Hello from Camp Northfield! Well, technically, I'm sitting on a bench outside the Dickinson Memorial Library down the street from camp, but still. I barely have access to technology here since the camp has no service whatsoever apart from phone calls out of the office, so I had to walk 45 minutes to get to the library to post this, but I'm here, and that's all that matters! I got your post notification on the walk to the library, but I can't read it because it refuses to load up here in the middle of East Bumfuck, so I think next time I plan to come here, I'm going to have to start binding our stories as books so that I have some form of entertainment between teaching archery courses and meal times. I swear, sitting around in between groups is like a new form of torture with this heat. It's been straight 80s-90s with heat indexes pushing it into the 100-105 range. I thought I was tan, to begin with, but now I look like the afterpicture of some cheese-filled recipe you find online - crispy and golden brown. I swear, I'm going to end up melting out here.
Anyway, enough about camp and the blistering heat!
I didn't realize it would be so damn hard to work on one story at a time when I have ideas for two completely different stories bouncing around in my head. Now that I'm away from home and have nothing other than notebooks to write my ideas in, I'm realizing just how screwed I am, as ideas for everything under the sun have been vying for my attention. I swear, it's like a volleyball game with my last shred of a brain cell as the ball. STDP is obviously one with 33 pages of the next "episode" done while I'm still in the beginning stages of the chapter, but Camp Wanamaker 2: Electric Boogaloo has been bouncing around in the background like a child hopped up on sugar. That's probably not going to be the official title, by the way, but that's what I've been referring to it as, so that's what I'm calling it until I decide what else to call it 🤣
I'm also constantly pestered with ideas for three other stories - True Colors (Through the Valley sequel), The Mark of the Archer (Percy Jackson AU), and Unsinkable (a super long one-shot, Titanic AU I've talked about before). As these all require a lot of research (the last of the three being part of the birthday surprise I was going to work on for you as it's very Carrie/Miles-centric), they'll require more time to be worked on when I get home at the end of the month, but where I've already started on STDP and parts of CW2, I don't think they'll make an appearance for a while, especially not the multi-chapter ones.
In the meantime, I'm definitely going to be working on STDP as it's my primary story right now, but I'm working on CW2 in little bursts on my phone when someone with a hotspot stops to chill with me - writing down ideas and quotes and working on one chapter that's been gnawing at the bars of its cage for a long time now lmao. Like I said, I have notebooks, but carpal tunnel sucks, and I have to take a lot of breaks from writing STDP. Now, while you wait for me to get home from camp and write out more, I have a gift! Alongside my chapter title ideas (and a few of my side notes for a few lmao) that I plan on incorporating into a few stories when the time comes, I'm also giving you a random snippet I enjoyed writing that will go into CW2 further down the line and two other snippets - one from STDP and the other from CW2. None of them have been edited yet, and I think I wrote some parts more in the present tense than I normally do, but that's just how I do it sometimes when I'm scribbling things out, so I guess you could consider this your warning so you won't be too thrown off by that. Also, I left them a bit vague for a reason, and I won't say which one belongs to which story, but I'd love to see if you can figure out what belongs where. Besides, I'm always up for a bit of light torture, so enjoy!
Here are a few of my chapter title ideas to give you a good idea of how some of these stories will progress...
Tumblr media
And now, I hope you enjoy these little tidbits of chapters you'll hopefully see soon after I get home!

My current mental distraction is based on developing my Pokémon trainer self-insert.
And because I’m me, the third step of this (after picking my team and starting the outfit design) was asking questions about how Bags and portable power works in-universe.
I haven’t watched the anime since the 90s, and while Bulbapedia has been awesome I can’t blame them for not having the answer to questions like “Does your bike fit into your Bag solely because it’s ‘collapsible,’ which is unlikely; is ‘collapsible’ a term for a specific shrinking tech used on the bike, or should we just assume the Bag is a bag of holding?”
(As Poké Balls “rel[y] on a Pokémon's natural ability to shrink down when scared or injured” and therefore not inherently indicative of shrinking technology existing in-universe, unless you count the ball itself shrinking?? Except that seems to be different between the anime and the games???)
And I ended up not picking any Electric type Pokémon, so what would be my options for power while traveling, and how much does this matter, and…
….
Yes, I’m Autistic, I’m a 43 year old woman randomly deciding to create a 20 something fantasy version of myself traveling around in a fantasy world with a bike, a bike camper, and six monsters themed around the idea of “Hybrids with two each being Ghost, Dark, or Psychic” because I think that would be fun.
And worrying about how I’m transporting my 20 lb weighted blanket.
That seems obvious. 😊

big FML my primary computer that i use for work stuff decided to just stop working correctly tonight. literally losing my fucking mind. ahhhhhhhhhh whyyyyyy
my macbook pro turns on, plays the boot chime and just stays with a white screen, but, I plugged it into a TV and discovered that it did in fact boot to the system, but the computer is failing to display anything on the display. the system does recognize the display, but I can't run the system hardware diagnostics as they only work in the built in display, which only shows the mac white screen of death. i reset the pVRAM and the SMC chip, and I jostled the display cable and unplugged it and replugged it in.
anyways, in the infinite wisdom of 1:30 am i just bought another copy of the computer for 160 dollars on ebay that has an inferior hard drive and ram, which I am planning on just migrating my hard drive and ram to and just keeping the ones from inside that computer for something else. not a fan of how this turned out

ROMEO AND FAIR JULIET
Tumblr media
—– ٠ ✤ ٠ —–· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • · —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —–
pairing: biker!luke castellan x fem!reader
summary: luke loves his bike, a present from his father. it allows him to get out of camp fast as well as take him on late night rides. luke loves his bike, but he loves you a lot more.
warnings: ooc luke, rushed ending, no specific parent for reader, chris shows up!
a/n: the creative juices are not flowing right now, i’ll try to revise it. and I’ll hopefully revise the ending later 😭
requested: yes!! (don’t have og request)
—– ٠ ✤ ٠ —–· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • · —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —–
“Look who showed up.” Your friend grinned widely. Her head sticking out the window of your dorm room. You get off your bed and joined her.
A couple floors down was Luke in gray sweatpants, black compression shirt and a black jacket. His mischievous smile brightened when you popped your head out the window.
“Hey, pretty girl.” He called out. Your boyfriend snuck onto your college campus. You knew exactly what he wanted to do.
Late night rides on his motorcycle.
The motorcycle was a gift for Hermes, an apology. It could take Luke anywhere he wanted. He just had to go 88 mph, like the DeLorean from Back to the Future.
“Stay there, Romeo!” Your essay could be done later. It’s been a bit since you hung out with Luke. He just got back from a quest recently. Thankfully—he didn’t fail this time, nor get any scars.
“Please cover me.” You begged your friend, tugging on your jacket and sliding some pajama pants over your shorts.
Before she could answer, you’re out the door and racing down the stairs. You completely disregard the need to be sneaky and secretive.
“My fair, Juliet.” Luke smiled as you ram into him. A tight embrace. He quickly broke the hug he and looked around, excited to be reunited.
The Romeo and Juliet nicknames started since you started to go to college. He would always show up and stand under your balcony at night. It was quite cute really.
Luke grabbed your hand as you both ran out of your college campus, fleeing away in the cover of night. His trusty steed parked a little away from your dorm building.
“Up and at it.” He held your hips as your mounted the motorcycle like a horse. Your ears turned red (luckily hidden by your hair).
“Where are we going?” You asked, flipping the visor up and down on his extra helmet.
“Just you wait, my sun.” Luke smirked and put on his helmet, prompting you to do the same.
(You swear he’s been learning all about Romeo and Juliet from the Apollo Campers. He firmly denies it, but you know he has since you started college.)
Soon enough the stars were moving besides you as the vehicle raced down the streets of New York. Luke sped through red light and speed limit cameras without a care for human lives. “Supposedly,” the Mist was covering you two.
“Where are we going?!” You shouted and held onto his waist tighter. Your arms pressing against his abs.
Luke reached behind you and held your thigh. The motorcycle reached to 88 mph. Suddenly, a white flash surrounded the tow of you, transported you to an entirely different scene.
You and Luke parked on top of a mountain. A campsite to be specific. There was a table on top of a blanket. Flowers and your favorite snack by candles.
“You did keep complaining about your school work so…” Luke trailed off and removed his helmet. “I also know you miss camp since you started college—surprise!”
“Luke…” You mumbled and looked back at the camp counselor. “You didn’t have too. I would’ve been fine with just a ride out in the city.”
“Oh, but I wanted too.” Luke wrapped his arms around your hips. You tilted your head up at him. “Can’t have you burning out before you come back to camp.”
You kiss his lips appreciatively, tangling your hands in his curls. Luke paused but kissed you back. He spun you so you were pressed up against his motorcycle (he loved doing this). “Thank you…” You breathed out.
“Anytime—anything for you.” Luke trailed kisses down your jaw and neck, whispering it into your skin.
“You really are a Romeo.” You giggled.
“Then you at my Juliet.” Luke smiled into your neck
When summer break started and exams were finished, Luke was the first one to see you. Well—pick you up. You just moved out of your college dorm room and now packing up to stay at Camp Half-Blood. It was a quick hi and goodbye to your parent before you’re rushing down to meet your knight in orange armor.
“My fair, Juliet.” He greeted with a playfully bow.
“Romeo.” You curtsies with your imaginary dress. You were giddy, finally being able to leave college life to escape to Camp Half-Blood.
Soon enough you were running up Half Blood-Hill, greeted by your cabin mates and friends you haven’t seen for so long.
“Oh shit, College is back!” Chris shouted, leaving the new Hermes kid he was with to greet you. The nostalgic smell of Camp hits you and suddenly you yearn to never leave camp again.
“Missed you too, Mercutio.” You embraced Luke’s half-brother.
“Still? With that Romeo and Juliet shit?” Chris rolled his eyes.
“Hey, it’s cute.” Luke defended.
“Yeah cause you’re Romeo!”
“What do you and Clarisse want to be Romeo and Juliet?”
“What—no! She is no damsel in distress.”
“Neither is my girlfriend!”
“Yet you still call her Juliet.”
“Shut up.”

𝚖𝚒𝚜𝚜 𝚖𝚎, 𝚖𝚞𝚗𝚜𝚘𝚗?
𝚎𝚍𝚍𝚒𝚎 𝚖𝚞𝚗𝚜𝚘𝚗 𝚡 𝚛𝚎𝚊𝚍𝚎𝚛
Tumblr media
𝚗𝚘𝚝𝚎𝚜 long time no see and 80s slasher summer is here
𝚠𝚊𝚛𝚗𝚒𝚗𝚐𝚜 light piv sex, insecure reader, 1.4k words, bad grammar and smut writing sry
𝚜𝚞𝚖𝚖𝚊𝚛𝚢 you and eddie are camp counselors and hookup every summer, but it’s not enough for you and poor eddie baby
“Miss me, Munson?” You asked from the door, waving away the milky smoke that pillowed from his spot on his bunk.
Twelve summers at Camp Blue Lake had led you and Eddie into your early adulthood where you’d become counselors.
As the summers got hotter and you grew older, you and Eddie had started an annual summer fling of sorts, a tradition, really.
Like clockwork, you would sneak away during the evenings when the campers were in the mess hall, making the most of every moment whether it was in his bunk or yours, the art cabin, or sometimes the woods.
You popped your hip out, hoping he would like the new shorts you bought for the season.
He rolled his head towards you, looking you up and down to see what time apart had done to you. He tried to look uninterested. He was shirtless, and you couldn’t help but ogle. He’d gotten new tattoos.
“Don’t you know this kinda thing is bad luck? You know what happened to those counselors in Friday the 13th, right?”
“What? Did the Hawkins girls treat you too well this year?” Your dejected tone didn’t go unnoticed, even though you tried to conceal it with a smirk.
You thought maybe he’d found a girlfriend and didn’t need you anymore.
Truth was, Eddie dreaded seeing you more and more each summer because leaving you was getting harder and harder. And missing you was even worse.
He laughed a little as he exhaled.
“Not quite.”
His smile faded into something sad as he succumbed to your pretty face staring at him with an insecurity he wasn’t used to.
“Indianapolis boys treat you well?”
You shook your head. You hadn’t even bothered with other boys since the summer of ‘85; you were completely and totally hung up on Eddie.
“You don’t have yourself a little boyfriend, huh?”
He sat up on his palms, finally nodding you over to him. You plopped onto his tiny bunk happily, snatching his joint from his fingers.
“You don’t have to say it, it’s okay. I know you missed me.”
He scoffed.
You lie on your side, facing him and taking in all of the features you missed so much during the year. At some point, he’d worked up the courage to run his fingers softly across your cheek and through your hair.
It was slow and shy, but it was like riding a bike. You never really forgot how to love Eddie.
You watched him carefully, and he watched you back.
“It’s gonna be a hot summer,” you mumbled, looking away from him. His hand stopped and you frowned.
“D’you think Brad will wear those denim cutoffs this year?”
You sighed dreamily, “I can only hope.”
Eddie smacked your shoulder. “Hey!”
After a short fit of giggles, silence settled over the empty cabin again, and the buzzing of the cicadas became overpowering.
“If you don’t want to… you know… hook up or whatever you can just say so.” He sighed.
As if he hadn’t already stashed heaps of trojans underneath his thin mattress.
“Why wouldn’t I? We do it every summer? Unless—unless you don’t want to.”
You could feel the heat rising in your throat and heating your cheeks and the tips of your ears. Eddie really had probably found some sweet girl in Hawkins and felt too bad to tell you—
“Of course I do!” He rushed out. “I just thought I would… dunno, give you an out?”
You weren’t the only one feeling insecure. You decided to do the one thing you knew best.
The thing that always calmed you down. The thing that you did to celebrate winning color wars for the fifth summer in a row. The thing you missed so much while you were apart.
His lips felt the same as you remembered, instantly calming you despite the taste of stale weed on his tongue.
Usually, the first hookups of the camp season were eager and excited, squeezed in before the campers were set to arrive. But as you sunk down onto Eddie’s dick, something felt different. There was no rush.
The smell of his hairspray mixed with the heavy, humid air of the cabin, and the way Eddie felt so deep in your stomach after months without him almost made you cry.
He was so soft with you, and his eyebrows stayed knit together as he watched your breaths become more shallow and skin more flushed.
Everything felt so familiar, and as you dropped your forehead onto his shoulder you could barely contain the words nagging your tongue. I love you, Eddie. Please, please, please. I can’t spend another minute away from you I—
His soft grunting pulled you from your thoughts. You could tell he was getting close.
Psycho. You’re just his summer fling. Always have been, always will be.
You told yourself that, but you didn’t believe it.
Maybe Eddie could tell it had been a while since you’d had sex, because you were already whimpering into his shoulder like you did when you were close. But you could tell he was in the same boat.
The last time you’d had sex with anybody was a year ago in the very same spot on the last night of camp. You’d snuck away during the closing bonfire to feel each other one last time. That was the first time you’d let him fuck you without a condom.
When you collapsed onto Eddie’s chest, the setting sun was seeping through the damp and rotting wood of cabin 5, clinging to your sweaty skin.
“Campers will be here soon. We should probably set up for s’mores.” You said absentmindedly, tracing shapes onto his skin.
“Those slackers Brad and Cindy can do it. Let’s stay like this for a little longer.
Eventually you had to get up, the bustle of the rest of the counselors arriving meant soon the cabin would be occupied by campers, and you decidedly would not be reliving the incident where Tommy found your pair of Tuesday panties. He attached them to a stick and ran around the grounds screaming “Girl panties, girl panties!”
As the hours passed, more and more campers came tripping out of their cabins and onto the lawn where the girls huddled around each other trading scrunchies and talking about the boys they hoped to kiss that summer, and the boys played tag in the dark after seeing whose feet had grown the biggest.
The night sky blanketed the camp, and you relaxed into Eddie’s side, listening to the screeching and laughing of the campers.
“You remember our first kiss?” You asked him.
Eddie smiled and hummed deep in his throat.
“Mhm, right here in front of this very campfire.”
“We were what? 15?”
“Yeah, and everybody went down to the lake and we stayed back. Then you just laid one on me.”
“That is so not true!” You whined. “You so kissed me first, asshole!”
“I’m remembering it a little differently, sweetheart.”
Eddie had kissed you first. He was shaking and stumbling over his every word as he leaned in, bracing himself for you to shove him away from you. Really you were just as nervous, sweating because you thought you might’ve had marshmallow stuck in your braces.
Quiet settled over you again, and the sounds of the cicadas were back droning in your ears.
“I was thinking about moving into the city, you know. Getting my own place and all.”
“Really?” You asked, sitting up to face him.
Your face was bathed in orange light, and he swore he’d do anything for you.
He nodded.
“Dave said I could work at one of his shops in Indianapolis, like a transfer.”
“What about Wayne?”
You knew why Eddie was moving, and you wouldn’t be the reason he left his uncle.
Eddie just scoffed. “He’s got a new lady friend, Darlene. He’s plenty occupied.”
You smiled. “That could be nice, then.”
“I was also thinking about taking you on a date. Someplace without mosquitoes?”
“You going all soft on me, Munson?”
“Oh absolutely not, I’m still gonna bang your brains out after. Just thought we could go somewhere nicer than the mess hall beforehand.”
“What do you mean? Chef Agatha’s cooking is totally romantic.”
You leaned in closer to Eddie’s side, your chest and stomach warming at the idea of finally getting to be his.

Love Sucks III. The Hunt
Tumblr media
Vampire!Steve Harrington x fem!reader He’s just a gloomy, little guy.
The Masterlist 🩸
Honestly, it probably didn’t help that everyone was standing in a line, a front row audience to what Steve deemed a very nerve wracking moment in his afterlife.
“Ignore them, son,” Wayne gruffed, waving a dismissive hand at his nephew and all his friends.
“But, Eddie has a camera,” Steve responded with weak offence. Eddie grinned and waved, the video camera balanced against his shoulder. He refused to answer to anyone who asked where he got it from, but Nancy spoke loud and frostily about a handheld that had been stolen from the newspaper’s office last week. “He keeps pointing it at me.”
Eddie laughed.
You stepped in, scowling at your friends and smoothing your hands over Steve’s cheeks in what you hoped was a calming gesture. He was cold, almost icy, that forever faded summer tan paler than ever. His eyes were bloodshot, the skin underneath rose and lavender. He looked more like a vampire than ever.
He was hungry.
“Hey, hey,” you were frowning, something Steve hated to see on you but you were growing more concerned by the day. “I can tell them to leave, if you want?”
Steve glanced over at the kids, all sitting with snacks and chatting excitedly, their boots covered in mud and buried in the piles of leaves. Robin was perched on a low tree branch beside Jonathan and Nancy was talking to Hopper about the deer population.
“No, it’s okay,” Steve murmured. His words sounded slurred, sluggish, too thick for his dry mouth. “You’ll stay back though, right? I don’t want to hu—”
You let your hands trail down his shoulders, catching his cold fingers and squeezing. “You won’t,” you promised him. “But you need to eat. Let Wayne and Jim help you, yeah? Rabbits aren’t cutting it anymore, handsome.”
And they weren’t, Steve knew that. And he hated how sad he got once he bit into their soft fur, the small amount of blood not doing much more than breaking his heart. You told Wayne about it one day when he came back from hunting and the older man huffed and ranted tiredly about the overgrown population of deer, elk, wolves.
“Tell your boyfriend to catch some of those and we won’t have a problem.”
Except Steve had stared wide eyed at you at the suggestion. “An elk? I don’t know how to catch one of those.”
And that’s why you and your friends were in the middle of the woods on an October afternoon, just before evening fell. Hopper had swept the clearing for other hunters, dog walkers, campers and once he was satisfied, he gave Wayne a thumbs up.
“Okay, let’s go, Dracula,” Wayne announced and Steve frowned, offended. He pointed. “You see it’s neck? That’s where you wanna aim, got it?”
The “neck” was non-existent. Joyce Byers’ old exercise bike was sitting in the mud, padded out with pillows tied with string. Someone (Mike) had draped a blanket over it and someone else (Max) stuck branches to the handles, faux antlers, much to Steve’s dismay. He spared a glance back at you, looking forlorn before Wayne snapped his fingers and whistled.
“Hey, concentrate. You wanna jump it, right? Now you don’t got no gun, or crossbows, but I know there’s some heavy weaponry in that mouth of yours, so you gotta use it.”
Steve looked glum, lifting his fingers to rub at the sharp fangs he’d let protrude from his gums. They felt brittle and dry, ready to feed. You stepped closer, nudging yourself into Steve’s space until you could wrap your arms around his waist. He was icy under his shirt, almost too told to touch but you loved the way he relaxed into you at the touch of your hands, warm and soft, sneaking up the insides of his sweater.
So Steve nodded and then the rest of the evening was spent in a mess of semi-hilarity and frustration. Steve scowled and kicked at the dead leaves as Hopper egged him on and Robin and Wayne took turns in pretending to attack the bike, throwing themselves at the pillow padding, miming biting the fake neck.
Eddie caught everything on camera.
Eventually Steve relented and you watched as he paced around the fake animal, sulky looking with his red rimmed eyes and frown. But he seemed to move a little faster than you’d see him do before, his movements not superhuman, but definitely unnatural. Then he’d pounce, throw himself onto the bike and swear as pillows fell off the sides, the makeshift antlers poking him in the ribs as he scrambled for the bike's handles/neck.
People cheered, Eddie cackled, you kissed his pale cheek and Steve rolled his eyes with the impatience and embarrassment of a teenager going to his first prom.
“This is stupid,” he muttered but the next night he slipped into the woods to feed and he came back satiated.
He returned covered in mud and pine needles, with a drop of blood or two on his jeans and his shirt was torn from a scuffle from an animal that he deemed a monstrous size, but your boyfriend was pleased with himself and that’s all that mattered.
Two days later, Eddie made him watch Bambi on the VCR and Steve was horrified, declaring that he was going vegetarian.

Has Taylor been drawing connections to Barbie’s journey from Barbieland into the real world?
I rewatched Barbie a few days ago after streaming the Amsterdam N3 show and found some interesting parallels, particularly the scene where Barbie and Ken go through the transportation sequence.
Like Barbie and Ken, Taylor and Travis started their journey by setting off in the getaway car (a rather loud hint at how this whole thing is gonna end). Since then, Taylor has played Getaway Car twice - once in Melbourne mashed up with August and The Other Side of the Door, and again in Edinburgh mashed up with The Bolter - three more songs that reference cars.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Next, Barbie and Ken ride in the boat. I’m sure by now that most of us have seen the Taylor-Travis pap-walk on their way to a boat ride - with the chessboard sweater and the not-so-subtle AO3 shot in the background making everyone question if this is just a fanfic. Taylor also played the “murder mashup” which includes a song referencing a boating license and another song used in a movie where they boat through the marshes of North Carolina.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
From the boat, Barbie and Ken move onto the rocket ship. This is substantially more challenging for them to recreate, but I did notice that there were a hefty amount of spaceship/rocket references throughout June. Most notably: a new merch drop featuring the Down Bad spaceship and lyrics; a TikTok from Ice Spice where she’s reading the WSJ issue featuring Karlie Kloss as a “Rocket Woman” that’s “suiting up at Spacex;” Kam yelling out “bolt ya rocket” during WANEGBT; and a timely insta post from Travis promoting the Accelerator Rocket Pop energy drink (while wearing a Ken wig?)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
After that, Barbie and Ken ride bikes through a scene set with windmills in the background, which heavily implies the Netherlands. This is what caught my attention because - while Taylor was in the Netherlands for Amsterdam N3 - she sang imgonnagetyouback, which of course has the line about smashing up your bike. She then sits down at the piano and says “I mentioned bikes, and man do you love bikes in Amsterdam! You just see a bike rack with 3,000 bikes on it.” Then, Travis was papped riding a bike out in Amsterdam. All of this happened only a week after Travis told us on his podcast that he suggested riding out on stage on one of the Blank Space bikes (before Taylor came up with the idea to make him a circus handler instead).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Next in the sequence are a camper, snowmobile, and rollerblades, so we will have to keep an eye out and see if there are any related hints.
It wouldn’t be the first Barbie reference that Taylor has made. In addition to all her Ken lyrics, I’m convinced that Peter references the Barbie movie with the line: “I hoped you’d return with your feet on the ground, tell me all that you’ve learned.” To me this feels a lot like Barbie choosing the Birkenstock over the high heel so she can go to the real world and learn the secrets of the universe. Especially when contrasted with “in stilettos for miles” when Taylor is lamenting her misery during I Can Do It With a Broken Heart, as if she’s stuck in Barbieland.
Tumblr media
What do you think? Am I just cherry-picking or does the transportation sequence seem like an intentional countdown? Given the themes of the Barbie movie, the connections are hard to miss.

RHO (Ridin' Him Out) [Jake Seresin x NB Reader]
Tumblr media
A/N: Hope you hoes enjoy this blurb :> I will not apologize for the vice grip that fucking commercial has on me. I need someone to hit me with that goddamn truck.
Pt. 2
Word Count: 470
CW: Smut (semi-explicit), fingering, semi-public fucking, no beta we die like goose, etc
It isn’t your fault that Jake Seresin is an avid outdoorsman. It isn’t your fault that Hangman is an adrenaline junkie. And it certainly isn’t your fault that your boyfriend’s new truck is hot as fuck, especially covered in mud.
But what is your fault is how quickly you ended up in the bed of it, bare-bodied and panting like a hound.
You couldn’t help it. When the Dagger Squad decided to go out on their monthly camping trips, this time bringing their respective partners for a full week of fun, it was supposed to be easy. The layout was simple: Bob and Nat in their trailer, Bradley and his partner in the other trailer, Javy and his partner in a camper, Rueben and Mickey in their house-like tent, and you and Jake in the truck tent beneath the stars. Y’all had scored lucky and gotten spots right next to each other by the camp in Point Mugu — not an easy feat with the beautiful weather and like-minded people.
You expected the camping trip to be easy. You’d brought everything you might need: swimsuits, books, art supplies, games, your bikes, and your camera. With the view of the coastline right next to you and the heat of the fire-pits burning bright, everything was set so you and the rest of the Dagger Squad could relax and enjoy a break from the busy, everyday life of the world.
But that didn’t last very long.
Jake had just gotten back from taking his big truck out to go hunting with Bradley and Javy before this trip had started. And he definitely did not have time to wash anything but the inside of the bed before loading it up and hauling both himself and you out to the beach.
The longer you stare at the truck, the longer you stare at your shirtless boyfriend as he got the fireplace going… Oo, baby, you weren’t gonna last.
Maybe you’re both pushing it as you bite down into Jake's shoulder, muffling your pleasured whines as his fingers curl perfectly inside you, pressing and grinding against that beautiful bundle of nerves inside you. Maybe you’d both wake up the next morning with some lazy grins from Mickey and Rueben. Maybe Nat and Bradley would need to explain to Bob and Bradley’s partner what the others knew.
But for now, you can’t find it in yourself to care. The quick, feverish jerks of his fingers has you drooling like a mutt, eyes glossed-over and filled with sweet tears. And when his mouth teases your warm chest, tongue swirling over the bud and spelling his goddamn name, nothing else mattered to you but the feel of cold metal on your back and the warm body above you.
After all, the new RHO can take a few hits, can’t it?

I should have known going swimming on my own would become a disaster. But technically, it was also the best day of my life.
Being a daughter of Hades is hard. Being the sister of Nico di Angelo is hard. Being a demigod is hard. But being in love with Perseus Jackson? That is the opposite of hard.
His sea green eyes that sparkle when he laughs. How he runs his hands through his scruffy black hair, making it even messier. How he fights with his shiny sword like nobody's watching. How he cares for the new campers, jokes with his friends, and always eats blue food if he can manage it.
I think it’s impossible not to fall for Percy Jackson. It’s the easiest? most natural feeling in the world.
Anyways, I’m a bit of a loner. Most campers don’t tend to want to hang out with the creepy death twins, so both Nico and I decide to be alone most of the time. Over the years here at camp, Nico has been in and out a lot, shadow travelling all over the world and even into hell once.
I’ve stayed here at camp all this time. I spend my time alone. I’ve tried to redecorate the Hades cabin (Nico made some terrible decisions as a young child and I am desperate to fix it). I do classes alone or sometimes with the Apollo kids (Will Solace is dating my brother, and he is like a brother to me).
Sorry, I’m getting off topic. Solangelo does that to people.
So on that shiny summer morning, Im walking down the dirt path to the lake. I’m glad I’m alone. I’d never dare to swim with someone else. No that anyone would want to do that with a Hades kid. We’re “creepy and dark and mysterious” or whatever. Which isn’t true. Yeah, I’m a introvert, but so are a lot of other people.
I have the weirdest feeling someone is watching me. I whirl around, but see nothing. Huh. I decide to ignore the strange feeling and just relax a little.
I wander down to the canoe lake, strip down to my sports bra and bike shorts, and dive off the end of the pier.
Unfortunately, I misjudged my dive. I landed wrong, felt my leg bend weirdly, and plummeted into the water. My head hits something hard, and everything goes black.
The next time I open my eyes, they see the somewhat blurry ceiling of the infirmary. Yellow light fills the room, warm and sunshiny and very Apollo cabin themed. I’m not sure I like this aesthetic so much.
“Y/n!”
It’s Nico. He rushes over and sits down on a stool beside me. “Damn, are you okay?”
I groan, my head suddenly spiked with pain. “Um. I think so? What the hell happened?”
Nico raises an eyebrow. “Y/n, you almost freakin drowned. What were you thinking? Going to swim alone?”
“I’m sorry,” I say, wincing. “So… what happened?”
Nico gives me a look. “You hit your head, we think. You would’ve drowned, you know. Except for Percy…”
I’m immediately paying attention. “Percy?” I ask curiously.
Nico looks slightly amused, and also annoyed. “Yeah, Percy Jackson. You were gonna drown, but he saved you. Lucky he happened to be walking past, which is weird, cause he was supposed to be at archery practice then.”
I flush slightly. “He… he saved me?”
Nico nods. “Gods, you’re hopeless. Stop getting all flustered over him.”
“Hey!” I complain. “Says you, whenever Will walks in the door.”
“Shut up.”
I smirk, and even though my head hurts something awful, Percy Freaking Jackson saved me in a canoe lake today. And that’s enough to make this my best day ever.

Barbie in the Mojave - Chapter One
I promised. It's time to deliver. Chapter one of the Barbie/Mojave fic.
This is just chapter one, so Jack isn't quite here yet, but I hope that it will set the tone I want the story to have.
Special thank you once again to @waywardrose for helping me finally watch Mojave! If it were possible to wear out a digital file the way you could wear out a VHS tape, it would be by now. There was a day I legit watched it three times in a row. I'm not even kidding. This story would not be possible without you.
I also want to tag @my-secret-shame and @lunar-ghoulie for showing this crazy idea interest, as well as @ominoose, @reallyrallyauthor, @steven-grants-world, @clemdango04, and @have-you-seen-my-sanity because you guys were on the "tag regardless" list I made for people I love and thought might enjoy this.

Strangers in a Strange Land
Somewhere along the way, she wasn’t sure where, a wrong turn had been made. Barbie and Ken, for whatever reason, were still in the car. Still in the seemingly endless stretch of desert. Where was the speedboat? The rocket ship? Tandem bike, camper van, snowmobile? She wasn’t supposed to overthink it but, this was ridiculous! The only difference between now and two hours ago were minor things. The sun was hotter. The breeze was warmer and picked up sand that seemed to go straight for the dolls’ eyes. The radio only played static. Even the landscape had changed around them. Fewer sand dunes. More rocky mountains and plateaus. No one around except for the two of them in her pink corvette. There was growth around them, rather than the empty sea of sand. Plants in the ground. Birds in the sky.
They’d somehow lost the road. It had gotten covered up by the sand. She’d thought they were still on it, but this excuse for a dirt road she was driving on didn’t seem to be taking her where she needed to go.
It was maddening. Especially for Barbie. Ken was too busy looking at cloud shapes, cacti, and wiry bushes to really notice that anything was severely wrong. Granted, Ken was the only one to not notice her flat feet when literally everyone else on the beach was freaking out and screaming because of them. Even Weird Barbie thought it was strange. She said she’d never seen anything like it before. And then the way she’d reacted when Barbie had told her the rest….
Going to see her felt like a nightmare. A horrible, horrible nightmare. Life was perfect. Everything was perfect. Her home, her friends, her body, her entire universe! Everything was just the way it was supposed to be. It always was. In all the years she’d existed, Barbie had never had so much as a knot in her hair, let alone a malfunction so bad that it warranted a visit to-
Ugh! She was starting to spiral. Her world had gotten so chaotic so fast that she was starting to go crazy, and that was only accelerating the problem. It was getting harder to keep her smile on her face. She could feel it trying to fall every time she stopped thinking about it. Smiling was always easier than breathing to her. To all the Barbies! …. And now her body doesn’t want to breathe either because she thought about it!
“Look Barbie! A rabbit!” Ken called excitedly, pointing out from the backseat of the car to a brown hare hopping a few yards away.
Wanting to distract herself from the chaos slowly overtaking her existence and threatening to completely envelope her body as well, Barbie looked out at the animal. She watched it move. It was… odd. To say the least. Alien, to be completely honest. In Barbieland, animals didn’t really move much. They counted as accessories. Not dolls. They didn’t have the joints to move the way that Barbies and Kens and Skippers and everyone else did.
But this hare was moving.
Its legs were pumping, carrying it along the sand at a fast pace. Barbie slowed down the car, her eyes glued to it. It was strangely majestic. And she came from a world where rainbows were more common than sunlight, mermaids appeared out of the water to say hi wherever they wanted, and glittery dresses could transform into brilliant fairy wings with a twirl. Her basis of comparison was odd, but that little creature was so-
Before Barbie could even work out her own thoughts, she hit a bump in the road. A very big bump. The kind that didn’t just cause the two passengers to jump out of their seats. The kind that made Ken fly out of the vehicle because he didn’t have his seatbelt on, and flipped the pink corvette onto its side, taking it’s still strapped in pink clad plastic passenger for a ride that she hadn’t been expecting when she asked to be sent to the real world. It wasn’t like when Ken startled her earlier in the day. The car had flipped yes, but it went through the air and landed back on its tires, no harm done. This wasn’t that. This was something else. Something that she’d never felt before.
Time seemed to slow to a crawl as the world turned sideways around her. Her blonde braid lifted off her shoulder and the seatbelt across her lap seemed to tighten, digging into her thighs. She screamed in a way she never had before. She’d felt fear, yes, but not like this. She didn’t think that any of the Barbies or the Kens had ever felt fear like this. It was like her entire body screaming right alongside her. Every inch, every joint, and sculpted line in her body tensed up and clenched tighter than Boxer Barbie’s fists.
The car landed on its side and skidded across the sand, Barbie’s head snapped back from the force of it, the seat digging into her back and pressing into something that wasn’t supposed to bend the way it was being forced to. It didn’t feel good. At all. This was the furthest thing from good she’d ever felt. Saying that it felt bad didn’t even do the feeling justice. It was worse than when she fell off her roof. And that had been the worst until this.
Distantly, she could hear Ken’s voice. He sounded like he was in pain too. Like he was just as scared as she was. He was calling out her name.
For a moment, things went black. Completely black. It lasted less than a second. One singular insignificant second in which absolutely nothing existed. No thoughts. No feelings. No sight or sound. Just darkness and perfect silence. It was so peaceful. Like everything was finally right in the world and she didn’t have to worry about flat feet or cellulite or a rip in the fabric of reality. It felt like that last blissful moment of sleep before getting up in the morning. Like she’d open her eyes and stare through the open roof of her dreamhouse at the beautiful blue sky above. She’d hear the voice singing her through her newest best day ever. And everything that happened since the dance party would only be as real as a bad dream, and forgotten just as quickly.
But that’s not what greeted her when she finally did.
She opened her eyes to an endless desert landscape. The pink corvette was overturned, crumpled on one side, and partially buried a few feet away. At some point, the seat belt must have snapped, because she wasn’t in the car anymore. She was laying on her stomach, her hair a mess around her face, cheek in the dirt.
She tried to sit up, but her body didn’t want to do anything. Her limbs throbbed and she felt her joints pop in an unnatural way as she lifted herself onto her knees. …. She was in pain. The most pain she’d ever felt in all of her years. It was awful.
She’d never feel something like this in Barbieland. Never.
Does that mean I made it to the Real World?
“Barbie! Are you okay?” Ken called as he rushed to her side. Looking up, she saw him limping towards her, a worried expression on his face. She wasn’t really sure how she was, but she didn’t want to scare him. She didn’t want to scare herself either. Looking at the positives, she could move. Nothing felt broken or bent out of shape. She wasn’t dead and/or thinking about being… well, she kind of was, but only as ‘Thank goodness I’m not dead!’ kind of thing. Not an ‘Oh no, I just died!’ kind of thing.
She smiled her perfect smile, though it didn’t feel right in the moment, and slowly rose to her feet. “I’m okay, Ken. Really. I’m fine.”
“Your hands are shaking.”
She looked down at them and saw that he was right. Her hands were shaking. Badly. She’d never seen anything like that before. Anywhere. On anyone. She’d read one of Dr. Barbie’s books once… but there was nothing about this kind of thing in there either. The book was mostly pictures of x-rays and instructions on how to mold a cast out of Barbie Dough.
“I’m fine,” she lied again, feeling it stick in her throat this time. “I’m perfectly fine. Everything is fine.”
Ken nodded and looked around. “That was… wow. I’ve never seen a car do that before. Where are we? Where’s the speedboat?”
“Uh… I think we’re almost there. We have to be, right? Weird Barbie didn’t give me any kind of timeframe for anything. Or specific instructions. She just said that we’d go from a sports car to a speedboat, to a rocket ship, to a tandem bike, to a camper van, to a snowmobile, to roller blades and go to the state of Los Angeles in the country of California. She said not to think about it too much.”
“I thought there was supposed to be some kind of portal at some point?”
“Apparently not.”
“…. Oh.”
Barbie looked at the wrecked car and then out into the desert again. She was starting to feel really hot. And something told her that she wasn’t the only one. Ken had already opened his shirt like he would on the beach. “I know you brought your roller blades, but I need to ask, did you bring any changes of clothes? Something that maybe won’t be so… inappropriate?” she asked, picking at the sleeve of her own pink top.
Ken nodded. “I might have brought a thing or too.”
“Good. We should change and then get going. Can’t be that much farther to the speedboat, right?”
Ken nodded excitedly then ran over to the car where it laid on its side. He popped open the trunk and all their things spilled onto the ground. The shoes, clothes, skates, hair ties, jewelry, and sunglasses.
Barbie put her hands on her hips, but didn’t say anything. Now wasn’t the time to complain. They were stuck with each other for the foreseeable future, lost and alone, with absolutely no idea what they were going to do or how. Weird Barbie just said that she would ‘know’ when she found the little girl playing with her. But she didn’t know how to get to the point that would allow her to know! She wasn’t Explorer Barbie or Rock Climber Barbie, or Girl Scouts of America Barbie. She was just Barbie. Stereotypical Barbie. She didn’t have anything special about her other than the name ‘Barbie’.
Why was her breath coming in so fast? Why was there pressure building in her chest and head?
She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. And another. And another. It was working. The pressure was going away. Slowly, but surely. She smiled again and opened her eyes. She looked through the clothes and found a resort outfit she had packed just in case she had to stay somewhere before going home. Specifically, the BarbieStyle Resort-Wear outfit. Tan high waisted wide leg pants, a salmon pink and white crop top with a v neck and puffy half sleeves, cat eye sunglasses, dangly gold earrings, black heels, and a tan clutch purse. She laid everything out in front of her and waited….
And waited….
And waited….
Weird. In the Dreamhouse, she just had to stand in front of her closet and her clothes would change. Actually, it was the same throughout Barbieland; in the boutiques and any general area with a mirror or a door. She just needed a place to stop and choose an outfit to wear and then she’d be wearing it. With all the places a Barbie could go and all the things she could do, quick changes were a necessity.
And yet… her clothes weren’t doing anything now.
Confused, she started to unbutton her top to put the clothes on manually. Then she paused. Ken was right next to her, having the same issue with his pale pink shorts, jacket, mesh shirt, white sandals, and sunglasses. Not wanting to make him feel the same way, she gathered up her things and walked around to the other side of the car, using it as a wall to separate the two of them. Then, she went back to taking off her clothes. The feeling was strange, and the action was one that she wasn’t used to doing, but it was conceptually simple enough. Pull over head and take arms out. Easy.
At least, it sounded easy. Her clothes were tight and didn’t want to come off. For a moment, she got stuck. She got the fabric over her head, but her arms were outstretched and trapped. Eventually, she got it worked out, but it did take her a few minutes to do it.
Once dressed, Barbie realized two things:
First, they didn’t have a way to carry their belongings now that the car was ruined. She didn’t think to bring any actual luggage. All her things fit in the trunk with room to spare and Ken wasn’t supposed to come with her.
Second, now that she wasn’t permanently on her toes, high heels didn’t feel as natural or comfortable as they used to. They hurt her feet and made it hard to walk for long periods of time. And, though she’d never noticed before, heels and the desert didn’t actually mix very well. The thin points sank in the loose dirt and the slick soles made the stones she stepped on roll beneath her, very nearly making her trip over and over again.
It couldn’t be that far, could it?
It couldn’t be that far….

There's this older lady at camp whose job is to watch the younger kids of the camp directors. They're all under 10 years old, not part of the actual campers here. That is it. And since day one, she has been constantly nagging me about hanging out, or including her in pictures and videos. You know, the thing I'm doing for the parents of the actual campers. She's the kind of person that will talk talk talk and not let you get a word in edgewise. Not even kidding, she threw me into a full blown panic attack because I made the mistake of taking her up on an offer to go on a store run at the start of everything.
So this week is trip week for the kids, they're all off on different trips. I'm here at camp to A: work on some camp long projects like organizing old files and getting the photo printer working. Stuff like that
And B: travel out with the food drops to 2 of the trip groups to capture footage and be here to capture when the biking and kayaking groups make their return.
With the teens gone, this lady, we'll call her F, has turned all her attention back on me because she's bored again. And then, she starts going on about how her friend runs a Tshirt printing business and needs a portfolio and oh could I please help set that up for her?
So I said: "My hourly is $75."
She looks full on shocked and offended. "Well it's just pictures, it's no big deal"
"Regardless, that's still setting up a website, organizing the pictures, collecting and posting contact information and that's if the pictures are even of a high enough quality to post without editing, which I highly doubt. And I am very busy. So. $75 an hour."
"But it's just pictures, it's easy-"
"It is a service. And I don't do free services. I am a professional. I have given you my price."
"Well can you at least send me the website for making one?"
"Since it's so easy, I'm sure you can find something that will work for you yourself."
Then I just left her sitting there at the lunch table.
As a terminal people pleaser, I tell you what I am riding that high of firmly saying no.
