does anyone know where i can find a destiel fic? The title was Amnesia and it explored discrimination against angels and things like that and castiel is like very against dating humans because of what they did to angels. but then cas meets dean im college and they fall in love but this part its set w them already as adults and cas gets attacked by humans and loses his memory. dean has to basically help him fall back in love w him or hope cas gets his memories back. pls pls i LOVED this fic but i cant find it and its the only destiel fic i would LOVE to reread please help!!!

no but i genuinely really worry considering a huge amount of the audience is vulnerable young people and a huge amount are struggling through mental illness. suicide being portrayed poorly can have devastating consequences on those audiences. kids might be coming away from this thinking that c!tommy needed to atone for his “crimes” through death, and that everyone was better off because he died. and what if they see themselves in him? what if they internalise that into themselves? that's obviously not what the ccs intended, but I’m worried it could cause some genuine, material harm. i fucking hope it doesn't. but it has in the past in other media so i worry and it hurts my heart.

Yeah, it's genuinely very worrying! It's why it's so important that heavy topics aren't treated so carelessly by writers, particularly ones with such large audiences.

Part of why I am so interested in discussing why I believe the finale was so poorly written is to help people understand where the issues are. We deserve to have good satisfying stories, not weak disappointing ones.

I've heard people say that seeing the exile arc originally helped them to realise they were in an abusive relationship and it hurts me to think people would now see the character they emphasised with forced to consider their abuser's feelings and how they supposedly provoked them.

And it hurts to see people finding hope in seeing the character they loved move on and get better only to die in a bitter conclusion. I hope they can see that its not the characters anymore at all. It's instead the bad writing destroying what was there. I cannot really connect the end I watched to the character I was so fond of. I hope others similarly disconnect.

My friend you are so lovely for caring but please try not to worry yourself with stuff outside your control. All we can do is condemn the ending and how carelessly they explored these heavy themes, how harmful it is to not think through the implications and to raise awareness of the issues. ❤️
