It was your nap time and you didn’t want it today. Usually you absolutely loved your naps, even out of your headspace, but today you didn’t want to go to sleep. Which confused Billie a lot along with you being extra clingy today. She didn’t know the reason why you have been acting different but hopefully she’ll get to the bottom of it.

“Come on babygirl. What’s the matter?” She asked you softly as she bends down to your eye level. “Nu wan nap!” You pouted and crossed your arms angrily. She chuckled and caressed your face gently with her ring covered fingers. “I know that baby but why?” She asked once again. You dropped your gaze and got embarrassed. “I Nu wan chu to weave agains…”you mumbled out as your eyes got teary. “What do you mea- oh…I get it.” Billie replied as she remembered yesterday when she put you down for a nap and a few minutes later was called by her brother to go do a quick interview, so she called one of her friends to look after you.

When you woke up and found Billie wasn’t there with you you started crying. Her friend got you to calm down enough to go back to sleep and when Billie got home, her friend told her what had happened. You are scared that when you go to sleep that she won’t be there when you wake up. “Babygirl I’m sorry I wasn’t there when you woke up, mommy got busy but I promise you when you wake up after your nap, I’ll be right there with you okay? Cmon…I’ll lay down and sing to you precious girl.” She said softly and picked you up in her arms and carried you to y’all’s shared bedroom where she laid you in the bed and got in beside you.

“What do you want mommy to sing sweet girl?” She asked softly, her voice as sooth as honey. “Lovely Pweasie…” you yawned out as you laid your head on her pillow like breast. She smiled and ran her fingers through your hair as she starts to hum the melody and starts to sing.

Grumpy wasn’t even a big enough word to describe it. You were extremely unhappy. You hadn’t been a very good girl lately for your Mama. You were sass mouthing her a lot. It was your fifth time in timeout this week and it was only Tuesday. It wasn’t that you were trying to be bad, you were actually a good girl and always did what mama told you. You didn’t know why you were acting up but you wanted to stop.

After your timeout was over mama came over to get you.

“Ok baby doll look at me come here” she said, her tone softer than it was when she put you in timeout. Billie pulled you into her lap and looked at your frown.

“Hey no frowning. You know why you were put here you were very rude to mama earlier.”

When she said that you looked down at your lap, fiddling sheepishly with your fingers. You wanted to be good, you really did but something was stopping you. You nodded and hugged Billie.

~Later-~

“Hey sweetheart I’m gonna make a start on lunch what would you like?”

You think for a second before answering “baba.”

“You can have a baba at nap time baby. You need real food first.”

That was not what you wanted to hear. You threw your crayons down on the table.

Billie watched as you started to tear up and scream. After watching you for a bit she came over and pulled you into her lap. Usually she would let you cry it out, you had your moments. But this one seemed different. 

She held your face in her hands. “Hey hey hey, what’s got my little girl so worked up?” She tried to ask but got no response. You just gripped her shirt and cried.

“Ok ok shhhh. It’s ok princess” she kissed you gently and rocked you until your cries subsided to hiccups and sniffles.

You looked up at her with glassy eyes and a red nose. “Mama” you whispered as you gripped her tighter.

“What’s got you so upset? You haven’t been yourself lately.” Billie asked again.

You just shrugged and hid your face in her neck.

“I think someone’s dealing with some big emotions. Is that right?”

You nodded and slipped further into Billie’s arms hiding away from the world. She picked you up and swayed with you gently patting your bum.

“Sweetheart, you should’ve told mama. I would’ve tried to help you” she soothed

“M sawi mama. Didn’t know how tell you.”

She held you tightly and walked to the kitchen with you secure on her hip. As you dug your face further into her neck you heard the microwave open and the buttons beeping. When you looked up, you saw Billie was warming a bottle for you. 

“You’re only getting this because you’re upset and clearly need a nap. You’re having food when you wake up” she said.

You laid your head back down on her and she took that as an unspoken agreement. Billie pulled the bottle out of the microwave and tested it on her wrist to make sure it wasn’t too hot and then she brought you into her room to lay down

Once you were in her room she laid you down in the bed and changed you into pyjamas before laying down herself and pulling you on top of her. You both moved around until you were situated with your body lying across Billie and your head in the crook of her arm.

Billie put the bottle to your lips and you took it. You gently closed your eyes. The room was silent. The only sounds came from your nose as you tried to breathe around all the leftover snot from your tantrum earlier and the small sounds coming from the bottle as you eagerly drank your milk.

Billie softly hummed as she fed you eventually falling asleep as well.

Name: Caroline. Family call me Cal, but the majority of people stick to Caroline, except one very dear friend who calls me Fudge Fairy ( its a joke from a very drunken teenage night out, and it has stuck for 24 years!).

Sign: Libra, October baby, not too many days away from Jimin, but a good few years away. I am considered the caregiver among my friends. A typical Libra trait. “I just don’t see why you are always clingy towards Billie! She’s almost done with the album and you constantly have to be near her! It’s messing her up!” Finneas argued with you. Billie left to go to a interview and finneas asked why you have been attached to Billie for a few days now and this arguement sparked.

“I really don’t see how that’s any of your business fin…” you say quietly as you look down embarrassedly. “It is my business when you are distracting Billie and possibly mess up her album we’ve been working so hard on!” Finneas shouts and you whimper as you curl up into a ball and start shaking. Finneas frowns and curses himself as he realized what he just did.

“Shit shit shit…” he scrambled around the room trying to find his phone so he could call his sister. He found his phone and immediately called Billie. “Hey.” Billie said through the phone and he freaked out telling her what had just happened. Billie felt her blood boil at her brother but pushed those feelings aside and told him that she would be there as soon as she could.

Twenty minutes later Billie came barging into the studio and found you still on the floor curled into a ball whimpering. “Oh babygirl…it’s okay I’m right here…” she said as she drops to her knees and tried to gently pull your hands away from your face. “There’s my pretty baby…” she said as she gives you a reassuring smile. Fin just stands there awkwardly and Billie moves her head to the door to signal that he needs to get out and he did.

“It’s okay…mommy’s got you precious one…” billie said softly next to your ear as she picks you up and sits you on her lap facing her. You sniffle and look up at her with a sad expression which causes her heart to break. “Fin s-said I too clingy…” you mumbled out but she heard you and cooed at you. “I know baby. What he said wasn’t true and I will talk to him about that later but right now I just want to focus on you.” She said with a smile.

You nodded and snuggled into her more but tense up. “Hey what’s wrong honey…?” Billie questioned you and you snap out of it. “I-im sorry…I don’t know what im doing…you don’t have time to be my caregiver right now im so sorry billie..” you sputtered out and went to get off of her but her hands went around your waist and made you sit back down on her lap. “Hey. Don’t ever apologize for being in your headspace. You know I love when I can take care of you. You never ever bother me okay? I absolutely love taking care of you, it keeps me grounded and it distracts me from my work.” She explains and you nod in understanding.

“So if you want to drop into your headspace you absolutely can princess, I know you haven’t for a while.” She said and you felt yourself slowly start to slip into your headspace again. You nod and stuff your face into her breast to which she giggles at. She knows how much you love her boobs so she doesn’t mind when you do this, not one bit. She holds you in her arms and starts rocking you back and forth to sleep. She’s definitely beating Finneas ass after this.

Six Feet Under (Steve Harrington x Fem!Reader)

Prompt: Steve dies trying to save the reader from one of the creatures of the upsidedown and this is all basically the aftermath of his passing.

Notes: This is prob the saddest thing my mind has ever created but it was inspired off the song “Six feet under” by Billie Eilish, I’m so sorry. I luv Steve sm but he’s such a self sacrificing idiot is that just smth that comes with all characters named Steve or. btw, for anyone that hasn’t heard that song, I high key recommend it, it sets the whole ambience for this story.

Steve was the softest with you, you both grew closer through shared trauma, just as Jonathan and Nancy did.

The way he looked at you was like no other, you couldn’t possibly feel more loved by anyone than him. Always picking flowers for you, bringing you warm drinks when it was cold, placing his jacket to drape over you when you walked out of the movies to prevent you from getting a cold.

“The mist is what’ll get you.” He’d say kissing the side of your head, smiling to you sweetly.

Steve was such a caregiver, you saw that, in fact everyone did. Always putting others before him, putting you before him, so much so that that’s what killed him.

You couldn’t feel anything for days, everything was a blur, sounds were distant 

“What?”

Seemed to be like the only word you could utter as a response.

“Are you feeling better?” Nancy would ask on her way in to check up on you while your parents were downstairs talking to the Wheelers. 

“It should’ve been me.” 

Shushing you as she then sat on the side of your bed, draping her upper half over you in a comforting embrace, you couldn’t feel any different, she wasn’t Steve, but she was doing what she could.

Nancy too missed Steve, but seeing you like this, knowing it could’ve been Jonathan made her heart ache. 

“(Y/N) He loved you so much..” You could hear her voice cracking, the images of the gooey monstrosity gut him mercilessly once he shoved you out of the way. El was too slow to stop him, you couldn’t blame her, you only blamed yourself.

Dustin not to mention was crushed, just as inconsolable as you were, the boys did their best to help him through this, but Dustin was going through the anger stage, rightfully so.

You still struggled to accept it, struggled to accept he was no longer there to hold you, to keep you company, to make you laugh, to listen to you as you rambled on until you no longer knew what you were saying. 

His smile, his laugh, his voice, his touch all of it, gone.

Nancy rubbed your arm as she closed her eyes trying to avoid making her sniffles noticeable. 

They were all making funeral plans, but you couldn’t be bothered.

You physically couldn’t get out of bed. 

You could’ve sworn you no longer had strength, your mom would have to beg you to take sips of water and have bites of your favorite home cooked meals, but nothing made you budge.

No more sweet dates, no more goofy jokes and soothing rubs from Steve. 

No more eye rolling comments, no more seeing him waiting outside your driveway, no more Steve Harrington.

It was like there was a black hole in your chest, swallowing every emotion you could possibly feel.

It had been six months since Steve’s passing, you were able to get out of bed now, still it felt like you carried bags of bricks everywhere, dragging your feet, nobody had seen you smile for months, not even a single crack of a pressed lip smile.

You were barely taking care of yourself, your makeup bag had remained untouched since your soulmate passed, taking a shower was draining, you often caught yourself crying in there.

Your mom would have to help you rinse out all the suds and wrap the towel around you just as if you were six years old again.

The story she heard was that you and the rest of the group had gone camping, you fell and Steve reached down to catch you, pulling you to safety, he slipped and fell to his death, explaining the wounds.

But it was the monsters of the upside down.

They were out to shimmer their way into the real world, your only real weapon that could withstand them was El, but she was only a kid, a brave kid of course, you were so grateful for her courage, you couldn’t blame her, she had already blamed herself enough. 

You grabbed Steve’s bat, whacking away at the slimy obscenity, you must’ve hit a sweet spot because it turned it’s attention towards you.

You did your best to help El, trying to buy her more time, you kept smacking until you broke the bat in half, leaving you exposed.

Staring blankly as the thing turned towards you, no eyes but somehow you felt it looking right through you, you were ready to go, never wanting to show an ounce of fear, you closed your eyes ready to indulge the pain it would bring you.

Nothing came of it, before you could open your eyes you were yanked by Jonathan who kept screaming 

“Don’t look back (Y/N) look at me!”

Your eyebrows knit together, confused, you never would’ve imagined. You didn’t listen, curiosity killed the cat for a reason. Just before you could turn your head, Jonathan knew better than to let you do this.

He pulled you into his chest just as you heard Steves groaning, your eyes widened 

“Steve? Steve?!?” 

You screaming trying to fight against Jonathans embrace, but he gripped you closely, the pain in his face said it all. 

Imagining the worst seemed to be your only reaction, shriveling up as you put two and two together you let go, pressing your face against Jonathan's chest as you went limp, listening to Steve and the familiar sound of the monsters sticky extremities until he went quiet.

You continued to love Steve to this day, the only place you wanted to be was where he was now buried.

Bringing him flowers every day, sitting criss cross, bringing him daisies, roses and watery eyes. It didn’t take long until you’d spend hours sitting there, talking to him, telling him about your day.

You tried your best to not get angry with him during your visits, but at times you would.

“It should’ve been me Steve.” 

You would look down to the grass, fiddling with the petals still immersed in guilt and mourning.

Over time you began to carry conversations like you once had when he was still with a bleeding heart.

“I miss you Steve.” You’d tell him each visit “I love you Steve Harrington.” 

You promised his death wouldn’t be in vain, you wouldn’t take your life no matter how guilty you felt, Steve deserved better than this. Instead you decided to avenge him, go after the creature who did this.

Nothing was going to leave your love six feet under and go unscathed.

Even if you suffered the same fate in the process, you owed it to him, plus it was comforting to know you’d join him sometime sooner or later, but not until it was your own time.

You explained all of this to him during one of your visits, always leaving flowers before his tombstone.

Three months later you began to notice little blooming roses and daisies scattered before his headstone.

It was heartwarming, almost as if he still continued to offer you flowers even in death.

You’d care for them of course, watering them periodically, telling the keepers to not cut them, they’d see you visit every day, nobody was as dedicated to a deceased loved one as much as you were, therefore they decided to help you nurture the bloom.

Raking your fingers across the greenery of the flowers you whispered “I will always love you Steve Harrington.”
