Denji got shot using the Gun Devil's hand in the form of Makima's "bang" that killed Power. At this point, Denji's just reliving the trauma again and again and again.

i don't see anyone talk about aki's depression (from losing his family & partners, the obsession with revenge etc) so do you have any thoughts about it? and how he kind of heals towards the end of the series with the help of denji and power? i think it should be focused more because he's very emotionally exhausted & depressed for the majority of the series, for good reasons, but everyone kind of seems to dismiss at as "haha edgy black haired deuteragonist"

I think about this so much. aki must have struggled so terribly after losing his family, I believe he's suffered from depression pretty much his entire life. he feels so guilty, directly thinks he's responsible for his brother's death. he doesn't care what happens to him as long as he can kill the gun devil. when he says in the manga that he can't look at himself objectively because he wouldn't be able to go on if he did, I think he's also saying that he can't stop pushing himself, he has to keep fighting because he'll be empty otherwise.

also I just have a lot of personal headcanons about aki when it comes to this.... he's frequently seen staying up late and waking up early so I think he doesn't get much sleep, it's hard for him to fall asleep and perhaps he doesn't want to because of bad dreams.

he doesn't take interest in many hobbies, sometimes he reads or watches movies but it's just to pass the time, none of it has ever been all that compelling to him. he isn't really interested in romantic things either, doesn't care much for dating or sex, even if he had the time for it. he's a big fan of routines, sticking to them strongly because if he doesn't, it's easy for him to slip. he always wakes up at the exact same time every day so he won't have an excuse to stay in bed. he makes dinner every night at seven and prepares what he's going to make days in advance so he'll never forget to eat.

and his relationship to denji and power... the first important step for him is when he quits smoking, since it was something he clinged to for a long time. eventually all he cares about is keeping denji and power safe and happy... they gave him so much purpose in his life... uuggghh I need to explode like immediately

power coming to love two humans despite originally believing they all deserve to die and aki coming to love two devils despite originally hating them and thinking it was impossible for him to care about one and denji who toes the line between the two coming to love aki and power like siblings despite his history of being abused by men and seeking validation through sexual/romantic relationships with women. and denji turning down a vacation to take care of power and aki trying to keep them from having to fight the gun devil and them going with aki to visit his family’s grave and lightening the mood for him and trying to cook him dinner and power asking denji to find her even though she won’t know him and to love her until she’s her again anyway i hate this manga for making me sob hysterically multiple times.

why are people so mad about the pacing of csm? why does this shonen have to meet your standards in comparison to other shonens you watch/read? csm already barely meets the typical shonen criteria, which is a reason why the story is so compelling. in what reality would a situation like this actually have slow pacing? yes, this is fiction, but in my opinion, what makes it so believable in terms of the csm universe, is the fast pacing. as a reader/watcher, you are not witnessing Makima's plan from the very beginning. you are getting a glimpse of the very end of it. of course this is going to go fast. Makima is really only allowing the time she needs for her plan to work out, like giving Denji, Power, and Aki what minimum time they need to grow fond of each other… what extremely little time Denji needs to get a taste of his definition of luxury. she doesn’t need 200 chapters to manipulate highly vulnerable characters because, well, they are highly vulnerable. Fujimoto's pacing with a tragic story like this makes the reader realize how much lack of control these characters truly have. it so effortlessly makes you feel like you have no control as well.

the first time aki did it with you, it took him about five minutes to figure out how to even put it in. also he came in two minutes. and profusely apologized afterwards

if aki forgets to close the door and lock it before the two of you get started, sometimes meowy comes in and jumps on the bed just to stare at the two of you awkwardly. denji and power don't understand how to knock either, so they'll barge in looking for something and then promptly kill the mood

people are feeling bad for denji but i feel like asa is the one who was assaulted. we have yet to see how denji will react from this. i dont think hes going to feel like he was taken advantage of, at least not immediately. i have a stronger feeling asa will be the one traumatized.

oh mannnnnn im also interested in seeing asas reaction, esp since she was trying to be so understanding to him in prev chapters. personally wouldnt say she was assaulted, but her agency in this was definitely violated oh my goddd

also her being traumatized over this would be interesting considering shes very selfish but rarely ever acts on it yk like did yoru do that Because of influence from that part of asa. food for thought but ultimately the dubcon nature of it all is like. man. he isnt sure of what he wants and the chance for him to figure it out himself gets stripped from him Every Single Time can someone give my boy a fucking break to think
