So.. are we finally gonna get Sanzus backstory and see why he wasn’t prominent for the entirety of the important situations in Mikey’s life so far…?

Are we also gonna finally understand why he hates Takemichi so much? Because it makes no fucking sense. Why does he think Mikey living a life of violence and crime is better when he could be living a moderately peaceful life if y’all got him help????? Basically medicating his shit with more violence and more darkness literally lead him to wanting to die in one future and him attempting to kill himself in the other one.

It’s actually ridiculous to believe he won’t be able to live if he wasn’t entrenched in darkness when we saw that he wasn’t too far gone after his brother, Baji, and Emma died. Even when he left two years before this current timeline, he still wasn’t unhinged like he was in the BO3D fight or this final fight. Even now we see that he’s still able to have conversations and be lucid. He’s aware of shit and he even stated to Takemichi that everything he’s done - pushing everyone away and trying to get Takemichi to stop trying to save him - was to protect them because he believed he couldn’t be helped. We see right there that he still holds care for his loved ones. If he didn’t have that, he wouldn’t gone through all this trouble. He still has ..good.. intentions. So why tf does Sanzu think living like this is better…

He’s not that lost to point that he can’t be helped BUT I think Waka made it so he’ll think that by telling him what Shinichiro did to save him. It’s like Waka wanted to make him drown in guilt, NOW it can stated he’s at a point of no return because he’s actively trying to be at that point.

Finally, finally we get a happy chapter, a breathe of fresh air. I love how we get Mikey’s apology so he’s not that much of a dick, Mikey probs avoided Sanzu out of fear and embarrassment and shame in what he had done also the fact that he doesn’t like being weak and Sanzu will def be his weakness.

We also get to see the effect of dark impulse, I personally agree with the thought of first timeline Mikey being the reason for dark impulses, just like how there’s a gap in Takemichi’s memory from the period he traveled in the future the same probably happens to the present. But Shinichiro fixed his problem in one time jump unlike our hero (though he only had one problem and he didn’t have to figure out how to fix it) and Yk he’s happy!

We’ve been shitting on Sanzu for so long, but ig he’s getting his redemption also, he’s just always there and supporting Mikey, poor him. Plus he’s Shinichiro’s trigger probably because he saw him die and they both really care for Mikey.

Tokyo Revengers Chapter 272: Thoughts

I don't really have any major thoughts about this chapter honestly (other than the fact that we finally know who the trigger is, who would have thought, right? haha definitely not me and a lot of other people...), thinking about some stuff got me wondering:

1- Shinichiro was always considered as someone who was physically weak but as someone reliable and strong in the heart. Somehow it got me thinking whether or not the "original" timeline was the cause of why Shinichiro was considered to be physically weak (because this dude suffered goddamn much in the original line, biggest example: trying to become manjiro's caretaker while finding ways to also find a way for manjiro to get better). I thought about this because of Mikey saying "You usually would have avoided that". I reaally don't know why his words got me thinking so hard, I thought that Mikey kind of implied that his brother was capable of "some" action.

But after thinking about it a bit more, I don't think this is the case at all, and Shinichiro was probably always physically weak, even in the original timeline. Shinichiro probably had a way with words and a charm that helped him on his way to creating Black Dragons.

2- Dark Impulses, born out of love. Shinichiro did develop these impulses out of his desperation and love to save his brother, which seem to be affecting Mikey in this "new" timeline. The timetraveler (Shinichiro), a person who was desperate to save someone, caused the safed person (Mikey) to be also affected by these impulses (do take this explanation with a grain of salt, this is how I'm understanding it, dark impulses haven't really been explained in the manga much yet).

So what I am wondering is: how come when Takemichi time leaped, Hinata didn't go bat shit crazy on people?

I have an assumpsions on as to why:

At first I thought the fact that Shinichiro literally killed someone to timeleap caused such effect. Shin had those kind of impulses during his original time, maybe the combination of his desperation and love, the dark impulses (that were born out of that love for Mikey) and the fact that Shin would actually go as far as to kill someone to safe Mikey caused Mikey to be affected by those impulses as well.

The main difference between Shinichiro and Takemichi is that at first, Takemichi wasn't desperate to safe Hinata at all, because Takemichi didn't know that he could time leap and do that. Of course he was shocked and probably sad to hear that his ex-girlfriend has died, but he hadn't seen her for a long time, and he also didn't know anything about time leaping. He didn't have a dark impulse that could he could pass on to Hinata when he time leaped, so Hinata doesn't go batshit crazy (unlike Mikey). Or is it because of the fact that Takemichi didn't actually kill someone to get these powers in the first place?

The above pharagraph was actually going to be the last one of this little analysis or whatever you want to call it, but writing this got me thinking of something entirely else: Takemichi didn't know he could time leap, got thrown into a train by someone (it was Akkun). Akkun was scared of Kisaki to the point that he would try to kill his friend for it. Hanma has been Kisaki's "second man" during the entire series, so it's probably right to assume that Hanma would have been his second man in the future as well. Honestly at this point I'm just wondering if Hanma somehow wanted Takemichi to be thrown into the train rail.

(yes I'm still on my bullshit believe that all of this is connected to hanma)

(It's 03:30 am and I desperately need to sleep but instead I wrote this. As always, these are just merely my thoughts about what-ifs, so do take everything I have written here with a grain of salt)
