super loose sketch but. I have so many writing ideas about dsmp characters and religion from c!wilbur’s perspective. (I hc him as an athiest or agnostic who’s closest peers are people of faith and he tries so hard to understand but cannot connect with religion, fears he can’t understand this piece of them, like an outsider to faith and that peace in their features when they talk about it. c!tommy with lady prime, c!quackity with something akin to Catholicism that he can’t remember the origins of, c!techno a pagan/pantheist acting with several deities, c!phil a pagan). inspired by this and this and @ghosts-and-blue-sweaters . Something something mirroring the behaviors of his closest friend that bring him comfort to see if anything will work at this point. Taking it seriously at first and then getting embarrassed with himself when he doesn’t hear a voice back. Getting frustrated and pretending to himself that he never tried and it was silly. going to limbo. idk.

when wilbur was born, kristen asked techno if he wanted to hold him. techno said no. phil rolled his eyes, thinking he probably had an aversion to babies because of the whole orphan thing. no, techno was just scared he was going to break wilbur because he was so small.

a couple weeks pass and they can't get wilbur to settle down and sleep. they put him in the crib and close the door, content to let him tire himself out. within minutes, wilbur settles down. they open the door a crack to see techno in the rocking chair, wil against his chest, and techno's very quietly retelling the myth of orpheus and eurydice

If you ask why i drawing Quackity as Gardevior & Wilbur as Armarouge? because well the dance and loyalty? i mean i always see fanart of tntduo dancing and the mega gardevior is actually based on ballroom dancing and also looks like a wedding dress… i think Quckity hates his mega form because the color is black, it reminds him of his failed in love & Wilbur is look like very loyal soldier who unfortunately he is starting to break down, and base on pre evo that is a charcoal that turn into live so charcoal=soot and thats the reason i think.

i also thinking funny story: maybe Quackity forgot he need dawn stone when evolving at level 30 to evol into Gallade... Also because But if you ask Quackity as Gallade i draw it btw

"I conjured up a strength potion for us, I've got a whole evening planned." He smirked and pulled another identical potion before handing one to you and uncorking them both.

"Starting right from sunset i assume?" You asked sarcastically.

"Well of course, how else are you supposed to see my handsome face?" He smiled widely, showcasing his deadly canines and offered a cheers with his potion. You obliged and downed it with him.

Wilbur shook out his head and rolled his shoulders at the strong taste of the potion.

"Now then, I've set up promptly a whole feast basically for us but before we start I would like you to join me in a game of tag to get our appetites up." Wilbur clicked his tongue.

"So you sat me down like a gentleman for nothing?" You cocked an eyebrow at him.

"Basically yes."

Very much a gentleman and likely does stupid things on purpose to make you smile to make you remember how much fun you had so you'd go on a second date with him

New to the server and the only other Elytrian in the Pub's interface you were bound to...make...some new friends. Phil had semi introduced you to everyone but the one called Wilbur, or more commonly Phantombur or oddly Ghostbur at times, did not seem very keen to be as friendly as the rest.

"Just give him time. He doesn't like new people. You should've seen it when I got here." Shelby was quick to befriend you and you often hung around at her cottage which was oddly close to the other Phantom's.

"Is he odd?" You asked.

"Depends on the day really. He's super nice once you know him though." Shelby had insisted so you spent the next few days trying to at least get the mischievous potion master to speak to you.

"alright look-" you entered Wilbur's shop with a handful of diamonds and a few gold bars as well. The shop owner looked up in startled surprise before a bored look replaced it. "If I buy out your supplies will you at least tell me why you think i'm scum of the earth?"

"What are you talking about?" Wilbur closed the book he had in his hand and removed the cigarette that hung loosely from his mouth.

"You've done nothing but scowl at me since I got here." You clarified and laid out the gems of payment. Then Wilbur laughed. Loudly and mockingly. He smirked and gazed at your differently, in a way like nothing else mattered.

"Darling I've been flirting with you this entire time waiting for this moment."

Then you saw him. Wilbur. Your Wilbur. Dead but here with you again.

"I guess we made it to the next life my love." He said when he saw you and nothing could stop you from running into his arms any longer. Years apart were torn down with a single embrace and loving kiss.

Wilbur built a business with you and constructed an strange and complicated shield of protection for you over the next years. You became untouchable lest the rest of the server face the wrath of the Potions Master Phantombur and his ever loyal wife.

"I guess they took till death do we part seriously." Charlie had joked once and earned a sound from Wilbur you longed for. His laugh, intoxicating and joyous.

"You hear about Jack getting robbed?" You smiled as you entered the shop and picked out your usual order. A few regen and a strength potion.

"Weird innit?" Wilbur smiled at you and gave a convincing smirk.

"Totally weird. Heard he saw some real pretty green eyes close by earlier before it happened." You narrowed your eyes knowingly at him. "Similar to yours I do believe."

"Aw you think my eyes are pretty." Wilbur feigned flattery and chuckled.

"Can I ask you somethin Wilbur?" You leaned on his counter and the Phantom man mimicked your stance, his face inches from yours and smiling like a cat as always.

"Well of course darling." He responded slyly.

"Why haven't you stolen from me yet?" You questioned with a hushed voice and narrowed eyes.

"It's simple my dear," Wilbur rasied a hand and brushed a loose strand of hair behind your ear. "Your heart isn't just sitting in a storage room somewhere ripe for my taking."

Dude it's so bad. It's gotten better thank god. but man for a while there it was weirdly normalized to write this horribly ableist version of c!Wilbur who's evil tm and laughs evilly while beating up c!Tommy or sometimes c!tubbo or c!ranboo or c!dream or c!Quackity (????) because he's super evil guys!!!

The worst part to me was that sometimes people wouldn't even tag that shit and you'd be reading a normal fic and then BOOM here comes c!wilbur burning down an orphanage or kicking puppies for fun.

It's so frustrating to see people do this because you don't need to flatten c!Wilbur's mental illness. It's pretty nuanced for a Minecaft Roleplay in my opinion. Not perfect by any means but just focusing on alivebur and c!Wilbur's first arc before ghostbur and revivbur. (I have a lot more criticism of how revivebur was handled but that's for another day.) I don't have many criticisms. And you especially don't need to flatten c!Wilbur for other character's angst. Rain duo and Crime Boys especially are such fascinating takes on how someone's mental illness and downward spiral can affect the people who love them and about what it's like to still love someone who hurt you deeply and not be able to let go of them. About how hard it is especially when you know they were struggling. It's very annoying to see people take this topic which could be so interesting and completely bastardize it into this black and white and frankly boring story.
