the era where everybody was naming their kids after greek goddesses, congrats you continue to give prometheus a mini heart attack whenever you call for your kid.
How do the muns think of they way characters are portrayed in Frontiers? Specifically the main gang (Sonic, Tails, Amy, Knuckles)? Are there things you decided to HC instead of the canon in the game of these characters?
Headcanon Ask
Hooo, boy. That's a doozy of a thing to start one. Okay, let me start with Sonic. Sonic's portrayal in Frontiers is pretty top notch, in my opinion. Take this from someone who enjoyed games like Sonic Adventure 1 & 2, Sonic Heroes, Sonic 06 (sorta. His personality was fairly on point then. For the most part. Sue me-), Sonic Unleashed, and Sonic: Black Knight. These were all games that properly portrayed Sonic's willingness to put others first, to prioritize his friends and the world over himself. While the portrayal will never, ever top what Black Knight gave us, it is definitely up there.
Moving onto Knuckles, while his portrayal isn't perfect by any means. But it is pretty good. It falls in line pretty well with what we were given in Adventure 1 and Black Knight, with Knuckles being very honor driven, and dedicated to his history. It also did a great job reminding us that Knuckles was most certainly getting lonely and bored on his island, as him running around Ares Island helps to remind us that he enjoys treasure hunting and exploring as much as ever. So, when he says that he wants to see the world, and go his own way, it actually makes a lot of sense.
I shall begin with Amy, as she is the first of the two players come across. I really enjoy her portrayal, personally. She acts akin to a worried relative to the little Koco's around the islands. Even when she is aware of what they really are, she still finds it in her to be worried about them, wanting the best for them. It also shows the fact that she has, indeed, grown since the last time we got to see her this one-on-one.
Her want to go on her own and be her own person, instead of that clingy girl who used to be overly attached to Sonic is a long overdue moment in their relationship. Hopefully, this continues on and we get to keep seeing Amy bettering herself.
As for Tails, well, his doubts about himself have been coming for a long time. At least, in my opinion. He's a genius kid who is looked to for saving the world multiple times over. He has messed up little things and it cost big prices, of course he has this kind of anxiety!
He also has long overdue needs to go out on his own and become his own person. Out of the characters, I feel like he should've been the one most hesitant to leave Sonic's side, but, like-
C'mon now, Sonic was obviously happy for him, for all of them. I see no issue in their desires to become their own people.
