Madinat Khalida, also known as The Timeless City; collapsed due to a brawl between the God of Silence and the God of Contracts—or as some would call him, the God of War.

The two gods fought long and hard, tooth and nail, till many moons and suns rose and fell. The forest had seen it, the shadows had witnessed it, and the beaming light that held high merely gazed on.

The God of Silence was by no means a weak god, having to fend off more than a few creatures that their early nation could've fallen for a thousand times over.

But alas, the so-called God of War had his eyes sent on them and their nation. His intentions may have been good—only intending to "spar" with them, but their fight had erupted many casualties on the desert's plains, both in its wake and its aftermath.

The spears that rained down the city were buried beneath the sands, but what went along with it was Madinat Khalida.

The God of Silence grieved at the death of their people when their nation was caught in-between the depths of the sand and the bedrock below, knowing that they could've just led the opposing god out of the perimeter of their city - but what they did was already done.

Their city had sunk.

With the God of Contracts having "oh so coincidentally" already left the crime scene, their nation buried underneath miles upon miles of sand; they joined their nation in hopes of rescuing or unearthing any evidence of life—trying to reassure themselves that maybe, just maybe, there was even a patch of grass alive.

As they lost hope in finding even just a piece of cloth, they saw a soft, green glow emanating from the other side of their city - one that they hadn't notice before.

Due to their desperation, they sprinted to the light, slowly getting engulfed by it and promptly passing out from their exhaustion.

After they had awoken, they saw a big, magnificent tree—the one who the people of Sumeru now call "Irminsul"—, once they remembered their original objective, they ran from root to root and bark to bark until they reached the base of the tree.

Naturally, since they were dubbed as the God of Silence, they couldn't speak, so they had to resort into using some of their remaining magic left, and spoke,

"Oh blessed tree, you who have witnessed nations rise and fall, you who remember every living being that had first opened it's eyes and those who fell prey to eternal sleep. Please, oh please, where have my children gone? To where did the last of my dears go?"

The tree didn't reply, only keeping it's radiant glow bright. The God of Silence shed their final tear, using the last of their power to ask one more question, "To where did my city—that had seemingly bloomed from nothing—go, oh heavenly tree?"

They knew it was all for nothing, but they smiled once more, kneeling as they embraced the tree. At last, the god breathed their last breath, a soft sigh escaping their lips.

At last, a god clad in green and white, the god that was dubbed as the God of Wisdom by her people, approached the rapidly disintegrating god, rushing to their side—her face filled with remorse, regret and shock.

As the last of their physical form flew with the wind, the God of Wisdom could only wordlessly pick up their belongings - clothes, accessories, and the like.

To commemorate the late god, Greater Lord Rukkhadevata put on three leaf clips that she had given to them before as a welcome gift.

Unbeknownst to her, the god's soul remained, with it now possessing the three clips; binding the two gods in an eternal harmony of wisdom and music.

Total War Warhammer 3 update 2.4 is available to download on PC players. According to the official Warhammer 3 patch notes, the latest update brings the usual bug fixes and visual improvements. Apart from this TWW3 update 2.4 also includes stability fixes. Previously, Warhammer 3 update 2.1 added brand-new Immortal Empires game mode, Blood for the Blood God, and more. Unfortunetly, since the last patch, players are experiencing problems with the game. Today's Total War Warhammer 3 patch 2.4 will fix a few of these issues. Check out more details below. GENERAL UPDATES Heroes that were made to die after fulfilling their usefulness (such as Nurgle Plague Cultists) no longer have the ‘Mentor’ skill. UNITS The Snowhorn of Mourn will no longer slide when turning around. GENERAL UPDATES Clan Eshin’s ‘The Sudden Kill Scheme’ rite no longer provides two simultaneous speed bonuses. MFSRI Motherland: Fort Salem Musical Breakdown; Gone to Stay – Freakwater

Music has been an integral component to the Magic that is Motherland: Fort Salem. From the hauntingly beautiful original score, to the perfectly chosen music accompaniments like Higher and WLCM, the music has really elevated the show to another level. So perhaps you were like us when Scylla walked into the Spree safe house at the end of the finale, our ears perking up at the sound of something…. Unique. So, what is that song that is playing? Just a weird country song? 

At surface level, Gone to Stay by Freakwater is simply aesthetically fitting and provides the final bit of foreshadowing; the Collars are a southern family. But when you listen to the lyrics, this song in a way serves as a perfect nightcap for the entire season while potentially providing insight into the depths of Willa’s mind and motivation. Let’s break it down verse by verse to see how.

How many heartaches do you think you can stand I used to count 'em all on the fingers of just one hand Way back in the distance before these sad times began Now I'm down by the ocean counting grains of sand  

This is Willa telling her story about how the military slowly chipped away and left her broken and grasping for anything to stop the onslaught of heartaches. It’s about the flaws she saw in the military system, the number of times she was heartbroken by being pulled away from her family and from seeing so many of her sisters be killed. This can symbolize the accumulation of events that pushed Willa over the edge to the Spree and that she’s remembering a time before everything went to shit, when she had her love, Edwin, and her daughter… longing for that happiness in the future. And the grains of sand? That perfectly mirrors her supposed “death” on a beach in a fire fight; now she’s counting days till she Raelle again.

And not only is this verse about Willa and her accumulating heartbreaks from her time in the military, it’s also about Scylla and her parents. It’s about Scylla and the absolute roller-coaster she went on all season, that ended with her imprisoned and heartbroken with a bleak looking future instead of a bright one.

When Anacostia hands her the photo of her dead parents, she whispers to herself “better times”. This poor girl witnessed her parents be murdered by the hands of oppressors. And now she is locked in a dungeon, her heart in pieces over losing the first person she had allowed herself to love since she lost her parents. So here she is, remembering the happy times that were once before.

And the reference to sand not only mirrors how Willa supposedly died, but also the beach Raelle and Scylla were supposed to escape to; a beach was how they were going to obtain happiness.

There's nothing so pure as the kindness of an atheist A simple act of unselfishness that never has to be repaid

These are the lines being sung as Scylla enters the house and they can honestly apply to the unselfish acts of many of our ladies throughout the season: 

- Raelle trying to save Porter even though she could have died - Raelle saving Khalida even though she was going to likely die by taking on a plague that had killed many before her - Scylla choosing Raelle over her mission, even though it would mean a bleak future for herself - Quartermama letting Scylla go, against her better intuition (though... it does seem like she may have some ulterior motives here too) - Tally sacrificing her youth to save Alder - Abigail ready to die to try and save Raelle from a fatal wound

So many acts of selflessness shown this season... 

And there's nothing so sure as a razor blade above your wrist When you think you just can't stand it

Scylla pauses right before entering the kitchen… right before she discovers that Raelle’s mother was the one behind the balloon. And this is perfect because these lines are Raelle. Raelle has self-destructive tendencies as she drowns in her own grief. Her death-wish when she was first conscripted because of her mother’s “death”. Her sorrow over losing Scylla driving her to risk her life carelessly (i.e. taking Salva and almost dying, willingly attempting to heal Khalida when it would have likely resulted in her own death b/c of her grief).

You're gonna leave empty handed Do you still dream of being saved

The closing words of the season. The fade to black. These words are here to tell us that sometimes, when you’re in an abusive, painful situation, the only way to save yourself is to just drop everything and leave it behind in order to escape. Willa had no choice; she had to quit cold turkey and leave with nothing for a chance of having everything in the future. Also, Willa knows about her daughter’s destructive tendencies. She’s telling her that after she reaches her lowest, when she has nothing left, not to give up because that is when she is going to be saved.  

Friends and relations they all stand around As the casket is lowered down into the ground The shovel dirt and gravel - all his mother hears is the sound Of a little baby crying somewhere in the crowd

And now we’re onto what wasn’t played in the episode but these words perfectly fit Willa once again. This is her POV from her choice to fake her own death. The pain that she knows it will cause her family; it’s even more painful for her to watch from a distance and not be able to do anything. That baby crying? Yeah, that’s Raelle. Willa had to leave her behind and that hurt her the most (killed her inside to do it, but knew it was necessary). And Raelle was left mourning her mother.

Jesus wouldn't save you and you cried I knew I couldn't save you so I lied

Oh, the parallels continue. We’ve already established that Raelle parallels Jesus Christ (aka is Lesbian Jesus). But beyond the obvious parallels to Raelle attempting to save people, this verse fits both Willa and Scylla. Scylla kept her past a secret and lied about her true motivations in order to save Raelle. Willa couldn’t save Raelle from conscription, so she had to lie and fake her own death – the only way she thought she could save her daughter.

The doctors couldn't save you but I do believe they tried After dying together we die alone side by side

As a family of fixers, this could again be paralleling how Willa is trying to save Raelle. Willa sent Scylla in to “save” Raelle but Scylla failed her mission even though she was ultimately trying to save Raelle by doing so. So now, Raelle has “died” alone, never having known that Willa never really died at all.  Both will have “died” with the same “heartache” for each other. Together... but alone.

I really must say, I was a strong opponent of Willa still being alive until I really listened to this song. Because of this, I feel like I can accept the possibility of this being real Willa, that she never really died on the beach, that she really believed she had no other choice and that this really was the only way she could save her family.

Nothing about Edwin though… so I hope the writers find a way to provide closure for Edwin. Poor guy. and because of this I’m still in part on team this is estranged aunt and Willa did actually die. I have multiple apples in different apple boxes currently until we get context next season.

Cuando quedó en libertad pensamos que eramos inmunes a las detenciones y todo lo que conllevan, hasta que detuvieron a mi madre. Su encarcelamiento es un dolor que pesa en nuestros corazones más que ningún otro. Me di cuenta de que no soy la mujer madura y fuerte que es capaz de asimilar el dolor o la investigadora en derecho y abogada internacional que creía estar protegida por un mecanismo para controlar el dolor. De hecho, me di cuenta de que no era más que un ser humano y de que me pueden herir una y otra vez, especialmente cuando encarcelan reiteradamente a mi madre. Sin embargo, dentro de toda esta mezcla de emociones me reconforta saber que mi madre se ha convertido en una madre para las otras 42 presas políticas que comparten su suerte en las cárceles israelíes”.

Las fuerzas de ocupación han acosado a Khalida Jarrar durante toda su vida, incluso la condenaron a trasladarse obligatoriamente a Jericó (que según los Acuerdos de Oslo se considera Zona “A”)(2) antes de su segunda detención en 2014. El traslado se hizo bajo el pretexto de un expediente secreto, el mismo tipo de documento de los servicios de inteligencia que se utiliza para ordenar la detención administrativa, esto es, el encarcelamiento sin cargos ni juicio. Khalida y su familia protestaron por medio de una sentada durante todo el día todos los días de la semana durante un mes en el edificio del CLP . Se canceló la orden de traslado, pero entonces Khalida fue atacada por aquella victoria y encarcelada 15 meses. Además, tiene prohibido viajar desde 1998 hasta el día de hoy como represalia por haber participado en París en las reuniones preparatorias de la Declaración Universal para la Protección de los Defensores de los Derechos Humanos.

Nihaya, la hermana de Khalida, dice sobre sus recuerdos de ella: “Recuerdo sobre todo que Khalida siempre estaba o bien leyendo o inmersa en su trabajo voluntario y activa en los sindicatos de estudiantes. De niña le gustaba leer sobre la historia de Palestina y novelas relacionadas con ello. Lo que más le gustaba era la literatura de Ghassan Kanafani” (3). Su hermana continúa: “Khalida es apasionada, generosa y una dirigente influyente en su comunidad. Además, Khalida rompió las costumbres sociales y rechazó nuestras anticuadas tradiciones familiares. Por ejemplo, cuando se casó se negó a aceptar una dote de más de un dinar jordano, de modo que estableció así una nueva tradición que iban a seguir el resto de las mujeres de la familia. Cada etapa de su vida es una historia en sí misma. Siempre le ha dado un enfoque diferente en busca de desarrollo y progreso, incluso entre nosotros. Se casó con su amigo y compañero desde la época de la universidad después de vivir una gran historia de amor. El amor que sienten el uno por el otro y el apoyo que se prestan mutuamente siguió siendo fuerte a pesar de las dificultades de su vida y de las muchas detenciones y separaciones”. Por último, pero no menos importante, la madre de Khalida, de 80 años, que también milita desde joven en la Unión de Comités de Mujeres Palestinas, señaló lo orgullosa que está de Khalida. Admite abiertamente a sus otros hijos que siente predilección por ella: “Está Khalida y están los demás”, afirma. “Mi hija se despierta cada mañana con el convencimiento de que tiene que hacer algo en este mundo y trata afanosamente de hacerlo. Así es como la he educado y seguiré estando orgullosa de ella mientras viva. Querida hija, te echamos de menos, tu comida favorita está preparada, todos esperamos que vuelvas”.

COVID-19 Lockdown 3.0: Waiting for special trains to take them home, migrant workers in Hyderabad battle hunger and helplessness

Trapped in lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic, over a thousand migrant workers staying in Hyderabad's Tolichowki took to the streets on Sunday demanding to be taken home.

Even after umpteen visits to the nearby Langar House Police station to seek information about the special trains scheduled from Hyderabad to their home states, as per the directive from the Ministry of Home Affairs, their patience ran thin, and they, in desperation and anguish, resorted to staging a sit-in at Tolichowki junction.

Similar cases of a huge number of migrant workers thronging Secunderabad railway station and other places in the city have come to light. Inept handling of the situation by the administration, poor communication, and rumour-mongering on social media are to be blamed for this chaos.

The worst-hit victims of the lockdown and the subsequent economic crisis are migrant workers and daily wagers left stranded for weeks in metros without rations and food and with no support from their employers.

While special trains filled with migrant labourers have started departing, for many the future remains uncertain due to the state government's poor planning.

Hunger pandemic

Post the announcement of lockdown, the migrant workers in Hyderabad have been staying at construction sites or temporary shelters set up all over the city, where living conditions are poor.

Some of them have been kicked out of their rented places because they have been unable to pay the landlord or due to discrimination. Many have not eaten in days.

“They just dumped us here without food and water,” said Yogendra, a 37-year-old from Uttar Pradesh. Yogendra and his wife are staying at a temporary shelter in Secunderabad that houses around 200.

Yogendra has been working at a restaurant in Hyderabad for over a year. After the lockdown, he was shifted to a temporary shelter. A local activist has been providing Yogendra and others in his shelter with food and water.

It is incumbent on governments to provide the necessary rations and food to these. And this isn't just a moral responsibility, but is also important from a policy perspective.

The UN World Food Programme (WFP) chief David Beasley has warned that the would could face a “hunger pandemic” due to COVID-19.

Despite the state government’s promise of 12 kg rice and Rs 500 per person every month, many workers staying in areas such as Lingampally, Gudimalkapur and Tolichowki complain of not receiving rations or any assistance from the government.

Hyderabad district civil supply officer, C Padma, said over the phone, “Separate counters have been set up for migrant labour under the supervision of the collectorate as part of disaster management.”

Sangeetha, Deputy Collector, Hyderabad, said, “Ration kits have been distributed among 73,000 migrants in two phases.” She added that this assistance was mostly extended to workers from the unorganised sector.

Civil rights activist Khalida Parveen, who feeds hundreds of migrant workers every day, said, “The government needs to act swiftly. They can’t just leave the migrant workers to fend for themselves.”

On Tuesday, Nobel laureate Abhijit Banerjee called upon the government to hand out temporary ration cards for three to six months in order to feed the poor and save their lives.

Risk of outbreak

Ignoring the plight of the migrant workers can have deadly consequences. Workers are extremely vulnerable to the virus due to poor living conditions that make social distancing impossible. The places they're staying in are cramped and could emerge as COVID-19 hotspots.

Athar, a restaurant worker, stays in Salarjung colony with 100 other workers in a two-storey building. Up to 20 people share one room. The slums in Lingampally, Madhapur, Tolichowki, Banjara Hills, Musheerabad and Mehdipatnam are full of such potential hotspots where dozens of workers share cramped accommodations.

Over-crowded living spaces, unavailability of masks and sanitisers, poor sanitation, and lack of hygiene and clean drinking water will only further expose them to the virus and other health risks.

We can’t defeat this pandemic by ignoring the less fortunate sections of society because even a single case could make matters worse. State governments must step up, treat them as equally important stakeholders, and take them along in this fight.

Desperate to return home

The workers have only one desire: to return to their families in peace. They have been visiting local police stations with their details and trying to reach out to the helpline numbers provided by the state but haven’t yet received a proper response.

With each passing day, they are growing restless. They want to reach home by any means necessary.

As a last resort, workers have been walking hundreds of kilometers in the scorching summer through the National Highway-44 to their home states. Hundreds of migrants were stranded for weeks in Adilabad district on the border of Telangana, unable to return home.

“We are stuck,” said Sanjay. The 27-year-old salesman working at reputed textile store in Hyderabad's Panjagutta looked apprehensive. “Our future in uncertain.”

Sanjay and 15 others in his group have walked over 300 kilometres. They reached Adilabad on Monday.

However, for the last couple of days, the police have been allowing migrants to cross the Telangana border. Vishnu Warrier, Superintendent of Police. of Adilabad, confirmed the development.

“We are collecting details of the migrants, screening them using thermal scanners, and stamping their hands before allowing them to cross the state border,” Warrier said.

“A whopping 15,000 migrants are leaving the Telangana state border on the northern side every day,” he added.

With this kind of chaos and confusion, the government needs to streamline its communication and make it more robust to avoid whispering and rumour-mongering, which is actually creating panic.

“The government needs to provide clarity on the guidelines for migrant workers, registration process, schedule of trains and thermal testing,” said Meera Sanghamitra, member of ‘COVID-19 Advocacy Lockdown Collective’, an umbrella of various civil society organisations.

Sanghamitra also urged the government to engage with civil society and other Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) to counsel the workers and take them into confidence.

Rashmi, another stranded worker, blames the government for poor planning. “Had the government provided a couple of days notice before the lockdown, we would have planned accordingly,” she said.

Meanwhile, as per an official release of the Telangana government, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao requested officials of the South Central Railway (SCR) to organise travel of migrant workers in the next couple of days.

Khalida will pretend it doesn't bother her, but it does. both that she wasn't able to help mc and that she isn't their true love. once mc is awake, she'll continue to pretend it didn't bother her, but she would want some reassurance that mc does want to be with her, true love or not.

Mal/Malik/Malika is upset that mc didn't wake up, but they're not so upset about not being mc's true love. they love mc and they know mc loves them. if mc has someone else that is their true love, they will work it out once mc is awake again.

Rainn will refuse to believe it. the curse might remain, but they have no doubt that they're mc's true love, one of them at least. there must be something about this curse that they're not yet aware of, something that keeps them from breaking it, and they will find out what.

Silas would be devastated. more so that mc is still under the curse, but of course to find out they're not mc's true love, because mc is theirs. it would likely remain a lingering doubt for a long while even after mc wakes up, that one day mc will choose the person who ended the curse over them.

The Unknown One is only upset that mc hasn't woken up, but he doesn't care that he's not their true love, because he doesn't believe in that. he'll search far and wide for the person who will end the curse, but he has no doubt that mc will still choose to be with him once they wake up again.
