He's still in the marketplace too, talking to one of the people from grandma's work about the artifact she's displaying. I'm not supposed to be here, so I don't creep closer to watch. The thing I really want to see is his tail. When we were traveling from our research house to our city house, I heard some big brothers whispering about our archon being conspicuous. That big word means he's doing a extra bad job of hiding, more than usual. He's already pretty bad at playing dead and being a human. He’s so bad at it that there’s even a rule for the citizens to uphold, though the Millelith won’t arrest you if you break it. Children first learning to speak are taught to not point out Rex Lapis when they see him. They can write a book about it or tell stories, but saying it right in front of him might make him sad or, even worse, disappear. He tries very, very, very hard to not have everyone's attention on him when he's in disguise. I think whatever he tells grandma's work-friend helps her because she bows more than usual when she thanks him. I think he's a bit embarrassed from how he gestures back, but he forgets to make his face change colors again. I hope she doesn't get loud. That breaks the rule a little bit. Too much attention is a no-no unless he tries to obtain it himself (and he doesn’t). I cannot hear what they say over the crowd, but I do recognize the way the syllable for “food” forms on Mr. Zhongli’s lips. Genshin Most of the seller people at the marketplace know my family name, so I don't attract too much attention if I try not to look like I'm following Mr. Zhongli. I did bring my allowance to buy flowers for the aunties in my city house. Sneaking out is not good when you're grounded for a week, but bringing back gifts for relatives makes the loud family members think my mama did the crime instead of me. They use a certain phrase to talk about my repentance. I think the word is earnesty. I’m not sure what it means, but it makes me get forgiven for my mischief faster. Following Rex Lapis around the harbor is my third favoritest hobby and second biggest secret. My first favoritest thing to do is listening to stories, and my second favoritest and biggest secret is not being a young lady. I’m very good at following Mr. Zhongli now that I’ve had so much practice. When I was very little, only four years old, I tried to follow him and would get lost because his legs are so long, even longer than most of the Millelith. My uncles used to be cross with me because it made it seem like they weren’t watching me during business, so I told Mama I was very good at sneaking away and it wasn’t my uncles’ faults. I got grounded from following Mr. Zhongli, well, grounded from sneaking away. I still don’t listen. Baba is fine with me wandering as long as I can see a Millelith at all times. He says he knows little boys like to wander and explore. I don’t know how he figured that out though; I never told anyone the secret I’m keeping better than Mr. Zhongli.

Taiwan Triumphs Over South Korea in WBSC Premier12 Opener with Stellar Homeruns

Taiwan Wins Premier12 Opener Against South Korea with Two Homeruns In a thrilling start to the 2024 WBSC Premier12 tournament, Taiwan's national baseball team secured a 6-3 victory over South Korea at the Taipei Dome on Wednesday. Two key homeruns, including a grand slam by outfielder Chen Chen-wei (陳晨威), propelled Chinese Taipei to an early and commanding lead, giving them an impressive opening win in the Group B match. Chen Chen-wei’s Grand Slam Powers Taiwan’s Early Lead The game, which marked the opening of the WBSC Premier12 tournament, saw Taiwan jump to a 6-0 lead by the end of the second inning. The explosive offense was spearheaded by Chen Chen-wei's grand slam and a two-run homer from center fielder Chen Chieh-hsien (陳傑憲). - Chen Chen-wei’s Grand Slam: With the bases loaded, Chen's powerful swing sent the ball over the outfield fence, sending all runners home and electrifying the nearly sold-out crowd at the Taipei Dome. - Chen Chieh-hsien's Two-Run Shot: In the same inning, Chen Chieh-hsien added to the offensive onslaught with a two-run homer, putting Taiwan firmly in control early in the game. Despite not adding any more runs after the second inning, Taiwan’s early offensive outburst was more than enough to secure the victory. Lin Yu-min Shines on the Mound for Taiwan On the mound, Taiwan’s ace starter Lin Yu-min (林昱珉), a rising star with the Arizona Diamondbacks organization, played a pivotal role in the win. Lin, who reached AAA status in 2024, pitched a dominant game, allowing just three hits in his outing. Taiwan's bullpen, consisting of five relievers, also kept South Korea's hitters in check throughout the game. - Kim Do-yeong's RBI double and Park Dong-won's RBI single in the fourth inning temporarily reduced Taiwan's lead to 6-2. - Na Seung-yeup hit a solo homer in the seventh inning, narrowing the gap to 6-3. However, the score would remain unchanged as Taiwan's defense and pitching staff held strong. Manager Tseng Hao-ju’s Praise for the Team's Confidence At the post-game press conference, Team Taiwan manager Tseng Hao-ju (曾豪駒) commended his players for their confidence and composure during the game, despite being underdogs against the highly favored South Korean team. South Korea, the reigning Premier12 silver medalists (2019) and gold medalists (2015), has long been a dominant force in international baseball. - Tseng noted that Taiwan’s victory was a complete team effort, acknowledging the support of the near-capacity crowd of 40,000 spectators who cheered their team to victory at the Taipei Dome. Taiwan’s Strong Start in Group B The victory over South Korea sets the stage for Taiwan’s next game against the Dominican Republic on Thursday at the Taipei Dome. Taiwan’s impressive win also puts them in a strong position as they compete in the Group B stage of the 2024 WBSC Premier12 championship. In other action on Wednesday, defending champions Japan defeated Australia 9-3 in Nagoya, and the Dominican Republic triumphed over Cuba with a 6-1 victory at Tianmu Stadium in Taipei. Premier12 Tournament Format and Road to the Super Round The 2024 WBSC Premier12 is the third edition of the tournament, featuring the 12 highest-ranked national teams in the world. The competition follows a round-robin format with the top two teams from Group A and Group B advancing to the Super Round in Japan. The teams that finish first and second in the Super Round will compete for the gold medal, while the third and fourth-place teams will play for the bronze. - Group A consists of: Mexico, the Netherlands, Panama, Puerto Rico, the United States, and Venezuela. - Group B consists of: Taiwan (Chinese Taipei), South Korea, Japan, the Dominican Republic, Australia, and Cuba. Chen Endfield is a great what-if, the question being "what if Chen Hui-Chieh didn't have a miserable childhood, upbringing and early adulthood, and instead got to enjoy life?"
Chen is so silly in endfield

Six Sentences Sunday
Shockingly, I managed to get some time to write this weekend, so have some sentences from the next chapter of the rock star au.
*
They all settle back down on what turns out to be a pale blue blanket, Fang Duobing pulling out his lunch, the girls going back to theirs. They manage a little bit of small talk about classes, enough that Kira starts to unfreeze and Fang Duobing allows himself to feel hopeful.
“So,” Chenchen says, cocking her head, “what’s the emergency? Why do you need to up your nonexistent game?”
He mimes throwing a napkin at her. “Mean!”
She just grins. “The truth hurts, Bing-ge."
#mysterious lotus casebook#fang duobing#rock star au#dance the silence down#my fic#writing is a bullshit hobby#fdb is bad at dating#and just wants some friendly help#but unfortunately friend drama is coming#anyway this stupid chapter is 5k words already#and shows no signs of stopping#sigh
