What if I told you I had a world where dwarves can be beardless and live on the coast in fishing communities, elves can be from space and descendended from distant beings the gods didn't create and imply something absolutely horrifying, and half elf protaganists can be descended from ice elves, not high elves.

What if I told you I had a world where I said fuck it, and your continous usage of known tropes meant nothing to me. I want to make a world where elves have wings and live in airborne islands. A world where there's demon-folk AND dragon-folk, and rhey both are humanoids with horns and tails and they BOTH struggle because of that but they also look different from eachother and I love them both so much.

The fight had rendered it weak mentally. Made it tired.

The sound of being underwater filled it's ears. Just like how it remembered the last time this happened. It's owner had failed. And it was left in a body of water to rejuvenate.

Well unlike last time, it's not gonna wait around to be used. It clawed it's way out of the water and landed onto the grassy land with a plop.

It's body wasn't at all stable and seemed to melt as time went on. But it couldn't rest. Not here. It made it's way to safety.

It was absolutely furious when it's caretaker wasn't home.

It was there again.

Every night for a week this figure had been putting out the lanturn posts one by one by jumping on them. It has become apparent that it's dressed like a jester If anything and has a tail about their body height according to eye witnesses.

Peach was currently holding a stake out disguised as a sleepover with Daisy and Rosalia when they spotted it.

Peach: there, that's the guy

Daisy: so all they've been doing is taking out the lanturns?

Peach nodded

Peach: it's weird but the only reason I haven't told Mario just yet is because that's ALL it is.

Rosalia: hmmm I'd like to know what's going through that guy's head.

As if it heard them, the figure stopped on top of a lanturn in front of the castle, the lanturn still lit. It's just standing there.

Rosalia: what the....you know what? I'm going.

Rosalia got up and walked over despite the other's protests. She looked up to the clown

Rosalia: um hello?

The clown opened her eyes, revealing deep red crimson. Rosalia almost took a step back as the figure seemed to look at her.

Rosalia: ummm. Wh-what are you doing here? *the figure looked up to the sky. She tried to follow it's gaze but couldn't* I-I dont-

The figure's tail whipped around crazily and knocked out all the light. Rosalia squeaked and shielded herself. When she peaked again she saw it! A figure in the sky wrapped in a spiral, seeming to look at her

Rosalia: Th-THE SKY DRAGON?! B-but HOW?!

The clown reached out and knocked on something. A Barrier. Someone had sealed the dragon there. The poor scientist couldn't understand what she was seeing. Who was this guy and how did they know this?

Rosalia: wh-who are you?

The figure fully turned to look at her

She almost screamed.

The figure only had half of their face, their body was gelatinous and unstable, it looked as if this thing was at death's door and still trying to fight against knocking.

Rosalia: o-oh god......a-are you ok?!

The sound that answered her still sends shivers up her spine

??: I'm.....fine.

It was a culmination of multiple voices, only one of witch she recognized.

Luigi's.

Why was his voice in there too? Oh elder star what IS that thing?!

Rosalia: wh-what-

Before she could ask anymore questions the figure dissapeared. She looked around. The only thing she could still see was the star dragon, staring at her with wide eyes. It looked like a caged puppy.

It was daytime when it was seen again.

Of course a creature of their calibre made sure only those that it wanted to be seen by, saw them.

Which at the moment it was willing to have everyone see it.

Only half of it's face was as human as it used to be. The other was a mask that covered up a not completely healed area of their face. Their outfit was a Jester's outfit of course, perfectly suited for their still wiggly form. Leaving them able to move about and not cause TOO much of a panic.

They were humming along happily as they bounced down the dirt road from the pond to the Koopa and the Mushroom kingdom, eyes closed of course. For they don't need them open at the moment. When they're "older" they'll have to choose between echolocation or learn how to see all over again.

Yeah that's gonna be fun.

Ignoring that depressing thought they happily bounded over into view of the two kingdoms.

As they drew near they spotted familiar figures ahead. A large figure, two shorter figures, and a figure that's obviously the princess that helped them earlier. And......what.....what is that? They cant find it with their echo location. But they can definitely sense it. They frowned, which was a change from the usual perma smile.

She covered her human eye and the pryed open her unfinished eye.

Both eyes shot open.

Oh shit

It's Dimentio

She takes out a smoke bomb and sets it off before fleeing.

Maybe another day.
