I'm trying to pull my first all-nighter in years and watch the Oscars live with my friends. I used to watch the gala when I was younger and go straight to school, but it's been over a decade since I've had any interest in the thing. But this year is different because TGM is nominated for 6 Oscars. It probably won't win any major awards, though I do think there's a possibility that it could surprise everyone and win Best Picture.

I'm really bummed out that Tom won't be attending the gala, even though he went to the Oscar Luncheon and did the obligatory pre-Oscars talk show appearance, and all the signs were pointing to him going. This is the first time in such a long time that one of this movies is nominated in such a major way, and he's sort of been welcomed back into Hollywood by his peers, so him dropping out at the last moment for scheduling conflicts sucks major ass and is kind of ??? If they knew he wouldn't be attending, then why wait until the day of the event to announce it.

Anyway, I hope everyone who decides to watch the Oscars has a great time!

One of my friends is writing an AMAZING Mission Impossible fic - writing the MI8 we deserve (and don't want to wait possibly two more years for!). I'm beta-reading the fic and it is absolutely a rec!!

Summary: After Ethan arrives at the bridge to find Ilsa killed and Grace injured, he wants revenge. Benji arrives at the scene and Ethan entrusts the care for Grace with him. He continues his reckless chase after Gabriel.

Ethan notices Gabriel's behavior becoming stranger with every interaction they have and his feelings for Gabriel change. He can't seem to make out however if they are growing closer or just drifting further apart…

An excerpt:

Ethan’s eyes finally adjusted and he took a horrified look at his savior.

“Gabe… Gabriel.” 

A painful silence fell between them. 

Ethan struggled to read Gabriel’s expression, his dark eyes enigmatic, and before Ethan was able to ask him why he didn’t just kill him right then and there, Gabriel turned on his heels and walked off.

Im not really guilty about any of them? I think the closest id get to a guilty pleasure movie is any superhero movies i like that arent “the good ones” like batman v superman, the snyder cut, captain america civil war (i don’t get why people don’t like this one tho)
