CHROME CHAMBER RAVE
is a hard technoise rave event in Cyberpunk 2078 – Pandemonium that occurs every 1st Friday per month at the ‘HELL BUNKER’, an old underground air-raid shelter from the early 2000s, located in Woodland Street, in the underground of the Dark Matter Building complex in Japantown, Westbrook, Night City.
The entire concept of the Hell Bunker is red, black and silver/chrome (and so is that of CCR as the main event of the location). It was founded and initiated by the German DJ Falco 'Garnet' Ritter (together with Ryder). Several known DJs specialized on hard technoise play their music during the 3 days and nights long event. The genre played is 90 % pure hard technoise – it goes deep into every fiber of your bones, it can be very dark, apocalyptic and fucking hard for your ears, chrome and soul. Deal with it or attend a standard NUSA rave. The other 10 % are a bit softer, more melodic hard technoise that are mainly played in between the artists to give you time to regain your breath and stamina back and to freshen up as it is required to leave the heated floors in between for some fresh air. It gets steamy, hot, almost hellish down underground in the Hell Bunker as sweat will definitely drop from the chains on the ceiling after a certain amount of time. The installed fans aren’t capable of blowing the heat away when the bunker rooms are filled up with ravers to its maximum capacity. Taking pictures and videos inside is not permitted as Chrome Chamber Rave is a sexpositive event that follows a certain dress code with offering playrooms for its passionate ravers. The waiting line is often long and people will be selected at the entrance. If you do not match the taste of Chrome Chamber Rave you will not have a chance to see the bunker from the inside.

WANNA GET A SMACK OF THE NOISE PLAYED AT CCR?
Tumblr media
Have a 18+ long listen! Like that noise? We welcome you at the next CCR at HELL BUNKER!
This list has everything I consider fitting for the event. Most songs follow the dark themed almost apocalyptic path. There's tons of songs in there and there's even those I do not enjoy either but I thought, yo this is supposed to be an event you are attending and ofc you do not like every song played during it, so deal with it! if you do not like sth, just skip it and pretend you're going up for some air or imagine talking with new people you meet or get a drink at the bar. Have fun finding the melodic softer ones! I will keep adding songs as the hours of ca. 52h aren't reached yet. Fun fact (not so much): some songs have distorted voices saying words or whole sentences. Imagine this is BEAST talking to Ryder. You know Ry escapes into technoise as the music is louder than Beast is — yet it also is in the songs he keeps listening to. The questions is: is he only hearing the voice in addition or is it really in the song? Or is BEAST in everything?

Keegan HeadCanons: General Things Vol. 2
He keeps his apartment clean & doesn't live like a slob of a bachelor. He actually uses stonewear and glasses. No plastic cups or paper plates.
His apartment smells NICE. He may or may not own a scented candle.
This man can cook for himself...and it's GOOD. No bachelor chow here! Get him to make you a fajita salad or some other Tex-Mex fusion dish & your taste buds will go to paradise. He also likes to go grocery shopping and isn't afraid of spice. Also really likes pecan pie.
Keegan actually likes to read. He owns a well used copy of Rainbow Six.
Lead foot driver. Keegan has a tendency to speed no matter what. Better buckle up because you're easily going to go 15 over the speed limit.
Total coffee drinker. Likes it black with cream and no sugar.
Keegan loves his overcast days & it's a bonus if it's cold and rainy. Most people would want to stay in. Not Keegan. He'll go for a jog or just out. He thrives in this weather. If it's cold & misty out, then the weather is perfect for him.
He's a pretty routine kind of guy and only sticks to going to certain places like restaurants or stores. He's known as a 'regular' at these places.
His medicine cabinet has a bunch of vitamins including gummy vitamins for vitamin D (since he doesn't go out in the sun). He can swallow horse pills but doesn't like to.
Horrible finger nail biter. God save this man's cuticles. Once put iodine on his fingers to break the habit...it didn't work. Sometimes bites them until he bleeds.
Doesn't own pajamas. He'll just sleep in some loose boxers and be shirtless. He also has to have it cold to sleep. RARELY will sleep in the buff. This only happens if he's so damn tired. Like, knock-out-even-before-you-hit-the-bed tired.
Keegan has only been hungover once in his life. The headache was awful and he swore never again. He's actually stuck to this.
Works out at home or in his apartment gym. Hates big gyms & gym culture. Just let the man listen to his music and lift in peace!
Doesn't put the toilet paper on the spindle. He just leaves it on the back of the toilet on the tank. "Why would I? It's going to get used either way? What's the big deal?"

The date you were on the other night was disappointing - but the food was great! For some reason though, a chef from the restaurant took an interest in you. After crashing your date, he realised you were living right next to him all this time - and vows to court you until you're his! In this chapter, Sanji will bring your hungover ass some delicious breakfast and you'll get to know him (and his lips) a little better
Saturday morning. You woke up late, two glasses of wine really did knock you out, how pathetic. In uni, you could easily have double that and not even noticed. Sleepy and with a light headache, you check your phone - no message from Thomas. So he didn't like the date, either. No surprises there. Still stung.
You peeled out of your blanked for your morning ritual: a cigarette and coffee on the balcony. You caught your reflection in the mirror: yup, looking tired as fuck. Bags under your eyes, hair like a bird's nest and the general vibe of something that had existed for too long at the bottom of a handbag. Enough to scare the shit out of the judgy older lady from across the street when she would see you. It were the small things that made you happy.
You shuffled to your kitchen where you made a horrible discovery: Coffee was empty. Even scraping at the bottom of the tin can didn't produce enough for a cup, so you grumpily slipped into your fluffy robe, grabbed the pack of cigarettes and shuffled on to your small city balcony.
You lit one and watched the people on the street: an old lady with a cute dog, they were often walking by, so adorable. Joggers. Should do that, too. Sometimes. Not now. Woman on bike, looking fab. Damn, I should buy some of those workout pants, too. They look comfy! Hot blond guy with shopping bags, waving at someone. He looks like a snack. Cute cat yawning. Should get a fuckton of tho- wait a minute, you knew that guy. That was Sanji from yesterday.
Yet another cigarette became the victim of slack jawed staring between the two of you, sailing down to the street two stories below. Poor thing.
"Hey princess, I brought you coffee! On the house!" He shouted, grinning from ear to ear. "I got breakfast, too!" He had the inflection of someone luring an animal using treats. It worked well.
Your caffeine deprived brain couldn't fathom what was happening down there: the cook strolled towards the building and you lost sight of him. Shortly afterwards you heard a knock on your door. You ran inside to look through the peephole in the door.
What the fuck.
"Hey princess, I didn't know what you liked so I brought the classics!" his cheery voice could clearly be heard through the door and you saw his clear, blue eyes looking directly through the peephole in a fish-eye perspective.
"Can we maybe start at...WHY ARE YOU HERE? HOW?" You screamed at the door.
"I saw that you lived here, too! What a coincidence ! I just wanted to apologise for yesterday. Please let me make breakfast for you!" His muffled voice from behind the door sounded excited and way too cheery for this hour.
You listened to true crime, you were half sure that the guy was a crazy murderer, killing lonely women and possibly cooking them. But there was also a strong dependency on coffee and you were sure that you wouldn't make it to the supermarket in your state.
And it would be rude to refuse his offer. You removed the doorchain, unlocking the door. Sanji stood there with the widest, happiest grin you have ever seen, holding up a shopping bag full of groceries and with a duffle bag strapped around his shoulder. He was wearing fine pants and shoes and a very comfortable looking hoodie. The moment his eyes caught your sight they lit up with delight and a flow of barely discernible syllables bubbled from his mouth.
"There you are JUST LIKE I REMEMBER I will make you the best breakfast OF YOUR LIFE ❤❤❤" he mumbled like an old lady talking to her kitty cat. This weirdo was definitely not feeling dangerous enough to be a murderer. You stepped to the side. He moved past you into your apartment, looking around with open interest.
"How cozy! I love that chair - oh I know that book! Wow you have lots of plants, I somehow cannot keep them alive." He looked around like a tourist in the middle of a historic little town, slowly making his way towards your kitchenette.
"Uhm, it's not much, and it's not exactly cleaned up..." you apologised. Surely he was used to grade A equipment.
"It's fine, I have the same one, our apartments are quite similar." He explained, not showing the slightest sign of shock over your dirty little kitchen. "Besides, I brought some stuff." He sat the duffel bag down.
Humming to himself, he began unpacking and cleaning simultaneously like it was the most normal thing for him to operate in your kitchen. Dazzled, you fell into your comfy armchair and watched that tall, slender and overall handsome guy in your kitchen. He unpacked various ingredients and began rummaging through your cupboards, eventually finding a bowl and beginning to mix something. He even made a little show of flipping bottles around in his hand like a bartender or cracking eggs open with one hand. You felt a bit useless.
"Can I help...?" You asked, unsure of what you could even do.
"No, need. I'm cooking for you!" He turned around with a wink.
"Oh...ok." you said, getting up, feeling your headache again.
"I'm gonna...take shower" you decided and went to your small bath.
"Yes take your time! I'll call you when it's time to eat" he assured you.
Getting into the shower stall, your body slowly woke up. The hot water and flowery scent of your soap relaxed and refreshed you, soothed the ache in your head. Haven't had a man in here in...four years? And a handsome one at that. How strange. The realization of what was happening in your apartment at this moment was hitting differently now that you've awakened.
There is a hot guy. In my apartment. He's cooking breakfast for me.
Fuck, I look like shit. Fuckfuck! You decided to put as much effort into this as you dared. Quite frankly, you were out of practice. You washed your hair with the special expensive shampoo you once bought and never really used, you tried to peel and moisturize your face like you wanted to every day, and you put on a light perfume, that also just sat there for special occasions like today.
You snuck to your wardrobe in the bedroom. Outfit - what do you wear to a spontaneous breakfast with a guy who wears business casual on a saturday morning? A Blazer and blouse? The dress you wore to your sisters wedding? Standing in front of your wardrobe, you noticed that it was much too full but you still had nothing to wear.
You reminded yourself that he had already seen you at your (almost) worst, everything was an improvement. Deciding on a casual outfit, you grabbed a shirt and a pair of slacks and peaked into your living room/ kitchenette. Sanji had a towel over his shoulder, whistling as he cut a vanilla bean open. You came to stand next to him at the counter to look what he was doing. His sleeves were rolled up and he wore a black apron.
"Hey princess, there you are!" He greeted you as he took some cream out of the shopping bag and put it on the counter.
"Do you have to call me princess all the time?" You asked. "It's kind of making me uncomfortable."
"If you don't like it, I'll stop, mademoiselle" he told you with a wink. You rolled your eyes at him and he chuckled.
"Do you have something like a whisk?" he asked even though he already had a look around your kitchen.
You pointed to a cupboard above you.
"Thank you, mademoiselle" he said and smiled at you. As he moved to open it, you became once again aware of how tall he was. He reached over your head, getting extremely close and you caught the scent of his cologne.
He took out the kitchen utensil and began whisking the vanilla in a bowl together with sugar and the fresh vanilla. It was fascinating to watch his practiced movements and his joy while cooking.
He reached into his bag again and set a device made of metal on the counter, shaped like a bottle but with a few applications. You knew that thing from that one cooking show, but the name eluded you.
"Know what that is?" Sanji asked when he saw you staring.
"Of course" you say with your most confident voice, "that's a cream whipping thingy" you concluded.
He laughed from the bottom of his heart.
"Exactly! I'll have to tell my colleagues at the baratie about it's new name." He joked while he filled the device of unknown designation with the cream and screwed it shut.
"You know you can also use it for soup" he explained as he put it into your empty refrigerator.
"A whipped cream soup?" You asked and Sanji laughed again. His happiness was infectious.
"I'll show you another time." He promised as he started to prepare coffee beans with a small hand operated grinder. Another time? He was planning other times already?
"So, since you were on a date just yesterday I'm guessing you don't have a boyfriend? Or girlfriend?" He tried to ask casually, but his eyes were darting nervously as he spoke.
"No, I don't" you honestly answered and heard him exhale with relief.
"I bet the guys are all crazy about you!" He mused, watching your reaction. You snorted at that.
"Yeah, so crazy they're all running away" you commented, trying not to sound bitter and failing spectacularly. You added: "seriously, I think I am not made for dating. They all want to be 'just friends', guess I am that type of girl."
"Good to know that other men have no taste in women." He said happily. "Makes it easier for me" he continued. He cooked coffee now, pouring the hot water carefully over the powder. It smelled delicious. While the water turned into precious coffee he began setting the table. You were already reaching for the coffee pot like the junky you were when he caught your wrist. Even his hand felt soft.
"It's not done yet! I'll serve it to you when it's perfect to drink" he told you, turning your hand around in his and breathing the faintest kiss onto your wrist, causing you to blush violently.
"Just sit down while I add some finishing touches. You must be so hungry" he mused.
You wandered back to your comfy armchair on shaky legs, the tingle of his touch still fresh on your skin, looking at the beautiful cook working his magic in your tiny kitchen. When he began to set the table, you were still baffled by the variety and professional look of the foods.
There where beautifully decorated crepes with fruit and whipped cream, a steaming pot of delicious smelling coffee, bread slices surrounded by what looked like home made, savory spreads, fresh orange juice and some cooked eggs. It looked perfect and smelled like heaven. You took out your phone and made a picture to send it to your friend Chrissy to show off.
"Am I already making it to your Instagram? I feel honored" You heard him behind you as he peeked shamelessly into your phone, almost resting his chin on your shoulder.
"But let's not just look, let's eat." He waited behind a chair for you and pushed it to the table before he sat down himself, spinning the chair around and sitting down backwards, with his hands and head resting on top of the backrest.
You didn't know what you expected, but you were overwhelmed. "Uhm, why are you doing this again?" You asked insecurely - the best your ex ever managed was toast and marmalade.
"A beautiful lady deserves to be pampered" he answered in a serious tone. "Besides, I kind of lost my temper yesterday and crashed your date" he didn't seem sorry, in fact he grinned when he said it.
"So enjoy! I cooked up a luxury breakfast for you." His blue eyes sparkled with anticipation as you carefully loaded the crepe onto your plate, destroying the small masterpiece somewhat. You were normally not one to have breakfast, but the appetizing smell got you hungry.
The crepe was soft and warm, the cream tasted like vanilla with a hint of cinnamon. Its texture was perfect: creamy and fluffy, slightly buttery. It was perfectly balanced with the fresh, sour taste of the fruits. You could have moaned it was so good!
Ping
Ping
Ping
The constant ping of a cell phone was distracting you from the taste orgasm you were having. Opening your eyes, you saw Sanji, leaning on the backrest, staring at you with hooded eyes and an open mouth.
Ping
"Someone's messaging you I guess" you told him, ripping him from his trance.
"Oh, sorry! I should have turned that off." He took out the phone from his pocket and unlocked it. Being as nosy as he had been, you peeked at the screen - seeing the familiar design of a dating app.
Of course he was online dating. Every ping was a match, from the looks of it he got lots. Of course he was a player, the signs were all there, you just didn't want to see them. Suits, cooking, all that "princess" and "mademoiselle" bullshit. You scowled, hard. Years of training in the harsh world have made your scowl a powerful tool to broadcast your dissatisfaction to the world. Sanji understood immediately.
"No! It's not like that! I swear!" He held up his hands.
"I didn't say anything" you told him, surly.
"But you looked. Here, nothing is happening." He handed you his phone. What normal person does that?
You looked at his app, he had almost a thousand contacts, in this small town quite significant. Apparently, he was just matching every single woman he was shown, and most of them matched back. You navigated to the messages, he didn't protest. It really was sad.
He opened most conversations, all of them were a variation of "bonjour mademoiselle, I love you" and were read but ignored. The last messages were months old, he must have given up at some point. It was a strange display.
"You really thought this line would work? Just telling random women you love them right away?" You asked, unwilling to believe that someone would dedicate time and effort to this approach.
"It's no line!" He protested. "I love all women!" He said it as if this was a normal thing to say to a woman he currently was kind of flirting with.
"You won't get very far with that, this is too much too soon" you tried to explain.
"Why?" He asked seriously. "Love is good! Everyone wants to be loved!" He seemed very passionate about that.
"You don't just see someone and fall in love, that's not how it works, and it's not healthy" You were drawn into an obviously doomed debate but couldn't help it.
"No offense but, forcing yourself to date someone you don't like and doesn't respect you seems pretty far from love as well" he mused.
"Touche" you conceded, thinking about last night's disaster.
To your surprise, he blushed furiously and seemed strangely giddy all of a sudden.
"You are already jealous!" He said happily. "You want me so much that you are jealous, but don't be! The dating app didn't work because this" he pointed at himself and you" this is destiny!" He got up and swirled around like he was dancing, pouring you a fresh cup of coffee in the process.
"Just milk, no sugar" you reflexively said. He nodded and poured milk from a tiny carton into the cup. After the wine, the pasta, the dessert and the crepe, your expectations regarding this coffee were sky high.
You took a sip, Sanji almost leaned all the way over the table to savour your reaction.
It held up. The coffee tasted soft and just like freshly grounded beans always smelled. Like chocolate and nuts and warm summer mornings. You smiled as you remembered the delicious scent in the mornings of your childhood when the grownups drank their coffee while you had a whole day of playing ahead of you.
You heard a soft whimper from Sanji. He was staring at you with his mouth open.
"It's so nice to take care of someone who appreciates it." He said. "You're so sensual..." the last words were a husky whisper and his eyes fell shut. An unexpected kiss landed on your lips. It was nervous and hot and a little too wet, his eagerness getting the better of him. His little moustache tickled your face and you couldn't help but fondling that small goatee with your fingers. He kissed and touched you like a horny teenager, moaning as his tongue played around your mouth and his hands wandered over your body like he couldn't feel enough of you at once. His nimble, long fingers threaded through your hair.
It felt good, but it was too much. A guy with that kind of dating app approach was still a red flag. In a second, you could see your heart break when he left as soon as he got what he wanted. This was too easy, too perfect. Something was seriously wrong.
You pressed your hand against his muscular chest, but he didn't get the hint. He seemed to interpret it as you exploring him and he clutched your hand to himself, encouraging you to feel around more. It was seductive to just keep running your hand over his body, you could clearly feel his defined muscles under the soft fabric of his hoodie. But the doubt was too much for you to handle.
As his mouth broke away to kiss your hand, you managed to tell him: "Stop! Now!" He immediately let go and backed off, looking confused but still very much aroused. He was handsome with his lips red from a passionate kiss and his cheeks blushing. Too perfect.
"Did I hurt you? I am so sorry!" He wrung his hands and looked like a boy that had broken something expensive.
"No, it's just too fast. And I honestly don't know if I even want that right now." You explained.
He looked like you just stabbed him. Either he was the strangest, most naive man you ever met - or he was the best actor and most skilled asshole who would break your heart.
He turned away, looking hurt and small. But he was a grown man - he had to deal with rejection. You bet you weren't the first woman he startled. After a few seconds of hurt he seemed to get a hold of himself as he began to fidget with a zippo from his pocket.
"I am sorry I fell upon you like that. And kind of ruined the mood." He looked defeated, but composed. "I will be more controlled in the future. I am sorry!" He apologised with a smile that had to be forgiven immediately.
"Let's just be adults about this and forget it" you tried to somehow save the situation.
"No." He said decidedly.
"What?" You were confused.
"I'm never going to forget that. I don't want to act like I wasn't interested in you. I'll never ask for something in return when I cook for you, I promise. Please, let me cook for you in the future" he pleaded, absolutely losing you. What was his deal?
"So please, enjoy your breakfast" he said and sat down again to watch you. He explained all the foods to you in detail, making your head spin a little with all the information. He was almost like a podcast you could listen to while eating. Although your usual eating entertainment was Netflix. On the couch.
"So, after just now I hope it's not weird...but I brought the last classic for a fancy breakfast." He said a bit flustered.
"What is that? I am already stuffed..." You answered.
"Some champagne" He grinned.
"Did you really bring champagne?" You asked in disbelief.
"Just an open one from the Restaurant, we wouldn't sell that tonight anymore. But it's enough for two glasses and fresh enough." He explained, his relaxed smile back in place.
"Mhm, after yesterday I am a little hungover...just a sip?" You asked as he already poured two glasses.
You felt so tired and cozy, the table wasn't cutting it anymore. Actually, it has been ages since you used the small kitchen table - the couch was much more comfortable.
"Let's sit down here" you suggested and Sanji brought the glasses to your coffee table and sat down next to you with a wide grin and the bearing of someone who had just scored a win. He lay his arm on the headrest just above you and took one of the glasses.
"To destiny" He mumbled a toast.
"Destiny?" You giggled.
"Don't laugh! Do you think it's coincidence that you sit in my restaurant and an hour later I see that you live in my apartment building?" He said sternly.
"We live in a small town in a small building, we would have met sooner or later" you argued.
"Still destiny..." he mumbled with an adorable pout.
You touch your glass softly to his and say: "to daydrinking!"
He laughs. "To the good life" he returns the toast and you both drink.
The champagne is a bit too dry for your tastes, but surprisingly smooth. When was the last time you had a drink before noon? Probably some company event.
Looking at the handsome man on your couch, you deluded yourself into thinking you could have fun with him without attachment. Even in the moment the thought crossed your mind, it was as clear as the sparkling wine in your hand that you already liked him. He looked to inviting next to you, his outstretched arm creating the perfect space for you to rest your head. You leaned against him, feeling the soft fabric of his hoodie and his warmth once again. And it saved you from drowning in his eyes. He gasped a little when you touched him and began breathing really hard - good actor? Really naive? Doesn't matter now.
"Tell me something about yourself" you told him.
"Uhm mhm well I am a cook" he mumbled like his mouth was giving up.
"I know that" you told him. "What about family? Is this your family's restaurant?"
"Well kind of. More my stepfather. I don't really...it's complicated" he suddenly sounded like a normal person again. "But Zeff is really cool! And my colleagues at the restaurant are like my brothers." He told you about his stepfather, the restaurant and what kinds of menus he planned as you sipped your champagne. Between the hangover, a long week and a big breakfast - you were absolutely exhausted. Before you knew it, you drifted off to sleep, dreaming a pleasant dream about you and Sanji owning a small bistro somewhere nice and quiet.
When you woke up again, you were alone on the couch, afternoon sun bathed your living room in golden light, Sanji was gone. You lay outstretched under a blanket, the champagne was gone, too.
Fuck, now I fall asleep at a date? Is he mad at me?
The kitchenette is spotless, safe for the cream whipping thingy drying next to the sink. He cleaned up and left. Maybe you should bring him the thing? Or will he come and pick it up?
Undecided, you poured yourself the last cup of cold coffee. It tasted a little bland now, having lost its full aroma. You looked around your empty apartment and missed Sanji's cheery busyness already. Maybe you should just go and see where he lived. But you didn't even know his last name.
Years of online dating and unhealthy nosiness had given you the talent to find people by first name and extra info. You googled "Sanji" and "Baratie" and found an interesting newsarticle: "Success for charity" it said. "The local restaurant Baratie made a big leap for charity this weekend, inviting the children of the local community centre to cook delicious and healthy meals together. A win for the community and the children".
There was an adorable picture of Sanji, his arm around a cute little girl holding a plate of vegetables. The description read: "Sanji Vinsmoke showed the children that veggies can be tasty".
Bingo!
You would just stroll through the building and give him back his stuff and apologise for falling asleep on him. Like a normal, nice person. You were 99% sure that he didn't play games like "wait 3 days until you write" or something.
The halls of the building were narrow and long and it took you some time to find his name on one of the doors, it was on the opposite side of the building, no wonder you never bumped into him.
You pressed the doorbell, already anxious to see him again. Soft footsteps could be heard, the door opened. Your world crumbled a bit.
In front if you stood an absolute sexbomb of a woman. She wore Sanji's hoodie - the one you fell asleep on just earlier - and nothing else as it seemed. She had long, smooth legs, a perfect hourglass figure, full lips and the cutest face. Her pink hair was a perfect messy look. You stared. She looked annoyed.
"Yes?" She asked in a melodic voice.
"Uhm, is Sanji here?" You asked, trying to catch a glimpse of the flat behind her. She blocked your view.
"No, he is at work." Her answer was short and finite.
"I brought his cream whipping thing back" you stammered and indicated the device you were holding.
"Syphon" the woman stated.
"What?" You asked, confused.
"It's called a syphon. Thank you. Bye." The woman took the syphon out of your hand and closed the door, leaving you dumbstruck in the hallway.

Story prompt: I need a story involving Roger! Maybe something about his everyday job and including the Nomes.
I imagine that Roger has a lot of roles besides janitorial work. Hope this showcases that...
Title: What a Day Word Count: 1193 Characters: the Janitor, the Nomes, the Runaway Kid CW: Mild Language Use
Today was a long day. Roger the Janitor peeled off his shoes and flopped onto his squeaky bed. The impact made him hiss and reflexively touch his shoulder. He was so happy to find out that his only job was cleaning the sewage, until he did it. Scrubbing the pipes was more than he expected. He could have sworn he pulled a muscle or three, but the job was done. The old hag down in the Depths wasn't kidding when she said something needed to be done about the waste. The Guest were messy slobs, but wow. Roger rolled over to press his noes into the pillow. The sudden remembrance of the stench gave him a headache. He should go back into the shower to wash that out his mind, too.
Suddenly, a pair of scurrying little feet darted across his room. "Confounded Nomes," the Janitor grumbled. Roger waited, then snatched up the pair of intruders quickly. He was blind, but had the reflexes of a Jedi. "You two again! What do you little shits want?"
He knew these two Nomes well. They were suppose to be his personal assistants, granted to him by the Lady. Roger didn't need them, not really. But, they were freshly transformed Nomes. He was suppose to train them before assigning them real work. One Nome chirped fearfully, while the other acted as back up. Roger understood them, but wasn't in a merciful mood to care. He knocked them both on the head and dropped them to the floor. "Shut ya yapping! One at a time. Who's stuck?"
The Nomes slowed down and chirped one at a time. One said a sentence, and the other followed. The pair spoke like this giving Roger a bigger headache.
"So," the tired Janitor growled, "What you're saying is someone got stuck in a wall? Hah. Is it a kid or one of you lot?"
The Nomes looked at each other. One shyly squeaked out a polite but obnoxious question.
The Janitor snapped his teeth. "Is there a difference? One of yous is actually useful! Was it a kid or a Nome!?" He was losing his patience. All he wanted to do was eat a hot meal and crash. This inconvenience was getting on his nerves.
Likewise, the Nomes didn't like his attitude. The second Nome answered stiffly, with a flat yip to its tone.
Roger didn't like that sound. "Well, get them out yourself. You Nomes like to stick together, right? Surely you little shits can put your hats together to think of something."
The first Nome screeched out an objection, followed by the second one.
"Don't care!" Roger huffed and flopped onto his other side, facing away from the pair. "I'm tired. You two go do it!"
The Nomes stayed quiet for a second. One crossed them arms and whistled something snarky. It got the old Janitor's attention quickly.
"You do that, and the Mistress will kill you, kid!" He sat back up and faced the pair. His mouth twisted with anger. How dare they threaten to speak to the Lady about this. "Fine! Let's go!"
Roger followed the pair to the furnace room. The second he smelled the smoke, he started to worry. If there was a hole in a wall here, the smoke could easily travel upwards towards the Guests' dining area. The Lady would throw a fit and the Maw will start losing customers. He couldn't allow that. Once this stupid rescue mission was done, he'll patch up the wall. One of the Nomes squeaked in a higher pitched and Roger waddled faster. This needed to be done quickly.
The pair brought him over to the wall, where several other Nomes gathered in front of the crack. They all whistled and squealed urgently. "Outta the way!" He shoved past the crowd and placed his ear on the wall to listen. He was shocked to hear a child's voice shout back at him.
"Go away!" a familiar young boy's voice demanded.
"Seven!?" Roger placed his ear over the hole. "Whaddah doing in there?"
"Hiding, asshole!" The Runaway Kid stomped over to the hole and kicked as far as his foot could go. That was all Roger needed to catch him and yank him out. Seven yelped in pain when the jagged edges of the wall scraped his face and shoulders.
"You're suppose to be in bed, boy!" the Janitor snarled, ignoring the relieved cheers of the Nomes. "I swear, you brats are just as miserable as these little shits. If you weren't the Madam's "supposed" favorite-"
"I don't want to go back to the nursery!" Seven shouted, "And I'm not the witch's favorite! Let me go!"
"Why?" Roger brought Seven in front of his face. Another part of his was to keep the orphans confided to the lower parts of the Maw. It wasn't unusual for one of the children to try to escape from the nursery. They usually did so whenever they were hungry, spiteful, or upset; and he could tell Seven was in a bad mood.
"Why do you care, Spaghetti Arms?" Seven spat.
The Nomes gathered around Roger and Seven, chirping with concern. Roger knew the boy was a particular favorite among the Nomes. Something had to be definitely wrong with him with the Nomes sought him out for help. "Because it's also my job to make sure you brats have a mildly okay experience here."
Seven rolled his eyes. "Outstanding job, Roger."
The Janitor squeezed the Runaway Kid, causing the boy to yelp. "Listen, smarty pants. You can take it up with me or the Lady. Your choice."
Seven considered his choices. He looked down in defeat. "I just wanted to do something nice for the Old Hag," he murmured, "but I couldn't unclog the drains. I hope bleach didn't get flushed down with the sludge."
"THAT WAS YOU!?" Roger shook the kid. "THAT NASTY STINK WAS FROM YOU?"
Seven flinched from both sound and pain. "Y-yes! I read somewhere that kitty litter would work….and other stuff? And I added bleach to decontaminate everything. Sorry?"
"BOY, I WOULD-" Roger wanted to punch him. That gunk took all day to clear. And that smell? Roger's head instantly felt like a swirling fishbowl. He placed Seven on the ground. The Nomes hurried over to their favorite friend and checked his wounds. "Boy, if you ever decide to take it upon yourself to clean something, ASK ME FIRST!"
"…so, did you clean it?" Seven asked.
"YES I CLEANED IT!" The Janitor threw up his friends in exhaustion. "All this for a child. I'm going to bed…" He took a few steps forward before stopping. "Actually, you're going back to the nursery, and THEN I'll go to bed." Roger swiped up the Runaway Kid again and headed off.
"Owww! My shoulders!"
"Oh right…" Roger let go of the kid, and nudged him forwards to keep moving. "First, your injuries. Then, the nursery, then bed. Ugh…what a day." Roger strutted off. "C'mon, kid, before I drag you back!"
Seven rubbed his sides tenderly. He looked back at the Nomes, then followed the old Janitor quietly. What a day indeed…

HAUNTED
Pairing: D:BH!CONNOR x HUMAN!READER (gender neutral)
Words: 4.058
Warnings: TRIGGER WARNING! mention of suicide; odd behavior; cursing; hurt - comfort;
A/N: Another day - another request...
I really hope you like it! Thanks again for your idea.
Synopsis: You are a Detective of the DPD and had worked many cases with Hank. Until something went utterly wrong. Since then, you get haunted by your past until you see only one last way out. Luckily, Connor is there to help you.
"You know you don't have to do this.", you said serious.
Sara pulled the wire of the bug underneath her shirt before it got taped on her back, "Yes, but I want to. I have to. I owe it to my sister to do this. She shall find peace finally and like the Lieutenant said, me as her twin, I have the best chance to get this bastard. He doesn't know that she's dead. Therefore, I'm your best chance to get the information you need, Detective."
"Detective..."
"Detective."
"Detective, YLN!"
As if awakening from a deep trance like state, you focused back on reality as your name got called out. Haunted by your typical dark memories, you hadn't even noticed where you were. Slowly, you opened your eyes. The owner of the calm male voice stood on the outside of your car, next to the window of the driver seat, and looked concerned at you through the glass.
You blinked several times. The sun, which already fell through your windshield because it stood so high in the morning sky, made you blind for several moments and as you moved, you noticed your aching back and neck from sleeping in the car in an unhealthy position. Obviously, you had knocked yourself out with booze again.
"Detective YLN, my name's Connor. I'm your new partner. I'm the android sent by CyberLi- I got sent from Captain Fowler to meet you. Rather, he sent me to find you because you missed a meeting this morning. And now, he wants to see you.", Connor said and watched you. Even if he had already learned a lot about human behavior from Hank, there were still some mysteries to solve.
Like: why are you sleeping in a car in a position that harms eighty percent of your muscle tissue through soreness and lets your bones and joints burn like fire when you move?
Or: why are you drunk this early in the morning-
"Hey, tin can! Shut the fuck up!", you shouted.
Connor stared at you in shock as he realized that he had asked the questions out loud instead of just thinking about them. A habit he started with as Hank had left the DPD to retire finally, "I'm sorry, Detective. I haven't notice-"
"Yeah, yeah, yeah... what do you want, Carlos?", you asked, searching for your flask you couldn't find.
"My name's Connor, Detective. And as I said, Captain Fowl-"
"Oh, yeah... the meeting... right. Get in the car.", you ordered and even if Connor was sure that it wasn't a good idea for you to drive in the state you were, he also knew that any kind of discussion would lead to nowhere. He still knew that from his time with Hank.
**
Twenty minutes later, for a way that only took ten minutes usually, you, followed by Connor, entered the DPD which was crowded with androids, policemen and people who were complaining about some uninteresting nonsense. You made your way through all these people, trying to dodge as many colleagues as you could - but of course, one of them caught you. Like always.
"Hey, YN! This is the DPD and not some bar. You won't find any kind of booze around here."
"Just shut the fuck up, Reed! Or otherwise, I will tell everyone that you own some pair of bright pink panties- oh, upsi! My bad!", you called out, gleaming at him with a smirk. Everyone started to laugh.
Gavin stared at you with a hate-filled glance, he was fuming, "Fuck you!", he muttered.
"Oh, sweet. That's all you got, Reed?", you shot back with a grin.
But before Gavin could respond to anything, Captain Fowler stepped out of his office, "Detective YLN! In my office!"
"And? Who's laughing now?", Gavin said with a smirk and winked at you before he left the DPD to do some work.
Connor closed the door of the office behind him as you were inside. You walked over to the Captain's desk to sit down in one of the chairs but even without looking up you sensed the anger radiating from your boss. It was tangible in the air. Without asking, you took one of the fresh glasses on Fowler's desk to throw an aspirin into it. Then, you pulled out the flask you had found finally to fill the glass with a transparent liquid.
Fowler watched you, half shocked and half concerned, "What are you doing?"
"Taking an aspirin, Sir. I have a murderous headache."
"And what was in the flask if I may ask?"
"Vo- uhm... water. Just water, Sir.", you answered before you gulped down the bubbling mixture.
Fowler looked from you at Connor who also seemed to be concerned about the fact that you had mixed pharmaceuticals with alcohol before the Captain looked back at you, "Where have you been this morning? We had a meeting."
You put the empty glass back on the desk, "Oh, yeah... the meeting. I'm sorry, Sir. I was on observation and obviously, I lost track of time.", you explained, leaning back in the chair, waiting for the aspirin and ‘water’ to do its magic.
"Observation, huh? For what case? What's the file number?", Fowler asked, leaning back in his own seat, folding his hands in front of him while waiting for your answer.
"Oh, yeah... the file number. One moment, Sir-"
Fowler slammed his plane hand on the desk's surface that you were jumping in your seat, "Cut this shit, god dammit! You have no file number because you have no current case, Detective! Let me guess, Connor had found you sleeping in your car, right? How many nights had it been this time?"
You kept eye contact but you gave him no answer. You just gritted your teeth and pressed your jaws together.
Fowler sighed, "Listen, YN, you're a great Detective but since the things with Sara happened-"
"No!", you called out, jumping from your chair and stopping the Captain mid-sentence with your sudden outburst, "We won't talk about this!", you said serious before you turned around to let your glance roam through the office with all the busy people, "Alright, Sir. What's the matter with the android? Monitoring what I do and what I don't do?"
"Connor is the former partner of Hank-"
"Oh and now, Hank doesn't want to play with it anymore so you give it to the next screwed up cop you can find?", you asked, turning around to look at Connor with his fancy clothes and neat hairstyle before you looked back at the Captain.
"Hank retired two weeks ago. I thought you knew that.", Fowler said and looked even more concerned at you.
"No, I'm sorry. I didn't get invited to any funny parties nor did I got a notification. But who cares. So, the android's with me then? How long?", you asked emotionlessly.
"It's your partner now. Brief it into your cases-"
You stepped forward, aiming for the door, "Cases, Sir? What cases? You already said I have none.", you pointed out while leaving the office.
Fowler watched after you, not amused about your unpredictable behavior and the fact that you were carrying a gun.
"Sir?", Connor asked and brought the Captain back from his thoughts.
"Yeah... Listen... as you can see YN has a few problems. They used to be a good cop in the past until one of the cases they and Hank had operated went wrong. The anniversary is in two days and I fear... well...", Captain Fowler stopped himself, watching you grabbing a coffee from the kitchen.
"I will keep an eye on them.", Connor said and left the office as well.
*
Connor was surprised how carelessly you were in managing your cases - even if it were just a few. There was nothing special or difficult and yet, you weren't able to file the cases properly, "Detective, this report here, I'm not sure to which case it belongs.", Connor asked as he had read an interview of a woman who had reported her dog as missing. Added to that, the interview was part of a file about an armed theft in the heart of the city. There was no connection at all to these two cases.
Without looking up, you took a folder from your desk to hand it over to Connor, "Yeah...here. That's the case you're searching for."
Connor took the case and skimmed through the pages several times before he looked at you, frowning, "Detective, this is a file about a stolen android.", he pointed out.
"Yeah, just ... put the page in this file. I'm sure it will be right.", you said, ignoring the android's expression.
"Detective, I'm not sure-"
"Excuse me, I need some more coffee.", you cut him off, standing up to aim for the kitchen with your mug in your hands.
"And I thought Hank was challenging.", Connor whispered under his breath and shook his head while he still tried to figure out which pages were parts of which cases.
"You're a murderer, Detective! That you still think yourself as worthy enough to call yourself a cop is way out of my understanding!", a jarring, female voice echoed through the office and drew the attention of everyone to her and to the person that stood in front of her - you.
Connor craned his head to watch the scene like everyone else did. But while the attention of the others was because of curiosity and spitefulness, Connor watched you and your bodily reaction to the woman's accusations. You stood there like a timid fawn. The cockiness you presented before seemed to be gone completely. Your heart rate increased, you were shaking and your eyes became big as if you were intimidated by the woman in front of you. The woman stepped even closer and Connor watched, surprised, that you stayed where you were. Easily, you could have escaped the unknown woman and yet you stayed rooted to the spot.
"Because of you I lost both of my daughters! I already have lost the one and yet, you thought it would be fair to take the other away from me as well!", the woman screamed erratic, tears were already running down her cheeks but she was still not able to stop herself and no one else was brave enough to step into the scene, "You and your partner will pay for what you have done! You will burn in hell for that!"
"Chris! Escort Mrs. Mason into my office!", Captain Fowler ordered and stopped the woman's outburst even if it was a bit too late.
Connor saw tears building in the corners of your eyes. Quickly, your glance scanned the area but the only way you could find was the way out. You aimed for the precinct's main entrance to leave the building in a hurry. Connor followed you. He ran through the office and left the building as well but as he stepped onto the pavement you were nowhere to be seen. Like a ghost, you had vanished between all the other pedestrians.
**
Hank had just taken a new beer to watch the next half of the Detroit Gears game as someone rang his doorbell. In the penetrant way how this person used his doorbell and the way how Sumo reacted, Hank knew who the visitor was, "Connor, hey. What are you doing here? It's a bit too early to go for a walk with Sumo.", the older man said but he already saw that something else was bothering the android.
"Yeah, actually, I'm not here because of Sumo.", Connor said.
Hank let him in and Connor came straight to the point that kept him busy, "One year ago, you and Detective YLN had a case together. But something went wrong. What exactly happened? I couldn't find the case file."
Hank frowned, "Why do you ask?"
"Captain Fowler teamed me up with Detective YLN because of the anniversary of this case. He's concerned about the instability of their constitution."
Hank shook his head. He missed working with the android but he didn't miss the long-winded explanations of him. Then, suddenly, he became serious again, "Instability, huh?"
"Yes. They seem to be so unpredictable in their behavior that Captain Fowler fears something worse will happen because the anniversary would be in two days. I ... I found them this morning sleeping in their car.", Connor explained with a frown.
Hank raised his brows in surprise and at the same time, he felt worried, "YN and I, we... In the past, we worked together on some cases. Well, that changed with our last case. Lynn and Sara Mason.", he said slowly, feeling the pain stinging his heart as he remembered what had happened one year ago.
"Why couldn't I find much about it in the archives of the DPD?"
Hank stood up from the couch, walking over to the book shelf to pull something out that was hidden between his several jazz vinyl. He walked back to Connor, offering the android the case file but stopped as Connor was grabbing for it, "You just can find the basics of this case because I kept it printed. Some wounds are so deep, it's better if not everyone is able to find a tool to reopen them all over again.", he said and gave Connor the file finally.
***
The next day, Connor drove again to your place and was happy to see that you weren't sleeping in your car again. As he knocked at your door, you opened him with a smile. You had taken a shower, your hair was still damp and your clothes were all fresh and clean. Connor noticed that you weren't accompanied by the scent of alcohol and he even couldn't smell anything in your breath as you talked with him.
"I... I want to apologize, Connor. Our start yesterday wasn't the best. I'm looking forward to working with you. I'm sure we will make a great team."
Connor knew you just one day, not enough to understand a person completely, and yet he had the strange feeling of something going on that occupied his mind suddenly by the way you acted.
"Oh, can you call a taxi?", you asked while sipping on your coffee.
"What happened to your car, Detective?", Connor asked surprised while ordering the vehicle.
You smiled at him, "Oh, I sold it. I will have no use of it anymore. And please, call me YN."
To Connor's surprise, your behavior stayed kinda strange even if he couldn't say what it was exactly. You and Connor went early to the DPD. On your way in, you talked with colleagues. You joked with Chris and as Gavin entered the kitchen, you pressed a cup of coffee into the Detective's hand which left him utterly confused.
Gavin stopped Connor by stepping into his way, "Hey, tin can. Is this coffee drugged or what is going on here?"
In the way Gavin looked at Connor, the android noticed real unease, "No, Detective. The coffee is not drugged or anything. I guess others would call it 'tasty'. You can drink it.", he said but looked frowning at you. As Connor left Gavin, the green-eyed man was still sniffing suspiciously on the hot liquid as if the mug might contain acid instead of his most favorite beverage.
Connor went back to the desk opposite of yours and was surprised to see how you cleared out the different pages of the case files. Several small piles were lying in front of you while you tried to bring them into the right order and to collate them.
Later that day, Connor was puzzled as you went to the Captain to apologize to him as well as you had done it with Connor in the beginning of the day. You apologized for your behavior the day before and of all the past weeks, "I know I did a few things wrong, Captain. But I promise to change that in the future. In fact, the change will happen soon and then, everyone will be pleased with me again.", you said before you took your jacket to leave the precinct.
Connor looked at the Captain and saw on the man's face what he was thinking: strange.
‘Strange’ was the only word Connor could find to describe your work day even although you were acting practically perfect. You were nice. You had sorted your cases. You had apologized for your behavior. And yet, something was odd. Something felt wrong. Connor sensed that something was ... going on. But he couldn't put his finger on it. So, out of instinct, Connor followed you and drove to your place with a taxi.
As he knocked at your door, you opened, smiling at him and dressed in a bathrobe, "Oh, Connor, hey. What is it? I just wanted to take a bath."
Surprised, Connor looked at you. He was sure you had taken a shower this morning so there was no need to take a bath and then, he reminded himself that he still had not much knowledge about humans and their several oddities, "Yeah, I ... I just wanted to ask if everything is alright, Detective.", he said honestly.
You smiled at him, "Of course, Connor. Everything is more than alright. I just need some time to relax and tomorrow, everything will make sense to you and the others. Thanks for checking on me, that means a lot to me. Goodnight.", you said and closed the door.
Connor stared at your closed door for several moments before he stepped slowly back to walk down the hallway. Since he turned deviant, Connor's systems needed a bit longer to process information - not much, it were just seconds, but sometimes that could be more than enough.
As Connor was still connecting the different dots and hints you had spread the whole day, Hank called him, "Connor! Where are you?"
"I'm leaving YN's place. They want to take a bath. Why? What's the matter?", Connor asked as he sensed the slightly concerned undertone in Hank's voice.
"You have to go back, Connor! Go back to them! YN hates to bath!", Hank demanded worried.
Even if Connor was confused, he turned around, walking back the way to your apartment, "Hank?"
"I just got a letter from YN. It got brought by a delivery man. It's a handwritten suicide letter. Hurry and stop them!", Hank ordered.
Connor ended the call, hurried down the corridor and without knocking, he broke down the door of your apartment. Quickly, Connor ran through your small apartment, already seeing the door of your bathroom ajar. He stormed into the room and the second his eyes landed on you lying in the bathtub with the razor blade between your fingers, he was by your side, taking the blade away to throw it into a far corner before you could even cut. Slowly but demanding, Connor dragged you out of the water, took a towel and laid it around your shaking frame because you already were ice cold. Obviously, you had filled the bathtub with cold water to support a fast sleep while your blood would have drained from your body after the cut.
You were screaming and yelling for Connor to let go of you. You demanded the razor back and that he should leave your apartment but Connor ignored everything. You punched against his chest with your fists but Connor stayed unimpressed, determined to save your life. With a strong grip, he wrapped you into the towel and also laid the bathrobe around your shoulders before he guided you out of the bathroom. You were still struggling in Connor's arms to get free. All you wanted was to end what you had started. Desperate, hot tears were running down your cheeks as you were crying violently about the fact that you were still alive. Alive and alone with the memories which were still haunting you like mean demons.
Connor placed you on the couch, sitting next to you and wrapping his arms around your frame to give you even more support and comfort while you cried against his chest, "Please, just let me die...", you cried out between two heavy sobs.
"No, Detective. I have to refuse your request."
"Cut this 'Detective' shit. Just call me YN, god damnit.", you whimpered helplessly because now, everything was just worse than you had expected. You had planned everything and yet, the android was there to destroy your neatly made plans, "What are you even doing here, Connor?"
"Hank received your letter and called me right on time."
You leant closer against Connor's chest with closed eyes, seeking the android’s presence while cursing about yourself, "Hell, the letter. I should have changed the delivery time to a later one. Then, everything would be over. All the pain. All the guilt. All the haunting.", you breathed with a sad voice.
Connor tightened the embrace around you even more, "It's about Sara Mason and her sister, isn't it?", he whispered softly, placing his chin on top of your head to enclose you even more.
You nodded, not surprised that Connor already knew it, "Yeah... it's my fault that Sara died. It's my fault that her mother lost both daughters.", you cried out, clawing into Connor's white shirt with your fingers.
"Well, I read the file. Sara came up with the idea to get bugged and to infiltrate the drug dealer who had killed her sister Lynn. I mean, the idea was good. It was just bad luck that the dealer already knew about Lynn's death and looked right through the façade you and Hank had planned.", Connor said softly. To calm you even more, he stroked soothingly over your back with his hands.
You leant back to look into the android's face and for the first time, you noticed the incredibly intense, brown color of his soft eyes, "Y-you don't understand. Not even Hank knew that but Sara didn't come up with the idea to get bugged on her own. I dropped this idea as I was alone with her and manipulated her to think it was her own idea. I mean, how evil can someone be to do this, huh?", you asked, closing your eyes about this painful memory.
Connor cupped your face, knowing that humans needed physical contact to feel secure and safe and he wanted to provide you both as well as he could. He was glad to see that you opened your eyes again and that you stayed where you were, "Listen, neither you nor Hank nor someone else could have known every single possibility in this case. The idea was good. The Captain said the same in his official statement. But ... Look, kid, sometimes bad things happen, and you can't do anything about it.", he said softly.
Through a sob of new tears because Connor was the first for a very long time that was caring about you this much, you chuckled low, "Have you... did you just quote the Lion King to cheer me up?"
Connor looked slightly caught with a sheepishly smile playing around his lips, "Yeah... Hank said I should improve my knowledge about pop culture. I binge watched all the Disney movies I could find last week. I thought this quote was suitable... Or did I have done it wrong?"
You chuckled a bit more about his innocence and strong will to help you, "No, it was pretty good. Thanks for... you know... thanks for being here with me.", you whispered low, feeling your cheeks reddening.
Connor leant back on your couch, bringing you close to his chest so you could snuggle against him, "I'm your partner now, YN. And partners are looking out for each other. You can count on me no matter what it is.", he said softly and after five minutes where he just stroked comforting over your back, he noticed your even breathing that told him that you had fallen asleep. Hank called and without making too much noise, Connor briefed his former partner that you were alright.
You were still alive. You still had a long way to go to leave your haunting ghosts behind but Connor was sure you would make it. You were strong enough to do it - and he would be by your side to support you as promised.

London Calling - 1
Tumblr media
Yes, I'm still in my August phase and I'm not even sorry...I just can't stop thinking about the sexy mf and so this idea crossed my mind and turned into a storyline. I have to admit I'm even more nervous about posting this than usual because it's a little different from what I've written before and I really hope it's not going to bore the shit out of you. If you like this although the tension between August and my ofc builds slowly, please let me know. I appreciate every single comment, reblog and/or like! Thanks 💜
Pairing: Augut Walker x OFC (Lu Johnson)
Words: ~3.0 k
Summary and A/N: This story plays with the thought of "what if…" What if August Walker had taken another road? What if he had turned into John Lark for completely different reasons? What if he had found love before becoming a bitter, disillusioned man?So the events of "London Calling" take place about ten years prior to MI:Fallout and August Walker hasn't joined the CIA yet, he's an FBI Agent and his new mission in London that lies ahead of him is going to be a challenging one. Maybe it's even going to change his life.
Warnings: 18+! This story deals with the topic of a toxic/abusive relationship, gaslighting and problematic behavior of one of the protagonists in general. Please don't read if these topics trigger you or make you feel uncomfortable. Luckily I've never been in any kind of toxic or abusive relationship, so I lack personal experience but I hope still do this sensitive topic justice.
English is not my mother tongue but the lovely @sillyrabbit81 was so kind to be my very helpful and patient Beta! Thank you so, so much, bunny 🐇💜 You have no idea how much I appreciate your support, your encouragement, your help and the fact that you took the time to proofread this. (Edited by me, so there might still be mistakes and they're all mine)

So...now...off we go...story under the cut!
1
"London? Are you kidding me, Kyle?"
August Walker stopped pacing the room with an incredulous frown. He raised his eyebrows, his blue eyes fixed on the other man's face.
"Absolutely not," his superior and close friend of many years said slowly, drawling both words more than necessary to stress that he wasn't joking. "They want you in London."
"What about my promotion? You gave me your word. You wanted me to finish Operation Old Bridge and that's what I did. You wanted Tony Salerno's head on a silver platter, that's what you got."
August's voice was surprisingly calm, his expression blank but his gaze was blazing with anger and frustration. His hands were balled into fists and he only opened them to lean on Kyle's wooden desk, which was very tidy, except for the piles of case files that slowly grew larger than him.
"Damn, Kyle, I risked my life when I went undercover and joined this Mafia mob."
"I know, August, but unfortunately my hands are tied. Interpol wants our best undercover Agent and that's you. Just this last job and afterwards you can happily join the CIA." SSA Kyle Langdon leaned back in his chair and clasped his hands behind his neck with a sigh and an apologetic shrug.
"That's exactly what you said last time. Do you expect me to believe you?"
"As I said, it's not my doing. Manchester contacted Bill because the NCB needs help, blue notice, August. You know that we cannot say no and that means...London calling, man," Kyle pointed out with a smile. "You should be grateful, it's a great opportunity. So just do your job there, return and get your promotion."
"Why don't you just send someone else and I get my promotion right now? We have many great undercover agents. Craig for example. He's crazy about British pussies. He'll love London." August straightened his tall body before crossing his arms in front of his broad chest that was forced into a white button down shirt and a black suit jacket.
"No, Craig cannot go because they want you in this operation. They asked explicitly for Agent August Walker. That's a huge appreciation of your work and a big compliment. You're only 27, August, not many FBI agents are this well known and respected at such a young age." Kyle sat up straight, mirroring August's body language.
"I don't give a shit about their respect and appreciation. I know my worth and I know I'm your best agent. I've worked very hard to get where I stand now... just one step away from becoming a CIA agent," August said angrily, his brows furrowed, his eyes dark. "Fuck, Kyle...why use an American agent in a purely British matter in the first place? They could easily…"
"Listen, August," Kyle cut in and he got up and walked around his desk to face his friend, "the thing is, I am not asking you to do this, okay? It's not a request, it's an order. There's no room to negotiate."
He gave him a friendly smile to temper his words before placing a hand on August's shoulder. "No hard feelings. It's…"
"It's the job. Yeah. I know." August took a step back and nodded his head slowly, curling his lip. He had heard his boss say these words so many times and he hated that line although he was perfectly aware that it was the truth. That was the way it worked. They got orders, they did the job, no matter what. He took a deep breath and pinched the bridge of his nose, closing his eyes for a moment, feeling a bad headache brewing behind his forehead.
"I have already talked to Sloane about this. Erica seconds the motion by Interpol because she wants you to prove yourself in another operation abroad. If you are successful you will be part of her team. It's simple, Walker. Just don't fuck this up."
"I've never fucked anything up,” August snarled, clenching his teeth, his jaw grinding.
"See, that's exactly why they want you,” Kyle answered with a triumphant smile.

"Lu!" Adam Mayfield knocked impatiently on the bathroom door. "Get ready. We're going to be late." He glanced at his Rolex with an annoyed sigh before he straightened his tuxedo jacket and adjusted his bow tie for the umpteenth time. "God damn, this meeting is important." He banged his fist against the door again and rolled his eyes when he heard her muffled voice behind the bathroom walls. "Just a minute, Adam."
Although he was really a little angry that it took her so long to get ready, they weren't actually late, in fact there was more than enough time to meet up with his clients at The London Opera. He had just said that to make her hurry up. Lu had the tendency to dawdle around, she got easily distracted and it was his responsibility to help her with that bad habit and usually it worked well.
Compared to the woman she was when they had met at a party more than five years ago, she had improved her behavior a lot, thanks to his efforts and his strict education. She had been common as muck when they started dating, an ordinary working class girl, smart but not a bit sophisticated, pretty but with no sense of fashion or taste, ambitious but without any connections. He had changed that, he had moulded her into the beautiful, stylish, refined and cultured woman she was now. She was his work, his success, his pride...she was his.
When the door of the bathroom that was adjacent to the master bedroom finally swung open, the welcoming sight of his fiancee interrupted his thoughts and picked up his spirits immediately.
"Wow, this was worth the wait." He eyed her up and down with a smirk and leaned in for a kiss but she stopped him with her hands pressed against his narrow chest.
"No, you're gonna ruin my make-up, darling." Lu smiled at him and spinned around to present him her dress. The black, belted Burberry gown was elegant and classy. High-necked on the front but with a low back that showed off lots of her perfect, lightly tanned skin. Chaste and sexy at the same time, just the way Adam liked it.
"That dress is stunning, baby. You look wonderful." He grabbed her by her waist and pulled her close to leave a sensual kiss on her slim neck while his hands wandered to her ass where they rested for a moment before they squeezed her firm cheeks. "I really hope you're not wearing any panties."
Lu freed herself from his embrace with a frown and stepped in front of the large wall mirror opposite of their king-size bed to check her reflection one last time, tucking a strand of blonde hair behind her ear.
"Of course I'm wearing panties. We're going to the opera with your VIP clients." She walked to her dressing table and took the diamond-encrusted, leaf-shaped brooch Adam had given her for their five years anniversary on New Year's Eve. "Would you help me with this?"
Adam took the piece of jewelry from her slim hand and pinned it carefully on her dress, right above her heart. He kissed her tenderly but his expression was stern when he spoke. "Strip it off."
Lu's eyes grew wide. "What?"
"You heard me. Get rid of your thong. I know you're wearing one of these slutty, tiny g-strings to make sure your look is flawless and your underwear doesn't show under your dress." His face hardened slightly, yet his voice remained soft and smooth.
"But…"
"Don't test me, Lu,” he said slowly, still smiling but screwing up his beautiful grey eyes. "I want you naked underneath that dress in case I want to have a little fun with you tonight. I mean, we both know Rigoletto is gonna be boring as fuck, we may need a little distraction." He gave her a lewd smirk and with a tiny frown and a raise of his brows he motioned her to be obedient. "You don't want anything to get in my way, do you? Not even a little piece of lace, right?"
"Of course not, Adam," she answered softly with a smile she had to force onto her lips. Lu reached under her dress with shaking hands and pulled down her panties till they hit the floor so she could step out of them carefully, making sure they wouldn't get tangled up in her stiletto heels.
"Good girl," Adam said with a wolfish grin and with a sly smile he added, "you know what, baby? I think I'm going to have a little fun with you just now. My clients can wait."
Lu didn't even try to argue with him, knowing exactly that she was in a no-win situation. She closed her eyes and turned around, lifting up her dress, when she heard him unzip his fly.

While Adam Mayfield was fucking his fiancee in front of a mirror in one of the most exclusive penthouses in London, August Walker was having a bad coffee, sitting at a table in the plain and pretty ugly meeting room of their FBI department at the J. Edgar Hoover Building in Washington DC, listening to the explanations of Kyle and the lead of 'Operation Brutus', Christine Carpenter. He didn't like her much but he respected her competence and her leadership qualities and most of all he trusted her with giving him the perfect fake identity for the job in London.
"So, what do you have for me, Chris?" August looked at her with a smile, but his eyes gave away that he'd rather be somewhere else.
"Well, let me just explain the background first, okay?"
She pressed a button on her laptop and the handsome face of a young man appeared on the screen behind her.
"This", she nodded at the picture, "is Adam Arthur Clive Mayfield, 27 years old, only son of Alfred Mayfair and his late wife Erica, heir of the immense family fortune and the private bank Mayfield & Holmes, that was established by his ancestors more than 200 years ago. He is one of the most eligible bachelors in the United Kingdom, and one of the richest, too. His father officially still runs the family business but he isn't in the best state of health, so in fact Mayfield junior is the one who's at the helm. Unlike his father he's not a man of integrity, he's been on the radar of the British authorities for years. From dealing drugs and other minor crimes in his college years to insider trading, investor fraud, misappropriation and money laundering nowadays. He is a big fish, has connections all over the world, drug rings, gun runners, human traffickers, you name it."
"And the Brits are not able to catch him without my help?" August couldn't help but smirk cockily.
"Don't be so full of yourself, Walker. The problem is, he is a damn genius. IQ score beyond 150, very clever, very cautious, a strategic mastermind, always ahead of the authorities. They tried to infiltrate his business a few times but they failed miserably, so now they want to concentrate on his private life."
"And this is gonna be my part?"
"Exactly," Kyle said, getting up to join Christine in front of the screen. "He has a few bodyguards he always hires from an American agency. They are known for their discretion and loyalty and the bodyguards they place with their clients are the best of the best. Unfortunately one of his bodyguards died in an accident a week ago and now he needs a new one. Luckily, we have the owner of the agency by the balls for several major crimes. He cooperates or he will end up behind bars for the rest of his life."
"To cut a long story short, he will place you with Mayfield and you can become part of his daily life. Your job consists of monitoring and collecting information and data. I will give you an exact briefing later," Christine finished Kyle's explanations.
"So I will just be his lapdog?"
"Not his," Kyle grinned, "hers."
The picture on the screen changed, now showing a young, blonde woman. The second he saw her, he judged her.
He could tell what she was like, just by her looks, by the way she jutted her chin in the picture, by her perfectly manicured fingers, by her flawless make up and the expensive clothes. He knew women like her, a walking stereotype, the blond, beautiful Trophy Wife Barbie that's always by Millionaire Ken's side. Pretty on the outside, boring on the inside. Lame bimbos that only lived for showing off their designer clothes and it-bags, tripping around in high heels that cost more than he earned in a month, finding self-fulfilment in stupid things like designing overpriced furniture, running a yoga studio or doing charity stuff. Useless, needless but still blueprints for millions of girls who would literally give the shirt off their backs to catch themselves a rockstar, a famous actor, a hyped football player or just a rich heir.
"This is Mayfield's fiancee," Kyle said, pointing at the photo, "you're gonna be her personal bodyguard."
"How am I supposed to monitor him, when I have to be on her heels all the time?"
"You're gonna live with them, there will be lots of opportunities. Just make her trust you, we need her to open up, get her to talk. They've been together for years, she should know what he's involved in," Chris explained and she made it sound easy when in fact it wasn't only hard to gain a stranger's trust, in this case it was even dangerous.
"Alright. Tell me about her."
"Her name is Lucretia Johnson, 24 years old," Kyle started reading the memo.
"Lucretia?" August let out an amused snort.
"Yeah," Kyle grinned, "her mother seems to have a preference for strange names, her younger sister's called Petronilla."
"What the fuck?" August laughed out loud. "Is she some kind of Latin professor or something?"
"Well, first of all she's dead," Christine took over with a serious look on her face, she was notorious for her lack of humour, "and secondly, no, she was not a professor. She was an alcoholic and a complete mess. An irresponsible, uncaring mother who spent too much time fucking around and too little time taking care of her daughters. Petronilla was taken away from her when she was 15 and was handed over to youth welfare. Lucretia was 18 at the time and lived on the campus of the Chelsea College of Art and Design."
"So she's an artist, huh?" August knew the ridicule in his voice wasn't very professional but he just couldn't help it.
"Maybe, at least she has a master degree in curating and owns a little gallery in Covent Garden. Well, actually Mayfield owns it, she just runs it."
"So, to sum it up, she's made it from the daughter of a drunkard to the fiancee of one of the richest heirs in the kingdom. She's fucked her way to the top. I guess that's all I need to know about her."
"Don't be so sure, August. She seems to be smart," Kyle threw in, "I think there's more to her than the pretty face. It's just a gut feeling but I guess you'll find out soon enough."
August took a deep breath, rolling his eyes at Kyle. "Sure. She's the saint that sleeps with the devil."
"That's not what I said, mate. But whatever she is, you'll have to deal with it."
"What's my cover, Christine?" August wanted to know.
"Well, your alias was born in 1981, just like you, but on the fifth of May. Born and raised in Portland, Maine. Only child, mother deceased, not on speaking terms with his father, a mechanic who still lives in Portland. You can find the details of your early life and your family tree in the memo," she waved the file above her head before she continued. "Careerwise...ex military, ex cop, had some problems following the rules and respecting the law. Single, no ex-wifes, no kids. We kept it plain and simple. They will not dig deep anyway. According to the agency boss, Mayfield expects his bodyguards to be disciplined, always on duty, quiet and discreet. There's three of you. Benjamin Garner is Mayfield's watchdog and his personal assistant, Edward Landow was Johnson's guard you're gonna replace, Andrew Brown is the back-up. You and Garner live with them, Brown lives nearby with his girlfriend. There's other staff of course, a housekeeper, a cook, cleaners. No chauffeur, no butler, no assistant, that's all part of your job."
"Great," August let out an annoyed snort, "so basically I'm gonna be her servant."
"Basically," Chris fixed her gaze on August, "you're not gonna leave her side unless you're told to. Just be professional, stay in the background, prick up your ears, listen closely and be careful. No obvious nosing around. Their penthouse is a high tech fortress, including video monitoring, so just…"
"I know how to work undercover," August cut in impatiently, "just gimme that fucking file and let me do my job."
Christine gave him a pissed look but she handed him the document with a shrug and without further comment. August grabbed it from her hands, staring at the data of his new life, his new name and the composite sketch of his new look. He would have to stop shaving.

He was the school's and the town's heartthrob.
From the time he was young, every girl was in love with him and every boy wanted to be him.
From the tenderest of age, old folks were praising how cute and adorable he was.
That's just how Park Seonghwa grew up, being admired and loved by everyone around him. He was so used to his little club of adoring fans.
He dated, or more like, messed around with more than a couple of girls in his classes.
Not a single one of them was immune to his charms, even if at first they said they'd never ever fall for him. They always fell like dominoes.
And then the day finally came....The day someone ignored him, the day someone didn't worship the ground he walked on.....
The day someone not only refused but humiliated him in front of others.
You had recently moved into the small town, wanting to get away from all the bustling and, in your opinion, futile life of the city.
So you moved somewhere more quiet, serene, calm.
You only wanted a nice and comfortable life, and with the small but sturdy job you accepted, it allowed you to have a comfortable living.
For a while, no one really noticed or payed the to you, and those that did were wary of you.
You couldn't blame them. A stranger suddenly moves into their town? Of course they'd be careful.
You were very observant and in that time you observed Seonghwa.
He was good looking you had to admit, but he had come into the shop with a girl by his side which suggested to you they were an item.
Meaning he was off limits so you didn't bother to think about him.
But then he came in weeks later with a different girl, which threw you off a little.
And then a different girl, then another and you saw the pattern.
You shook your head and cringed at him. "Fuck boi." You muttered every time you saw him.
It didn't take long for him to hear about the new girl in town.
Which to him meant another heart to steal and a pair of legs to open and add to his collection.
He was with his friends, who were anxious to see what would happen.
You saw him confidently stride up to you, cocky grin on his face as his eyes looked you up and down. You internally scoffed.
"Don't think you can easily play me boy." You resolved in your head to wipe that smirk off.
"Hey gorgeous. Come here often?" He winked at you.
"I work here." You responded with absolutely no emotion or expression, barely giving him a glance as you arranged the shelves in the store.
He moved so you could see him better, thinking it would cause you to melt, but you just stared straight at him as if he wasn't there.
"If you need any assistance, please ask one of the managers. I only stock the merchandise."
You had to hold back from laughing at his shocked face, probably because no girl had ever not blushed or become flustered from his close proximity.
You moved away from him to put some articles on the next aisle.
Not giving up, Seonghwa followed after you, his friends trailing close behind you.
He tapped your shoulder to get your attention again.
For the first time in his life, a girl glared at him as if he was no more than a bug....
That was strike one for him.
"Listen...... I.......just wanted to get your number?" He couldn't believe that he was actually sweating nervously.
"Sorry. I don't give my number to strangers." You stated.
Seeing an opportunity, Seonghwa smiled flirtatiously at you.
"Well then maybe I should take you out. Then we won't be strangers. Maybe we could even get...really close." He licked his lips.
His face froze when he saw you roll your eyes at him.
That was strike two.
"Thank you but no. And if you'll excuse me."
You moved to leave him there again, but his hand reached out and gripped your wrist, a little too rough for your liking.
"Come on darling...no one's ever said no to me."
Yanking your hand away, you looked at him with disgust as you told him:
"I believe I just did."
Those words and the snorts and giggles from his friends behind him were strike three for him.
In that moment something snapped in him.
How dare someone like you reject him? The Park Seonghwa.
He was so stunned by your actions that he couldn't get you out of his mind from then on.
He no longer looked at any other girls.
His thoughts were fixated on you and only you.
He had to win you over, he just had to.
You were the ultimate challenge and he was going to make sure he was victorious.
But you made it so damn difficult.
Every. Single. Time.
You never hid how much he annoyed you and that pissed him off so much.
Days turned to a month, then 3 and still you kept refusing him.
The final straw for him was when he tried gifting you a rather expensive necklace that would have anyone else swooning.
Not batting a wink, you threw the case back to him.
"I'm not some whore you can buy for the night just cause you feel like it. Go find someone else to be your toy, fuckboi."
He gripped the case so harshly it actually bent, eyes staring daggers at you as you walked home.
"You're not getting away so easily. You're going to regret this."
You were surprised when you didn't see Seonghwa the next day..
Or for an entire week.
But you shrugged it off, perhaps he had finally learned his lesson and opted for leaving you alone.
Walking home, you couldn't help but feel like something eerie was going to happen.
You tried ignoring it by plugging in your headphones and just head home as soon as possible. It was dark and cold.
You weren't paying attention to your surroundings so you didn't see nor hear the car that was heading straight to you.
You only felt something knock you to the ground, immediately passing out from your head hitting the pavement.
The driver got out of the vehicle, his dark orbs staring down at your unconscious figure.
Bending down, he tilted your chin to look at your bloody face.
"I told you would regret this."
You woke up sore and with a pounding headache days later.
But more than anything, you woke up frightened when you saw you were chained down on a chair, wrists bound on the arm rests and feet tied to the legs.
Who the hell would kidnap you?
Your answer came in the form of Seonghwa himself, coming into the dimly lit basement where he held you.
He smirked as he saw you swallow harshly when he came close to you, face bending down at eye level to you.
"You can get out of this whole mess you know...."
Cupping your chin, he brought his lips dangerously close to yours.
"Just give in to me and agree to be mine."
You swore this had to be a joke. He'd go through all this trouble just for this shit?
Unable to stand his close proximity, you opted for showing your contempt for him by spitting on his face........something he did not take kindly to.
He looked at you as if you committed a heinous crime. And he wasn't going to let you get away with it.
Lifting your face up, he slapped you several times across the face, not satisfied until your nose was bleeding and your cheeks were stinging so badly, there was going to be bruising for sure.
You cried out when he harshly gripped your burning cheeks, adding even more pain.
"Sooner or later, you'll have to give in. The more you resist, the worse it'll get."
He left you there for 3 days, or a week. You honestly couldn't remember, you were going in and out of consciousness for a while.
When he finally let you out, you thought he'd be a little more nicer to you, but you were wrong.
Things only got worse.
You were being treated worse than an animal.
You couldn't walk anywhere, you had to crawl. You weren't allowed to use utensils for food, nor your hands.
The first time you tried to refuse to these rules, Seonghwa shoved you to the floor and dragged you by the hair across the hallway.
And as for food, he smashed your face into the bowl, you were surprised it didn't break from how hard he did it.
You could never look him in the eye or else you'd get struck across the cheek.
"Never look your betters in the eye. You should be grateful I even spare a glance at such a lowlife like you."
He lived, no...he thrived out of humiliating you.
It was sickening to know that such an individual could hate someone so much to go out of their way to try and dominate them to such an extent.
The times he was actually being 'nice' to you, his voice was filled with mock pity, talking to you as if you were his little pet.
It was those times where you truly couldn't hold back and glared at him.
And it always end with you back in the basement, stripped naked, and left there for days in the cold, body bleeding and sore from the canning he gave you.
And everytime he came back, he'd always say the same thing:
"You could end all of this if only you'd love me."
More than once you thought about giving in, even if just pretending.
He couldn't possibly treat you any worse than he did now.
But your inner strength, independence and repulsion from him kept you from giving in.
You'd rather die than ever let Park Seonghwa win and give him that. satisfaction.
But the day you found out you were pregnant with his kid, you knew you had to get out of there.
You were not going to allow a child to be raised by a monster.
You never told him anything, he couldn't know. You even resorted to cutting yourself so he'd believe you were still menstruating.
And for months you played it nice, obeyed him so he wouldn't cause you harm or to the baby.
He actually began to soften up, thinking he had finally broken you into the perfect lover he imagined.
"Fucking idiot."
That was the exact thing you thought when you finally allowed him to kiss you, instead of the forced ones he'd usually give you.
Taking advantage that his guard was down, you pulled out the knife you had hidden and didn't hesitate to plunge it on his side.
He pulled back in shock, but had no time to react because you just took out the knife and plunged it back in...
Over and over again until he layed unconscious on the floor.
Blood was everywhere and you honestly couldn't believe you did that.
Choking back the tears, you scrambled to find anything that could help you break the lock, which you eventually found.
You ran out of that place, never looking back.
You didn't run into the direction of the town, people would be too suspicious.
You ran towards the direction of the highway, hoping someone would find you and take you to the nearest hospital or police station.
It seemed luck was on your side as a woman immediately stopped when she saw you running.
She didn't hesitate to help you out, taking you to a hospital so you could get checked up.
You lied and simply said you had been kidnapped and managed to escape, feigning that you don't remember who your kidnapper was.
The police bought your story and more so dropped the interrogation when you said you didn't want to press charges and just wanted to lay low for a while.
You moved all the way across the country, far far away from the place of hell you were in.
You quickly got a job and a small, but comfortable home to raise your newborn daughter in.
She was such a cute and beautiful baby, looking like an exact replica of her father which somewhat haunted you but you pushed those thoughts aside.
Time had passed, you were safe, she was safe and almost a year old, and you'd never have to worry about that insane man ever again.........
So you believed.
Unaware of the piercing eyes that were looking through your opened window, staring at you as you fed yours and his baby.
"You'll love me in the end....."

Today was another dreadful day at the border, Alexie and Calensk were detaining some entrants as usual.
although this time, an entrant who was being detained decided they wouldn't go down so easily.
Alexie and Calensk were standing at their guard posts, waiting for the signal from the booth. Alexie looked over to Calensk, who was just a few feet away from him. He always wondered how he was able to be so serious and fierce at all times. He was always on guard, ready to take on anyone who would hurt him or anybody else. He found it kind of cool to be honest..
But even though Calensk was strong, he was also kind and considerate, I mean, He helped Inspector even though he knew nothing about him! Alexie could've gone on about how he admires him but then loud beeps from the booth pulled him from his thoughts, Him and Calensk almost immediately went over to the booth and stood at the front of it.
"OUT OF THE BOOTH!" Alexie shouted, the entrant exited the booth and was turned around as Calensk handcuffed them. They both lead the detainee to the cells as the loud speakers makes it's usual 'Next' and the line continues on. Alexie was keeping an eye out for an open cell and Calensk was walking right behind the detainee so they wouldn't try to run.
Meanwhile, The detainee was furious, and glanced at Calensk then to Alexie, a plan forming in their head. Alexie was busy looking for a cell and was also having thoughts clouding his mind. The detainee started to crouch down slightly, their pace slowing down and then they suddenly launched their head backwards, hitting Calensk right in the face.
He stumbled back with tears clouding his vision from the broken nose he now had. Alexie quickly turned around only to have a knee rammed straight to his stomach and the detainee's leg pushing him head-first to the wall.
Calensk got himself together and hit the detainee in the back of the head with the handle of his gun, knocking them out cold.
He rushed to Alexie, dropping his gun and kneeling down to him. "Alexie! Are you alright!?" He asked, worried. Alexie slowly sat up, groaning and holding the side of his head. "Here, we should get a first aid kit and check for any serious wounds." Calensk added, helping him up and leading him to the medical room.
Two other guards were coming from the hallway to check up on them. "The chief and I were attacked by a detainee, go take them to a cell and take over from here, I'll take care of the chief." Calensk demanded since Alexie wasn't able to, the two guards nodded and ran past them to take care of the person who attacked them. Calensk and Alexie continued to the medical room.
°☆• a little while later.. •☆°
Calensk was sitting on a chair beside Alexie who was asleep on a medical bed, they both got their wounds patched up but they weren't able to go back and guard the border tomorrow since they had to give the wounds time to heal up a bit. The good news was that Alexie didn't have any major injuries from getting his head hit into the wall. Even so, Calensk was still worried about him, so he stayed with him and waited for him to wake up.
After an hour or so, Alexie slowly woke up, a headache making him hold his head again from pain. He looked over at Calensk who was still at his side. "Hey, you doing alright?" Calensk asked him, Alexie replied "Yeah, just have a little headache.." He then slowly sat up so he wouldn't make his headache worse.
Calensk sighs in relief "That's good, from what I've seen, you probably only have a bruise on your head, I'm glad it wasn't serious like a concussion." "You can tell? How?" Alexie asked him. He then answered "Well, when I was serving in the Six-Year War, we were short on troops in our area so some of us had to learn how to do medical work on the field." Alexie then beamed "You learned that from the war? That's so cool!" He smiled brightly. Calensk smirked and looked to the floor shyly "I never thought of it that way.."
He always felt comfortable around Alexie because of his optimistic nature, so much that when he said things like that he would be taken by surprise. He liked spending time with him and he could talk to him without any judgement, he didn't know what he would do without him around.
"..Alexie?" Calensk spoke. Alexie then asked "What is it Calensk?" He felt stupid about what he was going to say since he guessed what the outcome would be, but he took a deep breath and added "Didn't you say you were gonna be more careful this time?" Alexie then pouted "Hey, I didn't know what they were gonna do so that doesn't count!" He sighed "Still, you could've gotten seriously hurt, what if I wasn't there? You need to stop being so reckless."
Alexie then rejoiced "That's just it, I got you! You're always there when I get hurt like this so I don't need to worry too much!" Calensk looked to the floor feeling a familiar sense of grief. "But.. what if I'm not strong enough or I'm too late..?" He spoke with sorrow. Alexie calmed and listened to his worries.
"I might not be enough and you could get hurt, badly, I-I already made mistakes like that.. what if I do it again?" Calensk trembled. He lost many people that he deeply cared about, mostly in the war. He even almost lost his friend Sergiu, He never wants anything like that happening to any other friends he has, especially Alexie.
Alexie gently put his hands on the sides of Calensk's face, making them face eachother. "Calensk, you're always looking out for others and you do a great job at it! But you have to let me take care of myself sometimes, you're basicly a human shield at this point!" Alexie reassures him, then smiled at him "You aren't going to lose me or anybody else, you got that? You're always on my side, so let me be on yours." Calensk was suprised, then he smirked "Heh, alright, I'll stop nagging you, but you have to promise that you'll be less reckless." Alexie let go of him and grinned "I promise!"
Calensk felt better, Alexie always managed to do that, it was just something about him that always made him happy. He was pulled away from his thoughts when he suddenly got a gentle kiss on his nose and his face suddenly went red.
"Hm? What's wrong?" Alexie asked, confused. "Why did you kiss me??" Calensk asked. Alexie answered "I thought it would be nice, isn't it fine to kiss your friends?" Calensk shouted out of embarrassment "That's what couples do!" "But I saw Elisa and Sergiu do that." Alexie added, completely clueless. "They ARE a couple!!" He stated. "Oh, I didn't know that." Alexie replied and then laughed nervously, Calensk smirked and then laughed with him.
The end!

Trauma
Someone To Stay Ch. 9
Spencer x fem reader
It's been several weeks since Y/N and I started our weekly movie nights. After starting Harry Potter we decided that we would keep watching our way through the series until we finished them. Last week I was out of town on all of her days off, but tonight we get to watch our favorite together, Prisoner of Azkaban. Seeing as we both love Halloween, this doesn't come as much of a surprise.
Last time I had asked to borrow her Harry Potter cookbook. As a surprise I've been cooking pumpkin pasties. I normally don't do much cooking, but this was well worth it. Movie night has become incredibly casual, so i slip into some purple pajama pants and a black t shirt before driving to her apartment. We decided movie nights would all take place at her apartment, seeing as she had the nice TV with a decent sound system. I had previously spent almost all my time reading, so all I had was my mom's old TV tucked away in the corner, only used when I felt the need to binge Dr. Who.
It's not long before i'm knocking at her door, warm snacks ready to go. She opens the door and looks down with a huge grin.
"Are those what I think they are?"
I nod, glad to see she's excited about them. After a moment I notice a pleasant smell wafting from the kitchen.
"You made something too?" I peek my head into the kitchen hoping to discover the source of the scent.
Y/N pulls out two mugs topped with foam, smiling like a giddy little kid. We both take a sip, and I feel the warmth filling me up as I take in the drink that tastes like Autumn in a cup. I've never had butter-beer before, but this is perfect. I look up to see whipped cream coating Y/N's upper lip, and based on the laugh she's holding back, I would guess I am sporting the same foam mustache. We both bust out in laughter. Something about spending time with Y/N makes me feel like a kid again. I know I can share my knowledge with her and she actually encourages me to do it quite often. But she also makes me feel like I can be goofy and silly and just have fun. I had almost forgotten what that feels like.
After we each curl up on our end of the couch with blankets and pillows, I can't help but realize how happy I have been having her as a friend in my life. Something about this realization pulls my mind in the opposite direction, and I suddenly find myself remembering why happiness feels like such a long forgotten stranger...Maeve. The name had not crossed my thoughts in weeks. This realization leaves me with a guilt that sits like a pit in my stomach. Before I know it, I am no longer focused on my favorite Harry Potter movie, but am spiraling into a dark hole once again. I lose myself so far into my thoughts that I almost don't notice that Y/N has stopped the movie and is staring straight at me.
I turn to her. "What is it?"
Y/N furrows her brow, a deep look of concern filling her eyes.
"Spencer, you're crying."
"I am?" I reach up to feel the wet streaks left behind on my cheek. I hadn't even realized. Now not only have I been crying in front of Y/N, but she knows something is wrong. Knowing her, she won't let this go so easily. I also doubt she'll buy any lie I try to feed her. She may not be a profiler, but she sure knows when someone she cares about isn't being genuine with her.
Luckily, she must also know me better than I realize. She doesn't push me too hard for information. She scoots over to my side of the couch before laying a hand on my shoulder. I keep my eyes glued to my lap, avoiding eye contact as best I can. I'm afraid that if I look into her eyes now, I'll completely fall apart. Something about telling your friends about your trauma makes it very real, and I don't want to relive that day, not again.
"Do you want to talk about it?"
"I'm not sure..." I answer honestly.
Instead of pushing me, she moves her hand to rub my back as we sit there in silence. Something about the kindness of this gesture finally breaks me. I let my head fall into my hands as tears start streaming down my face, and I don't even bother trying to stop them. I can't hold this back anymore, not from someone who's become like a best friend to me.
We sit there just like that for several minutes, Y/N silently rubbing my back, me crying like a big baby. Part of me feels embarrassed, breaking down like this, but the other part is too tired from holding all of this back to even care anymore.
Finally, I think my body has run out of tears when I hear Y/N say "What can I do? What do you need?" It's so quiet I almost miss it.
"Her name was Maeve." I am surprised to hear the words leave my mouth. I glance over to Y/N to gauge her reaction, but she's only sitting there, listening patiently.
"I started getting these headaches. They became so crippling that they started affecting my work. It scared me because...well my mom is schizophrenic. I guess I have always been a little paranoid about showing symptoms. The doctors ran tests, labs, scans...everything they could think of. As a last resort I reached out to this geneticist. After a bit of correspondence, it wasn't difficult to see that she was brilliant. She seemed to enjoy keeping in touch, so we would write one another letters. We eventually started calling one another. But...she had a stalker. She didn't know who it was or what they wanted, but she was scared. That's why we wrote letters. And I only ever called her from telephone booths, never the same one twice. I ended up sharing a large part of my life with her... One time before hanging up the phone she even said "love you" like it was the most normal thing in the world. I never said it back, but even if what I felt was love I never got the chance to say it to her. Her stalker was a former grad student, and she got to Maeve before I could."
I stop and take in a deep breath, swallowing the growing lump in my throat before continuing.
" She shot herself in front of me, killing Maeve along with her. It was the first time I had ever seen her in person too. It happened a couple months ago. Every time I think i've moved on it feels like the pain starts all over again. I sometimes feel guilty for even trying to move on, for ever being happy."
Y/N doesn't say a word as she lets me speak. She just nods, taking in every word. After a couple minutes of silence, she lets out a large breath before finally opening her mouth to speak.
"Spencer, I can't pretend to even come close to understanding what you are going through. I wish I had the answers. I wish I could tell you when the pain will go away, but the truth is it will probably never fully leave you. Trauma has a way of sticking with us. We learn how to process it and cope with it more efficiently, but it's never truly gone. Now I can't pretend to know what Maeve would have wanted for you, but as your friend who's with you now I want to tell you its okay to be happy. Its also okay to not be okay sometimes. No one has it together all of the time. It's ok to talk about it, to cry about it, and there's no right or wrong time. Trauma has a way of sneaking up on us, triggering us when we least expect it. And whatever you need to be ok, whatever you need to do in order to deal with this, I'm here for you. I'll always be here for you. You can always call me if you need to talk or come over. Even if you just need a distraction from it, if you find yourself slipping into a dark place, you can call me, and we will talk about literally anything else or go find somewhere to grab dessert or watch a movie. If you need someone to just sit with you, I'll be there. What I'm trying to say is whenever you're ready, just tell me what you need and I'll be there for you."
I feel like I could cry again, but luckily I don't. Instead, I turn on the couch to face Y/N and just pull her in for a hug, resting my head on her shoulder. This alone is all I need to at least be okay, even if just for tonight. As someone who lives alone, my only real family living across the US, no one ever really knows just how much I crave touch. It's not exactly like I can just approach JJ, Garcia, or Morgan and say "Hey I could really use a hug today." It's a love language for me, but I go weeks without touching a single person. It wears me down sometimes. Sitting here, hugging Y/N, is the most comforted I have felt in a really long time.
I want to tell her the other reason I'm struggling. About the cravings I have to battle when things are already emotionally challenging. I decide I'm not ready to share that quite yet. It's not that i don't trust her, but if it's going to affect the way she sees me, I want to put that off as long as possible.
I also take a minute to go over the words she's said to me. I can't help but notice her tone, her body language, the look on her face. She may be great at comforting people, especially since it's part of her job, but those were the words of someone who knew. She spoke from a place of fully understanding trauma, which tells me one thing: She has had trauma of her own. I make a mental note to bring it up later. I don't want to push her, but I want to make sure she knows she has the same support from me incase she ever needs to talk.
We sit there for a few more minutes, her arms wrapped around me. My breathing eventually slows down as I try to get my sniffles under control. I feel my head start to pound from how hard I have been crying. I sit back to rub my hands into my temples. Y/N stands up and makes her way into the kitchen, returning a couple minutes later with a cold water bottle, a box of tissues, and some aspirin.
She starts to walk out of the room before turning to me.
"I think I've got something that might help you feel a little better. It can't heal with heartbreak, but maybe it can help you to relax and take your mind off everything, if even for a little while."
"Y/N, you take care of people all day at work you don't have to..,"
"Hey!" She cuts me off before I can finish. "Why do you think I became a nurse huh? I enjoy taking care of people. And if I can help, even just a little, I won't feel so completely useless in this situation."
"Y/N, you've already helped. Just listening, being here with me. But I guess its no use arguing with you, you're too stubborn." A small breathy laugh leaves my nose and I glance up to see a small smile before she steps out of the room.
She returns a few minutes later and doesn't say a word. Instead she grabs both my hands and pulls me off the couch, leading me into the guest bathroom.
A take a look around at everything she had gotten ready.
"A bubble bath?" I shoot her a look of uncertainty.
"Just trust me okay." She rolls her eyes playfully. "I'll be in the living room. Just shout if you need me okay?"
I decide to just go with it. She leaves, shutting the door behind her and flipping of the lights. The room is suddenly glowing in light from candles scattered all around the bathroom. After slipping into the bath, I tense up at how hot the water is before it finally relaxes all my muscles. Breathing in, I notice the smell of eucalyptus and lavender filling the air. There is also a bluetooth speaker in the corner, softly playing zen spa music with the trickle of a rain in the background.
I have to admit, this is the most relaxed I have felt in...well I can't remember ever feeling this relaxed. Baths always seemed a bit girly, but this was incredibly therapeutic. I may have to try this again after my next difficult case.
When I finally decide to get out, I realize I'll have to change back into the same clothes. I quickly realize Y/N had also laid out a  star wars t shirt and black sweatpants for me. She thought of everything. With her being on the taller side and enjoying baggy clothes, they actually fit me fairly well.
When I finally step back into the living room she looks up at me and grins.
"Looking good Dr. Reid!"
She never calls me that, and for some reason it makes me blush just slightly. She pats the spot next to her on the couch, signaling for me to come over.
"Well, how do you feel?"
"Umm I wasn't sure about the whole bath thing but... I feel fantastic actually! How did you know that would help?"
"When you do what I do, you have to find multiple ways to unwind" she laughs.
I glance down at the shirt I'm wearing.
"So Star Wars huh?"
Y/N smirks "Are you really that surprised?"
I answer with a laugh "No I suppose not."
"Well I hope you like them too, because that's what I had lined up when it was my turn to pick for movie night!"
I can't help but hide a giant grin. I was happy to hear she wanted to continue our movie nights. Between all the Harry Potter movies and Star Wars movies combined, it seemed like we'd be spending a lot more time together.
"Is it okay if we finish the movie?" I am hoping I didn't completely ruin the night with my breakdown.
"I thought you'd never ask" she smiles before turning to the TV and resuming the movie.
As I watch the characters making their way into the shrieking shack, I feel my eyes grow heavy. I guess I had gotten a little too relaxed, as I am now struggling to stay awake through the rest of the movie.
When I open my eyes I notice the room is no longer glowing from the light of the TV but from the daylight streaming in through the windows. I realize i'm stretched across Y'N's couch, under one of her many fuzzy blankets. I sit up and look around, noticing Y/N is no longer there. After checking her kitchen and bedroom, I start to worry. Before I start to call her on the phone, I notice movement outside the window. I make my way onto the patio balcony to see her sitting on her bench with a book in her hands. At the sound of the door, she looks up and meets my gaze, smiling as she closes her book.
"Good morning sunshine" she says laughing just a bit.
"What happened?" I ask, joining her on the bench outside, running my hands through my hair as I attempt to fully wake up.
"Well, after awhile I noticed you fell asleep. I really thought it would be best to just let you get your rest."
"I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to..." I start before she cuts me off.
"Its no problem! Not last night and not any other time. You are always welcome here." She gives me a warm, genuine smile. I know this is a sincere offer, one I'm sure I will take her up on again.

Due to the immense chaos that had been caused no one really stopped Natalia to ask her who the hell I was in our way to the place where she and her friends were heading before their unfortunate brief encounter with me.
"What happened?" The redhead inquired, stalking as fast as she could to reach a tall, blond haired woman.
"Power went off." The woman responded "probably was a pulse, not sure though." as we walked out of the control room, she gave me a double check with a confused glance.
"She's with me." Natalia clarified. "What about Barnes?"
"The boy's causing serious trouble down there." the man who I recognized as Tony Stark replied, jogging towards us and consecutively motioning the three to follow him.
"Tell me you brought a suit."
"Yes, I did." the billionaire replied. He was lying. "And it's a lovely Tom Ford three-piece two-button." Okay maybe he wasn't lying. "Who the fuck is this-"
His stop made the blond woman bump into him and consequently, made me and Natalia stop.
"You."
"What?" I questioned, appearing to him as confused as possible.
"You're the girl- she's the girl" he bumped the redhead's arm. "What's she doing here- What were you doing with her? What the fuck-"
"There's no time for this." I spoke, walking past the three people. Though before I could take the first step, the brunet gripped my forearm. "let go."
"Tony-"
"She's here to help him escape." he spoke, digging his eyes in my form. "She could've done this."
"Tony," Natalia put her hand on Stark's shoulder and gave him a gentle yet firm tug. "she's here to help. Let go of her."
"Listen to your friend or I'll break your arm."
"Yeah that sounds super friendly to me." his sarcasm sounded like poison to me. "What do you think Carter?"
"We really don't have time for this." The blond agent replied. "But after this you're coming with me." She added. "C'mon now."
Not even three minutes passed before we could hear the shots, hits and the screams.
"Okay Romanoff, with Carter, trouble girl with me." we moved fast in order to stay as covered as possible until we could easily get close enough to James without getting killed in the crossfire. "your name?" I shot him a glare. "what? Give me something girl."
"Y/n." I replied, getting my gloves out of my pockets to put them on at the same time as he turned his watch into a hand weapon.
"I hope you know that I have questions."
"Too bad you won't get answers." I responded staring at him with the ghost of a grin in my gaze.
"you worked with him?"
"You could say so, yeah." I lifted my chin, prompting the billionaire to look behind him. "You first, Ironman."
Stark's fight was good enough to keep up with The Asset's training for the time that it took me to get ready.
Stark was down, Carter entered the game.
I knew the Black Widow had the intention to follow her colleague's lead, but she took a peek at me first and gave me the cue to accompany her in the task.
Her knee went straight to his abdomen, pushing him back. She kept moving, well aware of the fact that the moment he caught her she was done.
I slid in their direction with my foot before me; Natalia twirled out of my way just in time for me not to break her leg.
The Asset fell back and I rolled a couple of feet away to be able to push myself up without getting knocked out by him.
The blonde, in an attempt to lend a hand, kicked Him in the back, just for his metal fist to grab her leg and violently slamming her against one of the tables.
Stark got up and stalked to the Soldier in order to get him off the poor girl, but Natalia —I supposed she had caught up on what I was about to do— threw herself over her friend.
"Y/n do it!" She shouted.
When my name was heard, the soldier turned around so fast, almost as if he remembered me.
Did he?
Not the time for that, I reminded myself planting my feet firm on the cold floor and getting both my hands up.
"мне жаль" I murmured an apology, hardly loud enough for him to hear.
With a groan, I brought my hands to my chest as the sphere formed between them, and in a split second, my arms shot the concentrated energy to the Soldier and threw him yards away from us.
To my luck, that was just where the stairs were.
"What the FUCK?" the billionaire yelled, looking at me in awe and fear at the same time. "What are you." in the meantime, The soldier had recovered from the impact and was currently moving upstairs.
I ignored his question, running upstairs, chasing after the soldier.
I lost him for a couple of seconds, which led to take the wrong turn.
The fact that I ended up in the same rooftop he was in, didn't make it any better; not only had he gotten a helicopter, but we now were accompanied by a very stressed out Steve Rogers, who, apparently, had no common sense. Before I could sprint to try to stop the soldier, Rogers grabbed the goddamn helicopter and tried —and shockingly seemed to succeed, somehow— to pull it back to the rooftop.
"Rogers!" I shouted his name when he started to look like he was about to get ripped in half. "Let go!"
The blond man, more confused than anything else, relaxed his muscles, but right when I was about to pull the helicopter back, the soldier lashed out against the captain.
My first instinct was to focus on the propeller and, using the energy, pull them towards me right before making a small energy rift appear just a couple steps before me.
Before the propellers could reach me, I threw myself on my knees and quickly slid into the rift, teleporting myself to Steve's side, who looked at me quite shocked.
"We need to get him out." I spoke attempting to make him react. "My name is Y/n, and I want to help James as much as you." That seemed to slap him out of the surrealistic moment he had just witnessed.
"Okay... Okay, help me open the-" he was cut midsentence when a metal arm crashed through the glass in front of us to choke the man besides me.
I was just getting my hands between the two men in an attempt to pull them apart when I felt the helicopter falling off.
I let go and jumped back to the rooftop, but they obviously didn't. "Fuck..." I muttered to myself, getting up to see the helicopter sinking in the water. "Okay..." I looked behind me to check the door didn't open while I took a couple of steps back, so I could be able to run up.
I literally took a leap of faith and prayed for me not to die in the fall.
Once in the water, considering that Steve had just managed to get an unconscious James out of the aircraft, it all went pretty smooth.
I only had to grab them both and throw them with me into one of my rifts.
I hadn't counted on the effort that would supposed to drag two people with me through a rift I had to create under the water, after a free fall.
When we crashed against the pavement in the shed I was planning on teleporting after all of this had happened, I felt myself dizzying very quickly.
I planted my hands firmly against the pavement as I tried to regulate my breathing. "Hey you okay?" Steve's voice sounded distant to me, even though he was right besides me. "Y/n? Are you alright?" I felt a pair of strong hands helping me incorporate and guiding me to sat with my back against the wall.
"I'm fine." I assured, this time with words. "I just- it was a lot and I didn't do that since... I don't know." I closed my eyes and opening them again when finally managed to control my breathing. "I just need a moment."
"Listen, I don't know who you are." Steve started, taking a look at James, who was still unconscious. The blonde had laid them against the opposite wall to us. "But you put your life on the line for us twice in a day." he sat in front of me with crossed legs. "I don't know how to thank you."
"Don't worry." I simply replied with a shake of my head. "we have to tie him to somewhere before he wakes up."
~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Did you call your friend already?" I inquired from the inside of the shed loud enough for Steve to hear while he got back inside."
"He's nearby but stopped to get us some clothes." he informed me, stopping in the gates from were he could check up on his friend.
"what happened back there?"
"Someone wanted really bad to have a talk with Bucky."
"Bucky." the nickname rolling out of my tongue felt as if I was naming an old friend that I had never really met.
"How do you call him?" The curiosity had to come out at some point, I thought.
"James."
"For... For how long have you known each other?"
Wow, the questions were going to be one hell of a headache.
"Uhm... For as long as I can remember." the answer was a vague one, yet somehow very accurate. "he... Kind of trained me."
"You're like him?" I denied and he nodded, and then we fell in another heavy silence. "I... I have to ask. Did he... Uh..."
"Remember you?" I finished while my brain buzzed trying to order my damaged memories. "I, myself, can't remember much but I think he mentioned you a couple of times."
I was lying, but it was a white lie- the whitest lie I would ever tell. His face lit up when I said it, and that somehow made a spark of happiness lighten my dark, cold heart.
"What you did back there- was it Hydra?"
"Yeah." I confirmed, staring at my gloves that now rested on an item belonging to the place we were in. "The tesseract. They experimented with it and... this came out."
Another heavy silence.
"Steve?" both our heads spun to the entrance, where a man was standing with a bag in his hand.
"Sam." Steve turned around to walk towards the third man, who also stepped in Steve's direction and consequently, in mine. "He's still unconscious, she's with us." He pointed at me. "Her name's Y/n."
Once the sun stopped hitting his backs, I was able to see the stranger's face, who was already looking at me with a frown.
"Wait, I know you." He stated stopping Steve by his arm. "She was at the helicarrier back in Washington."
It's been a year but still...
Hi! It's been a while :) I guess It's been 2 years since I wrote my first blog. A lot of things have happened these past few years. There have been ups and MANY downs but it has taught us a lot in life especially we're in the middle of a worldwide global pandemic.
In terms of Pandemic:
It's already been a year when the quarantine imposed in Philippines. I never thought that these things will last longer than much as I expected. Covid-19 is surely a no joke. I remembered when we're still in the middle of reporting in our class, I am the last reporter which I am preparing my lines, practicing my tone and how should I deliver it. Then someone knocks the door, It was the guard reminding us that our class is dismissed due to circulating virus as Mayor Isko stated. Our professor agreed but after we finish the report. So I start reporting (which I know no one's listening) preparing their bags to leave lol. I'm a bit relief because I don't get questioned since our mind (our prof included) focuses on 1 week vacation. SIKE!
After we leave the class, We're actually excited obviously it's a 1 week suspension, We even plan to go somewhere, We even plan to go outing, swim and hike. But it never happened obviously, since the virus is circulating all over the news. We got scared ofc. After I went to dorm, I packed some of my things which we thought that it's just 1 week suspension. When I got home, the news said that the govt will continue the lockdown for another 1 month. Then goes another month, so on & so forth. GCQ, ECQ, MECQ, MGCQ, BBQ lmao. Unfortunately, a year had passed, Philippines is still not covid-free and still in ECQ.
I know all of us are struggling hard in different ways, Covid-19 isn't something that we should underestimate. It not just attacking our physical health but it attacks our mental health, emotional even financial either. Companies, food restaurants, schools, businesses, economy are also struggling and most of them are still haven't recovered from the bankruptcy. It's heartbreaking to see when people lost their jobs especially jeepney drivers begging for foods. Sometimes, I get really sad whenever I sleep comfortably and realizing that someone out there, begging and asking for help, dying, depressed, even some committing suicide. Some lost their love-ones, some are praying they can live more, some are wishing they could go back home, some are grasping for air.
However, despite of these circumstances , I hope that we don't stop having faith in God. He makes miracles everyday. We may not see the way how He moves, but you see, we're still living and fighting. Isn't that a blessing itself? God will give you the strength you need to hold on. Repeat after me:
At my lowest: God is my hope.
At my darkest: God is my light.
At my weakest: God is my strength.
At my saddest: God is my comforter.
Verses you can hold on:
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9
Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10
In terms of my dental course: (update)
Currently, I am now in 3rd year, 2nd semester and still struggling as usual. I may say every subject is a challenge. It's quite difficult especially we're in online class. There's PROs and CONs regarding bout having online class as a student. Since I'm not yet a clinician, there would be a lot of pro's here.
Let's start with a Cons, As a dental student, Face to face is clearly a must but since Covid, we have to prioritize first our health safety.
1. There's a lot of distractions. You can't focus that much. It's either you have unstable connection or you use too much gadgets since you're not in the room. No one's watching. No one can stop you using your phones even you're in the middle of discussion. It's either you are in Tiktok, scrolling your newsfeed, playing games even watching movies, etc. Yes. You're listening but your presence of mind aren't there. (I'm attacking myself too)
2. As a dentistry student, ofc we have to bought dental materials, since I'm in Taguig, there's no dental shop near here, it's either we have to travel to Maynila, or order online which is really hella expensive. Two things test you there, Budget and Patience.
3. Practicals. Hands on. I don't need to further explain. No doctors, professors, friends can help you. You only have yourself. They can only guide you. (except if you have your parents/relatives that can teach and help you with the techniques which sadly I don't have). My parents help me in diff way, they're just there supporting me emotional and financial but not in practicals. There's only me, myself and I. Google, YouTube, Ebooks, Recorded lessons, even ppt slides will be your best friend.
4. You can't see your classmates and friends. I remembered every after exam, we hangout. We ate, sharing how hard our exam is. You have the peer support system.
5. Radiation. Always in your computer can give an headache so I bought an Eyewear to protect my eyes atleast from these radiation.
6. Teaches you to be lazy. IF only you are not taking seriously your studies. But in my case, In face to face, back then, I am diligently taking notes every discussion but now, just taking screenshot and printing the slides in one click.
7. And of course, You have no money.
On the other hand, Pros are:
1. You can sleep anytime. Just turn off your cam, then get your pillow, Zzzzz. Unless, your prof calls you for recitation.
2. You don't have to ligo. You can save water. Just brush your hair and then you can go to class. Walang makakaamoy. Tipid din sa damit lol.
3. You can procrastinate. I hate to admit but it's me.
4. You don't have to walk. After you wake up, you just have to sit and then open your computer or phone then you're in.
5. You can cheat. Not advisable but yes. If you want to pass without learning, you cheat. But if you wanna learn, you shouldn't.
7. You always have your "me time".
8. You can eat anytime.
9. You don't have to go to dorm, more quality time in your family.
10. You can leave class easily.
Therefore, I firmly believe that you never stop learning. You learn something new everyday. It's funny we never noticed. It's funny to think that the world is having problem with these pandemic while my problem is how to pass my subject. Haha
I may say, Dentistry is really really hard than much as I expected. Each steps are hard, sometimes, out of nowhere, I ask myself why am I even here? Why did I chose this again? Why do I keep trying? Is this really my calling? Ofc I admit all of that, There's a lot of what ifs. But to think in diff point of view, What if I never give up? What if I'll make it? What if I can? You see. It's the way you think. You're perception in life is what molds you. You can be a dentist if you think you can. You can be an engineer if you think you can. You can even be the next president if you want to. Everybody starts in having perception then next, execution.
I may not be smartest one, but no matter how smart or how beautiful you are, those things aren't valuable if you don't let God use you. Remember, when you feel inferiority, insecurity and self doubts creep into your heart, Ask God helps you to see yourselves the way He does.
Let our Delays, disappointments, fear, anger turns to breakthrough, patience, willingness and love. Repeat after me:
In God's Time. I will be.
We never know when will this end, God only knows. We just have to be strong and ask God to have MORE faith on Him.
Verse to hold on:
“If you can believe, all things are possible to HIM who believes.” Mark 9:23
More of Him, Less of Me.
I know it's been a year but still... God is by my side.
