes on the boat, sometimes on the beach. We got really tan.â
âThat house has a lot of bedrooms,â
âDoesnât it? To this day I havenât slept in them all; itâs my mission in life to do that. I feel like the house keeps gaining extra bedrooms, so itâs always one step ahead of me.â Larkin turned to Geralt. âSo, thatâs kind of the extent of the excitement. Itâs definitelynot crowded, unless you bring people with you. Thereâs a soundproof music room, so thatâs cool. I think youâll like that feature,â Larkin said with a smile.
âHey!â Geralt said, sounding somewhat offended. âThat was like, one time. Ok, maybe more than one time. But not a lot of times!â
âIâm kidding, big guy. You have been so gracious about my constant noise making, really. I tease.â Larkin considered the man next to her. âYou know, you still havenât answered my original question â do you even like going to the beach?â
âThe way you describe âbeach timeâ is not the way Iâve experienced beach time in the past. Your way sounds much more enjoyable.â
âDid you have agendas for beach time, too?â Larkin was horrified someone would desecrate beach time that way.
âKind of. It wasnât relaxing, letâs say.â
âWow. So, itâs like this. You wake up in the morning and want to go hiking? We do that. I wake up and want to lie on the beach for a while, and you donât? I lie on the beach and you do whatever you want to do. We want to do something together? We figure it out, and do it. If there is a specific something happening on a specific day, that we want to hit? We work it in. Thereâs like, sightseeing we could do, but itâs not like âgoing to the oldest European city EVER and needing to see every piece of every shard of something someone really old carried from one place to anotherâ kind of sightseeing. There are a couple nature preserves in the area, and a lot of really good places for nature photos.â
âThis sounds too good to be true.â
âRight? I am ridiculously lucky to have such a good friend. I wish she wasnât going on tour for so long, I think youâd really like her. Sheâs super goofy, sheâs a lot of fun.â
âWhatâs Renfri think of her?â
âRenfri LOVES HER. She gets heart eyes the entire time Taylor is anywhere in the vicinity. Itâs hysterical.â
âAre theyâŚa thing?â
âIâve never asked, and neither of them has ever said. Taylor deserves privacy. I want them both to be happy. If thatâs with each other, then I know theyâll have a good time.â
âSo wait. You said she gave you this house for the summer â are you going to be there ALL summer?â Geralt asked. Larkin thought he sounded panicky.
âI, uh, hadnât really thought about it. I still plan on paying rent, Geralt, itâs not like Iâm moving out or anything,â
âI wasnât worried about the rent, Lark,â Geralt said, making a face at her.
âThen what are you worried about?â Larkin asked, giving Geralt a concerned look.
âThree months is justâŚa long time,â
Larkin thought that wasnât exactly what Geralt wanted to say. Larkin was pretty sure she heard âIâll miss you,â instead. Now it was her turn to hum.
âWell, I donât think Iâll be there for three months straight, for sure. I do think I want to go before Taylor leaves, so I can see her for a couple days before sheâs gone, and Iâd like to spend some time with you there, and I think I want to get my brother and sister there for a couple days, too; obviously youâre welcome for that, if you want. They love you, theyâd love to see you. Other than that, I donât really have any âmust-doâsâ other than maybe having everyone there at the same time? Do you think Eskel and Lambert would want to come? And Aiden? And maybe Triss?â
Yes, Geralt thought. But do I want them to come, is the question.
âWhat about Renfri?â he said instead, noticing that she hadnât mentioned her best friend.
âOh, obviously Renfri would be invited at some point. But sheâs already gone with me before. Iâll talk to you before I go, Geralt, itâs not like Iâm just gonna up and leave without saying anything,â she paused. âAnd hopefully, youâd be willing to come with me, at least once,â
âLemme think about it. I see my therapist tomorrow, I want to talk to him first. Iâm serious, Larkin, I really will think about it. I do want to go, itâs just â beforetimes.
âBeforetimes.â She nodded, sadly. Larkin knew exactly what he meant.
*****
Geralt was almost able to predict exactly what Frank, his therapist, was going to say.
âSo, letâs break this down. Youâre afraid of two things. Youâre afraid of going on vacation because vacations with Yennefer were not enjoyable for you, and youâre afraid future vacations will also be not enjoyable. But youâre also afraid of Larkin being away for an extended amount of time. Are those both accurate statements?â
âYes.â Geralt wanted to argue about the use of the word âafraidâ but knew it was pointless because he was, in fact, afraid.
âLetâs start with the overall vacation idea, because I think that one might be a little easier to navigate.â
âNot every vacation is going to be like a Yennefer vacation.â
âYouâre getting pretty good at this, maybe we should switch chairs,â Frank said, making Geralt smirk. He really liked his therapist. Heâd been seeing Frank for four years; Frank had taken over when his last therapist had retired. Heâd liked his last therapist, too; heâd gotten pretty lucky that way. Frank was real. He used examples from real life to illustrate and make parallels. He understood PTSD. He understood Geraltâs limits, and didnât push â too hard. He called Geralt on his bullshit, in a gentle and professional way. He was a really good therapist.
âYou said Larkin gave you an idea of what vacationing at this specific location, specifically with her, would be like. Correct?â
âYes.â
âAnd what did she make it sound like?â
âPerfect.â
âOk. Do you trust Larkin?â
âYes.â
âWhy?â
âBecause sheâs honest. Because sheâs down to Earth. Because she cares about me.â
âDo you think anything she said about this beach house, or spending time with her there, is made up, or embellished?â
âNo, I donât.â
âI gotta tell you, Iâm really skeptical that she knows Taylor Swift.â
âIâm telling you, Frank, I saw the video. Taylor Swift made Jas a half an hour video five years ago singing her way through this fucking humongous gorgeous beach house. She used Jaskierâs name several times in the video. She told Jas she loved her at the end of it. There are pictures of the two of them together at this house, and other places. Jas has text messages on her phone from her.â
âWell, those could just be made up,â
âFrank. I know you googled Larkin. Sheâs not making this up. If anything, the HOUSE is made up, but itâs not, because there are pictures of her and Renfri, and Taylor Swift all on the couches and at tables together.â
âYou have a fascinating roommate.â
âYep.â
âBack to the vacation idea. So. How certain are you that Jaskier is telling the truth about the laid-back beach vacation of which she speaks?â
â99.9% certain.â
âAnd the .1%?â
âIt sounds too good to be true.â
âFace it, Geralt, a lot of Jaskier sounds too good to be true, but it isnât, because youâve lived with her now for what, over six months?â
âYep.â
âAnd there are parts of Jaskier that are NOT too good to be true, correct?â Frank asked, giving Geralt A LOOK.
âYes.â
âBut you still like living with her?â
âI do.â
âI think that brings us to our second point.â
âJoy.â
âGeralt. You knew weâd get here eventually. So. You donât like the idea of Jaskier being gone for three months straight. How come?â
âI justâŚdonât want her to be gone that long. Thatâs a long time.â
âOk, Geralt, I feel that it is my place to remind you that youâre safe here, you know that, and itâs ok to have feelings, here and everywhere else. Care to delve in to that last bit a little deeper?â
âIâll miss her.â
âThere you go.â Frank paused. âOk, Iâm going to ask, and I wonât push about this one. Why will you miss her?â
Geralt sighed. Yep, he thought. This is the problem.
âI love her.â
âOh, shit!â Frank exclaimed, his face a mask of surprise. Geralt had never actually seen Frank look really, actually surprised. âI honestly thought that one was gonna take longer.â
Geralt just stared at him.
âOh, come on, Geralt. I am not your brothers; Iâm not going to bust your balls over this but even still. It has been obvious to me for quite a while, and especially since that fucking wedding what the actual fuck is wrong with her family- I apologize. That was inappropriate. Accurate, but inappropriate. Anyway. Itâs been fairly obvious for quite a while that you care about her deeply. Thatâs all Iâm gonna say. You pay me to notice things. So I noticed. Mazel Tov, man. For what itâs worth, from what youâve told me about her, you guys are a very good fit. Youâve both dealt with some really serious shit together in the time youâve known one another, and youâve handled it well, both separately, and together. So, good luck, if you decide to move things in a more romantic direction. In my nonprofessional opinion, I think that will be received very well.â
âOh. Thank you.â Geralt was feeling kind of bewildered, both from admitting OUT LOUD that he loved his roommate in the âYeah, Iâd kind of like to get married to you,â way; but also that his therapist already knew about it, and thought his chances of success were high.

Mr. Jeon pinched the bridge of his nose in aggravation, while letting out a small huff of air as he stared at the trembling man before him. The man fiddled with the stacks of paper at his fingertips, and scanned each and every line hoping to find a solution, but every single one seemed to have a flaw within its codes. The numbers were far too low considering the amount of business ideas the company had sold this year. The man gave a short and almost panicked like cough when he noticed how violently Mr. Jeonâs leg was shaking underneath the table. The back of his heels that were repeatedly tapping away at the tiles were driving the man insane, the sound echoing in his brain like it was telling him to watch out for a dangerous situation is headed your way.
Patience for the problem at hand was growing thin in Jeon, too thin for anyone's liking.
If someone doesn't get these numbers corrected there will be hell to pay. Jeon loved to dish out servings of his sadistic like plans to those who were unfortunate enough to cross those boundaries. He'll make sure they receive whatâs coming to them no matter what. Sweat was beginning to form in beads upon his employeeâs forehead. The sight alone almost made him laugh, since Mr. Jeon knew if he only paid attention a bit more than the problem like this wouldn't have occurred at all.
The mess could have simply been avoid if only he was fucking paying attention for once in his pathetic life. Mr.Jeon's harsh eyes glared burning holes into the poor man temple.
"Rufus, I'm trying to remain professional because I know mistakes happen, but this is utterly ridiculous." He seethed through his teeth. His hands were now clenched before him, his whole demeanor was absolutely furious. You could practically see the smoke shooting out of his ears.
"I'm so sorry! I watched them go over these sets a million times I'm truly, and deeply sorry." Rufus sputtered out, as he frantically shoved his glasses back onto the bridge of nose. The sweat was pooling on his palms, and his pants were almost soaked with how much he's wiped his clammy hands on them. He didn't even give himself a chance to breath when he tried recalculating the numbers by hand.
"Your department better be lucky that these numbers aren't due until tomorrow night." Mr. Jeon spoke calmly. Even though, everything at this moment was completely opposite. He tapped away at the wooden surface of his desk, while Rufus gave a great nod of understanding. "What are you still doing here? Go fix these fucking numbers."
"O-Oh! Right Sir!" Rufus said, gripping tightly at the messed up papers. Not giving a care at this moment as he clenched them all beneath his fist and threw the wrinkled papers into the brown file organizer. A hastily escape was made as he fumbled on his feet to get out of the office completely. His sweaty palms once more giving him trouble as they refused to stay solid against the cold, metal doorknob. Giving it one last tug he yanked the door open swiftly and made his departure, making sure not to look back even as he closed the door.
Rufus could feel the fury clawing around inside of his chest at the thought of that embarrassing moment. The big big boss almost chewed his head off and that's never a good sign. Mr. Jeon will probably now view the department as a failure thus forcing everyone to quit, or he'll simply fire them. Either way the business will find a new management team who could actually keep up with their required task. If he loses his job then he's royal screwed.
"How in the hell did these numbers turn out lower than expected!" Rufus bellowed as he swung open the main door to enter his domain. The frame smacking its self on the nearby wall, gaining everyoneâs attention. His sharp eyes stared down each and every employee in that room. Their eyes were cast downwards refusing to meet the eyes of a main who held nothing, but fire in his being. Rufus's demeanor changed within a snap of his fingers ever since he left the main boss' office. He was made out like a fool, and he was gonna make them feel the exact same way. "I don't have all day."
No one said a single word as he waved around the brown file organizer. Everyone shared confused looks between them all. They were for sure those numbers were calculated correctly. All those numbers were the profits the company has made and the numbers were sky rocketing. What happened? That the question that plagued everyone's mind, but no one had any clue as to what the answer might be.
Rufus's eyes finally landed on you. You pondered on the solutions to this problem. It had to happen fast or a lot of people were gonna be in deep trouble. You eyed the brown organizer that was hanging loosely from his grip. It was like a cartoon lightbulb dinged brightly above you head.
That's it, the brown file organizer is not the right one at all! The folder for this year was in a soft blue color. The wheels on your office chair slung you a bit to the right as you raced towards the drawers that held all the recorded numbers. Skimming through each one as briskly as you could. That organizer was here somewhere, it has to be here. No one, including you, could afford to lose this job.
You let out a sigh of relief as your fingers made contact with the plastic material of the organizer. There in all of its blue glory was your ticket to keeping your job, as well as the others. The drawer made a harsh clank as it was abruptly shut. Your heels clicked rapidly against the tiles as you raced against the clock to deliver the precious organizer.
"What is that?" Rufus sighed, motioning towards the blue plastic that was clutched in your painted fingertips.
"These are the correct numbers, you grabbed last years by mistake." You smiled as you tried to gingerly hand it over. Seeing as he would have to take it back up to Mr. Jeon and get them approved. His face quickly flashed from relief to the sinister. "Rufus what's the matter? Are you okay?"
"I was specifically told all the right papers were in this brown organizer! Why the hell do you have a blue one."
The profanity that left his lips without hesitation didn't affect you as it happened so often. Although he's making it seem like it's your fault that he grabbed the wrong one. You never told him to grab the brown one at all, you didn't even tell him which one it was period. This was his mistake, and he's not taking credit for it. It's absolutely pitiful.
"I remember you asking what color was last years and we responded with brown, and then we proceeded to say that this years color was blue." You corrected as you held it out once more. A dry scoff past through his lips as he harshly shoved the organizer into your stomach. "What?"
"Take it up there and explain to him why this mix up even happened. Let's see if you can handle the main boss and his wrath." After he spoke his final words he trudged to his office in the back.
Turning around you noticed everyone's eyes on you. Their sympathetic smiles only hurt you feelings more. You wish you could tell them it was fine, that mistakes happen. Even in a company like this, but with Rufus' new outburst you're afraid to even open you mouth at all.
"L/n! Get going!"
With that command you rushed off in the opposite direction. You tried not to draw that much attention as you walked right up the familiar glass door. When your eyes landed on his laser focused figure your legs grew weak almost giving in, and letting your body fall towards the floor. The thought of him yelling at you, saying you're disturbing him only made you want to race back to your original post and let someone else handle this. This should be Rufus after all not you.
You banged on the glass as lightly as you could and waited for his eyes to at least glance at the door. When it didn't happen you almost took that as your chance to bolt back downstairs. Youâd just have to make up a lame excuse and say he was busy or not in his office at the moment.
"Rufus where - " Mr. Jeon stopped dead in his words when he noticed a more feminine looking figure in the other side of the glass. No gray hair, but a full colored one, no nasty black dress pants, but smooth legs connected to a very fitted pencil skirt. He could honestly say he was really enjoyed the view.
You tried to calm your breathing as you pushed open the door to let it swing open fully. The moment your entire body was in full view Mr. Jeon physically felt the breath leave his body. He was astonished at the person who was standing before him, he's never seen someone so breathtakingly beautiful. For the first time in his whole laugh he couldnât muster up the rights words to say.
"Mr. Jeon I'm so sorry if Iâm interrupting, but Rufus sent me with the correct numbers this time. Would you like to go over them?"
The way his name fell from your lips was sending the poor man in a full on spiral. His world felt like it was beginning to take a new form. A new form that was making him feel something he's never felt before, and he was now determined to keep this feeling alive and blooming. This was the one thing he was going to nurture like no tomorrow and make sure you're always by his side. All he needed was for you to agree and it was gonna be a piece of cake, hopefully.
All he needed was your name, and then he could get his hands on anything he needed to make you his.
"Oh you're not interrupting at all, but who are you?" His voice was filled with curiosity and you could actually understand it. The two of you have never formally met considering it was Rufus who hired you to work underneath him.
"Oh! I'm Y/n L/n, I work in the marketing department." You smiled as you extended a hand. What surprised you the most was how gently he took your hand into his. Like it was make of tender glass and if anything touched it, it would shatter into a million pieces. You've heard so many stories about how this man was as ruthless and conniving as they come. Yet here he is treating a stranger like theyâre a delicate rose that needed strong protection and a gentle hand to do the protecting.
"I'm sorry we haven't formally met, but better late then never right, but let's see those numbers." He smiled as he gestured to the seat in front of him. That smile grew a bit wider when he noticed you pull the chair a bit closer. While doing this your body was leaned forward and when his eyes noticed your cleavage that was peeking out through the small dip in your shirt, his breath hitched. Purple suits her, oh god I bet that color would suit my floor even better.
"Are you okay, Mr. Jeon?" You questioned when the legs of the chair were finally sturdy against the tiles. Your caring eyes were full of concern as you stared at him. No sick motive behind you words, just genuine and honest concern.
"Of course don't worry about me, now back to these numbers."
Your fingers skimmed the lines of number that were printed onto the page. Making sure to note which numbers corresponded with which sales for that period. This company truly was a force to be reckoned with. Since it easily became one of the richest and most powerful companies within a few years. All that progress was made possible by the CEO Jeon Jungkook.
"Miss. l/n can I have a little bit more of your time before you go, I have an important question I need to ask you." He asked while you began to stand up and gather the correct numbered papers and neatly placed them into the empty folds of the organizer.
"Of course, Mr. Jeon. What is it?"
"How does Rufus treat his workers, is he as good of a boss as he claims to be?" He asked while intertwining his hands and leaning forwards on his desk. His eyebrows raised and his head tilted just slightly. The hesitation in your answer made his hands tighten ever so slightly. "How does he treat everyone? I need an answer."
"I mean he treats us good, but usually tries to rush things."
"Miss L/n, I don't appreciate when I'm being lied to straight to myself face. Now I'm gonna ask you one more time. What is his attitude back in that department like?" Mr. Jeon snapped. Just as before he was losing his patience, he needed this answer desperately. He finally wanted a reason to cut Rufus off at the knees and watch him crumble at the thought of losing the one thing that is keeping him afloat.
"He used to be really understanding and such, but now he rushes us and then proceeds to pile work-load upon work-load on us. He's agitated all the time and never sees anything as his fault it's always someone else's." You confessed as you fiddled with the hem of your blouse. Acting like the small, black button on the bottom was the most important thing in the world.
"Thank you for your cooperation and if youâre interested in a new swag from Rufus Iâm almost positive I have a few new openings.â He added before you started walking out the door. His eyes lingering a bit longer on parts of your body that those eyes shouldnât be looking at.
"I'll see if I can come by later, thank you Mr. Jeon."
"You're welcomed and you can call me Jungkook from now on."
You gave a small nod and quickly made your way out the door. Jungkook smiled like he has just seen the gates of heaven, but just the mere thought of you was more endearing than heaven itself. A dazzling smile had graced his face. He could feel a warm sensation taking over his body as he watched you walk down the end of the hallway and disappear into the crowds of people that flooded the office halls. When he was for certain that no one was going to bother him he quickly rolled around to his computer.
His sharp fingers typing at rapid speed against the white keyboard. Dozens of searches popping up, but none matching the description of the one person he needed. A groan of disapproval was lodged in his throat as nothing was coming up. Your file was somehow hidden from his view. His nails dug indents into the palms of his hands since his grip was iron tight. He needed to keep his temper under control he couldnât afford to cause a scene on his office and have people rushing in.
He couldnât afford to let people see his darling on his computer when you were supposed to he for his eyes only.
A small ding alerted him of a new notification. A new file had finally been added to the company database. By the grace of god that file was none other then yours. That beautiful face adoring his computer made his heart swell with endless amounts of joy. He had what he wanted at his fingertips.
He was gonna learn everything about you and all he needed to do was a click a few tabs. It may seem strange with his sudden infatuation with someone he just met, but he couldnât help it. It was like a breath of fresh air watching you take timid steps through that door. Your honey like voice sounding like music to his ears and he wanted to keep that tune on repeat forever.
He wanted you forever.
When he fully closed out the tabs he raked his mind for possible positions he could place you in. The front desk was too far away and your intelligence would simply be wasted. When the thought of you being right by side crossed his mind there was no going back. The decision was already set in stone with or without your say so.
"I'll see you tomorrow my darling." He spoke in a gravelly voice. A sinister smile grazing his face at thought of you finally being his. This time his plans wonât fail, youâre not gonna end up like the last one. You are far superior then all of the others combined.
This time you were not gonna get away.
                  âââââ
You didnât like the unpleasant feeling that was flowing through your veins. The way his eyes went from kind and caring to stone hard within a snap of a finger gave you chills. He was determined to get the truth out of you and you gave into the pressure and completely caved. The air in that room felt suffocating and when you finally reached the step out of that office the air had finally came back into your lifeless like body. You scurried down the hall as fast as your heel clad feet could carry you.
You rushed to your cubicle as you placed yourself within its confinements. Genuine worrying filling you up once more as you thought back the encounters. His longing stares that stayed on you a bit too long to his hands that somehow kept brushing up against yours. The feeling felt foreign, strange and unwanted. The way his mood would swing from left to right left you drowning in concern.
The right thing was to just stay in your department and keep you distance. Somehow you still doubt he'll let you off that easy, but god you wish he would. You should never have said youâd come by to talk about the other job opportunities.
"Hey it's time to lock up." Lori shook your shoulders lightly pulling you away from your terror like thoughts. Her soft smile providing a little reassurance as to what just happened. No matter what you still can't shake that feeling that something is gonna go wrong. Usually your gut feelings are right, but this time you wish it was just an upset stomach.Â
"Oh yeah I'll meet you at the car I just gotta use the bathroom."
"Okay don't be too slow I want to stop and get something to eat." She yelled as she got further down the hallway. Until all that was seen was the shadow she casted on the dimly lit hallway.
The familiar ding of your phone flashed the notification that your file was added to the database. They let everyone know when they were added due to the fact that employees had a right to know when their information was uploaded on any sort of database. This also came with the perks that everyone was update when their profile was being viewed.
Oh god, that same feeling of dread overtook your body like a tsunami.
He had viewed it. Probably from top to bottom, taking in as much information as his eyes would allow. He has accessed your phone number, you education and your fucking address. Everything was now at his grimy fingertips. Maybe this was gonna be a lot more dangerous then you thought. You tried to play if off as fluke, as him seeing you for the first time and was just wondering around it. The whole air of the situation felt sinister and you just couldn't stop it.
Your eyes darted left to right in a panic making sure he wasn't lurking behind the curve of the halls. Your heart was beating too loud for you to hear properly. Those cool, metal keys were clutched between your fingers as you took shaky steps down too the parking garage. Without falling you didn't waste time to yank open Lori's car door.
"Wow honey, looks like you've seen a ghost.you mustâve peed quickly." Lori snickered as she held out her hands for the keys and then she began to pull the car out of park. Her eyes trained on the numerous vehicles behind her car.
"Oh me? Yeah I'm...fine. Turns out I didnât have to.â You said, taking a shaky breath. Your fingers quickly pressed the lock located on the right side of the door. The paranoia jumping out in your obvious actions. âWould if he weird to the main boss to view your profile?â
You saw her eyebrows go up as she pondered on the thought. Her acrylics tapping away at the wheel. âWell it all depends. If youâre talking about today then itâs probably fine, because keep in mind you just joined a few weeks ago. So donât worry about it.â
You felt you shoulders lose the tension inside them. The shaky breaths that you were making you light headed finally were under control. A small smile grazed your face as you rubbed you temples. A gracious thank you passed through you lips when you got out of Loriâs car. An overwhelming feeling of security lingered on your body when the latch on the door was finally hooked.
Youâre finally away from that place, youâre finally away from him. No need to watch over you shoulder to hide from his presence, no need to wonder if heâs lurking behind a corner.
The clothes that were restricted against you body felt like heaven coming off. Your bare skin was loving the feeling of cool breeze against it. You couldnât wait for the scorching hot water to bless you skin once more.
âHello?â You questioned, uncertainty laced throughout the word. Your eyebrows rose in confusion when the caller gave a heavy cough on the other line. You gave a shaky breathe as you tried to recollected yourself. âMr.Jeon?â
âOh! Yeah Iâm sorry, but I was just calling to see when you wanted to schedule that meeting of sorts?â He questioned, his voice seemed like it was caught in his throat. Like he was all chocked up. âAre you busy right now?â
âSorta, maybe it would be best if we called back later and try to arrange something?â You spoke. You were desperately trying to get out of this call as quickly as humanly possible.
âYeah, I hope you have a good night, y/n.â
You didnât even bother with a response as you quickly clicked the red button on the bottom of the screen. The damn phone number section had to be required on that stupid form. Right now youâre wishing you could just drop the job all together. Bills donât pay themselves though.
You wish the hot water would wash all your worries away. That when you stepped foot outside the tub that everything would go back to normal, but that stuff seems to only happen in the movies. You hair was standing up on the back of you neck, and you just wanted these foolish feelings to evaporate with the steam that was clouding your body.
When you finally stepped out the shower you were quick to wrap the green towel around you vulnerable body. When you back was turned towards small window you couldnât held the feelings that overtook your body.
âStop acting like a fucking coward.â You grumbled to yourself as you slid a shirt over you sticky, wet shoulders. âEverything is gonna be fine.â
No matter how many times you repeated that phrase to yourself that night, your mind still raced with endless amount of possibilities.
Maybe this wasnât gonna fine, maybe this was the start of something more sinister and dangerous then anyone could have imagined.
And maybe your mind was right.
