unlike in the game, badge gave up the whole travelling merchant thing pretty quick due to a slight incident they may have had with their projectile badge. This spooked them out of it pretty soon after it first kicked off, since YEAH THESE ARENT SILLY TRINKETS THEY ARE ACC PRETTY DANGEROUS OOPSIES!! instead they decided to settle in mafia town before the whole mafia thing happened and became a baker. Yes, it would make more sense for them to be a chef, but I find the idea of huge, terrifying people that have a stoic resting bitch face making tiny pink cupcakes fucking hilarious so nO. They stayed over the mafia takeover bc they were stubborn and now try to make sure they don't die from eating their HORRIFIC pastries while also running their own baking show

Cookie decided to try traveling, possibly to try new foods or learn recipes, smthn like that. Yeah you can prolly see how well that went for her 💀 she's fine, just a lil more twitchy then usual lmao. It doesn’t matter what google says oatmeal is it matters what you think oatmeal is. Propaganda under the cut:

Cereal

Oatmeal is a type of cereal grain

It’s ate in the morning in a bowl. sounds like cereal.

Quaker Oats was the first trademark for a “breakfast cereal”

Soup

You cook it in water, there’s water in there (it’s made similarly to soup)

The add-ons such as fruit can be considered separate ingredients to the oatmeal, to make a kind of soup

It has a soupy texture

Stew

Sure, it’s cooked in water, but a stew is regarded as a sort of soup where the stuff INSIDE THE WATER/LIQUID is the main component, and is usually ABOVE THE WATER/LIQUID. Hence, the oats

The add ons (such as fruit) can be considered stew ingredients especially because they definitely sit above the water

Salad

Using The Cube Rule of Food Identification, oatmeal could be considered a hot salad, because it’s all liquid-like, so there is no constant of where the food is.

If you put it in a bowl, isn’t anything a salad?

3. what kinds of music do they like?

grant listens to a bit of everything depending on his mood but his favorite and most listened to genres are metal & classic emo. he was 1000000% listening to korn, green day, and my chemical romance on his walks home from school (and he's never stopped!)

15. are they a frivolous spender or a miser?

something in between, i'd say! his parents are very wealthy and grant himself is quite well off but his grandparents are extraordinarily frugal, so he's inherited a mix of habits. he doesn't go out of his way to spend a lot of money (he'll treat himself here and there) but when he does need or want to spend money, he doesn't think twice about if it's expensive or not. he's not too concerned with the price.

24. what are habits they've picked up from other people?

this isn't so much a "habit" but he has a weird (as in unique!!) combo accent because he's absorbed his grandparents' speech patterns. i wish i could accurately convey what he sounds like when i write his dialogue but it's something like a mix of the accents & speech qualities of this person + this person

and it's not really just the accent, it's the dialect as well. sometimes he uses the american words and spellings for things, and then not for others. like sure, apartment, but also footpath and 6:30 as "half 6"

BUT back to the o.g. question:

the money thing is one and not just in the context described above. there's also a WEIRD family trait where you basically are required to get into a heated argument every time about paying for meals or getting money in holiday cards, and grant is the same way. catch him guiltily trying to shove that 20 bucks in his christmas card back into YOUR wallet!

another one! it's very controversial (debate in the comments lmao) but he learned to put milk in BEFORE cereal from his sister elizabeth, who did it that way her whole life, and he does firmly believe it's the best way to do it.
