i honestly dont hate the ATLA adaptation but im definitely not entirely happy. when comparing it to the original they made a lot of the core ideas, arcs, conflicts, and characters kind of just….flat. and they also changed a lot of central motivations for characters and the things that made them so excellent, and misinterpreted a bunch of them, so yeah. some things were too rushed, and it all took away from a lot of the things that made atla such a meaningful show and a powerful teacher

that being said, it was kinda expected because they had to condense the whole thing into a few episodes, and ATLA is rly not a show for which you can do that easily, so i gotta cut them some slack. nothing will live up to the OG and thats that. BUT there were also some GREAT bits of acting in there PLZ can we talk about it because certain characters were captured really well (FOR THEIR ADAPTED SCENARIOS.) as well as great representation

i would honestly not mind a second season because it really was not all that bad as a show, independent of the original. it was engaging and had just enough humor and anger and sadness to be a well balanced show overall, i dont think its aim was to be a perfect recreation of the original

Need to get this of my chest, but I have been so worried for Treasure these past couple of days. They have been working non-stop for months. The last time they had any vacation time was in May and that was just one short week. That's 7 freaking months ago.

When they first announced the additional performances for their Japan tour, I knew it would be a tough 2 months for the boys, but I didn't know it would be this hard on them.

They did 24 shows, most of them were 2 shows in one afternoon.

Jaehyuk said 6 of them were sick at the soundcheck for the first Saitama concert... right after that they had to perform three 3 hour long concerts in 2 days. That's insane. Like I know they can't just cancel the shows and the boys truly did really well but still... I could tell from the livestream of the 3rd show that Junkyu had to lipsync almost all his lines. And I totally understand!! We know Junkyu has been sick for like a week and tried to take care of his voice but when you have 3 concerts in 2 days, that is just not possible.

To make things worse, they also had to find time to rehearse and attend and perform at 3 award shows during their tour. Traveling from country to country without rest. It killed me to see that they didn't even get time to rest after the Saitama concerts... They immediately flew to Thailand, rehearsed for GDA and after that were seen vlogging around Bangkok, rehearsal again, attend GDA and perform a really intense show, fly back to Korea. All of this in just 2 days-

Jihoon said his 'body was trashed', that his nose wouldn't stop bleeding for 20 minutes. He told us he suffers from insomnia, repeatedly replying to fans on Weverse at 3 am... I don't think I want to know the amount of hours he slept in those 3 days.... He obviously didn't, but if Jihoon had fainted while performing at GDA, I would not have been surprised.

Every time they did a Weverse Live, I wondered why they didn't use those few precious hours to sleep, to relax. Yes, I do want to know about their day, their condition, how their most recent perfomance went etc but most of all I want them to get 8 hours of sleep. I'm forever grateful that Treasure cares so much about Teumes, but I want them to put their own health first for once 🙏

The boys said that during the Japan tour, they have been preparing so much content for us + that they will be working on their new album during their Asia tour and instead of being happy, I'm just worried. Please let them rest 🙏Just for a little while.

Their next schedule (I think) is the 2 concerts at the Kyocera dome in Osaka the 28th and 29th of January, so hopefully they'll be able to get some rest this next week.

I just need them to be healthy 🙏💙💎

— he has to battle his way up through the ranks of YG to get to debut, in another country, away from his parents, while barely a teenager, all while learning a second language, and he not only does it, but according to legend he and Lisa are the only two foreign idols in YG history to graduate the program with all As

— and then his debut gets canceled and he has to go back to China and Yuehua and restart his entire career without much support at all from his agency, and he just does it, he starts the grind all over and just fucking does it

— he isn't even Yuehua's first choice for Day Day Up's new host competition, and they submit him only because he speaks Korean and that's good for the show, but then Wang Han sees him backstage one day and sees how hard he's working on his dance routine and immediately knows that Yibo is their next host, and not only is he an incredible addition to the show, but he stays on DDU longer than he reasonably should given how massively famous he gets, and he's so beloved that when he returns for Hunan's 2022 NYE concert, the network rolls out the red carpet and treats him like he's their hometown son and Wang Han is like, "Our Yibo has come home" (And Luoyang is the girlfriend in the distracted boyfriend meme lol but ykwim)

— he has to submit his comp shots twice just to even get an audition before anyone takes him seriously for The Untamed!! Except then the moment they see him, they immediately know he's their Lan Zhan

— he's the "pretty idol" throwaway captain for SDC3 and you can tell this when you watch the editing for the first episode because the comments for Yibo are all about how hot he is, and he comes in last place after the first captain's dance, and it's clear nobody really takes him seriously, but then the second he opens his street auditions, the tone of the entire show changes and from then on, for the next two seasons, he is completely unstoppable, his talent and intelligence and strategic thinking and competitive drive are so raw and exciting to watch that he basically takes over the entire show, the ratings more than double from s2 to s3, his fandom grows even more massive, and the dancers all fucking LOVE HIM. like dude he wins street dance of china so hard that within three seasons he's basically co-producing it and he's literally given a writing credit.

— The director of Being a Hero doesn't think he's old or mature enough to play Chen Yu and then Yibo sits down and talks to him about why he wants the role and the director realizes that Yibo basically is Chen Yu, he's the focused hard-working persevering single-minded actor of his dreams, and Yibo winds up giving a performance so moving it makes the director cry and declare, "That? That's acting."

— he jumps from no ranking at all to 9th place to #2!!!!!! within TWO YEARS on the Forbes China 100 Most Powerful people list between 2019 and 2021

— Duhua famously didn't take him seriously or treat him well for most of their long contractual relationship, oh shit, because now according to YH's latest investor report for Q3-4 2022, he singlehandedly brings in 90% of the profit for her entire company, a shareholder, the "top talent," and the one who has to pay whenever Uniq gets together because he's "the boss"

Every time you think people will have finally figured out that you do not underestimate Wang Yibo, you learn of some new example where Yibo, once again, has had to prove himself in an industry that perpetually writes him off and doesn't take him seriously at first — only for the people around him to be absolutely blown away by his talent and dedication and mesmerizing star power.

And this happens over and over and over again. And he just does the work, always, every time, without complaint, and every time the result is something surprising and unexpected and fantastic and such a mark of his incredible passion and talent

— and every time I think my heart can't possibly grow any more sizes over Yibo, he proves me wrong

Y/n L/n was a personal trainer. Not exactly a cheap one either.

He works with high end celebrities only, having helped A-list names in Hollywood before until moving to South Korea to work with Kdrama actors.

What was supposed to be a quick trip turned out to take a lot longer. Days turned into weeks, weeks turned into months and months turned into a whole year.

Due to his stacked portfolio finding work was not hard, adapting to Korea, however, was. But he managed.

One day his agent texted him, telling him about a new client that would be paying an insane amount for his work.

His agent had already set up a meeting and so Y/n had to get dressed to meet the clients.

--Y/n POV--

"So tell me again, where we going?"

"YG Entertainment. It's a Kpop company. The basic idea behind this job is that the boss wants his idols to be healthier and to be fit for their next comeback, and your job is to ensure this happens.", my agent told me as we arrived in front of a very large building.

We walked into the reception and I let my agent do the talking.

I scanned the area and was in awe at the amazing design it had. This to me pretty much meant that their gym would be perfect.

"Y/n come on they're waiting for us.", my agent said

The building was huge, even bigger than it had seemed from the outside. We got into the elevator and stayed there for what seemed like hours.

*Ding*

"Come on Y/n, they're inside that door at the end of the floor", my manager told me.

I didn't know why, but the formality paired with the vibe of this place made me feel anxious. My palms started sweating and I suddenly felt underdressed for the occasion even though I was wearing a suit.

"Well, no matter what, it's too late for anything now since we're here"

My manager opened the door and inside the room I saw four of the most gorgeous women I had ever laid eyes upon.

The one who caught my eyes the most, however, was a small one with cat like eyes.

"Y/n you're staring", my manager whispered at me and I suddenly became conscious.

A slight blush made it's way to my face and by the quiet giggles made by the girls it was evident they saw it too.

"Hello Mr L/n. My name is Yang Hyun-Suk. As you may have been told, we at YG Entertainment have ordered you here in order for you to help my idols with their physical health. The plan is to, hopefully, keep you in our company for different idols, however, we will be testing you, so to say, with one group first.", the man who I now knew as the CEO told me.

He made a gesture towards the four women in the room and they stood up. I couldn't believe they would be my clients.

"Hello we are BLACKPINK. Please take care of us!", they said in unison.

After quick introductions I found out that they were not only my age but also that the one with the captivating eyes was called Jennie.

I decided to take it easy for our first session and just do some general fitness tests. According to YG the girls were supposed to increase their stamina and remain fit. A very easy task if you ask me. I finished up the day by giving each girl their individual diet plan, given the difference in height, weight and calorie intake. Their diets focussed on gaining weight for now, seeing as their promotions and the comeback were still a long time away.

--time skip--

3rd Person POV

BLACKPINK and Y/n had gotten to know each other for a while now, the five of them quickly becoming very good friends due to both the amount of time spent together and the small difference in ages. Y/n was almost immediately added to the girls' group chat and was much more of a friend then an employee to them.

"Alright Jen give me one more", Y/n told her as he moved behind her to spot her on squats.

"I can't-"

"Jen look at me you got this. Whatever happens I'm right here and I'll help you but I need you to continue. Push your limits, if you fail thats fine. The only way to go from failure is up, but to get up you need to fail so take a deep breath and give me one fucking more rep!", Y/n interrupted her.

The three other members, already having finished their workout and currently catching their breath on the side of the squat rack smiled at the situation. Y/n was an incredibly sweet person but he sure as hell could be a pain in the ass if he wanted to.

Jennie took her breath in and bent her knees, her upper body following as she squatted, deep, before pushing her feet into the ground and grunting in desperate attempts of moving the weight up one more time. She gritted her teeth as her hair stuck onto her sweaty forehead, her clothes soaked with sweat and water she used to cool herself down, her breaths being sporadic and irregular, trying everything to get as much oxygen inside her as possible. She looked into the mirror in front of her, seeing Y/n's handsome features looking into her eyes showing a look of reassurance, before she shook her head, indicating that she was feeling the last bit of power she had inside her leave her body at alarming speeds.

Her eyes closed, coming to term with the fact that ahe'd probably fall down with the weight on top of her, before suddenly realising she was not going down but instead going up at a speed she had never reached before. She felt a pair of muscular arms wrap under her arms as she opened her eyes and looked into the mirror, seeing that Y/n had jumped in and was now easily pulling her and the weight up.

He helped her rerack the bar before holding up his hand for a high five. He smiled reassuringly at her, proving that he truly meant his pride in failure from before, before reaching down and giving her a bottle of water. He helped her move towards the bench where the rest of her members were seated before taking out his phone and calling their manager, saying that they were done and that the girls needed a ride.

The gym wasn't at the YG building, at least for now. The YG gym was under construction, as Y/n had quite a few criticisms with it due to lack of machines as well as 'questionable' architecture, as he put it. Hence why YG rented out a nearby gym for the time being. It wasn't that big, but it did the job.

The girls continued catching their breaths before Y/n walked up to them.

"Your manager is coming in like 20 minutes. Traffic is horrible right now. You girls should go change, you'll probably need those 20 minutes to get done."

He went up to them and offered a hand, which all of them gladly took, Jennie being the first one to do so, all thought nobody knew whether it was due to the arm it was attached to or the idea of finally going home.

Y/n walked them towards the changing rooms before sitting down on the bench near the entrance and waiting. 15 minutes later he received a message by their manager, telling him that she had arrived, and just as he stood up, as if on cue, the girls appeared.

Y/n bid each of them his goodbye before watching them go out. He, however, noticed that Jennie went to a different car. He saw a figure get out and hug her before bending down and giving her a long kiss. The manager drove off with the other three as the pair continued kissing and catching up. Y/n got a better look at the guy and realised it was Kim Jongin, or Kai, also known as Jennies boyfriend.

They had never met each other, but knew of each other's existence. And as far as Y/n knew, Kai was not exactly a fan of the girls having a male trainer, saying that it was indecent and whatnot, but being immediately shut down by Jen and the others when he talked about it. He had also been told by Rosé and Lisa that Jennie wasn't exactly satisfied with Kai, which was a bit too much information, but quite hilarious either way as it made his insecurity a lot more understandable.

Nevertheless Y/n went on with his day, finally getting into his own workout. He structured it similarly to how he did it with the girls, which basically meant he worked out the same body parts as they did on the same days, which meant he was doing legs now. He started off with squats, before going on with RDLs and then doing some accessory work. His workout went great and he was very much unbothered before his phone suddenly went haywire with notifications.

Y/n put his phone away, having rested enough while also laughing about the absurdity of the situation. He sure as hell wasn't scared of Kai, but then again he was sure idols had good lawyers so he didn't want to risk anything. He also thought about what the girls said before, and realised that his small crush for Jennie never left. How could it, really. She was gorgeous.

A few days had passed since that incident and the group was now once again working legs. There wasn't much that changed in the dynamic of the five, and they regularly laughed about Kai's obsessive and paranoid behaviour, but Y/n did notice something. Jennie had become much more clingy towards him and was a lot closer to him than before.

"Y/n can you help me with this?", Jennie called him out of his thoughts.

"Sure what do you need?", Y/n asked, questioning why she'd need a spot during laying hamstring curls.

"Just, you know how you touch my lats during lat pulldowns so I feel more muscle activation? I want you to do that here too because I don't really feel my hamstrings and glutes working-"

"Jen I don't think it's appropriate for me to touch you like this-"

"Don't be a pussy Y/nn just touch her fucking ass", Lisa screamed from the other side of the gym.

Y/n looked at her before looking back at Jennie, questioning one last time whether she was serious or not. She nodded at him, answering his question, before laying down and starting the exercise.

Y/n sighed before touching her hips with the tips of his fingers, still cautious as to not make her uncomfortable, before realising that she wasn't saying anything against it and putting more pressure on it, just as he would with any other body part.

Jennie finished her sets and thanked him, before following him towards the last few exercises for the session.

Their workout soon came to an end, with Jennie continuously wanting Y/n's undivided attention and touch. As Y/n waited once again for the girls to come out, he noticed three pairs of shoes standing in front of him as he scrolled through his phone. He looked up and was met with Lisa, Rosé and Jisoo.

"Y/nn, we finished already but Jen is taking a while. Manager-unnie will take us but I think Kai is picking up Jennie again. Have a nice day, Y/nn, we'll text you once we're at the dorm."

"Stay safe and don't annoy your manager too much", he said with a smile before waving at them.

Y/n continued mindlessly scrolling through his phone before suddenly hearing his name being called by Jennie.

"Y/nn can you help me with something please?", a phrase he had heard all too often today.

"Sure but are you dressed-"

"Yes, just please come in, I promise it's quick.

Y/n walked in, his hand slowly raising as he prepared to put it in front of his eyes if Jennie were to not be clothed, navigating through the changing room in caution. He arrived and saw Jennie, wrapped up in a bathrobe, smiling at him.

"What do you need, Jen?"

"I can't reach my bag, can you get it for me?"

"Sure"

Y/n walked up and started looking for it in the top shelf, his height easily allowing him to get a good look at it, before grabbing it and turning around.

"Here you go Jen-"

He looked up and saw her, smiling, with her bathrobe on the floor. Her small, perky breasts on display, her visibly wet snatch with a small landing strip looking at him. Y/n tried putting his hands in front of his eyes but Jennie grabbed them, forcing him to look at her.

"Jennie what are you doing, you have a boyfriend-"
