The pumpkin cheesecake tasted divine so I had to draw it. Very cottagecore and I have to use this for something.

It’s Canadian thanksgiving on Monday, so today was my annual pie baking day! Every year, I try to make the crust a bit different than previous years. I’m really happy with how this one turned out!

Happy Canadian Thanksgiving to my friends celebrating today! I purchased the components for Canadian Loyalist Pumpkin Pie, but last night I was too busy making an absurd amount of chicken soup. (This is what happens when you fantasize constantly about preparing chicken soup for various fictional characters and historical figures, etc., and then you obtain a free surprise large box of fresh chicken).

So, what I've learned from Americans... is now that Thanksgiving is over, I can 'legally' put up my Christmas tree, right? 😂
(not my photo, but I kinda love it)

Canadian Loyalist Pumpkin Pie, two-point-oh.
Back at it with the United Empire Loyalists' Association of Canada pumpkin pie recipe, in time for Canadian Thanksgiving tomorrow! This time I used sweetened condensed milk instead of scalded milk, and @picklesandolives recipe for the crust:
2 cups flour
1 cup butter
1/2 cup sour cream
Few spoonfuls of sugar (because it's a sweet pie), blend ingredients, refrigerate for 30 minutes to one hour before use.
I was intrigued by the addition of sour cream, and the ratio of butter to flour seems wild, but it worked and I like this crust recipe!
Once again I had to bake the absolute beejezus out of the pie; it's supposed to take 40-50 minutes total but it was something like 80 minutes. 90 minutes?? I keep losing track. The crust held up very well for all the oven time, I didn't even shield it with aluminium foil.
