I got to experience my dream of getting to see the Chateau de Pierrefonds a few days ago and I’m still in disbelief. Despite there being some construction I got to see most of the sets from Merlin and it was just gorgeous

I’m not posting any with my face in them but wow I can’t believe this place is real

I love miniatures and also Merlin and I was stress online shopping whilst in the middle of life things and found this miniature model of the Chateau de Pierrefonds where they shot Merlin and I couldn't resist buying it.

It's almost like I have an official Merlin Camelot castle statue except it's probably much better quality than that show merch would have been if they had made one of these babies. It's also very nice and pretty and I like looking at the little stairs in the middle bit because those are in the show all the time.

And I just love knick knack things to put on a shelf and look at because I have a goblin heart for hoarding little silly objects. My knick knack shelves are my happy place.

Château de Pierrefonds

The Château de Pierrefonds is situated in the scenic city of Pierrefonds. It was built in the late fourteenth century by Duke Louis d'Orléans. The original château was in ruins for over two centuries, but today's castle was built in the 19th century when Emperor Napoleon III decided to reconstruct it and use it as his imperial residence. The château features eight towers decorated with sculptures of eight dignified knights and kings, all heroes of the ancient and Middle Ages. The courtyard is composed of various architectural styles, mostly medieval and Renaissance. The château has frequently been used as a location for filming and television series such as Wizards of Waverly Palace. The castle is without a doubt one of the most beautiful castles in the vicinity of Paris.

She tells me: this is one of the gargoyles of the Pierrefonds Castle (It may ring a bell for some people if I add it was the filming location for BBC Merlin… So, if the little guy reminds you of something, that might be why…)
