The Weapons are losers and that's awesome

After Chapters 139-44 of Chainsaw Man I think it's safe to say that I love that none of the Hybrids have their lives together or are cool. It's so realistic for immortality rather than vampire maturity or whatever.

Denji and Miri being just teenage boys, though Miri needs respecting women lessons, is perfect especially how they're captured persona wise. Reze's portrayal as a child soldier was also authentic since CSMs world is absolutely built of exploiting the vulnerable or leashed. I hope we see her more soon.

The older Hybrids are also their own brands of either immaturity, apathy, or psychopathy, which makes sense since they're fully grown adults and their brains and conscious behaviours are fully developed. Katana and Whip being over-the-top and unreasonably, and self-righteous/a supremacist respectively, Barem being just Makina but a psychopathic Clergy man, and Spear and Quanxi being mirrors of the apathetic nihilism (Quanxi being hedonistic and loving her Fiends, meanwhile I suspect that Spear probably prefers the freedom of loneliness and how it doesn't tie him down) causes are great overall representations of the bad what if persons getting the strongest power imaginable.

I love the reference to cooking in the last chapter, especially in a chapter that's all about suffering.

Why? Because it reminds me of the Falling Devil, who in order to mentally "fall" her opponents to the heights, exploited their traumas. Her whole arc is a formidable metaphor for the reaction we must have to our own suffering.

So when the spear weapon tells Denji to scare them, Denji asks him if he wants to be cooked and thus traumatized. If Denji has to scare, he'll do it just as meticulously.

Back when the weapons being alive still was first mentioned in part 2. I wanted to redraw the initial panels of them declaring their love for Makima (it's out of order I know). However, I wanted to put a spin on it to where they're professing their admiration of Denji. Initially, I assumed it would be a twisted sense of admiration and I guess I was kinda right.

The Hybrids are all standing at the cash register of a supermarket. Barem is on fire, Miri is covered in soot, and Spear is holding up the bisected torso of Barem in one hand.

Spear Man: And what do we say instead of trying to burn someone alive?

Barem: May I please get....you burnt alive?

Spear: NO. You cannot solve every problem by setting it on fire.

Whip: U Lit rly can.

Miri: Denji wouldn't approve of cannibalism

Barem: I say God would forgive me- *gets speared through the throat*

Spear: I am going to kill everyone here.
