What are custom styled looks?

Styled looks are a section in Create A Sim (CAS) that allow you to choose a look for your Sim containing the same items in different color swatches. As you can see, the EA default styled looks are...interesting.

The styled looks that appear when you're dressing up your Sim are sorted by gender and age group -- for example, you wouldn't see the same custom styled looks for an elder female and teen male.

I'm creating these custom looks primarily in the base game because the base game is now free, so anyone can play it, and other Simmers have created a lot of content I love to use in my game.

Why would you want my new custom styled looks in your game? It's very easy to dress up townies or other Sims in reasonable outfits when you don't feel like spending 20 minutes in CAS!

I would like to thank MizoreYukii for the tutorial that allowed me to learn how to make the custom styled looks myself, and I highly suggest downloading her EA default styled looks hider.

Ok so I thought I was done when I finished Horse Ranch, but then I realized there were a bunch of things added via Base Game updates and we deserve to not have to see those if we don't want either!

This includes everything EA has added via free Base Game update that wasn't included in starbeary's Base Game hiders because they weren't out yet!

THIS ALSO INCLUDES THE BASE GAME INFANT UPDATE!

If you’re familiar with Starbeary’s hiders, this is exactly the same thing but for the free Base Game updates. If you’re not familiar with Starbeary’s hiders, here’s what they do:

Hides the item in the CAS Catalog so when you are making/editing Sims, you won’t even have to look at it anymore!

Disables the item for random so that it will not spawn on any new townies. (Townies already generated before adding hiders will still have any items you’ve hidden. These hiders only apply to all townies generated after you put the hiders in your game).

Everything is in one zip file and all items are separated and categorized into folders. They have the name that Sims 4 Studio assigns to them. You can go through and pick which items you do and don’t want.

HOW TO USE:

Put all the packages for items you DON’T want into your mods folder.

Delete all the packages for items you DO want.

Never again look at another CAS item you don’t want to!

Updated Lashes

All my lashes will now appear in the new eyelash category in CAS! You can find them within the makeup section, and they will no longer require you to remove piercings or moles to apply them.

The latest base game update also lets you choose which outfits to apply the lashes to, finally!

Unfortunately, the textures will still conflict with rings and glasses, as the texture areas were not changed with the new update.

New Conflict Icons

The thumbnails now include icons showing which lashes conflict with what. This makes it easier to identify which lashes to apply if you also want your Sim to wear glasses or rings.

Deleting Old Lashes

You can download all the new versions below, but feel free to delete all my old lashes that are in the wrong categories. You don't HAVE to delete them, as they still work like before, but I recommend it to reduce clutter in CAS.

Updating Your Sims

Your existing Sims won’t automatically start wearing the new lashes, so you will need to reapply them.

I also highly recommend the EA eyelash remover by Kijiko for a less blocky look!  You can get it here

Laptop Mode

The lashes will not work well with laptop mode turned on in graphics settings. If you use a lower-end laptop, you can still try to turn it off, but you may experience performance issues.

having a bunch of "historical OCs" as a kid and being into SPN as an adult is so wild bc like-

I'll be sitting there, minding my own damned business, not even tRYING to get into Cas Kinfeels at ALL

and then suddenly I remember some random Lore about the ~13th century Christian pilgrim OC I had in ~4th grade and its like getting WHACKED into Casmode remembering something about a vessel from ~800 years ago. Like "wAIT. I HAD A HORSE. THAT WAS THE FIRST TIME I FELL OF A HORSE. AND IT WAS AWFUL. I DIDN'T KNOW HUMAN LEGS COULD BREAK LIKE THAT"

and then you remember that your OC's horse's name was "Cinnamon" (see: 4th grade) so now you're tempted to go down a research rabbit hole on if this person could have know what cinnamon was and what word they would have used for it

despite this being information I will use *checks notes* never

....also how the FUCK have I been Like This(tm) MY WHOLE LIFE and only thought about majoring in Archeology LAST SPRING
