Happy [Belated] 64th Birthday from that BIG somewhere out there to voice actress Catherine "Cathy" Cavadini, who gave a mouse girl, Miss Tanya Mousekewitz, sister of Don Bluth's An American Tail's Fievel and Divine Diva of Amblimation's Fievel Goes West fame lots of Dreams to Dream, and who gave a superheroine, Blossom, the smarts (or brains) to help Cartoon Network's The Powerpuff Girls save the world before her bedtime...and with love!

A friend of mine who also watched RVB back in the day, but never saw past season 5, has gotten up to 14. In particular "Get Bent" episode. After processing all the undertones of THAT, we started joking around about the voices; the VAs all did a very good job as the "alternate counterparts", but in general they don't exactly sound "similar" to versions we know. I threw out some VA names I thought could pull off a lot of attitudes of the characters, obviously sounding different but still sort hit the same tones. My friend got a chuckle out of it, so I'll share them here with some explanations (if you know the VAs, imagine them saying whatever your favorite line for that character is)-

Simmons; Olivia Olsen (Marceline, if she weren't cool or confident), similar in the sense the voice is "low" but not "deep", has a good rolling timbre when explaining something/figuring out a problem, and she's great at sounding like she's losing her temper/throwing a fit

Grif; Catherine Cavadini (leaning toward her Blossom voice, but as an adult), a voice that can sound sort of "soft", but has a little rumble to it when angry, almost goes into a squeak when confused/afraid and very good at sounding exhausted/whiny

Tucker; Cree Summer, because she can literally play any character (she's just that good), but specifically because her voice generally has a nice scratchy quality, and she's capable of making it go very light/high but still deliver lines with any emotion (slightly leaning toward her Miranda Killgallen voice, but not such a "mean girl")

Church; Pamela Adlon, also has a good texture to her voice that can get low with a rumble, but she can raise it up to a screech, really sells the attitude of ranting while extremely irritated, and delivers a great dead-pan (if you watched any of those Tinkerbell movies, she was Vidia, so kind of in that pocket)

(I had other possible thoughts, but these four were very solid to me~)

What if: Sonic 5 has live-action film? It stars all main protagonists from Sonic 5 game (Alex, Rabbit Tom, Kelly, Rooney, Zoe, etc.) and not Sonic in this film. (This film is produced by Sony Pictures and Toei instead Paramount Pictures and will be a Netflix or Apple original film) John Cohen from Angry Birds films will be additional producer. Story is inspired of Sonic Heroes, Ojamajo Doremi and Sonic 5 game.

Alex, Rabbit Tom, Kelly, Rooney, Zoe and Katie has voiced by children.

Tails' voice actress is changed to Alicyn Packard from Sonic Drone Home.

Mighty's voice is reprised by Danny McBride. (the voice of Bomb from Angry Birds movies)

Ben, Idris and Keanu reprises as Sonic, Knuckles and Shadow.

Red is guest character and voiced by Jason Sudeikis.

Orbot voiced by Chris Pratt and Cubot is Deven Mack.

Bartleby voiced by Ryan Reynolds.

All of Abby's Fuzzlies voiced by children.

Infinite's voice is reprised by Liam O'Brien.

Live-action cast.

Momoko, Hana, Onpu (from Ojamajo Doremi/Sonic 5), Abby (from the show of same name) and True (from True and the Rainbow Kingdom) has portrayed by children about their age.

Altezza (from Fushigiboshi no Futago Hime) portrayed by Dove Cameron.

Doremi (from Ojamajo Doremi) portrayed by Selena Gomez.

Knuckles' enemies (Willoughby (Ellie Taylor) and Mason (Kid Cudi)) and Wade's family (Wendy (Stockard Channing), Wanda (Edi Patterson)) from Knuckles series now appears in this film.

Jane Carrey will portray Sage?

Jim Carrey is Gerald... again? No, it's Jim Carrey is Gerald Jr.. (Also, Dr. Done-It is acted by Jim Carrey too?!)

Shemar and Natasha will repries role and not in-likeness this time as Rachel and Randall.

Alyla reprises as Maria but hologram (like Longclaw did from Sonic 2 film) and flashback, also will role Marle (from Puyo Puyo Tetris 2/Sonic 5 game) - the Shadow's girlfriend (young Marle portrayed by children).

Previous main actors will reprise their roles. (James as Tom, Tika as Maddie, Jim as Dr. Robotnik, Adam as Wade, Lee as Stone and Krysten as Rockwell)

Comet-san (from Cosmic Baton Girl Comet-San) portrayed by Anya Taylor-Joy.

Altezza's parents portrayed by Catherine Cavadini (Camelia) and Scott Menville (Aaron).

Gerald Sr. is not dead but banished in Chaos energy reactor and never come back yet?..

THE ART OF AN AMERICAN TAIL: FIEVEL GOES WEST (1991)

Today, all of Tumblr, may I present to all of you something VERY rare this way comes:

A series of 10 photos that I just happened to find on the Worth Point website of a rare portfolio, though already bought by and sold to someone on eBay long ago, of actual, rare storyboards, animation production cels and drawings, and even concept art for Amblimation's work on An American Tail: Fievel Goes West (1991).

And inside this extremely rare portfolio, though long since bought out on eBay by someone else long, long ago, are some 20+ pieces of storyboards, animation cels and drawings, and even conceptual artwork done for An American Tail: Fievel Goes West by Steven Spielberg's London, England, UK-based Amblimation studio (which was founded on the back of the success of 1988's Who Framed Roger Rabbit, and which is also the ancestor of today's DreamWorks, the latter being the studio most famous for Shrek, as well as Kung Fu Panda and How to Train Your Dragon) between 1989 and 1991...among the rare pieces of art in that portfolio includes some of the following things:

Some rare animation art that were done for and during the making of Fievel Goes West, including a storyboard panel of the struggling Mousekewitz family, a colorful drawing of Tiger being held captive by a tribe of Native American mice (who obviously decided to adopt him as some sort of god), a rare prototype logo for An American Tail II before they eventually changed the final title to An American Tail: Fievel Goes West, a model sheet of the sewer mice crowd, an animation drawing of Fievel, and some Fievel facial expressions, plus a running Fievel drawing, a drawing of the train that took the Mousekewitz family out west to Green River, Utah, some kind of animation layout drawing, and a map of the continental USA with different kinds of cheese depending on each state, plus a drawing of a falling candlestick, all done for Fievel Goes West.

And finally, last but not least among the twenty plus pieces of storyboards, animation cels and drawings, and conceptual artwork done for An American Tail: Fievel Goes West by the Amblimation studio between 1989 and 1991, are two production drawings that really intrigues or even fascinates me the most...

And a cleaned-up production drawing of the dress worn by Fievel's sister Tanya Mousekewitz after her beautiful and pretty saloon showgirl makeover some 48 minutes into the 75 minute long Fievel Goes West movie. (maybe I really liked or especially admired the latter design for some reason, but I just don't know, for sure, but anyway...)

Well, yes, I know it's been over three decades late for all this, but I really do wish that there really could have been a beautiful coffee-table book on "The Art of An American Tail: Fievel Goes West" or something like that!
