anyways thinking about max and how her last waking moments were in the arms of the boy she loved. thinking about how she couldn’t even see him and she must’ve been in so much pain too. thinking about her not being able to see why lucas couldn’t play kate bush before she got to the point she was at. thinking about her not seeing the tears mixing with the blood on lucas’ face as he held her because he just got her back and now she’s going again. thinking about her in that coma not knowing lucas and erica are showing up for her all the time. thinking about her not being able to see eleven alive and well and there for her. thinking about her not knowing she might wake up an orphan because there’s been no mention of her mother at all. thinking about her life playing out as a spiraling tragedy and yet she still clung to those happy moments and the people who made her happiest because in the end she had them and only them and she only really wanted them. it wasn’t enough.

@turnedahero said!: “ don’t get in my way. ”
max whipped around from the fridge, orange juice carton in hand, "it's the fridge, wait your turn." she mumbled, rolling her eyes. it wasn’t like she was in the way deliberately. max glared for a long moment before putting the juice back and closing the door. billy was the only person she knew who woke up first thing in the morning with guns blazing. it made her crazy. she’d spent the first thirty minutes of her morning cleaning up beer cans and cigarette butts her mom, and probably neil had left scattered around the house while she was out spraypainting hawkins pd. hadn’t ended well but, whatever. while it was nice to not have billy around while she cleaned up, it was almost worse that he was around while she fixed her breakfast. talk about a loss of appetite. max moved away from the refrigerator to grab her stale toast that had popped out of the toaster. she took a bite and with a mouthful, pointedly asked, “we gonna be late to school again today?”

#dstturnssix: birthday week
↳ favourite soundtrack moment
It's you and me, won't be unhappy
And if I only could
I'd make a deal with God
And I'd get him to swap our places
I'd be running up that road
Be running up that hill
With no problems

The cleverness of making Max’s favorite song a song with the lyrics “if I only could make a deal with god and get him to swap our places” as she struggles with the guilt of Billy’s death…. Amazing.
