Hopper, after adopting Billy: No! I don’t want to hear another word about this!
Billy: But dad-
Hopper: You are underage! I could barely stand one adult boyfriend but three? No!
Billy: But dad, I love them!
Hopper: If they love you, then they can wait the eight months until you’re legal.

Neil cuts Billy's hair.
Billy doesn't want to be seen like this, but he has to go to school. Everyone's staring at him, and he wants to disappear. He's lost control of the one thing he can control in his life... his image.
Now he's got nothing.
But then King Steve actually sends a golden smile his way during Gym, tells him the new haircut suits him.
And Jonathan Byers, the stalker he's very much aware of, still has this look in his eyes that tells Billy he'll always want him.
Maybe his stupid hair is growing on him.
Billy starts to realize that in Neil cutting off his hair... the man he calls father has added fire to the smouldering flames in his belly. Billy's not angry at himself anymore.
Neil can't stand that he's reclaimed the haircut... He'd throw an even bigger tantrum if he knew it got Billy two boyfriends.
That knowledge is what keeps Billy going.

WHINY BOTTOM BILLY GETTING FUCKED BY STEVE WHILE JONATHAN IS IN THE NEXT ROOOOOOOM!!!!!
"Shhh honey," A drop of sweat from Steve's hair dripped down on the back of Billy's neck and he swore he could hear it sizzle.
It wasn't that Billy meant to make any noise. It was just that quickies always made him hot. He gripped the edge of the dryer and tried to bite his lip.
Steve's hands gripped him tightly, "Wouldn't want anyone to hear, would you? He would be so shocked to see you like this... pants around your ankles... and that ass..."
Billy made a desperate whimper, arching into Steve's hands.
"Do you think he'd take a picture? It might last longer."
Billy's orgasm swirled over him like a hurricane, catching him for one desperate moment in a half scream, that Steve swiftly muffled, stuffing his own underwear in Billy's mouth. Billy's eyes rolled back and his toes clenched up in his boots and he wailed brokenly as he felt Steve cum deeply, his movements getting choppy and rough.
Billy's knees still felt weak when he stumbled out into the living room.
"Hey guys," Jonathan smiled, pressing play on the vcr to start the opening credits, "I put a little extra butter on the popcorn."
"Yum," Billy said softly, setting next to him on the couch.
"Did he go a good job?" Jonathan's smile was knowing, but still somehow shy.
"Yeah," Billy kicked a boot up, settling into Jonathan's side and taking his hand, "Came so hard, I saw heaven."
Jonathan threw an arm around his other boyfriend, kissing him on the temple, "That's my good boy."
Steve blushed softly, and squirmed against Jonathan's chest, relaxing when the opening credits played, and wriggled his hands around Billy's.

Let’s be honest. The reason why Joyce and Jonathan don’t interact with Billy in the series is because they would clock his abuse the second they talked to him and the reason why Hopper has an intense dislike of Billy is because he used to be just like Billy and he hates the reminder of it. I like to think that in another universe, Jonathan befriends Billy before he becomes popular and Joyce realizes what’s going on when Jonathan invites him for dinner. She gives him the first motherly hug he’s gotten since his mom left him and she tells him that she’ll handle it. She then proceeds to ream Hopper out because he promised her that he wouldn’t let any more abusers slip through the cracks when he became Sheriff and he deals with Neil before properly combing Hawkins out for other abusers and getting rid of them.
Billy’s practically adopted by Joyce and he helps them realize that Will is acting weird thus preventing the trap from being set. Imagine Jonathan bringing Billy along with him whenever he went anywhere with Nancy and Billy being hated by Nancy since he took her place as top student in their year which infuriates her endlessly. They tell him all about the Upside Down and he helps the team at the lab with keeping everyone alive. He is extremely surprised to see Max with the other kids and while they fight, it’s only because they care about each other. Billy doesn’t meet Steve Harrington properly until that night and he doesn’t get how everything is connected until Jonathan tells him what happened and he laughs at the image of Steve being beaten in a fight by Jonathan before helping them with a monster called the Demogorgon. He’s a lot more chill with Jonathan’s influence so it’ll be so fun for him to literally whale on the demodogs as a form of anger management. He also doesn’t really dislike the kids since he knows for a fact that they’re Will’s friends so they must be somewhat okay since Will was okay.
Unsurprisingly, Billy and El get along like a house on fire after everything that happened which forces Hopper to change his opinion on Billy rather quickly. With either Billy or Max taking up her time, she doesn’t have time for Mike who the siblings both dislike. Billy and Max convince her that she could do better and much to Hopper’s delight, dumps his ass. Billy’s also a lot more comfortable talking to Joyce about what he went through so when the middle-aged mom brigade starts staring at him for too long, practically objectifying him, he’s willing to tell Joyce who tears into them with fervor. The kids spend equal amounts of time bothering Billy at the pool and begging Steve for free samples which Billy complains about to Jonathan who tells him that he signed up for it so he needs to just deal with it.
The events of season 3 still happen with the mindflayer but weirdly enough, it’s with Tommy and Carol who were heading to the motel to have some fun. They immediately target Steve when coming back and he realizes that the mind flayer has Tommy pretty fast and he gets El to take care of it with Billy’s help in holding Carol back without killing her. Later on, Billy helps Steve with the Russians too and he manages to distract the guards well enough for them to escape untortured so they could get back up in the form of Hopper and El.
Weirdly enough, Steve starts to see Billy in a new light while Jonathan has been slowly falling for his new best friend for a while now. Billy’s had crushes on both boys at different times but he’s pretty sure they’re both straight and into Nancy so he doesn’t bother. Cue The Byer-Hoppers deciding to move to California for a new start and Jonathan inviting Billy to come with them with the promise of bringing Max and Susan too if he wanted. Steve tries to convince him to stay. Billy doesn’t know how to choose between the temptation of freedom and a newfound familiarity.

I was kind of inspired by a post of @officialjoekeery about pre-byergroveton but I wanted to have some slight Billy angst and some Christmas festivities so here’s my take on it.
Imagine instead of Jonathan getting together with Nancy, he ends up together with Steve after the whole demogorgon beat down and Billy comes riding into town, with his eyes set on Steve only to find out he’s already taken by the town creep. Billy can’t understand what’s so amazing about this guy until he ends up partnered with him an English project, forcing him to get to know Jonathan and to end up falling for him too.
Steve was all charm and wit and admittedly, looks while Jonathan was heart and understanding and kindness. Billy knew deep down he didn’t deserve anything as good as either of them so he was resigned to just lonely pining for the rest of his time at Hawkins before he moved back to California. To add to his pain and suffering, Jonathan took their tentative working relationship as a sign of friendship and Billy had a permanent spot at their table and he was often dragged into their shenanigans like shooting the shit by Lover’s Lake or smoking by the quarry.
As Billy fell deeper and seemingly hopelessly more in love with the two, Jonathan was growing more and more concerned over the bruises and scars Billy liked to hide. It didn’t make any sense, the frequency of his injuries and the stories he told and Jonathan knew what it was like to cover up for an abuser. Since Joyce was dating Hopper, he brought it up one dinner only to have his mom share the same suspicions, forcing Hopper to look into things.
Hopper’s uncanny ability to be at the right place at the right time paid off once again because the first time he patrolled past the house and snuck a glance through the windows, he saw Neil Hargrove with a belt in his hands and a tapestry of scars and wounds laid open on Billy Hargrove’s back. Hopper didn’t hesitate before rushing through the front door to arrest that son of a bitch who started raving on and on about beating respect and responsibility into his bastard of a son who should have died instead. Since Billy was still a minor, Hopper was able to get Neil away long enough for both Max and Billy to be legal adults and he was able to spin it into a premeditated murder case so he would be long gone.
While Neil was taken away in handcuffs, an ambulance had been sent to the scene and Billy Hargrove had been carted out and witnessed by the neighbors, bruised to hell and back, looking every inch the battered and bruised 16 year old that he was. It became the talk of the town over Thanksgiving weekend, especially since no one had expected that at all.
Joyce immediately went over to help Susan, knowing exactly what that woman had gone through and more than willing to help Susan figure out how to make things right with Billy since her inaction had inadvertently hurt Billy. Joyce had been the one to convince Susan to testify in Billy’s favor and to stop living in fear of Neil.
Jonathan had very quickly volunteered to get Billy’s homework and bring it to the hospital for the week or so that he was kept in the hospital. Jonathan had given Billy a safe space to confess about all of the horrors his father had put him through because Billy knew that Jonathan would understand. The slightly older and definitely taller boy had nothing but kind listening ears for Billy and a warm hand to hold onto to ground himself.
Of course, as soon as Steve heard, he was there with Jonathan, bringing all sorts of gifts for people recovering from injuries brought forth by an irrational guilt of not noticing how badly the younger boy had been hurting. Steve had silently resolved to protect the smaller boy the first time he saw him dwarfed in a hospital gown, asleep and for once looking his actual age.
When Billy had returned, he didn’t bother with showboating anymore because that had been to keep himself safe from being hurt in the obvious places unless he’d really messed up and gotten his dad really angry. Billy had returned a quiet shell of his former self, focused on just making it through high school complete with a broken wrist and ankle from them being stomped on by Neil Hargrove upon being arrested as well.
Jonathan and Steve were his perpetual guard dogs in protecting the smaller blond, not letting anyone badmouth him and helping him with his day to day things since he wasn’t able to drive for a while, leaving him reliant on Jonathan and Steve for rides because he was unable to walk the mile to school. The boys were more than happy to help Billy since he not only helped them with their classes but because he’d slowly carved out a place in their hearts as well.
Steve had been the one to broach the conversation about it, telling Jonathan in no nonsense terms that he loves Jonathan but that he also grew to love Billy as well. It had been a huge relief to find out that Jonathan had felt the same about the younger blond and they decided to see if Billy would be receptive of their advances so that they could all be together.
Max had been the first to threaten the two if they ever hurt her brother after she had noticed them starting to be more obvious with their flirting to their purposefully oblivious brother. Max had grown incredibly close to Billy in his hospitalization, finally learning the truth about his punishments for her actions and how Neil had pitted them against each other from the start. She had promised to be a better sister while Billy had promised to be a better brother in return. They’d spent afternoons playing like they hadn’t done since they left California and post-hospitalization, Max was Billy’s biggest crutch since she’d guessed about his feelings for Steve and Jonathan and he told her about how he felt he’d never be good enough for either of them.
It had taken a lot of begging and pleading for Max to let Steve and Jonathan anywhere near Billy as she monopolized his time after school asking for help with homework or in figuring out a new dish since Max was learning how to cook while Billy was injured. It had also taken a greater amount of begging, pleading and bribery before she helped them in getting together with her brother.
She’d been the one to give Billy some of Steve’s old sweaters in preparation for the winter after the two had noticed Billy didn’t have any proper winter clothes since they knew that Billy wouldn’t accept any charity from Steve but would happily accept a gift from his sister who’d won them in a bet. Neither Steve nor Jonathan were prepared for how absolutely adorable Billy looked dwarfed in Steve’s old oversized sweaters.
It also didn’t help that they were there to witness the blond’s reaction to seeing his first real snowfall and the absolute child-like wonder that crossed his face was permanently burned into their retinas. As days passed, they literally couldn’t stop themselves from falling deeper and deeper in love with the blond who was slowly learning to allow himself to just be himself and not have to be the man that Neil wanted him to be.
It all comes to a head when the boys trap Billy at a Christmas Party/Welcoming Party to the Mayfield-Hargrove’s new home, right beside the Byers. They’d connived with Max to place some mistletoe all over the house, allowing them to trap Billy under the mistletoe between them. After an initial kiss for both boys, Steve and Jonathan clarified their intentions with Billy, making the younger blond blush at the praise heaped on him and the care he felt radiating from the boys.
They end up spending most of the Christmas party in Billy’s room, not even doing anything too wild but just enjoying each other’s company and proving their feelings to the blond who still couldn’t believe that the boys he loved loved him back. Max had already told the rest of the people in the house about what was going on and everyone just felt happy that for once, things were going great for Billy Hargrove.

👑 After Billy encounters a demodog while on his way to pick up Max from a sleepover, Steve takes a walk to Cherry Lane with a flashlight to check on him, and it soon becomes an unintentional routine. Billy has yet to call him out on it, so Steve isn't sure if he knows (he does). Steve doesn't know how to bring up what he's seen through Billy's window. He's starting to understand what Billy meant when he said that he's no stranger to monsters. He also starts leaving a light on in his house to let Billy know he's always welcome. Steve may be facing a different kind of monster, but they're all the same in the end. They thrive in the dark and prey on the lonely. Billy won't be lonely anymore; he'll make sure of it.
📸Jonathan sees the bruises that Billy's jacket can't hide. He follows Billy whenever he can, like a friendly shadow. If Billy notices, he doesn't say anything. He does, however, walk around with a small smile and a pep in his step. He's a walking masterpiece that sticks out from the drab background plaguing everyone else in Hawkins.
🤝No one understands Billy better than Patrick and Jonathan when it comes to his life at Cherry Lane. They just get it. Patrick has a curfew, so he can't stay up late, and both Jonathan and Billy have work, but they find a way to meet up whenever they can. Patrick and Billy are partners in lab and in pranks. Patrick calls Neil regularly, pretending to be a scorned ex-lover. Billy calls Patrick Senior at his job (accountant) just to annoy him. They're also on the basketball team together. Patrick secretly enjoys watching Billy get under Jason's skin. Jonathan occasionally stops by to watch them. Billy asks him if he wants to join the team. Jonathan looks at he and Patrick, all sweaty, and goes right back to his sketchbook.
📔Nancy meets Billy at the library every night at a certain time, so if he doesn't show then she'll know something is wrong. She also gives him Murray's address just in case he needs a place to go. She and Billy have a book club with Patrick and Eden, where they suggest different books to read every Wednesday. Sometimes they read to the little kids.
📢Heather covers for Billy at work if he can't come in. She'll stay with him at the pool after closing times. She helps him with his injuries and doesn't ask questions. When he's ready to talk, she'll be there. She switches shifts with him so he won't have to deal with Karen and the other creepy mothers.
🍍Argyle is always up for talking with Billy. Most of the time, it's just Argyle going on about the first thing that pops into his head. Billy chimes in whenever he feels like it. Argyle always has a story about annoying customers, and of course, everything is funnier when they're both high as hell.
🫧Carol lets Billy borrow her makeup. She takes him to the mall and they try on clothes together. Sometimes, they sit in his car, and she tells him he can let it all out.
🥋Tommy takes him to their favorite diner. Whenever Billy is filled with extra energy, Tommy lets him use his punching bag. They watch cartoons and throw chips at each other.
📣Chrissy fixes his hair into braids and ponytails. Billy reminds her that Neil doesn't like that, and she replies, "You want it. Do you really care what he wants? I don't." If he wants a hug, then she's more than happy to give him one (or three). Chrissy is also kind of a cuddle bug, and Billy is her favorite person to cuddle with because he's warm. They both talk shit about their parents. "Neil's mustache looks fake," or "Are you sure your mother's hair isn't a dead skunk?".
She drives Billy to her safe place, a hill under the stars. She says they can share it. She tries teaching him cheer routines and even gets out a uniform for him whenever they sneak into the gym. Patrick occasionally joins them to practice his free throws.
🍨Robin lets Billy into Scoops Ahoy, and they eat ice cream. They talk about crushes. They have inside jokes about their fellow classmates. Sometimes, Robin brings alcohol from her mother's stash and puts some in the ice cream for them to enjoy.

I don’t know why but an AU inspired by Heathers and Mean Girls but make it gay and non-murderous popped into my head involving Byergroveton so I just had to. This may or may not be crack so take from that what you will.
Of course, Jonathan is going to be like Veronica because hello, outsider and there’s no way that anyone else can be Veronica considering his mom was literally Veronica Sawyer originally. Steve would definitely be Season 1 Steve, mythic bitch and ruler of the school with his lackeys who’d do anything to stay in his good graces. Billy would be simultaneously JD and Cady since he steals Steve’s crown while also being a bad boy who just moved.
It all begins when Jonathan saves Steve, Tommy and Carol’s asses from detention by forging a hall pass for the four of them for yearbook committee, something Jonathan is actually part of. Steve’s impressed so he takes Jonathan under his wing to be a popular kid. Then, Billy arrives and he instantly steals Steve’s thunder. Steve doesn’t feel threatened though so he also takes Billy under his wing in popularity.
This is how Jonathan and Billy meet and they find themselves initially bonding over a similar music taste and eventually over shitty and abusive dads. The entire time, Jonathan has had a years-long crush on Nancy, Steve’s ex. When Billy starts to win Steve’s titles and friends away from him in a bid to impress Jonathan and Steve notices Jonathan’s stares at Nancy, he gets back together with Nancy to hurt Jonathan, blaming him for Billy’s attempts at taking his crown.
Jonathan is mildly heartbroken but he also knew he didn’t really have much of a chance. Billy takes this as his cue to step in and woo Jonathan who hasn’t realized that he’s bisexual and actually attracted to guys yet. Billy helps Jonathan find confidence and work on his style which gets Nancy’s attention. It also helps that Jonathan, Nancy and Billy are all a year lower than Steve and that Jonathan and Nancy were partnered in Chemistry together.
Nancy finds herself attracted to this new Jonathan so she dumps Steve for Jonathan. Of course, Billy would be heartbroken at them getting together and he doesn’t see the value in all of the titles and fake friends he got to try and impress his crush. Steve finds him drinking his woes away at the quarry, leading to them having a one night stand that strangely enough turns into a real relationship out of spite since Jonathan screwed them both over.
Weirdly enough, Steve and Billy work in a way that he didn’t with Nancy, especially since Billy was just as much of an asshole as Steve and because Billy was suprisingly the perfect sub to Steve’s dom. Billy was fine with being spoiled and taken care of which was a big issue with Nancy who loved her independence. Steve and Billy eventually grew to genuinely love and care for each other as time passed but Nancy and Jonathan only crumbled.
Nancy was too domineering for Jonathan who was used to being the big sibling and taking care of things. Nancy was unwilling to be anything less than in charge and while Jonathan was fine with it occasionally, he also wanted to be able to take care of and be taken care of in equal turn. Things eventually came to a head when Nancy got into NYU while Jonathan wanted to stay close to his family so he chose University of Chicago instead where coincidentally, Billy had gotten a full ride to and Steve had decided to follow Billy to.
Nancy and Jonathan broke up and Jonathan went to the University of Chicago as the same old loner he used to be before everything. It tugged on Billy’s heartstrings to see the boy he used to like be reduced to this and Steve begrudgingly allowed Billy to befriend Jonathan again, even if he was possessive of his boyfriend. Billy and Steve soon because Billy and Jonathan and Steve and weirdly enough, it didn’t feel weird at all like Steve had expected. Instead, it felt like something they didn’t even know was missing had been returned.
Jonathan knew that his two best friends were together but he was slowly getting tired of being their perpetual third wheel when he had developed feelings for both of them at different times only to lose them to each other. Their relationship was a harsh reminder of what he’d lost in choosing Nancy but Jonathan had to deal with the consequences of his actions. Of course, he didn’t expect Steve and Billy to box him in during one of their movie nights and proposition him to be their third.
Jonathan couldn’t say no and the rest was history. The three boys eventually found their way to each other even if it did take longer than expected but nothing could be simple when it involved Steve, Billy and Jonathan.

I’m halfway through outlining this story whether or not people want it but I raise you Fem! Billy getting pregnant by what she thinks is her boyfriend, Steve but not knowing until she’s in California.
When she invites him to come with her to California because she’s going with the Byer-Hoppers and the Mayfields, he takes it as the ending of their Friend with Benefits agreement which fits since Nancy’s flirting with him a lot more now that she and Jonathan were over. Billy’s obviously heartbroken because of this but she doesn’t dare wallow, instead talking about everything to her mom who recently came back into her life. They move a lot earlier than planned because Billy doesn’t want to see Steve again.
A few weeks after moving, Billy starts getting morning sickness and her worst fear came true. She was about to be a single mother who hadn’t finished college yet. She has a breakdown and is aided by everyone. Her mom suggests she defer her admission for a year since it’s not too late to do so and she proposes to raise the kid as her sister and not her child. Billy doesn’t want to do that though so she agrees to compromise and still have the baby as hers with her grandparents taking a very active role in her upbringing because Billy’s new dad has always wanted kids but couldn’t have them and this is their chance.
Since the Byer-Hoppers live close by and the Mayfields share the house, Billy’s rarely alone and she has a lot of support from the woemn who knew what it was like to be single mothers and from all of the kids who were raised by single parents. Jonathan in particular was very active in helping her, getting close to her and always trying to help out. Will blamed it on the fact that his mom had miscarried their little sister because of Lonnie and Jonathan still blamed himself.
Fast forward to 5 years from now and the kids are already in college and Hopper and Joyce are getting married and they invited a lot of the Hawkins Crew, including Steve and Dustin. Imagine Steve’s surprise when he sees a tiny blonde blur with his eyes go flying past him straight into Max’s arms calling her Auntie Max. She’s followed by Billy who looks even more radiant under the California sun and he does the math in his head. Imagine his reaction when the kid runs straight into Jonathan Byers, calling him daddy. The literal heartbreak of realizing he had a kid he never really knew about and to think he lost everything again to Jonathan Byers.
Cue the emotional talk between Steve and Billy confirming that they did have a child and the immediate relief he feels when he finds out that the whole daddy Jonathan and Mommy Billy is a running gag the kids started that they couldn’t stop. Cue Steve using the wedding rehearsals as a way to get close to Billy all while Jonathan finally dares to make a move on Billy. The kids all have their favorites but they don’t know who Billy will pick. Will it be Steve whom she genuinely loved and had her heart broken by or will it be Jonathan who’s been by her side for the entire ride and never really hinted that he cared for her as more than just friends?
