Not entirely valid but the most valid man in the series also hot so I'll forgive him a lot (because I am fundamentally a hypocrite Lindsay take my comments regarding toxic hot men with a pinch of salt).

Long answer - I like him! I think he's funny, I think he genuinely respects Jina which gives him major points in my book, I think lowkey the way he processes his feelings is fairly childish and he has succumbed to Saying-Things-Then-Just-Walking-Away disease like many characters in romance shows! Sad! Also regarding business etc - I think what he needs to do is grow up, similar to everyone in that love triangle, all of whom are fundamentally stuck in highschool in one way or another. However, he seems to genuinely be making efforts to do so, like when we see him working on pitching his new company, and he's the most likely out of all of them to initiate open communication (even though that's still not very likely), which again I respect. I think he definitely has flaws and he's not particularly self aware, I think he needs to learn that colours other than pastels exist but I really do genuinely like him!

okay like re: that prev quote i just reblogged like "i am the one who waits" but like!! that's exactly what i loved about jina and jooik from doom at your service in a nutshell!!!!! jina is confronted by hyunkyu, the boy she'd been inlove with all throughout high school, who just abandoned and left without a word and left her hanging for years. she looked for him everywhere and waited for him to show up anywhere she thought of and he never showed up. she loved him all by herself for so long. and then, like fast forward a couple years later, she tells him i loved you. all lone. for so long. and it's this flashback of her waiting at the train station, young and alone and heartbroken. knowing deep inside, he wasn't coming back. and then she runs into cha jooik, who apparently had been waiting for her to show up in the middle of the street in the dead of night for god knows how long ans shes like "whatre you doing here????" and he's like "i don't know, i guess i missed you," and just aldkkglfkjs YOU KNOW

so i was sent a prompt where jina takes jooik to her school reunion and when she sees a girl flirting with him, she gets jealous so she makes an effort to make him jealous in return. 

i’ve been thinking that when he takes her to a secluded spot, she sees his hand fidgeting as he tries to quell his jealousy and she goes and puts his hand around her neck and says, “you’re the only one who gets to touch me like this,” and they engage in some light choking when they make out but idk if thats too too much or not?? should i just go for it?

The cast did mention that writer Im Maeri is great but as I watch the drama I still can't help but be amazed. The script is just— wow. I can't even put it into words how the script is just so beautiful. Everything. Just everything.

And there's this too. I just can't explain how much I am awestruck from this writing. Mostly everything from Myulmang. Like boii— how does everything he says makes so much sense?

You chuckled at the look on Hyuksoo’s face after you had made a comment regarding his role as Cha Jooik in ‘Doom at Your Service.’ During your current rewatch of the romantic kdrama, you hadn’t shied from expressing your clear attraction towards the brusque man with short and blunt manner of speech. Hyuksoo, on the other hand, hadn’t been the most receptive, much less flattered by your presumed attraction towards the fictional character.

“Come on,” you tried cuddling into his side as he busied himself washing some dishes. “I have you in the flesh, why are you so bothered about me, your wife, liking the roles you take on.”

Hyuksoo muttered something under his breath that you couldn’t quite make out as he turned to walk away from the sink. You remained attached to him, shuffling along behind his tall, slim figure, placing little kisses along his clothed back. Your hands pressed against his abdomen, fingers tickling him, attempting to get a little laugh out of him.

“Are you jealous about me liking your roles this much?” you ask softly after his mood didn’t appear to change. “I promise it’s just me being a fangirl fangirling over my husband’s impeccable acting ability.”

Hyuksoo sighed, finally turning around and wrapping his arms around you a pout clear as day on his lips as he placed his chin on your head. “Why don't you fangirl over just me though? It’s always the roles I take on and never just me. I think I’m allowed to be jealous and a bit upset about it.”

His broken tone pulled at your heart strings. Had the actions that you thought were harmless really made him jealous and hurt? You pulled your head away from his chest looking up at him. His dark eyes looked back down at you, sadness and jealousy swimming in them.

“It’s silly I know but-”

“It’s not silly at all. I’m sorry I made you feel that way.”

You pressed your head back against his chest, listening to the steady rhythm of his heart beating. His arms tightened around you, his nose pressing into your hair and taking in a deep breath, his muscles relaxing. Neither of you were sure how long you stood there in the kitchen wrapped up in each other’s arms. And neither care if we’re being honest.

Finally, however, you pulled away a little bit looking back up at him with a playful smile, “You know, you really are like Jooik…in some ways.”

“Here I was thinking it was over.”

“I’m serious! You’re so cold sometimes but deep down you are the biggest sweetheart!”
