I think it's important to remember that the biggest asset the shows have is Charlie Cox
He loves Matt Murdock. Loves the comics, loves the character, loves playing him.
He has studied everything about him, and we should all trust that he's going to do absolutely everything he can to portray him in a way that he feels is authentic and real and an accurate representation of the character. I trust him with Matt Murdock.
Maybe the writing is bad in these shows. Maybe the special effects are lame. Maybe the plot isn't great.
But Charlie is going to act the everloving shit out of Matt Murdock, no matter what
Films watched (2000s): Glorious 39 (Momentum, 2009); written & dir. Stephen Poliakoff. Starring Romola Garai, Bill Nighy, Eddie Redmayne, Julie Christie, Charlie Cox, Jeremy Northam, David Tennant & Christopher Lee.
Has anyone ever made a gifset of Charlie's heartrending cryface throughout his filmography??
...Because the man has a gift that deserves to be appreciated.
Case in point:
There are very, very few actors/actresses capable of making me genuinely tear up like this man right here.☝️☝️☝️
It's a true gift, born straight from the natural sensitivity of his soul. The ability to break and heal your heart again and again in the best way possible. 🥺💔❤️
(And he's just getting more and more accomplished at it with age!! 🙏)
