PeepoGiggles okay I did some research and your chá mate leão is actually not tea at all! Mate is a different plant that also has a lot of caffein, same way tea plants do!
yep! well, everyone calls it tea the same way we call any infused plant other than camellia sinensis tea, yk.
its the most popular "tea" over here, and often confused w black tea as well, since its very caffeinated and dark! its also prepared in different ways, so you can also have yerba mate (what we call chimarrão), just like u can have black tea, green tea, etc from the same plant!
