okay I am predisposed to hate Richard because of the youth pastor vibes and I cannot fuck with that even a little. he never stood a chance with me. but after watching 1x09, like. he actually does suck, right, it's not just me? it's fucked up that he took Julia to kill Kira without talking to her about it? he tells her that she will know what to do by doing whatever is hardest, and that's how you get redemption? like.... no? even *if* that were true, you can teach that in a way that's supportive rather than throwing someone into the deep end like that without giving them the chance to think about what they're doing. just because he's testing her for the sake of becoming a better person or whatever and for learning to use magic to "do good"... doesn't make it okay for him to be testing her like that at all...
