astor was wired. astor was pissed. astor HATED losing, and he’d just been conned out of all the money his last job was supposed to pay. furious didn’t cover it, and livid still seemed like an understatement. astor was in the mood to start some shit, and then have that shit kick his ass for having the nerve to start shit. the enjoyment on his end wasn’t even entirely sexual ( not to say it wasn’t at all ), but there was just something thrilling about going toe-to-toe with someone who wasn’t out for your death, but would put their all in trying to get you close. all he knew is that every now and then - he had a craving for VIOLENCE.

and he knew EXACTLY who he could goad into a fight. the two of them ran in similar circles, and those circles were small. and though astor could say he only knew zaiden from work, they’d run into enough times to have a sense of familiarity. enough for astor to know zaiden didn’t like to be fucked with, and for zaiden to know astor was going to do it anyways.

he came to a stop before the door that was his destination, thinking about how stupid this actually was, and how it wasn’t good how little he seemed to care for his own safety, or sanity.

Zaiden had never been one for dances, but considering the fact that Halloween was his favorite holiday, and the fact that he had no one to share it with, he figured he might as well play nice. After all, it was no fun enjoying the spookiest holiday of the year when all you could think about was the pair of brown eyes that seemed to be glaring at you from every witch way you turned. What was supposed to be a fun holiday for Zaiden was quickly turning into another gloom fest. In order to save what was left of this all hallows eve, he begrudgingly got dressed up, and left his house, seeking to find the owner of those dark daggers.

Whilst he vaguely had any idea who owned the large mansion that was hosting this Halloween Ball, it didn’t particularly matter to Zaiden, as he knew that Mary would be there, and he knew that she would not be expecting him. Upon entering the household he was offered a mask by someone walking around with loads of them, picking up a very intricate black and gold one, and putting it on. Looking around, there were too many people, too many smiling faces, even on Halloween, and everything seemed to make him cringe. Shuddering, he shook his head, waltzing through the building. Finally, when he saw her, he snuck up behind her, placing a hand on her shoulder. “You know people usually don’t come to these things alone.”

Life on the ground  is always a battle, every day  is a fight just to make it to the day that followed next.  It takes a strong spirit, a true fighter - a warrior - to survive life on the ground.

For Mira, she had been fighting fiercely since the day she was born, after losing her Nomon before even getting a chance to know her - her Nontu spoke fondly, that her Nomon’s fight went  straight into the tiny girl, giving her even more strength after her mother was lost giving life to her. Her father was a warrior - and Mira had two older brothers, from the first moment she remembers she had been trained - first it was a stick in her hand, and then it was a sword. 

The mountain took her family. Her oldest brother Jai was lost in a battle - and her father soon after was taken by them - never to be seen again. The Mountain is a vicious enemy that has haunted all grounders for generations - they have taken family and friends from many clans - not caring if they are parents or children. Mira lost much before she even reached Ten Summers Old, but her losses made her stronger and more determined to fight. Her only family left is her other big brother - Zaiden. When their father was taken, Zaiden took over - protecting and caring for his little sister - becoming a sekon to a warrior in Polis on the condition his sister could come along with him. The two children moved quickly after and while her brother learnt from the warrior - he quietly taught his sister whenever he got a chance.

Now Mira is older, her brother is older - no longer small children but now counted as warriors of Trikru. A few years after her brother - Mira was taken on as a Sekon as well, and although often driving her Fos crazy - as she has kept the curiousness she possessed as a small child still and enjoys asking questions - she also takes her duty as a Warrior seriously.

What is your character’s favorite memory?: When Juniper was 5, she completed her first book by herself, Her mom and dad were so proud they threw her a little party (you’ll see y it’s a big deal later)

Who and what would your character give their life for?:  Her dad, she would give or do anything for him. He always had her back just like how she will have his

What is your character’s greatest fear?: Going to prison...

What is your character’s proudest accomplishment?: Leaving home

What is your character’s #1 insecurity?: Getting attached to someone and they don’t feel the same way back

What will/can break your character completely?: It’s either between losing her dad or being rejected

What would your character make a scene in public about?: ..anything lol, uhhh idk really, food

What can drive your character to do criminal acts?: She enjoys the thrills so you wouldn’t have to force her

How close is your character with family and friends?: She has a bad relationship with her mother and sister. She likes her step-dad tho and her real dad is most important person to her. As for her friends, she isn’t very opened to many people but Carmen and Zaiden, plus two people back in Texas

How does your character react to pressure?: It really depends on her mood

How religious is your character (if they believe)?: Juniper isn’t very religious but does believe there’s someone/thing above 

How does your character’s personality change when someone gets uncomfortably close (relationship wise)?: (changing the question to comfortably close) Once she gets comfortable with a person she changes a lot, Juniper develops more into a understanding, loving person. She tends to be more affectionate but of course she has no problem beating someone up.

How does your character’s living space correlate with their personality?: Idk June likes wood .. so she has wood lmaoo..

How well does your character act around with unknown and different people?: She’s very sarcastic at first, then mean just to see if you can handle her sometimes rude out burst

How much does your character value money?: Well Juniper was born in a family struggling to maintain a middle-class lifestyle, she lived in a trail park... Money isn’t everything to her but maybe now it slightly is since she lives in the city.

How would this character cope with losing someone extremely close to them? She extremely quiet and distant.

How long does it take for your character to trust others? Not very long, usually the person has to say or do something for her to trust them

If your character could change one thing about themselves, what would they want to change?: Stop sleeping around with people, but she hasn’t done that in a while since she moved
