Another Merlin Magic Revealed Fic!!

So here's the fun thing about this WIP. I started watching Merlin in 2021, and I only got about halfway through season 2 before I stopped watching it because I accidentally found out how the show ended and to this day I still can't force myself through that emotional turmoil BUT I spent an ungodly amount of time reading Merlin fanfiction and scrolling through character wikis, so I still know a good amount of what happens in the show even though I haven't watched all of it.

All that being said, I started writing a Merthur magic reveal fic back in late 2021, and wrote about a page and a half before I stopped working on it. And I never outlined it so I actually have no idea where this fic was going or if I'll actually finish it.

My best guess to what the premise of the fic was going to be, based on what is written already, is this:

Merlin saved Arthur's life with magic (again) but Arthur caught him this time. Of course there's the whole "Merlin begs for his life and promises to leave Camelot because he's terrified Arthur will hate him forever now not just for having magic but also because they've worked together for almost a decade now and he's been lying the whole time" but Arthur just isn't entirely sure how he feels about it. He tells Merlin not to worry about it, that they'll keep his magic between them and talk more later, and over the course of the fic, Arthur starts asking Merlin to do magic in front of him because he's truly curious about it until, well, Merlin's eyes are so pretty when they're burning gold and the way his lips shape around the incantations are very distracting and woah magic was outlawed but now it's hot????? Cue Arthur having his "wait am I in love with my best friend/manservant" bisexual confusion and literally everyone being like "you didn't know????" And well Arthur was just planning on making Merlin court sorcerer once magic was legalized but maybe they can be co-kings?

And basically I think I was just writing my own version of the popular Merthur fic tropes like "Merlin's magic revealed" and "everyone knows Arthur and Merlin are in love except for Arthur and Merlin"

But who knows for sure? Not me lmao

best brazilian dish for poetically serving people Hannibal-style?

ok so i might be the worst person to ask this to bc my literal first thought was that hannibal would make an amazing beans with rice (he WOULD like i bet hannibal’s saturday bbq is the talk of the month he probably makes the best farofa i just know it)

but with that said, buchada came to my mind right after, which like not very poetic (sorry about that) but it’s literally made with goat entrails and i think that’s something hannibal would find interesting

i just know that there must be way better dishes to bring up but i either don’t know or don’t remember them i’m so sorry (but still in the topic of brazilian food i need hannibal to try to make brigadeiro and to everyone to say that it’s good but it’s not Actually Good brigadeiro bc he didn’t use leite moça (bc he would refuse to use canned condensed milk even though that’s the Correct Way to make brigadeiro))

Last Movie: Blood and Black Lace by Mario Bava. What a romp. It's gorgeously stylish Italian horror/murder mystery. It's inspired me to refinish the mannequin legs I've had forever, maybe with a Pucci print theme.

Currently reading: I'm about to finish A Canticle for Liebowitz by Walter M. Miller. It was written in the late 1950s but it's probably my favorite novel about knowledge and the bleakness of humanity's folly. It's also wryly funny. Like bone-dry. Next up I am finally re-reading Le Morte d'Arthur.

Currently watching: Babylon 5. Holy shit, this show is intense and complex and for the time it was made the production is fantastic (the 90s cgi is not bad -- they only use it for outer space shots mostly). I am enthralled by all these stubborn, flawed characters and all the impossible moral conundrums. If you like Star Trek DS9, I'd really be curious what you think of this show (and recommend it highly if you haven't seen it).

Currently Craving: I'm a little out of touch with my cravings at the moment.

Coffee or Tea: I used to drink tea all the time, but I've been a coffee freak for most of my life.

I neglected to reply to this one in a timely manner, as well as the ask @cedarxwing, and now I cannot find the meme this was a response to.

However, I'm pretty sure 1.) was something to the effect of "What do you love about this character?" and 2.) was "What do you dislike about this character?"

1.) I struggle not to write an essay (and I have done multiple academic papers on this) but it's the Disability and Alienation. It's the way that he's so deliberately written to demonstrate that he wasn't born a monster, but was enmonstered through abuse and social rejection. It's Will sitting in the dark, talking to D's "shadow" and promising to get him help. It's the way that the first time he has a chance to be A Person he snatches at it and tries desperately to keep a hold of it, even if he fails.

2.) In this household we don't talk about That, but You Know.

Currently watching: Shogun because my bf wanted me to watch it so we can talk about more stuff hihi (Iz another fun watch so if you love period dramas, go for it! It has like action, romance, drama, and ofc, a bit of gore)

Currently Craving: sweet corn Korean pizza. I cannot express enough how much sweet corn with cheese and hot sauce on pizza dough gives me so much joy

The sound of the bells would reverberate across the Harlem River from Our Lady of Mount Carmel. The first few months at the psychiatric center were hellish as he couldn’t stand the ringing. Eventually it became a familiar and even welcomed call, like an old friend coming to visit him everyday.
