UN BEAU MATIN 2022
You must never let people take pity on you. You must show that you're there, that you are a living person. Pity, forget that. Never accept pity.

One Fine Morning Review- A Difficult Subject Matter that Takes too Long to Transpire
Films that feature a son or daughter looking after a loved one such as a parent are a bit hit-and-miss. They can be a bit melodramatic at times. One Fine Morning takes a long time to get to the point of the story. Along the way, there are some other things that get in the way of the main story. Lea Seydoux commands the screen though with every scene she’s in. The film keys on her performance but…

And while she's absolutely at home making English-language blockbusters — she's also graced the Mission: Impossible franchise in the past — she does a little independent drama every now and then, so you can almost taste the croissants in French. One Fine Morning is one of them.Along with acclaimed Gallic filmmaker Mia Hansen-Love, Seydoux stars as a single mother in Paris, too young to be called “of a certain age” but already torn between generations. Her hitherto tame little daughter is just starting to play herself at school, but her father, a much admired philosophy professor, is the main problem.Gentle and kind, he suffers from what we assume to be early onset dementia but turns out to be more complicated.
Gallic Charm: Melvil Poupaud, Camille Leban Martins and Léa Seydoux in One Fine MorningThe terrifying hunt for a suitable home begins when Sandra (Seydoux) meets a handsome - and married - old friend and begins an affair.Seydoux may be too young (she's 37) and pretty to be fully convincing, but she does her best and fully contributes to a thought-provoking film about love, the sheer mess of adult life and the harrowing humiliation of old age at .Of the horror hokum currently doing the rounds, The Pope's Exorcist has a slight edge for me, partly because it takes its subject matter seriously (don't worry, there are jokes), and partly because of Russell Crowe and veteran Italian actor Franco Nero they are really good as a Vatican exorcist or Pope.Still, we're on familiar territory as Father Gabriel Amorth travels to a ruined Spanish abbey where the young son of its new American owner is apparently possessed by a demon. It's a shame that the boy, when so obsessed, has Ralph Ineson's easily recognizable gritty northern tones, but it's a decent effort.Far more tongue-in-cheek is Renfield, which sets the story of Dracula and his insect-eating servant Renfield—or Robert Montague Renfield, as he introduces himself in a long and knowing voiceover—in modern-day New Orleans. It takes a long time for the film to feel more like a series of standalone scenes, and even longer for a subplot, in which Awkwafina plays a high-spirited cop, to gel. But thanks to one particularly good (and, be warned, gory) fight, and the fact that we've likely seen Nicolas Cage as Camp and the toothy Dracula, we're really just Nicholas Hoult as Renfield, we come out in awe.
Always Drac: According to his director Chris McKay, Nicolas Cage was always Dracula on the set of his new film Renfield Suzume is a gorgeous looking Japanese animation from director Makoto Shinkai, who made the widely acclaimed Your Name. Suzume is a 17-year-old schoolgirl who meets a mysterious and handsome young man who tells her the real reason why Japan is so devastated by earthquakes. What follows is a strange and complex tale of cod mythology, doors and giant worms, which disappointingly slows to a sluggish crawl in the second half.Assassin Club may feature Henry Golding, Sam Neill, and Noomi Rapace, but this derivative, charmless, cliched tale of assassins turning on their rivals is pretty terrifying.
