OK THE TRIFECTA OF SAMMYVERSE POSTS IS COMPLETE. i have been giggling about this one since i sketched it out >:]c

as per usual, leftmost (when in a frame with all three of them) sammy is played by @inkdemonapologist , and rightmost is @queenofcats17 's! the concept of CoC sam being freaked out by my golden ink sam (due to his own run ins with yellow ink constructs) has been running amok in my head for ages and i have finally managed to bring it to life.

Playing around with some metallic accents for magic nonsense with the CoC boys!

I've been sitting on these for awhile and excited to finally share since, with the new summary, it's no longer spoilers!!

Jack with his ghost eyes and hand scars, possibly now imbued with something more from his encounter with the Masked Messenger,

Henry with his scythe that surely definitely isn't doing anything alarming to the core of his being,

Joey who also is doing inadvisable things like demonic possession and binding magical artifacts to his?? soul??

And...Prophet Sammy. Oh, Sammy.....

[BatIM Call of Cthulhu Masterpost]

OKAY SO in the last episode of the Call of Cthulhu game:

Sammy and Jack’s kidnappers turned out to be a weird music-based cult who wanted to induct them but first urged them to demonstrate their skill

Peter told them to STALL and then ran off to alert Joey to their location

Sammy made a few half-hearted attempts at stalling by asking questions but Jack was nervous and didn’t want to antagonise these guys, and Sammy decided he’d be way better at holding people’s attention with music and jumped on the piano to show off

The important thing about rolls in Call of Cthulhu is that they’re on percentage dice, which roll anywhere between 1-100, where high numbers are bad (100 is the worst possible roll, a fumble) and you want to roll lower than your skill.

And for this music check, Sammy rolled... a 1. The best possible result.

I still cant believe while Joey was enacting his absurd musical riot scheme, this guy was locked in the back playing piano like his and Jack’s lives depended on it, and playing sO HECKIN WELL that every gangster cultist in the room stopped what they were doing and put off the cult initiation just to listen to him play
