AhEm... YOUR INTERNET PROVIDER(S) CAN SEE THE THINGS YOU DO WITH YOUR INTERNET AND THAT INCLUDES MESSAGING

(and discord... because you're using the internet to get on there... As hotspots too)

This means if a content creator is messaging a minor in an inappropriate or bullying way (in the UK at least) they would come knocking at you door asking for all your personal information, identification, means of contact and be asking questions.

Has that content creator been arrest yet? Nope.

Is cyber bullying/harassment a crime in the UK?

Yes! Under the laws:

Protection from Harassment Act 1997

Malicious Communications Act 1988

Defamation Act 2017

And can even prevent you from getting jobs in the future of your employment wants to look at your social media! Which is legal! (as in they want to make sure you're not a weirdo or anything! They can't deny you a job based on political stuff or opinions on other companies!)

Is messaging a minor inappropriately a crime?

alright so – tw for violence/murder on this one – I've talked about Marley and I've talked about Nile but I haven't really talked much about the weight of the dead girl on their shoulders. so a little about Vi, and mostly about what happened to her:

→ she was just barely eighteen when she died.

→ she was eighteen – her middle brother was ten weeks from twenty-one – their eldest brother was twenty-five and drunk and furious with his sister for skipping her tert training classes in favor of her girlfriend for the last fucking time. (it was always the last fucking time with Jake. Vi and Marley had been in some sort of love for years; they started laughing it off whenever they met down in the empty train corridors outside Lacrymo.)

→ she was eighteen, and Jake had been her father for the last ten years, working seventy-hour weeks in the refinery that killed their parents since he was only fifteen. he was supposed to be the one in tert training; he'd given that up for Violet.

→ and her middle brother, a mnemonist, twenty and soft-spoken and always waiting for the next catastrophe, who pinned clippings from the paper to the living room wall, who slept on the couch so she could have the second bedroom, was more a mother than anything. (he cut her hair when she got industrial glue in it; he gave her space whenever she brought Marley home to the tiny flat over Duke's Penny Grocery. Jake was furious that she always seemed to love Lachlan best.)

→ Violet was deep into teen subcultures, the kind of punk who's pressed underneath the bootheel of the system, working to claw her way up to humanity. but to her brothers she was precious, always: she was sharp, and intelligent, and eager to learn, and she was the baby. to be kept safe. to be cherished.

→ to be killed, apparently.

→ the three people who were in the room when Violet Szarozy died all have different accounts. Jake will say that it was a drunken fugue, the story that got him put on a fourth addiction watchlist, and the panic defense that got him off with eight months' imprisonment and two years' probation. the company sprung him early: they needed him back on the line sooner than that. no one's trying to take a refinery job.

→ Marley will shy away before excusing herself from the details: she was horrified, and hiding in the wardrobe, and she had to keep herself from crying until Jake stalked from the room so he wouldn't find her, too. then she sat on the floor with Vi – with Vi's brother Lachlan, his hands soaked in his sister's blood, and all the wonderment of youth was cut short. no better future allowed for this.

→ the mnemonist's is probably the most accurate to life.

→ but he died thirteen years ago.

→ (pick up. carry on.)

Ok, so, Catherine Appleby is a witch, - specialty: necromancy to be exact - and she lives in a small and haunted cottage in the late Victorian era (maybe), doing witchy things and selling witchy stuff. She is not talented at practising necromancy which is probably the reason why the ghosts stuck around. She is sarcastic, stoic and a bit of a lone wolf. Also quite gay.

Her previous girlfriend died and her mentor is a healer who couldnt save her because it was too late ("I can heal people who are sick or injured, I can't bring them back to life") so Catherine, heartbroken, is questioning the healing path more and more and she decides to pursue necromancy to be able to do that.

One time one of her necromancy spells goes wrong and instead of putting someone dead from the past into the future, still alive, she accidentally catapults someone from the 21st century into her own time.

Introducing: Evelyn Mellington. I don't have such a grasp on her character yet but I do like to imagine she is somewhat of a goth and quite drawn to antiques/the past/history in the first place. She likes to bond with the ghosts in the house and finds the time travelling adventure absolutely fascinating. (Self insert here, ngl).

Since Evelyn is not a magician, Catherine, with a somewhat guilty concience about this whole thing, tries to teach Evelyn magic, so she can get back to her own time. Hijinks ensue.

Also they fall in love.

This design is partially inspired by the ShowBiz Pizza concept unification tape bc I’m obsessed with it as well as some lowkey creepy bear mascot costumes I found on Pinterest, I like the idea of them having realistic bear claws and retractable teeth for the intimidation factor, their eyes are also security cameras bc the census bureau sees all lolz
