"who had every right to become the villian?"
Tumblr media
idc. this man went through SO. MUCH.
he wanted to be good. he was a good husband, he wanted to stay and raise his family. he wanted to be a good person.
and then all because he wanted to be a different kind of Rick, prime ripped all of that from him and made him into a fucking monster, which he had no other actual choice than to become.
c-137 deserves the world. he deserves to be a good person again. he deserves a therapist who cares. he deserves a family that genuinely wants him to change and do better.
he deserves the life he had before Prime ripped it from him.
he deserves fucking justice. everyone in his life failed him from the moment he lost Diane.

Thoughts on Rick Prime :3
Tumblr media
I’ve gotten two of these for Prime, so I’m going for two in one here! :p
Prime is such an interesting character to me. Not only is there so much we don’t know, but there’s so much we do know that only makes everything seem that much more twisted.
One of the first things I always think of when it comes to Prime is how he’s a literal child-killer and presumably feels nothing? I mean, he knows his own daughter is dead and couldn’t give two shits about it. I would also like to know more about the canon between Rick and Diane to get a full picture of what happened there. I’m one of the supporters of the theory that Rick and Prime were definitely fucking— and it’s obviously spicier with an affair. There’s just more motive there, too. It doesn’t matter if we think he meant to kill C-137 (since he was in the garage where the bomb dropped when Prime left, to be fair) or that he meant to kill Beth and Diane. That’s pretty personal either way…
I also like to think that Prime wasn’t an unfeeling monster, but more like a tortured ‘other woman.’ His whole speech is about getting C-137 to admit that Prime meant something to him. He wasted his dying breath on trying to get that admission. If you view it like that, it’s even pretty sad on Prime’s part. You have to feel pretty worthless to need someone’s validation to make you feel powerful.
It also makes sense as to why he’s so fixated on Diane (even more than other Ricks, in my opinion!). He literally lives in her shadow. He’s built his legacy in her name. She meant so much to him that he killed her everywhere, forever. That’s pretty romantic, coming from a Rick… At the end of the day, none of the Ricks seeking him out are doing so because he’s just badass in his own right. No. It’s still about her. No matter what he does, she’ll always haunt him. Prime can never outrun Diane.
Diane is the only thing C-137 can’t replace, and the only thing Prime can’t get rid of.
You can see how twisted his psyche is, and I’d love to play around with his thoughts some more. Tbh I need to write some Prime fics…

“Listen to me, you bi-bitch. I am not doing this for you, got-got it? I was challenged by someone, and I am not someone who loses and if you spoiled bitch call me an old man again, I’ll make you scream it, understand?”
Tumblr media
„What-what the actual fuck is this?!“
The whole Smith family was staring at the most recent weird event in their living room. A girl lying on their floor, alone and unconscious. It was obvious that she wasn’t an alien – judging by her appearance. Summer was focused on her outfit, Beth was checking if she still had a pulse and Jerry was being Jerry (useless).
“Morty – Morty you disgusting little shit! Did you buy a girl from space? Fucking pervert. I’m going to kill you!”, Rick’s voice echoed through the room, spit dripping from his mouth. His grandson instantly denied the accusations vehemently, saying that he is a pervert but not that kind of pervert. Rick was angry, furious even, someone like him – the smartest man alive – didn’t have time for shit like this.
“Um…Dad?”, Beth was holding a piece of paper in her hand instead of her usual glass of red wine, “It’s for you.”
“Wow, Grandpa Rick, maybe you were the one buying some girl like some creep.”
Rick narrowed his eyes at Summer’s remark. As if he would ever need to buy a girl at all. “Shut the fuck up, Summer, before I tell your mum where you hide your sh-shit.” That was enough to shut the redhead up and earn a disapproving look from Beth.
Quickly Rick snatched the note from his daughter’s fingers. A note – something so traditional…weirdly interesting.
Hello Rick C-137, Probably asking yourself why some girl is lying on your floor and why you’re reading a note right now. I’m not going to tell you shit though. Aren’t you the “smartest man” alive? The “rickest Rick”? You’re nothing more than an experiment to me and a dumber version of me anyway. I won’t tell you why she is in your dimension and your universe. I won’t tell you what experiment and what you should or should not achieve. Fuck, I won’t even tell you who she is or where she originated from. I also made sure that you won’t be able to track where she came from and on top of that you will never know who I actually am. Wait until she wakes up or wake her up yourself. I know damn well I piqued your interest, C-137.
He was right. The note did pique his interest, but it also pissed him off. Obviously, it was another Rick – an arrogant motherfucker who challenged Rick. “For f-fuck’s sake. What fucking bullshit is this”, his pale hand dragged down his face before he knelt down, right next to the stranger’s face.
“Wake the fuck u-up, dumb bitch. How can-can you sleep with everyone screaming.”
Dumb Bitch…Those words echoed through your head, jerking you awake. Who was this disrespectful to call you that? You blinked several times, the light from the lamps blinding you.
“O my God, Dad! She’s waking up.”
“Oh geez…I don’t think this is goi-going to end good.”
“I hope she’s cool like a new sister or something, Morty is like so annoying.”
Who was talking? Slowly your eyes adjusted to the new surroundings, and you were met with some old man staring into your soul. His scent was a mixture of alcohol, musk and after-shave. Not a bad smell at all.
“What…Where am I and who the fuck are you, old man?!”, the first thing you did was check your body. Missing limbs? Naked? Bruises? Chained up? No, everything seemed fine yet at the same time nothing was fine.
Your head felt like it was exploding, as if a belt was strapped around it and getting tighter and tighter. The room was unfamiliar just like the people around you. Everyone was screaming. Strangers. You could hear your heartbeat in your ears. Did they drug me? Your mouth was dry, as if you haven’t drunk any water in days. Did they kidnap me? Thousands of thoughts flooded your brain, and no answer was in sight. The room shrank and shrank and shrank. Why is everyone yelling? Who are these people? Where am I? I can’t breathe! I can’t-
Rick injected a needle into your neck, pushing a milky liquid into your system. You were having a panic-attack, and he didn’t have the nerves to deal with anymore shit thrown his way. Almost instantly the girl in front of his feet stopped shaking, your breath calmed down as well as your excessive sweating. Meanwhile Rick took a long look at you – you weren’t dirty or anything, the opposite in fact. Your hair was clean and shining while your clothes were spotless and on top of that you smelled phenomenal. A rich vanilla with an undertone of cherry, sweet and sultry.
“Wh-What did you in-inject her with, Rick?”
“Relax, Morty”, Rick rolled his eyes, “Just didn’t – didn’t want her to lose her shit. Give her a minute, we’ll be able to talk to her then.” Only Rick and the grandkids were left with you now. Beth had to go to work and Jerry was simply overstimulated, not being able to comprehend anything that happened in front of his eyes.
You took a deep breath and sat up; your eyes never left the tall, skinny frame of the older man. “Who are you guys…?”, your voice was timid, but your stare was stern.
“Rick, Morty, Summer. Y-You’re at our house. Don’t ask us why, you were probably tele-teleported here from someone who looks like me. We don’t know shit about you either, dumbass. Do we look like some human-traffickers to you? Another fucking dumbass.”
Suddenly it clicked – Rick Sanchez. You’ve seen his face all over the news again and again. Some mad scientist who was known for teleportation, universes and interdimensional traveling. And he was a fucking asshole. Morty and Summer were his grandkids. At least I know who they are.
“Now, tell me who you are”, Rick reached out and cupped your chin with his calloused fingers. His fingertips felt rough against your soft skin, you felt warmth creep up to your cheeks and spread across your face. With a hiss you slapped his hand away.
“My name is y/n. I’m 21 years old and a psych major at college. I will also be known as the girl who castrated you if you touch me again, old man.”
The last part earned a chuckle from Morty and Summer “Oh, Grandpa Rick got burned! I love you already, girl!” Their joy was short-lived though. Rick yelled at both of them, insulting them every way possible, demanding them to leave the fucking room before he feeds them to his alien-prisoners. Both complied to his command.
“F-fucking listen to me you wannabe mean girl bi-bitch. Some other Rick left a note-note for me, talking about some dumb ass experiment. What happened before you ended up here? Do you even know where you live or you wanna share a bed with this o-old man?”
“I live in….huh…Where do I live? I remember who I am but not a single thing about a family or a living space”, no matter how hard you tried you didn’t actually remember anything about your own life, “The last I recall before waking up is someone saying, “Last Chance, Sweetheart” and that someone sounded exactly like you.”
Tumblr media
“For fuck-fuck’s sake! I’m going crazy! I’m going to kill that motherfucking R-Rick!”
Two hours. Two hours passed and Rick tried everything to at least receive a single type of information, just anything. Nothing. Nothing worked. He tried to trace you back to your original universe – apparently you didn’t belong to any. He tried to find other versions of you – a big red error appeared. He couldn’t even extract past memories from your brain. Literally nothing has worked. He failed. Rick Sanchez, the smartest man on earth, failed.
“You know, maybe some memories will come back to me after some time. You don’t have to be yelling all the time…”, you were sitting on a chair, your elbows propped on his workbench and your hands cupping your face. Rick was in fact a weird guy – loud, rude but determined. After hours of listening to his drunken outbursts you just wanted some peace and quiet. Due to Rick kind of being famous on the internet you knew a thing or two about him and what his work was about. “I know you mean well and your actions could help me go back home…if I have a home, that is. You still need to chill though, old man.”
Once again you called Rick an old man. Is that girl serious? “You dumb little…”, you heard him growl as he turned around to face you. The burping, belching genius known was anything but amused. His typically wry grin twisted into a snarl of pure contempt, revealing a glint of madness in his eyes that sent shivers down your spine.
The furrows on his forehead deepened, accentuating the lines of his craggy face as he scowled, his brows knit together in a storm of frustration. His eyes, usually glazed with a combination of apathy and brilliance, now burned with a fiery intensity that could rival the brightest supernova in the universe.
“Listen to me, you bi-bitch. I am not doing this for you, got-got it? I was challenged by someone, and I am not someone who loses”, Rick made his way over to you. Slowly, like a predator nearing his prey. His hand gripped your chair to make you face him. You felt yourself push back into the seat. He was too close and you two were all alone in his garage. One hand was now next to your head while the other was gripping your thigh. You could feel his breath blowing against your now hot, blushed face, his musk clouding your senses, his hand burning into your skin. “And if you spoiled bitch call me an old man again, I’ll make you scream it, understand?”
“Listen to me, Rick old man Sanchez. I’m neither spoiled nor a bitch. And your pathetic attempt of whatever this is isn’t working.” Harsh words which didn’t match your bright red cheeks or beating heart. Your own body was betraying you. “Fuck you and fuck this garage. I’m going to chill with your grandkids.”
A smirk grazed Rick’s lips as you stood up and left without looking back. Interesting. Who knew that embarrassing you would be that much fun? You’re feisty, witty and bratty and not a bad sight to the eye.
“Ah, makes me want to tame that little girl.”

Rick and Morty Finale Theory’s/Predictions
inspired by posts by @fear-no-mort please check them out!!
The Freaky Morty Theory
The Freaky Morty Theory is that at some point either during or after episode 5, Evil Morty switched places with Morty Prime. There are some actual bases for this, and users have been collecting a decent amount of possible evidence for this reveal!
- Morty acting almost pre-season 4, like a Morty that hasn’t properly interacted with a Rick in a while
-Flinching significantly more then usual. In a flashback it implies Evil Mortys Rick was abusive which checks out
-the smug look. Don’t get me wrong Morty also has a chronic resting bitch face and smug I told you so look, but it has been a lot more prominent in the last couple of episodes
There’s a lot more to this but the basis is somehow they switched, and the season finale would be the time for the reveal.
If you are interested, @sadiecoocoo and @glitteringcrab have much more in-depth stuff about it!
personally, I want this theory to be true. It opens a lot of doors and would be a fantastic cliffhanger and segway to a more Morty-oriented episode or season.
Ricks Deepest Fears
His Fear Of Morty
Ok, so there are a lot of ways this can go. But here's in my opinion the most likely avenue;
Rick would absolutely never admit it, but part of Morty scares him. We see it on his face during the Purge episode, and more frequently during the last few seasons. But I think the reason he dogs on Morty and tries to keep his confidence low is because Rick knows how dangerous he can be when motivated enough. Morty is more aware than most and Rick picks up on that. He is scared one day Morty will grow up to be like him, bitter and angry. He sees it in him now and can't blame anyone else. Now with everything with Prime, I think Rick fears Morty will grow up not just like him, but like Rick Prime specifically. He'll get angry and lash out, do something drastic in revenge for all the ways Rick has wronged Morty throughout the years. Morty will realize what he's capable of and leave, and Rick couldn't really blame him.
His fear of Rick Prime
This one is probably what's gonna happen. Since Rick definitely didnt get closure from killing Prime, this could be his chance. To get over his fear of Rick Prime, of what he represents and what he is capable of. This episode might be his chance to a means to an end.
His fear of losing everyone else
Another huge one would be his fear of the Smith family dying the same way his family did. Rick has kind of detached himself but it’s no secret that he cares. He’s especially fond of the version of the Smiths he lives with now. Even admitting Summer reminds him of Diane. To lose them would absolutely devastate him. Maybe this episode will be him trying to finally heal from his fear of losing everything all over again and being alone.
Mortys Deepest Fears
His fear that Rick will kill him too.
Now I know how this sounds, but I thought, that would be interesting to see if one of Morty's fears is that Rick C-137 tries to kill him. Now I know that sounds out of character since WE know Rick would never but think about it, it’s not said but almost implied he probably could have fixed the prime universe from being Cronenberg but chose not to because it wasn’t his family, it was Primes. And I think Morty is smart enough to figure that out once he found out Prime was really his Rick.
He also compared Morty to his biological Rick multiple times, then basically beat his biological Rick to death with Morty to practically witness it. Now obviously Morty doesn’t blame Rick for hating Rick Prime and frankly Morty doesn’t seem to like Rick Prime either. But subconsciously I wonder if he thinks he’s the last strand, that Rick will one day finish what he started. it’s pretty clear C-137 would absolutely never actually kill him, but could you imagine him finding out Morty fears him
His fear of being alone
Morty has become detached in the past few seasons, and you can’t really blame him. His own Jerry seemed to get frustrated when he offered to get him a “new” Beth and Summer. Like they were toys he could just swap out. But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t care. He does. He defends Summer and his parents. His love is like a dog, it’s unconditional so no matter what he still loves Rick even after everything he put him through. So he was angry and upset when he left. Even afterwards, when Summer brought up”The Crow Thing” Morty got visibly upset. He even tried to manipulate Rick to come back. If a representation of that comes up, this could be a chance for him to give faith to Rick and his family that he won’t be left behind.

...So, uh...
...You guys remember how the most common fan theory about Evil Morty before S6E01 was that he was Rick C-137's original Morty?
Obviously, after S6E01 that theory went out the window, because it was revealed that Rick C-137's Beth died as a child (so Rick C-137 couldn't have his own Morty). In turn, Evil Morty's familiarity with the Citadel's Morty Market and cloning process and the facts that he was enlisted in a Morty Agency and seemed like he had no home to return to, point towards him being a clone Morty.
HOWEVER.
It's still possible Evil Morty is "Rick C-137's Morty", in a way...
...if he originated from a batch of clones that were created using Morty Prime's DNA and memories, that is.
Given that Rick C-137 created the Citadel, and depending on why exactly Morty DNA was necessary to bring down the Central Finite Curve...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
...and why "it's complicated"...
Tumblr media
... it's theoretically possible Rick C-137 used Morty Prime's DNA and memories to kickstart the Morty Market.
So there might be a batch of clone Mortys who were identical to Morty Prime in every way up until the time the series starts, that is.
Now, while I absolutely LOVE the possibility of Evil Morty being a literal clone nobody who managed to rise above the ranks through sheer determination, instead of him being "a copy of the protagonist"...
...I also like this theory, because of its implications on Morty Prime's capabilities and Evil Morty's well-masked emotions.
Of course, whether this specific theory is true or not, Evil Morty is still a "Morty", and therefore the above mentioned implications still hold true. However, we've seen various "small" differencies among the Mortys from different dimensions/different clone Mortys (eg a girl Morty, Morty with Glasses, fat/left handed Morty, etc) which open the possibility of Evil Morty really being more cruel or capable than Morty Prime. Therefore, those two having the exact same DNA, memories and personality up to the point the series starts would make the implications hit THAT MUCH HARDER.
However, I would absolutely HATE this theory if it were to really influence any characters' decisions in the show. I mean, I don't mind this revelation triggering Morty Prime's self-reflection or something, but I would hate it if the reason Evil Morty asked Morty Prime to come with was "we're the same person" instead of "he's also sick of Rick and has been kind to other Mortys and I don't want to be alone".
Likewise, I'd hate it if Rick C-137 was ever to help Evil Morty in the future and the reason he decided to help were to be "he's a copy of the specific version of my grandson that I love, the specific version of my grandson that I love could be in his place" instead of "this is a very hurt child and the creation of the Morty Market is partially my fault".
Or if the reason Evil Morty didn't try to kill Rick C-137 when he escaped the Citadel was because "he's my grandpa" instead of "his death will bring me no satisfaction, as I know from experience, and I have better things to do, like escaping".
Or if Morty Prime is forced to confront his own dark tendencies because of a metaphorical ugly mirror placed in front of him in the shape of an evil clone, instead of him pondering over the actual violence he has personally committed.
That being said, them being literal copies of each other would explain the following stuff, which however I want to stress also have other possible explanations:
The strange lingering look Evil Morty gives Morty Prime in this scene (assuming he already knew whose Morty he was a copy of, which admittedly we have no indication is a thing that clone Mortys know) (and his look could also be triggered by the anti-Rick stuff Morty Prime had said up to that point)
Tumblr media
"There's our guy" (lol) (also possibly Evil Morty simply being ironic, given that "Rick had two Mortys" in this adventure, and that Evil Morty pretended to be Rick C-137's Morty for part of the fight)
Tumblr media
Morty Prime's stats in the attribute slider (also possibly explained if all Mortys are actually smart and charismatic, which, you know what, they probably are)
Tumblr media
The CFC universe Evil Morty is latched on could very well be the very Universe Morty Prime currently lives in, because I suspect if a Rick was to ever search for him using his unique genetic/dimensional/whatever signature the presence of Morty Prime might make it seem like a false positive lol. (And it would be HILARIOUS if he's hiding under their very noses).
Tumblr media
ANYWAY I wrote this theory but I want Morty Prime and Evil Morty to be ACTUAL FRIENDS, not their relationship to be reduced to "he's a copy of me, so I'll be more understanding". I don't mind if this theory is true, I just don't want it to matter in the plot.
...I still prefer the theory of Evil Morty being a literal clone nobody though.

here's how the freaky mortys theory can still win. (aka, what i'm calling the friendly mortys theory.)
(carrying over a lot of connections made by @trucknoisettes and @glitteringcrab)
so, its no secret that evil morty tends to play up his 'mortyness' when he needs to appear innocent. most recently seen in unmortricken, where he pretends to be morty prime and the first words out of his mouth are "aw jeez".
its also no secret that morty's been ping-ponging a bit between s1/2 personality and s5/6 personality.
i posit that the moments where he's seen acting more like the cliche morty is the moments where its actually evil morty overcompensating, and the moments where he actually acts like morty prime are, yknow, morty prime.
this would, of course, require that they be swapping places off-screen throughout season 7.
or, and this is where i get full tinfoil-hat, theyve been doing it even longer than that.
while rick was off having his anime crow arc in season 5, morty was doing... something. the show doesnt really dwell on it, except mention that morty was on the citadel at some point. its entirely possible that morty got to talking with people on the citadel, maybe even making some friends. maybe one of those friends just so happened to be the president.
evil morty didnt have a clear reason to invite our rick and morty to dinner before he destroyed the citadel. i doubt that he had a soft spot for rick c-137, but maybe, just maybe, he had a soft spot for morty prime. the morty who stood up to his rick and had been complaining about being left by him only a few days ago.
obviously morty hadn't known EM's actual plan. he probably didnt know too much about EM at all. but there's no way that EM, the character who just wants to be alone, would invite a total stranger along with him out of the cfc.
but no. morty declined.
what if the second seat wasnt a toilet. what if he had built a second seat in order to take morty with him, but lied to protect his reputation.
so imagine, our morty, morty prime is reeling from everything that happened. and as horrified as he is, maybe he also understands. just a little bit.
and evil morty, he built his base, he's finally left alone, but maybe he's also a bit lonely. after all, the robot butler also clearly was programmed for conversation.
so, maybe partway through season 6, evil morty talks to morty prime. they make up. they agree to switch places on occasion. after all, morty needs a break from all the bullshit sometimes, and EM is probably curious what morty's family, and indeed rick c-137, is actually like.
and so when evil morty comes to that base where rick and morty are, morty obviously isnt going to act like they know each other. so he overcompensates just like EM can, but in the other direction.
like, come on, can you really believe that morty prime would act like that with no provocation? he may have a violent side, but it doesnt just come out of nowhere. and yes, the blood vortex was horrifying, but clearly EM isnt here to attack either of them right now.
now, if he was, say, exaggerating his dislike of EM so rick wouldnt get suspicious, then this makes a lot more sense. morty's not really a good liar! in fact, they could even be swapped right then! this seems more like what EM would say in this situation, doesnt it?
now, while i was reading @trucknoisettes unmortricken analysis, i was wondering why morty would jump from being openly hostile to EM to agreeing to temporary mind control, but if the hostility was all an act? if he already had some precedent for trusting EM? well, a whole lotta things start making sense.
so, to summarize this wild speculation:
- evil morty and morty prime have been friends since after season 5 episode 9
- at some point in season 6, evil morty made up with morty off-screen.
- after making up, the two of them started switching places on occasion throughout season 6 and 7
- morty prime's hostility to evil morty in 7.5 was an act
and perhaps ive taken a few too many liberties, but yknow. i'm here to have fun and ship evil morty x morty not make perfect sense.

What makes C-137 Rick different in the eyes of Evil Morty? A simple list.
I had this drafted around when the episode came out and I hadn't finished it, sooooo here you go heh:
This is arguably a pretty obvious set of answers, I'm not making any big deep dives here or anything, but I felt curious enough in wanting to see some kind of realized list of how many ways our Rick is different from his counterparts, specifically to the eyes of Evil Morty, that's to say, within the show, what kind of interactions have made Evil Morty slowly chip away in his absolute ideas about our Rick specifically.
Contains content since season 1, but mostly Season 7 due to the amount of interactions.
Bullet point is the actual list, indented is additional, but optional, context I deemed valuable:
C-137 Crying: Obviously the first would be Evil Morty - through Evil Rick - seeing our Rick cry when seeing baby Morty, even if we don't have that explained yet, this genuine care that shocked E-M this much was only reinforced in Season 7 when Rick, just before going to hunt Rick Prime told Morty he "couldn't go", evidently so that he stays safe.
Tumblr media
This is extra reinforced when Evil Morty and Morty Prime join Rick against our big bad, E-M throws an insult right away expecting the reason for Rick's frustration to be "they did something cool and I didn't" (a jump cut), but no, C-137 only says... "You brought Morty???"
Tumblr media
Evil Morty is a Morty registered within the Council's data base, he's been passed around, probably adopted by various Ricks, of whom clearly view that service as a tool to reinforce their detachments. Even if there is a petty and truly emotional reason underneath the existence of such a program, the Morties in those centers only see the very worst of Rick, because that's who they are paired up with, they only see how disposable they are every single time, time and time again.
C-137's respect of Evil Morty: Right away as S7EP5 begins, and E-M joins in with our duo, he's immediately greeted with what I am willing to bet is a different kind of attitude, one of respect. Rick is not dissmisive of Evil Morty, granted he knows his capabilities, however he even compliments Evil Morty on his journey to fucking off, a life style he very much enjoys - supposedly, but still - this is reinforced the moment Evil Morty suggests the modifications to the fracking machine, one which Rick takes notice of an implements right away, no insult attached interestingly enough.
Tumblr media
That respect is also seen after Rick connects the dots with Evil Morty being responsible for hacking his Portal gun, back in Season 5, a detail which most Rick's would've arrogantly shrugged off by underestimating Morty. I am not saying respect can't be earned from other Ricks, after all he was president, but I am focusing the basis of this on Evil Morty's absolutist mindset regarding how Ricks are meant to be.
Teamwork: Although Rick points out the same logic we as the audience and fans did in theories prior to Season 7, regarding the assumption Evil Morty would hate Rick Prime more than our Rick because he's even worse, the actual teamwork simply plays out naturally, first through circumstance, but then by convenience. Nonetheless in each step Rick is once again cooperative with Evil Morty, treating him like an equal in a way that I think we haven't really ever seen before besides Beth, and sorta Summer.
Tumblr media
I feel it's no small detail that E-M's first instinct after grabbing the Portal guns they were quickly tinkering with to escape the box was "don't freak out", the subsequent lack of freaking out also reinforces all of the shit I'm repeating myself on haha, again list of the obvious remember?
And finally the most obvious: C-137's goals are focused on avenging his Wife, as we well know. This singular detail already places him on a different bracket of existence as Rick's aren't meant to care for anyone other that themselves, even if this goal was the reason that fueled Rick's cooperation, signs of respect and more towards Evil Morty, he still did them... That would also technically place the other trapped Ricks, like Nerd Rick or James Bond Rick, as other challengers in Evil Morty's views.
Tumblr media
This is how Evil Morty finally showed a crack in his absolutist views about Ricks.
"You are a little different, Rick..."
Tumblr media
Maybe I can use that someday...

Is Prime's arc really over?
I mean, he's dead alright, no doubt in that, and tbh I sort of hope that he will not be brought back to life. But. BUT.
This is a long ass rant. If you open it, it's on you.
Even in the last confrontation between Prime and C-137 we didn't really get any solid confirmations of Prime and C-137 origin story. We know they've met, we know Prime showed C-137 "infinity" (in his own words) and killed C-137's family, which resulted into C-137 trying to hunt him down, but except those facts confirmed and explained in s6ep1, s7ep3, s7ep5, nothing else was. Not the real meaning of their conversation in the garage, not even the fact of this garage meet-up being the first time they've met, and also not the meaning of Prime's words that he misses it when there were only two of them.
Both Mortys seem to buy everything Evil Morty extracted from C-137's memories (Evil Morty is confident in his tech and Prime Morty is just like that lol), but can we really trust that those memories are intact? What if, just like with Federation, Rick kept main points of events, but changed the details or timeline, that can potentially flip the meaning or change the tone of said events?
The most confusing part in relation to the timeline for me is Prime's slips during his rants: "I do miss when it was just us. The only two Rick's who actually invented portal travel", especially combined with "I showed you infinity".
It makes sense in two possible situations: if Prime showed C-137 the portal tech ("showed you infinity"), offered it, was rejected, left, killed his family and then was actively fucking with C-137 during the first hunt (which can explain the "miss when it was just us" line) OR if Prime showed him the portal tech, C-137, being inspired, also invented the portal travel, and then he and Prime were on friendly terms for some time after that, travelling together or each on their own with random meet-ups, until Prime offered him something else, which C-137 declined. Then everything else followed.
And honestly? IMO, first option doesn't line up. We never saw clones or decoys of Prime during C-137's first hunt in the crybaby backstory, no mocking images of Diane, nothing that could possibly indicate that Prime was actively playing with him. We also see other Ricks owning portal technology during young C-137's run, so there already weren't "just two of us", only in the very beginning maybe. Prime obviously watched C-137 to keep track on him and his whereabouts and shenanigans, but we don't see him making any moves himself, interacting with C-137 in any way. So what's there to miss at all?
Let's look at the second option. What's really interesting about it is how Prime's words "I showed you infinity" can be interpreted in two ways that are not mutually exclusive - as in showing interdimensional travel or showing something entirely else, possibly even bigger. Like something that was supposed to create "Infinite Rick, a GOD", which was mentioned in the 'falce' memory in 03x01 together with another interesting line: "Once we give you this technology, you become the smartest man in the universe". Since we know that Rick uses his own memories to fool people, it's entirely possible that these lines are real, they sound real, like something Prime could say. But.
But how simply owning a technology makes you the smartest man in the universe? The answer is - it doesn't. You just own it. You don't become smarter because you get your hands on a sci-fi tech, unless it alters your own mind/brain to make you smarter, and portal travel doesn't work like that.
This is just a theory based on the altered memory of Rick C-137, but what if Rick Prime wasn't just giving out portal tech, but was actively doing almost the same thing Evil Morty have done - absorbing every possible knowledge of every Rick he encountered, maybe connecting them in some kind of a web instead of killing them, so he could cover his presence not using a Morty, but creating virtual clones of himself everywhere in all those Ricks? Maybe that's what he was tempting C-137 with - infinite knowledge of infinite Rick. Unite every single one of them, make them bigger than the universe, make them THE GOD in every sense possible.
Only that it can cost you everything. Cost you your humanity. Change you ultimately, make you so much above any other being, that it will eventually sound lonely. So Rick C-137 declined.
It's just a random ass theory. But how does it sound?

I love Rick (obviously), so I'm not going to get on here and say "Nooo stop making episodes about my favorite character!!", but the series feels imbalanced without Morty. I mean, if nothing else, he's also part of Rick's lore. He's Prime's grandson. You could do a lot with that: Morty shows similarities to Prime, Morty teams up with Prime (don't know why he would, but it's possible), Prime kidnaps him to bait C-137, etc. Maybe there's even another twist about Morty and his connection to Prime that we don't know about.
But that's not the only reason Morty's important--he has his own issues and internal conflicts that he needs to face. Unfortunately, he's currently stuck in a cycle of blowing up in one episode, then shutting down in the next. He might not have "lore" like Rick (or maybe he does, I wouldn't be shocked if we get another Morty-related twist before the series ends), but he's still valuable because he's a human being. And he's literally the other half of the show!

Glorious Purpose
Rick Sanchez x Diane
Summary: After Evil Morty goes through all the files in Rick Prime's brain, he discovers there is one remaining Diane that Rick Prime created in hopes of one day killing her in front of C-137 to taunt him. Evil Morty makes Rick aware of the situation and decides to use the mind-blowers helmet to show this Diane the memories he has of them together.

Diane was getting ready with her friend Rena at her apartment. It was Friday and after a long week filled with the stress of university and work she was ready to go out. They were both sitting on her bed, doing their makeup using the mirrors of several pallets. Ranting back and forth to each other about how irritating life was. Diane just started her sophomore year of college and was content with everything going on in her life. Grades were so promising that she was expected to graduate early, she was financially stable, and for once had an amazing friend group. She ran the straightener through her long blonde hair, making sure to spray down any flyaways. After announcing that the flatiron was available, she took the blunt and stood up, examining her appearance in the mirror that was attached to the closet door. She was wearing a pink pleated mini skirt and a white tee shirt that she purposely bought too small, it was cropped and didn’t go much farther than her second or third rib. It had the word CUNT in pink sparkly font and to complete the look she slipped her pink platform pump heels onto her feet.
“You’re so fucking hot bitch,” her friend Tina said, standing beside her and taking a few pictures with her.
“We both are,” Diane said, pulling out her phone and realizing they should have ordered the Uber 45 minutes ago.
After ordering, they stood outside and smoked the remainder of the blunt. Diane got mad at Rean for dropping it onto her shoe but ended in laughter. The car ride was nice, they had a woman driver who complimented her nails and was amazed you could get duck nails to be so long. She was an older lady which made the interaction that much more sweet. They were dropped off in front of the entrance, where they waited in line, passing a pen back and forth with each other. Once they got their IDs checked by the bouncer, they made a b-line for the bar. Both ordered two shots of vodka each, downing them back to back. This bar was Diane’s favorite because, unlike a lot of today’s clubs, people actually danced. Not just standing around against a wall with their face buried in their phone. They also didn’t only play Hot 100s which is refreshing. They continued dancing with each other till the liquor kicked in.

Rick was sitting in the garage, tinkering with a device Jerry asked him to make that will keep certain bugs from fucking with his plants. He set it down and stared at the wall for a second, ever since killing Rick Prime he’s been feeling like shit. Making him question if he was just using him to fill the void of no longer having Diane. Now that purpose and mission have been completed, what will occupy that need for purpose? Alcohol? Evil Morty coming through a portal into the garage broke Rick out of his numb dissociation. Morty came into the room at the same time, creating a wonderful little family reunion.
“I need to show you something,” Evil Morty said flatly.
“The same way I need both of you to get the fuck out of here,” he grumbled.
“I went through Rick Prime’s brain files. He used the Omega Device on Diane but he found an existing pair of her parents. He locked them in the equivalent of a hamster cage and waited for them to produce a Diane. He was going to kill her in front of your Rick but obviously, we killed him before we could. I found the planet she’s living on, I don’t care what you do but considering you spent your whole life avenging her you might as well know,” Evil Morty said.
“You’re lying, it’s probably a trap to lure inferior Ricks into a death trap,” Rick said, chugging the entirety of his flask and then refilling it.
“I checked it out, I really don’t think it’s a baitline. He drew up blueprints of the location he was going to build to lure you and kill her,” he said, tossing the hard drive on his table.
“If I get there and she’s not there, I’m killing both of you and bring you back to life over and over again and use that to fill the void of having no purpose,” Rick spat at Evil Morty as he opened the yellow portal,
“Yeah yeah, Loki called he wants his character arch back,” Evil Morty said. ‘
“Did he s-say both of us?” Morty C-137 asked as they all walked through the portal.

Diane was currently bent over with her ass pressed against Rena as they danced to Bossy feat. Too $hort by Kelis. It was that point of the night when nothing seems real anymore and everyone’s morals began to loosen up. A blunt was hanging from her lips, she turned around so that she was facing Rena. Drunkenly deciding to have one more shot, practically skipping to the bar. Instead of getting a shot, she ended up getting a vodka cherry cocktail. She chugged the entire thing after Rena dared her to. Before returning to the dance floor, she made her way to the restroom. She was so intoxicated she didn’t even both hovering, she let her body plop down on the seat. She let her purse sit in her lap as she sat with her eyes closed for a while. This was the first weekend she had off all month, so the liquor was hitting harder than usual. Not to mention the only thing she ate that day was a chicken caesar salad at lunch. She finished her business and pulled out her phone to check how she looked, applying some lip gloss and fixing her hair before flushing. As she stood up, she stumbled a bit but sat her ass right back down when she saw a yellow glowing from outside the stall.
“If you’re fucking with me right now I-” she heard a hoarse male voice grumble from outside the door.
“Rick if I wanted to fuck with you I wouldn’t have helped you kill Rick Prime,” another young-sounding voice spoke.
Diane was really nervous, especially because she was sure it was a man’s voice. She figured that Rena was waiting for her right outside so if she ran maybe she wouldn’t have interacted with the creep at all. Taking a deep breath in she opened the stall door and was taken back by what she saw. It was an older man with blue hair standing in front of you, tears were welding in his eyes creating an intense look on his face.
“Is uh- is that Diane? Rick, you never said s-she looked like-” Morty said before being interrupted.
“I’m going to take him home, looks like you’re gonna have an amazing time here,” Evil Morty said before dragging the other Morty into a portal by his shirt.
“How do you know my name?” you asked, thoroughly confused and starting to wonder if your drink was spiked. He continued to stare, almost like he was in disbelief. He took a step towards her which made you step back into the stall.
“Dude what the fuck are you doing?” she asked.
“I’m sorry,” he said.
Seriously back-” Before she could finish, he blew some type of mist into her face. It immediately impacted her, making her slowly start to lower herself to the ground. Rick grabbed her which made her freak out a bit, like she was trying to get away but becoming too sedated to fight back.
“It’s okay, I’m here,” he said, almost whispering. She bawled her hand into a fist and hit his chest weakly before passing out.
When she woke up she couldn’t figure out where she was. Looking around at the random bed and the fact that she wasn’t wearing her clothes scared her. She was in a blue long sleeve that she was drowning in. Tears welled in her eyes, she looked over and saw her original clothes neatly folded in a pile near the bed. After wiping her eyes, not caring about the old makeup on her eyes, she went to open the door but found that it was locked. She started kicking and punching at it, hoping it would eventually give way. Starting to have a full-blown panic attack, she grabbed her heel and used it to bang on the door. This continued until Rick came through the door, which caused Diane to take a few steps back.
“Let me out of here you fucking creep!” she yelled throwing her heel toward him, he didn’t even flinch because the throw was so bad.
“I don’t want to hurt you,” he spoke in a soft yet firm voice.
“I don’t give a fuck what you want- oh my fucking- is this guy fucking serious? You fucking kidnapped me!” she cried, running over to grab the other heel.
“I understand that this is confusing but I have a device that can help you understand,” Rick said, holding the mindblowers helmet in his hands. At this point, she was feeling so deranged as if she could explode at any moment, “I invented this device that can show you depictions of someone’s memories, I loaded my own on here so you could-” Diane interrupted by charging at him, armed with her heel. He dodged her so that he was behind her and put the mindblowers helmet on her, then waited.
The first memory was of the first time they met, both lived in the same neighborhood and went to the same school. That being said, they never really interacted with each other. Rick was similar to Morty in high school, quiet and awkward. Not to mention their extracurricular activities were polar opposites, she was a cheerleader and on the swim team. Rick was looking to be valedictorian and although he wasn’t very athletic, he had his charming moments. He gained confidence especially throughout his senior year from all the praise his teachers gave him. This is what led to Rick asking Diane on a date, she said yes because she secretly had her eye on him for a while. She always knew he was different but not in a superficial way. She liked how observant he was, most of the guys she was around talked about their health. Bragging about the stupidest things, like how much they could bench and how much alcohol was accessible to them. Those same boneheads were ready to fight if someone breathed wrong in their direction. There was one time when Rick accidentally bumped into one of the football players. As the jock cussed out Rick, who then walked up to Diane and asked her to hang out after the football game.
“Hey um, I know you’re on the cheer team but maybe after the football game we could get some takeout?” Rick asked, standing stiffly with his hands in his pockets.
“That actually sounds really nice, I have to run but, I’ll see you then,” she replied with a small smile on her face.
When Diane was at the game, she kept looking for Rick in the bleachers. He didn’t show up until the last 20 minutes of the game. When they made eye contact, she practically jumped in the air and waved with a big smile on her face. As they did their routine, she couldn’t help but stare as she danced. Seeing how intensely he was giving her a feeling she never felt before. Finally, the game ended and she gathered her sports bag and met him in the parking lot. He was leaning up against an old pickup truck. He not only opened her door but also put her bag in the backseat for her. She was still in her uniform and only then did she notice how short the skirt was. It was a stick shift and she thought it was hot watching him maintain conversation while operating the car. They stopped at Wendy’s and then made their way back to Dianne’s house, her dad worked night and her mom was always passed out by 9 pm. The first time Rick came into her room, she felt more embarrassed than ever. Normally when her little girlfriends came over, she felt really proud of her bedroom. When she showed Rick, it felt like she was showing an intimate and private. He set his food and backpack down and you excused yourself to change. While she was gone, he looked around the room for a bit. The walls of the room were navy blue and her curtains and bedspread were baby pink. He took in the little details like all the cosmetics she had scattered about on her vanity. The Beatles posters and other magazine cut-outs were stuck to the wall. The way her room smelled like vanilla or the white cat that lay at her windowsill, it hissed at Rick when he sat next to him. That was when Diane came back out wearing a short babydoll nightgown that had matching bloomer shorts. Her blonde hair was still down but she’d washed the make-up off her face, letting her freckles show.
“Is this okay?” she asked, playing with her hands, Rick didn’t speak. Instead, he shook his head, closed her agape mouth, and pulled his burger out of the paper bag.
You’d think they would have initiated some type of sexual act but instead, they talked for hours while sitting on her bed. He opened up about the difficult relationship between him and his father. She explained how her mother is crazy and they can’t go more than 5 hours without screaming at one another. They talked about future goals and career paths. They ended up falling asleep well, Diane did with her head lying on Rick’s chest. He stayed up, rubbing her back and admiring her face as she slept. It was too easy just to say he found her attractive, he liked that every guy talked about her. He liked that every girl wanted to be her. The way she wasn’t just a pretty face, she could hold a conversation and had goals beyond just being a mother and wife. Sometimes at night, he would get angry while thinking about her being with some other guy. They wouldn’t love her the way he did, they wouldn’t care about her mind and well-being like he could.
One night, Rick was doing his homework when the phone rang. It was 1971 so it was a push-button phone. Because there was no way to see a color ID, Diane would only let the phone ring twice before hanging up, singling to Rick that she was on the other line. Rick picked up the phone, happy to hear her voice until he actually did. She was crying, he could hear her mother screaming in the background. They’d been together for the past 6 months and Rick knew all about the relationship between Diane and her Mother. Her mother was Russian and really strict, a lot of the time she would throw the sacrifices she made in Diane’s face. Both her older brothers moved out and had families, so with only the two of them left at home, it was like a war zone. Maybe Rick was biased but Diane’s mother was over-critical of the 18-year-old. She did everything in hopes of impressing her mother but to no avail.
“Rick? I need you to pick me up right now. I can’t be here anymore!” she cried into the receiver.
“I’m on my way, I’ll be there soon just hang tight okay? I love you,” he said, his heart pounding out of his chest.
“Okay, I love you too but please just hurry okay?” she asked, her voice quivering.
“I’m coming baby,” he said, hanging the phone back on its receiver.
He grabbed his keys and coat, putting his shoes on before leaving. Before walking out the front door, he stared at his dad, who was passed out on the couch. He didn’t even bother taking his shoes or tie off, he shook his head in disgust before heading out. It was raining pretty hard, he turned the heater on before making his way to Diane’s. She only lived about a ten-minute drive from Rick’s house. Pulling into the driveway and honking to let her know he arrived. Diane came out, putting a couple of her bags into the backseat. Her mother followed her, screaming in Russian. He knew Diane was mad because she was screaming in a mixture of English and Russian, her face was red and tears streamed down her cheeks. Hair was soaked from walking back and forth from her house to Rick’s car. He just watched making sure nothing got too physical between the two of them. Once she packed the last of her things in the car, she approached her mother who was standing on the porch, laughing at her. Rick cringed as he heard the taunting cackling coming from the older women.
“He’ll leave, you think the world is a fairytale place. You think you’ve found  prince who will build castle. Shower you will jewels and riches you’re blinded by desperation. He will use you, and you’ll let him because you have no brain, beauty is not enough to keep man anymore,” her mother spat.
“Just because Dad left you doesn’t mean I can’t find a man who will love me for real!” Diane said, more like screamed at her mother.
“Your father left because of you, I made him happy, I did everything right. It wasn‘t until you come that he leave and drink!” her mother screamed.
“I hate you, fuck you seriously you drove everyone away and then blame everyone but yourself, God you’re just such a cunt!” Diane screamed so loud that neighbors began coming outside.
“Go be with prince, go get pregnant, you’ll see how he loves you when pregnancy strips you of beauty,” her mother laughed as she slammed the door on Diane. She just stood there, she was completely soaked from the rain, and black mascara tears ran down her face staining her cheeks. She screamed at the door, just stood and screamed. Rick went and put his coat over her shoulder and directed her to the car. She was hysterical, not even comprehending what Rick was saying as he tried consoling her. He drove her back to his house, she was shivering and sobbing loudly. Rick was driving with one hand because she was death gripping his other arm, crying into her sleeve. He finally got her to calm down enough so they could sneak past his dad. He carried her inside, she clung onto him like he was going to disappear out of thin air. Bringing her to his room, when he set her down to go get her stuff from the car.
“No, please just stay here, please don’t go!” she cried, holding onto one of his hands with both of hers.
“I left the car on and I have to get your stuff, I’ll be right back,” he said, she didn’t protest but he also had to pry her hand off his arm to go.
He managed to get all her stuff on the first trip. When he got back upstairs, he sat on the floor for a while with Diane consoling her. After she’d calmed down for the most part, she wanted to take a shower. He had a bathroom attached to his room and got everything ready for her. He let her know everything was good to go but she wanted him to join her. He shook his head in agreement but couldn’t form any words. They’d been intimate before but never fully nude or actual intercourse. She got in before he did, and nervously he joined her amazed at what he saw. She was so statuesque, like the women in Playboy magazines. Her skin was so soft and it glistened as the water ran down her curves. She turned around to make eye contact with him, shamelessly looking down at his package before fluttering her eyes up again. When he imagined this moment he thought it would have been more sexy and intense but it wasn’t. Instead, they just sat in the water embracing each other’s skin. Even when her eyes were closed you could see how swollen they were from crying. They stayed there till the water got cold, Rick cut off the water and helped her out of the shower. He didn’t know what she would want from her stuff, so he gave her one of his shirts and a pair of boxers and socks. He even brushed her hair so it wouldn’t get matted as she slept.
“Do you think she’s right, do you think I’m the reason my dad left?” she asked, her voice getting lighter and cracking towards the end.
“You’re dad left because he was a pussy and didn’t want to own up to his responsibilities,” he said, crawling into bed with her.
“Promise? That she’s wrong,” she asked looking up at him, he knew she wasn’t talking about her dad anymore.
“I would only leave you if I died,” he said, pressing his forehead into her. She kissed him until her lips were swollen and hurting.
Ever since that night, they were completely inseparable. Everyone rolled their eyes, thinking there was no way they would last. They assumed Diane would leave Rick for a more mainstream athletic guy but she didn’t. He went to all of her swim meets and she supported him with all his college applications and the stress of his job. He worked as a paid apprentice for a watch store, it wasn’t the most exciting job but they were happy. The time between then and graduation seemed to fly by. Rick was valedictorian and Diane had to beg him to wear something nice underneath his gown. They ended up going to college together at Stanford, living in an off-campus apartment. He was trying to earn his Bachelor of Science while she was working on becoming a veterinarian. This is when the honeymoon phase ended and things started getting more domestic. Even though things were different, it didn’t mean things were bad.
One night after she’s eaten with Rick at the dining room table. He was still there, shoveling forkfuls of meatloaf and mashed potatoes into his mouth. He was working on his homework, his brow  Every now and again wiping his hands so he could use his abacus. As she finished up the dishes, her body was practically shaking with anticipation. Diane had been saving up for months to buy Hewlett-Packard’s first scientific calculator.
“Look, baby, it adds and subtracts obviously but it can also compute logarithms, exponents, AND, trigonometric functions. It’s called the HP-35, God it looks so cool I wish I could get it,” he said, showing Diane the newspaper ad.
“Well why can’t you?” she asked.
“It’s 395 dollars,” he laughs.
“Oh,” she said, turning her head back to the TV.
She saved up enough money, working as a vet tech to buy it for him. He’d recently proposed, and the fact that he was more focused on her ring and marriage that he would sacrifice something that would make his schooling so much easier really touched her. She finished drying and putting the last few dishes away, she went over to the hall closet and grabbed the shopping bag. Rick was still hunched over his plate while working on his homework. She set the bag on the table in front of him, this made him look up at her. He had a bit of food in his mouth which made her laugh, she picked up the napkin and wiped his face.
“What is it? Did you have a chance to pick up my socks?” he asked, Diane laughed again before responding.
“Open it and find out,” she said, kissing the top of his head. He cleaned off his hands and opened the plastic bag. When he saw what it was, he set it on the table, pushed his chair back, and engulfed her in a bear hug. He lifted her up and squeezed her tight so she couldn’t move.
“I’m glad you liked it,” she breathed out, he set her back on the ground, took her face between his hands, and kissed her.
“You really are my everything you know that?” he asked before kissing her.
“I love you,” she said.
They both graduated with their degrees in 1976 and things were looking so promising. Rick already found a job working at a biotech company with a great wage and Diane was working as the lead veterinarian at her clinic. They bought a house that was perfect, two-story with a big garage. This worked out perfectly because it turned into Rick's workspace. For a while they just worked, saved up, and went on vacations every once in a while but things were beginning to get complacent. Every day the same routine, both Diane and Rick began to wonder about the concept of children. There was no reason why they couldn’t start trying but Diane was scared. Actually terrified of what pregnancy would do to her body not to mention having to birth a whole baby. Diane came home early one day because she was feeling so sick. It wasn’t until she walked into the store and into the pharmacy that it dawned on her she could be pregnant.
They used to use condoms religiously but they’d been married for years now and to put it bluntly, they got lazy. She picked up a pregnancy test and then made her way back home. Rick wasn’t going to be home for about an hour so she ran into the bathroom to take the test. She bought 5, just to be sure it was completely accurate. She was pacing around the bedroom for a while, waiting for the tests to develop. She took her scrubs off and walked back into the bathroom, every single test read positive. For a while, she sat down and cried, sobbing even. She turned on the shower, in hopes that it would help calm her nerves. It wasn’t like she was nervous about Rick’s reaction, she knew he wouldn’t be mad or anything. She was just scared of no longer having control of her body. On the other hand, I'm thinking about having a little mini-her. As she cried in the shower, she couldn’t help but think about what her mother had told her. About what caused her dad to leave, she knew Rick would think she was silly for thinking this but her insecurities were getting the better of her. When Rick came home, he was surprised to see her car in the driveway, normally she got home after him. When he found her she was still crying in the shower. Rick was really worried until she directed him to the tests on the bathroom vanity.
“Honey why are you upset, you don’t want to be pregnant,” he asked gently, turning the water off once he realized it was ice cold.
“No, I just.. I don’t know,” she sighed, getting up and wrapping a towel around herself.
“How do you feel?” he asked, taking his work clothes off as you changed into comfy clothes.
“I think it’s just bringing up past memories of things like my mom and stuff,” she said wiping her eyes. Rick joined her on the bed, wrapping his arms around her.
“I would never leave you, especially if you were or are pregnant. I know it’ll be hard because of your past but I love you and look on the bright side. We’re having a little baby,” he said, moving his hands to her belly.
“Yeah, we are. Isn’t that so weird?” she asked rhetorically which made them both laugh before sharing a kiss.
The pregnancy went along smoothly, she still worked until she was 7 months pregnant. Taking a break to start nesting and planning for the baby. Diane didn’t want anything elaborate, the baby shower was very intimate. Only close friends and family her mother wasn’t invited. The birth scared the shit out of Rick, he had so much anxiety watching her contracting. She looked like a cat that couldn’t get comfortable, shifting positions and writhing around. She kept reminding Rick not to let them do anything crazy to her which he reassured her every time. She pretty much blacked out while pushing, her face was so red, practically purple. She was so exhausted that she kept dozing off while waiting for them to bring her back. As the doctor stitched her up, Rick watched making sure they didn’t give her the husband stitch. Diane’s face was bruised from how hard she pushed, she was sleeping curled up on her side. Rick held Beth as he waited for her to wake up. The nurses thought she was a redhead at first but after they bathed her they realized it was actually blonde. He talked to her the entire time, whispering how much he loved her on her forehead. She was perfect, like a little doll. Rick couldn’t believe he made her or how tiny she was. Diane woke up shortly after, immediately taking Beth into her arms and gushing over her.
This was the last memory on the mind blowers, Diane ripped the helmet off herself and started crying. She felt like she was going crazy, the overwhelming feeling of watching herself live a completely different life made her want to throw up. Going to one of the corners of the room and just hyperventilating. Rick sat behind her so that his knees were on either side of her.
“Did we really do all that together?” she asked, wiping her face.
“A version of you, yeah,” he said.
“I can’t be that for you, I’m not a mom I don’t know how to do that yet. I wasn’t born like forever ago either,” she cried
“I’m not asking you to become a different person or my wife. I just worry about other Versions of me, getting a hold of you. They won’t be as… nice as me,” he explained. She turned around to face him, he looked sad and tired. Maybe it was because she was feeling overwhelmed and needed comfort but she moved to hug him. He wrapped his arms around her and she did the same. Tears streamed down his face, he was squeezing her so tight she couldn’t breathe for a second.
“I’m exhausted and my head hurts,” she said, which made Rick stand her up and start the shower for her. While Diane sat, soaking in the hot water, Rick got her a pain pill to help her sleep and ease all the anxiety this entire ordeal had caused. He waited on the bed until she came out of the bathroom, showered, and changed. He wrote down his number just in case he needed anything before he went to leave.
“Wait! Can you stay with me please?” she asked, sitting on the bed. He agreed and lay there till the pain pill he gave her kicked in. She ended up cuddling up next to him and sleepily protested when he tried to break free and leave.

I saw someone else on here saying how Rick needs someone with a different moral compass to go with him on adventures because otherwise it'd be an echo chamber of bad decisions, and thats why he brings Morty (very outspoken against him) rather than Summer (very often outspoken against him, however very much aligns with his violent impulses)
and I agreed with that, however I wanted to add my own theory as to why he brings only Morty, which kind of goes along with theirs.
I lost their post/url so I dont know who it is who posted that, but if I find it ill reblog with a link to their post, or if one of you find it youre welcome to do that for me !!
okay, so. it seems to me that another reason Rick would take Morty most times and not usually Summer is not only because Summer is more likely to become a moral echo chamber, but because Morty is the most likely in the family to not end up another Rick.
let me explain what I mean:
Rick has witnessed the citadel and how that ended up, he's implied to have witnessed the deaths of so many people (not just Ricks) for being too confident in their smarts. he knows that his life style kind of ruins you if youre as smart as he is because you start getting to know that you are.
this won't happen with Morty.
Morty is a lot of things; resourceful, highly adaptive, good in combat (when he can be), quick on his feet and passionate. but one thing he isnt, is like Rick.
Morty gets none of his traits from Beth or Rick. he isnt inhumanely smart (in fact its canon that he's quite the opposite), he isnt predisposed to being cold and uncaring, he isnt as impulsive (he still is, just not as much), the list goes on.
not only are Summer and Beth predisposed to end up like Rick, they have, on many occasions, acted exactly how Rick would've acted in situations. and to me, it seems like that scares him.
Morty however is very different to Rick, and Rick knows that very few Mortys ever end up even a fraction of the man he is.
Mortys are not predisposed to end up cold and uncaring, in fact Mortys are predisposed to be the exact opposite. Mortys are "hardwired for forgiveness." theyre empathetic, loving, forgiving. Mortys rarely harden into the kind of person Rick is, or the kind of person Summer and Beth would be.
Morty is the obvious answer to who Rick should rely on - he'll never be bad. Morty is good at his core. at least most of them are, of course just like there's outlier Ricks (c-137 himself), there's outlier Mortys, but as a general statement, Mortys are good at their core.
kind of off topic, but I also beleive that c-137 is good at his core.
let me explain.
he is, by admission, a different kind of Rick. he wanted to stay home, to be there for the girls, he was even willing to give up his dream of science just to be there for him.
when they died, so did a part of him.
he lost the love of his life, and he lost his daughter. he lost his perfect little family.
and what did he do ? go insane trying to find the person who did this to him, and get rid of them.
the things he did on the way were kind of a "in the grand scheme of things" type of situation.
again another blog already said this (here) (hopefully that worked), but when Prime said he c-137 could've been him- he already was. he was in the exact same situation that Prime was. he offered someone infinity, and they rejected it. but instead of going the way Prime did, which was killing the people around Bird Person to force him to travel infinity anyways, he just moved on. he got upset at first and tossed some weak insults, but he moved on. because, as the above post says, its not that big of a deal. it wasn't the end of the world for him.
now, im not saying c-137 has never done anything wrong. hes done a lot of things wrong. what I am saying is he's good at his core; his goal was never and still isn't just to hurt people. his goal is revenge and in his eyes, its a ticking time bomb. anyone in his way has to be swiftly dealt with because he's running out of time.
also - of course he can't show how much he loves Morty. he doesnt know if Prime is still watching him, but he does know that the Omega Device could very well still be on operation, and he finds out he was correct in this assumption in Ultmortricken.
if he had shown his love for Morty often at all, who knows what Prime would've done with that information.

There's likely a part 2 to my Rick Parasite theory coming. Thank you to anyone who reblogged it, but I am hoping it still explodes. This is something I removed from the theory originally to make into its own post
Tumblr media
Season 4, Episode 1 shows other dimensions have become fascist seemingly without an explanation. These are the dimensions that have Operation Phoenix set up. Rick had no back-up clones due to killing them all in 'Big Trouble in Little Sanchez'. The fact he goes into other dimensions for this means that the other Ricks must have known about him, but each of them comes in confused and ready to kill. So what's going on here?
Rick had escaped the clutches of The Citadel and cosmic prison. He would go out of his way to destroy it, leaving it in physical shattered remains. In Season 3, Episode 1, we see that Rick changes bodies with other Ricks in a similar way. However, that's because his mind was still intact - it was the body that was being cut-off forcibly. He dies in an accident in Season 4, causing the chain of events of his holograms and clones. I think this is an attempt from The Citadel to rebuild and catch Rick. What's the proof?
Tumblr media
The Ricklantis Mixup shows blatantly (mainly through its cold opening) that not everyone hates The Citadel and wants it gone. The fact there's politicians at all means there are people who genuinely care for The Citadel. That means it can splinter off properly - again, this is evident through the existence of political parties. Other Ricks would create their OWN Citadel. Even if they're small compared to the scope of The Citadel, they're still the smartest man in their own dimension. This would allow them to create a government in their dimension that serves as a mini-Citadel that controls the entire planet
Tumblr media
As the Wiki points out, there seems to be no racial hierarchy in the first fascist government we see. I don't know if this applies to any other government we see because they're based on species - we don't know if they coexist or all species are divided
However, the system of fascism in the first one mentions sterilizing China. Rick would obviously be able to pull this off, but it seems that each politician Rick went out of their way to set up their own government in their dimension, as I hinted at. This allows total control and means private Citadel-esque systems control each dimension personally rather than having a watchful eye over each dimension
Fascist Morty might seem like an anomaly, but there's a great explanation for this
He says this Rick was 'too political', meaning he must have been focused on his new role as a dictator. When he mentions missing old adventures, this is something that can explain why they did this in the first place
This is sort of a chicken and egg situation on which came first, so bear with me. But I think when The Citadel was destroyed, Ricks in their dimension were distraught and wanted to bring it back in some way. They must have also heard that Rick C-137 was on the loose, causing there to be a perfect solution. If Rick ever dies, they can cause the rerouted Operation Phoenix vats to bring C-137 to them. With these fascist Citadel-esque governments in place, they keep their ideologies going and kill C-137 right in their own dimension. In a way, they brought the Citadel home and to Rick
The thing about adventures though - they KILL
Tumblr media
The idea of a Meeseeks Box still existing is interesting, even Kirkland versions of them. This IS an autocracy, meaning that Rick can literally spawn in Meeseeks to do whatever he wants. It's perfect! That means no soldiers can turn on him, they're temporary servants that can only do one thing and do it right
In the situation of an 'adventure', even if Rick can leave for a while by using a Meeseeks or two (or relying on other figures like the president), it's still dangerous. If he dies, the vat is used as Rick reincarnates. They CANNOT allow that to happen. Considering Operation Phoenix carries a limited number of bodies (and Rick seems to have had the most growing), it's risky because they'd be wasting one on the fascist Rick while waiting for C-137 to come
Wasp Rick doesn't seem to be an outlier, though
Notice how Fascist Morty took control quickly of the situation and seems to follow these political ideaologies as well. He just wants to have a stable mix of a controlled government and adventuring Wasp Rick also mentions that Wasp Morty has been looking at alt-right forums after berating C-137 for using up a vat. Sound familiar?
Tumblr media
However, Wasp Rick goes on about how his species is already brutal. So here's the final part of this theory before a recap
The dimensions that Rick's vat can reroute to seem to be on the perpetual state of having a body available to use. Considering the hatred that a Morty might have against Rick (already being shown), the death of The Citadel means that they resent Rick-centered governments AND the Rick who also caused adventures to slow down! That means Wasp Morty was likely looking at anti-Rick forums that explore a DIFFERENT kind of political ideology. I mentioned that there are different parties already, so maybe Morty was looking at a forum that introduces Morties to hating their Rick
Tumblr media
This episode LITERALLY has Morty already going against C-137 Rick's wishes so...this theme is still continuing
Tumblr media
Wasp Rick is angry because his Operation Phoenix vat system is being restricted to catch C-137. Rick is also aware that Wasp Morty is looking at these forums, so this is clearly an ongoing issue where other dimensions' fascist Ricks try to introduce this ideology. Wasp Rick has his vats being restricted right now as a result through what I'll call a phantom Citadel - the conceptual Citadel still trying to control each Rick and the orders that'll usually be sent out to follow
RECAP: The Citadel is trying to reform through Ricks that are angry and they decide to set up their own fascist Citadels they can run. During this, they realize that C-137 is still out there, but they decide to bide their time. In the event he dies, they'll have Operation Phoenix vats monitored and restricted. If adventuring is banned, it would also give these Ricks excuses to stay in their dimension and rule as well, creating either angry or prepared Ricks that are all branching off a similar fascist ideology - even if the political systems seem to be different across each dimension
I'd suggest leaving a comment if you'd like to see more Rick and Morty theories. These do not do well on my page sadly, and this acts sort of as Rick Parasite Theory 1.5. Part 2 might come out as well so...let me know if you want that. Or I should make this all into a YouTube video...

Imagining a reporter Super Rickorty Fan Morty (or Rick) getting obsessed with C-137s, taking pictures of them, following them on their adventures, digging up juicy information about them and publishing all of it in the Citadel.
Imagining Ricks and Mortys overanalyzing those pictures. Some see Rick and Morty cuddling, and thinking, it's obviously staged. Seeing Morty's fingers gripping Rick's shirt tight and thinking he is definitely trying to push Rick away. Seeing them kissing and Mortys swear Rick is just using Morty, manipulating him.
Imagining other Ricks and Mortys seeing the same pictures and ache. They want the same domestic love. Their matching obsession. The way Morty is turned on and the way Rick is ready to give him anything he wants. The way they clearly love each other.

Rick Prime's regeneration
I'll start this one by saying it's reaaaaally suspicious that we weren't shown how Evil Morty turned off Rick Prime's regeneration schtick.
Tumblr media
He obviously did do it, because Rick C-137 successfully punched him to death, but we weren't shown the process. I guess, since he managed to hack into Rick Prime's brain and got access to aaaaaaaaall his weapons, schematics, implants, etc, it wasn't particularly difficult to turn off whatever implant granted Rick Prime this ability. I wasn't particularly surprised when he didn't recover from Rick C-137's punches; Evil Morty is very thourough.
But why weren't we shown the action of it being turned off? Was it unnecessary? Was it to reduce screen time? Or was it plot-relevant?
Tumblr media
...Does this really look like regeneration?
Compare it with Rick C-137 sorta fixing himself:
Tumblr media
Aaaaall the blood stays where it was spilled.
While Rick Prime becomes completely clean (although the tears in his clothes remain, a whole sleeve reforms):
Tumblr media
...Where did all the blood go...?
Is it like he "regenerated"...?
...or is it more like...
...whatever happened to his body physically was...
...undone?
And I think this is interesting:
Tumblr media
Rick C-137 has exactly ZERO obligations, no job. He also has FREE TIME.
But... what if Rick Prime LITERALLY had "free time".
As in: a free supply of time crystals (maybe granted to him by Slow Mobius, whose death "hurt [Rick Prime] too") allowing him to LITERALLY have AS MUCH TIME AS HE WANTED, for EVERYTHING.
Which would also explain why he's young.
And it could be a metaphor of his inability to mature as a person.

RICK AND MORTY S7EP5: SPOILERS AHEAD
The essence of the premise of this episode almost makes me feel like it's fan service, I'd be lying if I too didn't imagine a scenario where Evil Morty and our C-137 pair teamed up.
Tumblr media
But I really really liked how it was handled, I also feel just as hooked on the fact they didn't develop Rick Prime further as I am almost sad of not having seen more from him.
Although to be fair what is there to develop with the Rick that best fits the stereotype? He's the ultimate one dimensional pity, god wanna be asshole that the toxic fans think Rick should be haha.
Probably that's what made him so easy to defeat by Evil Morty, but I'll get there.
I think it's better they jump from Rick Prime's death to explore more of our Rick, both beating the cliche of a big bad (as the writers tend to prefer avoiding) and focusing on who matters more comparatively speaking, trauma of that kind isn't ended by simple revenge.
(Which btw was played so brutally I wasn't ready at all, also, I obviously don't care about the voice changes, but I felt the acting was phenomenal in that scene, further reinforcing how positively I feel about the changes)
Tumblr media
Evil Morty's capabilities being so significant was also very fun to see, for me anyway. I saw a YouTube comment that someone considered him very powerful "all of the sudden", I wouldn't be surprised to see that sentiment around elsewhere, which is valid, but I think that E-M spent most of his time by now analysing how Ricks work, he understands what is necessary to survive in the wild, but his speciality remains the same, besting Rick.
Ricks think they are unpredictable and chaotic and wild, but they can clearly be boiled down to similar patterns, making them only tough to beat if you're willing to put in the work of deactivating the hundreds of traps coming your way.
Tumblr media
Although I found it interesting he knew killing Rick Prime wouldn't satisfy Rick, I don't know if to him that's just basic logic, or if he felt some degree of the same at some point in his schemes.
Tumblr media
The only thing I "didn't like" in the episode was how our Morty was portrayed, sorta.
I can't decide if that's because the foil that's created with Evil Morty reminds me extra to the more down to Earth reactions and feelings and thoughts our Morty is supposed to have (which is great when not overplayed obviously), or if he was written a bit too simple this time?
We know our Morty is also strong, capable of defending himself well and good adapting, but the times we've seen that have arrived only after breaking points (like the Nimbus episode, or the Purge Planet EP), so maybe he simply wasn't there yet.
But with Evil Morty being so crafty, he felt somewhat just there... Except when we picture him in regards to E-M, I feel he had a bit of fun, especially with our Morty, the main downside to Evil Morty's journey is that he became much more detached, emotionless and more like Rick paradoxically, I think hanging out with our Morty could be good for both of them.
Can't wait to see what comes next.
