It feels almost disingenuous to say my car was stolen. It was not broken into. No one hotwired it. I was not carjacked at gunpoint. Nor was it stolen through the recent TikTok trend to boost Kias by sticking a USB drive down the throat of the ignition. Nothing so clever or destructive occurred.
I left Las Vegas, where I live, for a work trip to Phoenix. That morning, my father flew into Las Vegas for a weekend trip with his wife and her grandson. They borrowed my car. While out to dinner that evening, my father left it unlocked with the key inside in the parking lot of the Orleans Hotel and Casino, a budget resort west of the Strip.
I was out drinking with colleagues that night and missed a few calls. When I checked my phone, I saw my father had texted with weird punctuation and fragment sentences: “Call me It’s very important. It’s about important.”
It sounded important. I had also missed a call from the police. I got on the phone with my father first and, with a tone of pure shame, he said, “I’m sorry to tell you this, son. Your car is gone.”
When Dan Hernandez recovered his stolen car, he found a mysterious VHS labeled “Bad Tape” left inside of it. His friends and family told him not to watch it, but Dan couldn’t resist. Read our latest.

You know TS is a rich spoiled brat when she treated social injustices with a very vague and mild attitude, but if you attacked her personally she will blow it out of proportion and make it seem like a cinematic theater experience in which she is the selfless Batman all the time.
This is why she thrived in the 2010s because the world was relatively peaceful (at the time), petty beefs on the internet were peak so miss girl can play inside her own stage play and have people cheer for her. However, since COVID many people have openned their eyes to the real world and real tragedies happened so Taylor's antics don't work anymore, and you can see how fake and mild toast she is.

I finally was about to get picked up from a park near a lake with a gift shop I was stranded at, when a family decided to rob the gift shop. They were successful in robbing the gift shop but didn't have a getaway car so they tried to take mine. They only spoke Spanish and in my very broken Spanish I managed to convince them to get out of my car and take someone else's.

holy shit you got carjacked? that must've been terrifying
oh yeah in the moment it was pretty wild. had a hard time sleeping that night obviously. but honestly between my roommate and my family & friends and everybody being very cool about it and letting me talk through it like, IMMEDIATELY, the discomfort was honestly pretty limited.
PLUS my car was a piece of shit anyway. it was so shitty that it actually broke down on the dude who stole it, which led to the police catching him. it ALSO led to my insurance company declaring the car totaled and paying me the full value of the damn thing, which helped me get a new car pretty quickly.
my roommate also had the catalytic converter stolen off their car in that parking lot a few days later, so they were actually 100% cool with breaking our lease at that apartment and moving somewhere else pretty much right away, and we magically found a really NICE apartment in our budget, like. nicer than the old place by A Significant Margin.
BASICALLY it sucked and was bad, but it snowballed very quickly into me having a way nicer car and apartment than i did before, so???
i can't, uh, really complain about this man taking my car from me at gunpoint, aside from the fact that it made me briefly afraid for my life and also i had to interact with cops a lot afterward???
and honestly. one of the cops was like a really hot butch woman and i know I KNOW ACAB okay? and like im aroace so its not like i wouldve done anything anyway but like. im also gay and i have eyes you know if it had to be ANY cop im just saying,

What's that, you say? I can get a 15 year old car with 4 previous owners, 30 reports in the maintenance history, and nearly 200,000 miles on it, all for the low, low price of just two and a half times the kelley blue book value, plus title, tag, and taxes? And I can't take it for a test drive or even turn it on because the rear differential is being replaced? Why, I'd be a fool not to buy it right here, right now, cash! Just tell me when I can pick it up in a week or two.

there is something endlessly ironic about how maybe the only two places in my life where ive lived where ive been able to subconsciously feel safe and calm down are in two of the most dangerous cities in america lmao. not where ive grown up most definetely not anywhere ive lived w my parents in america. no. nope. off the fucking map the times when ive ditched it from home and lived w friends. off my parents fucking grid. able to actually breathe. dont know what it says about me that i feel way more comfortable with gunshots and whatnot than w my parents but. it sure says something
