OCs (h&k universe!!)

Hailey: sea dwelling sleep deprived detective who likes to do the rest of her paperwork at the middle of the night. She is straight forward and sometimes considered unintentionally rude, but she also tries to keep her words direct and holding their meaning. She somehow is able to keep herself physically fit for her job so hence why she still manages to stand a week without sleep. she doesn’t usually smile from her tiredness, or even express emotions well through facial features, however she’ll say it better through words that lack better vocabulary. she gets dysphoria and paranoia every time a reference to her actual name pops up, the dysphoria coming from her trans femininity and the paranoia coming from her history before she moved to Manila. back when she was only 20, she killed a stranger from lashing out all of a sudden, thus scarring her and worsening that situation until she was around 24. she lived in and by the seas during that time, so taking herself away from where she grew up as a ‘sea dweller’ herself made her forget that her gills and earfins grow when she’s in the shower or dipped in water. She has no absolute interest in relationships, however she’s peaked interest and affection to her assistant with feelings she can’t help. She is thickly guilty.

Krinito: overtly joyful and a strange detective assistant who keeps bringing piercings to work. Unlike Hailey, he always smiles even during an unpleasant situation, and keeps a positive tone which can sometimes be spiteful. Similar to Hailey, however, his face will not justify his reaction to the situation, and will only be expressed through excessive vocabulary and actions which can be violent. Again, he is very cheerful and insistent, and he could easily react violently at unpredictable times. He is direct and informative as necessary, however to taunt he’ll be irritatingly subtle and torture is not uncommon for negotiation. With people he's familiar with, he's very touchy-feely and is entire invading personal space without care. Sometimes he is aware of that, but he can become intimidating to get what he'd want. With friends, he could punch them (or put them in a punching contest, like with Hailey, who is his best friend) and inherently put them into a mutually violent friendship. Though like that, he is also at once a very trusting person, is able to hold up other things just for his work, and could be able to be there for people. He's also rather sacrificial, and he could save people who'll need it and mostly Hailey, and because of that, he suffers injuries during certain tasks in his job but will somehow always turn out fine after a visit to a hospital, having suffered eye puncture, evisceration, blood loss, strangulation, fractures, bullet wounds and even venom injection, “I’m all good! I just won’t be able to move in a week.” He is very deflecting of romantic relationships in topic, linking that to the reason he keeps smiling. When he was 18-20, he was a member of a street gang in the southern areas of Mindanao with a girlfriend named Pia who always made him happy because of his emotional issues that caused him to react negatively. During one of their troubles, their gang gets trapped in an abandoned building and gets attacked by the police, and he and Pia managed to escape into the woods, thinking they were safe until Pia got shot from a distance. He held her dying body until the cops had arrived, and all he could do was think of her last words and her last actions and he couldn’t help but smile holding her close. Just when they almost took him away, he attacked the police and managed to kill them with a few gun wounds here and there. He held Pia’s body again before he mustered up and buried her near the place their gang his in, and the whole time he really couldn’t help smiling and reflecting the way her corpse almost smiled back at him. he moved to Manila a few years later to restart his life.

James: An American-Filipino homeless man who lives in Tondo along with 50 other children. He has one of the most unique mutations, dark skin with glowing white freckles resembling the star and a black flush complexion to go with. His eyes and freckles glow in the dark, along with the white dots in his hair that aren’t dandruff. He was an ex-soldier who, after being discharged for PTSD, came back to his wife who committed suicide and finding out his daughter died of cancer. He suffered depression alongside and ended up homeless, losing the motivation to even survive until he saw an orphan crying for food or anything else. He managed to get from a nearby market, and he gave the kid enough for them to survive. It went like that again and again, and the kid started to stick to him, even calling him Kuya as well. Eventually, he just had 50 orphans sticking to him for years and keeping them alive was still difficult, but he managed. He gets embarrassed and emotional every time people think he owns these children, reminded heavily of who he was back then as a father and it would throw him off because he remembers how much he's struggling now to keep those kids alive, as if it was a make up action from how his daughter died.

Remedy/Rastik: A Russian-Filipino boy who moved from Moscow to Manila. His family was a descent of a cannibal tribe in his Filipino side and the Russian side embracing that, and he's aware that all he would normally eat is humans that were probably around him. As a teenager he was a shy and timid boy who didn't know how to speak Filipino or English, but did understand word by word their conversations. At some point, he almost gets trapped into the prison asylum after witnessing his family be killed as punishment for the illegal cannibalism, but he manages to escape after months of abuse and neglect all the way to Tondo, where he meets a concerned man named James. Of course, he doesn't know what to say or do but he can't help but be slurring on Russian, caught up in sobs and he soon finds himself in the open streets where he lives with the kind man with many other kids. He spends the rest of his teenage life learning how to speak English and Filipino, and eventually he gets a job that gives him enough money for a normal life. As a grown man he's happy and emotional and is attached heavily to James, and even with this money he doesn't willingly get a house unless James and the rest of his younger “siblings”(who didn't get a job or were too young) go with him as well.
