“Why don’t you step off my brother now? I’m sure your point has been made,” Maddox calls.

Timotheus

“I would thank him if he existed,” Timotheus says, running a finger along the front of a book.

“That thing’ll always hit its target,” Timo says, “so be careful where you point it.”

Ruben

Ruben narrows his eyes at her. “Two?”

“What happened?” Ruben calls, breathless, right behind his brother. “What the hell happened?”

Ellis

Ellis furrows his brow, in the subtle way he does. “What’d you do to Chase?”

&&

“You smell like each other anyway,” Ellis chimes in.

Charles

He looks up when they enter. “Victoria?” he says, a smile teasing his lips.

“I’m just really curious about how you’re doing.” Charles feigns innocence, shrugging as best as he can with his hands stuck behind his back.

The detective sighs, crossing his arms. “So, you’re tellin’ me someone murdered an innocent man and set it up to look like y’all bloodsuckers? And for what? Fun?”

“No,” Victoriette says as she stands up, dusting her hands off. “There was no joy in this. I think...I think someone is trying to start a war.”

Victoriette is the adopted daughter of the Vampire Queen and old enough for her Turning. Horrible time to do so, as the Allegiance for Human Protection, led by human Charles Beaumont, is trying to start a war to wipe out the vampires. Will Victoriette manage to unite the supernatural factions against this man or will her family and her kind be destroyed?

adelaida!!!! she can truly do no wrong 😌 i love her to then end of the world and back and feel a little bit bad for all of the shit she goes through in fd but she also takes it all like a champ. i mean, she also does have ashton there to fall back on when things get to be too much and needs a *ahem* distraction.

i would definitely call her a reluctant main character, considering she really pushes back against everything until she just can't ignore it anymore but it fits with her past (heavily sense of self preservation!). she's a nice contrast to characters like maddox, who doesn't have a single bone dedicated to self preservation, and victoriette, who has a strong sense of devotion to, well, everything to do with the plot and her own safety gets sidelined. more characters that tell the plot "absolutely not" please (/j)

i've found that writing her chapters get really fun once i get into her mindset (which is, actually, the hardest out of all three girls) cause she tries to put on this face of apathy but she just cares so damn much about everyone and everything.

adelaida: i refuse to be anything but coolly distant from all of this bad stuff happening also adelaida: sobs in front of ashton the second she gets the chance

oh god, i hope that i would get along with her! sadly, i don’t think we’d have that much in common so having things to talk about would be hard to come by. i would 100% hearteyes her from afar, though

Adelaida generally keeps it down since it can be a hassle to do anything else with her hair. If not down, then in a half-up/half-down kind of style

She paints them all kinds of colors! Most of the time, she has red acrylics but she’s been known to have pink, blue, black etc etc

when she was 18, she got into a really bad fight with her dad (he’s a shitty man doing shitty illegal man things and wanted her to join him). he raised a hand at her and she wasn’t going to take that, and threw some fire at him, but it backfired and their house ending up burning down instead.

the two of them kept this a secret from her mom (and technically her little brother sergio, but he was 2 at the time) but only if adelaida would help him do his shitty illegal man stuff
