I finally accumulated enough can tabs to make a belt!㇏(•̀ᵥᵥ•́)ノ

I painted them all black, crocheted through the holes to join them together, and was able to do three rows. I crocheted some loops on the ends and used a small lobster claw clasp for closure. 

There’s the outfit I tried it out with above. It’s definitely more of a decorative belt, I wouldn’t use it to actually hold any clothing up, but I’m very happy with how it turned out! ᘛ⁐̤ᕐᐷ ♡♡♡

made a pockit for lili!! has a window!! so I do not have to worry if I dropped her and feel around in my pockit I can just look and she is there!! and also she can see!! and it fastens so she will not fall out!!

Pop Tab Chainmail.

You'll need pliers, some sort of wire cutter, and a metric shit ton of pop tabs. I recommend recruiting other people to help collect them. Most of mine are from sparkling water/soda/alcohol cans at various events, monster and redbull tabs will not work

Then link them all together somehow. Idk how to explain it, but look at this and just do that. Might take a bit to figure out a system

Can tabs

For as long as I can remember I’ve collected. I started with the beer bottle caps strewn around our house and at family events. At the end of Christmas dinner my pockets would be bulging.

My mum always took them away though saying they “were sharp and dangerous”. She was probably right as mothers often are. But after time and time again she would confiscate my collection, I decided to change my object of choice.

Eventually after some trail and error I settled on can tabs. They were smaller, less noticeable. My pockets certainly hadn’t bulged as much, and my collection went unbothered.

I still collect them 10 years later, I find them strewn around my bedroom floor. I like collecting, mostly stupid little things like beads and curios and can tabs and bottle caps, each little thing fills me with so much joy.

so there's this independent youth center that is really important to my local scene. the atmosphere there is amazing, full of kind people. they do a lot of activism and also host some concerts with local bands, but they might not be able to continue their work.

they're currently collecting donations in hopes of keeping the place they're renting right now and continuing their work.

I don't really have a lot of money to give so I made some jewelry they might be able to give away for donations, I just really don't know if that's enough or too much, or maybe completely useless in general, or if I should make different stuff, does anyone have any ideas how to help them without having funds?

Had quite a good can gathering today. Right at the end(back in the parking lot where I started) the bag I used tore, so I had to drive over to where it was and pick the cans back up.

Here are all the cans in a pile back at home.

Took a couple hours to gather all the tabs.

Overall, today I found 155 standard tabs. 3 were black, 4 magenta, 1 purple, 1 green, 1 lime, 1 yellow, and 3 faded colors. Also 4 large tabs, 30 branded or non-standard tabs, 1 dollar, and 6 golf balls.

Quite a bountiful harvest indeed.

this is my current hyperfixation on collecting stuff, ive gone as far to take cans that people left around, pick them up, take the tab, then put the rest in the bin

i plan to put them all on little key rings and hang them from my rainbow lanyard

previous hyperfixations of collecting things- rocks, indonesian water bottle lids, afl trading cards (i was 8 ok), lego

also planning to cover the juice bottle they're in with pride stickers and other things like that
