Hearing other people describe themselves as children (daughters, sons) of their deities, I keep thinking of my relationship to Hestia, asking “am I her daughter?”
But it doesn’t feel right. The closest familial tether I can imagine between us is that I could be her “niece,” maybe, but not her child. And then I thought of the word “foundling.” I like that one best. It implies that I did not begin in her care, but that I came to it, and I like that.
I’m her kid in the sense that I showed up at her door and said “hey, that soup smells great, can I have some?” and she saw the lonely look in my eyes and said “sure thing.”

The music is loud as Mari follows the direction that Roq leads her, the Charhound more than happy to do his duty while her Force Sight is shut down. It was rare for a member of the Temple Guard to go out alone without another, but this was a special case.
“This is where Orin said it was?” she asked, patting the Charhound as he barked. “Hm… 79s?” she mused, “It’ll be a bit odd to meet Cheshie face to face without a mask on, wont it?“
Roq just barked happily as the two stepped into 79s.

❄️ - Erika.
(”❄️ – our muses get snowed in and the electricity goes out“)
Cheshy blinked, looking up at the ceiling with a frown. It wasn’t often that the Wonderland trio were actually at the school for a break but Ezra hadn’t been in any condition to move, having had an episode during class. The Mad Hatter was sleeping in his bed at that moment but still, Cheshy and Alexei had chosen to stay to keep an eye on their friend.
And their reward was a snow storm; the Cheshire Kitten’s tail swished as he walked around, checking in on Alexei as the Dormouse tried to get a fire going to keep them all warm and then walked over to Erika. “You at least should be able to get home right? Why are you still here, Erika?”

😘 Would my muse have sex on the first date?
🏩 What was my muse’s first time like?
🔥 Would my muse ever be up for a threesome?
👮 Has my muse ever had sex in public?
👓 Would my muse ever lie for sex?
👿 Would my muse ever blackmail someone into sex?
🎀 Who would my muse sleep with if nobody ever had to know?
💍 Has my muse ever had a one-night stand?
(I have six muses on this blog XD This will take some time:
😘 Would my muse have sex on the first date?
Only Merrick and Bigby would, as Merrick is the most comfortable in his sexuality (which is pansexual XD) and Bigby is angry and has nothing better to do on the Isle; Dillon is demisexual meaning he needs a strong emotional connection before sex even enters his mind, RJ is asexual and while he DOES have sex, he is not sexual by nature. Tsuki tends to be difficult about relationships and sex is something that she may indulge in, she is unlikely to do it on the first date since she’d only date someone she’d be interested in romantically. As for Getsu he might but it wouldn’t be a good idea because he’d likely do it only because the other person wanted to; he’d be easy to take advantage of.
🏩 What was my muse’s first time like?
Merrick’s was something awkward, just kids who were exploring their bodies and ended up getting into things. He still sees the other boy sometimes when he goes back to Wonderland.
RJ’s was also with another boy and someone he’d been with for a while; the boy was shy about it and so was RJ but it turned out to be a sweet sort of event for both of them.
Dillon hasn’t had sex yet; his personality makes his chances of going out and finding people and as stated, sex is something he just doesn’t do without a connection.
Bigby’s was animalistic, because he’s a wolf. But it was with Lily, his mate, and it was as full of love as it was full of lust.
Tsuki also hasn’t had sex yet, her natural shyness and self confidence problems making it hard to even talk to people.
Getsu similarly hasn’t had sex but mostly because Tsuki and their brother Cheshy are very careful to watch him, knowing how willing he can be to please and that that is dangerous.
🔥 Would my muse ever be up for a threesome?
Short answer?
No: Bigby
Yes: Merrick, RJ, Tsuki, Getsu, Dillon
Longer answer? Merrick and Getsu are very centered on their partners: Merrick is more assertive so he gauges situations better and knows how to say no, Getsu is more good natured and less likely to stop a partner who may be doing something dangerous. RJ is similar but his sexuality makes a threesome unlikely, just not impossible. Tsuki and Dillon meanwhile would be hesitant but if they trust their partner enough, or partners actually, both are unlikely to say no to a threesome. Note: the mun is highly open to polyamorous relationships.
👮 Has my muse ever had sex in public?
Merrick more than likely has, as has Bigby and RJ. A family trait perhaps? XD
👓 Would my muse ever lie for sex? and 👿 Would my muse ever blackmail someone into sex?
Flat answer for all muses: NO. None of my muses no matter their sexuality treat sex as something one should be coerced into in any way and would likely be majorly hurt, even angry, to be lied to or blackmailed for something like sex.
🎀 Who would my muse sleep with if nobody ever had to know?
None of my muses would really care what anyone thinks when it comes to their partners, though they are all likely to bite if you insult the people they love.
💍 Has my muse ever had a one-night stand?
Merrick has, quite a few. RJ has had a few himself though nowhere near as many as his twin has. Of course the virgins haven’t but Bigby has quite a number himself on the Isle.

Exploring The Elements (Via Comparison)
This post is about how I came up with my version of the Four Elements. My variations are not exactly unique, but there are some key departures from traditional depictions that I think make my system stand out. If it’s not obvious, this is entirely my UPG.
Context: While the elements are the backbone of my witchcraft practice and are absolutely part of my spells, I view each element as more than just a tool or an energy, but as a category. For me, each element has its own lessons, its own mysteries, its own aspects and its own path for a practitioner to walk down. That being said, I think they're absolutely categories you can play with. I took the elements and made them more sacred than sorcerous; you may want to make them more secular than spiritual. That's totally your call!
Tumblr media
For starters, I mentioned in this post that I prefer to work with the elements as they appear in my life. When I began my practice, I meditated on each element and followed the threads that it reminded me of.
To take Wind as an example, I thought of letters, weather vanes and feathers. From that I could extrapolate correspondences of communication, ideas, omens, change, exchange, favors, levity and freedom.
That's a LOT from three objects.
From there, I applied the correspondences to my life- where did I see omens, experience exchange and communication, feel free? Pretty quickly, Wind's domain became the internet, as well as academic study, games, and travel.
Once I had done this- and mind you, I didn't sit down and write out every element one by one, it was a more organic process- I wanted to find the intricacies of the system. Some of the elements seemed to overlap- Earth and Water, for instance. I wanted to know what separated them, made each its own path.
That's where comparative groupings showed up. Dividing my four elements into two sets of two as many ways as I could was a pretty useful way to figure out what they were and what they weren't. These categories are fairly arbitrary, but they help me understand the connections between the elements and solidify their meanings. You can see how this is done with the traditional four Elements, with "passive" and "active," "feminine" and "masculine," and all of that. There are three axis that I measure them through; Hearth vs. Flux, Aspirational vs. Foundational, and Energetic vs. Organic.
Tumblr media
The Hearth elements (Fire and Earth) are physical. Their domain is the solid and mundane. They’re called “Hearth” because their properties are more familiar to us, being steady and predictable. The Flux elements, by comparison (Water and Wind) are shifting and metaphysical. They have influence over things that only exist in our minds- our thoughts, ideas, magic. They also fluctuate, hence the name.
Tumblr media
The Aspirational elements (Wind and Earth) have goals that are either endless- they can never be truly achieved- or which I gravitate towards in good times. When I’m doing well, I focus on these things, which encourage growth, progress and self-expression. They concern the external world, beyond an individual person. The Foundational elements (Water and Fire) meanwhile, are more about maintenance and healing. In bad times, I come to these elements for renewal and comfort. They focus on the internal, the self, the- well, foundational. These are paths that set habits and routines.
Tumblr media
The Energetic elements (Wind and Fire) are more energy than spirit. They tend to be simpler, more linear, more man-made and more morally neutral. They’re more sorcery than spirituality, if that makes sense. Organic elements (Earth and Water), by contrast, are more spirit than energy. They’re complex. They like cycles and feelings and spiritual development. They like dealing with people rather than products. (I have a whole UPG around energy and spirit- long story short, I see spirit as condensed energy and energy as unfocused spirit- but that's another story.)
Tumblr media
So, reading through that, you can probably already glean a lot of my elemental associations. That's how it's supposed to work- through these three comparative lenses, you can triangulate my correspondences in a really satisfying way.
For instance, you now know that Water is a Flux element- changing, metaphysical, mind-focused- a Foundational element- self-focused, healing and internal- and Organic- specializing in spirituality, cycles and feelings. The sentence writes itself- Water is about a person’s relationship to themselves and their internal feelings, the cycles of healing and development, and spiritual wisdom.
Additionally, that tells you how I might use Water in a spell! Personally, I almost never use only one element- it's much more potent to blend them. In my practice, Water will be present in both a cleansing and an emotional healing spell- but in the former, I'd combine it with Wind (the Flux Elements like movement and shifting things around), while in the latter I would add more Fire (because the Foundational Elements are eternal sources of renewal and self-love).
This has been a long post, so if you made it all the way through, thanks! I may make more posts outlining my specific, in-depth profiles for each of the elements, for my own record as much as anything else. Keep in mind these will be entirely based on my UPG and highly personal to my craft.
PLEASE, please please please add your own UPG around the elements to this post- or tag me in your own- I would really love to see what other people make of these four!

Am I the only one who does whatever I want with the elements?
I mean, in my experience, the four classical elements are more like categories of energy than concrete laws of the universe. They’re pretty arbitrary. You can invent new ones or reinvent Aristotle’s.
They’re pretty much infinite in their meanings. So. If you, like me, don’t enjoy working with Fire as this passionate, creative force of power and destruction, you don’t, um- have to? You don’t have to.

Currently imagining a cleaning-product style commercial for different herbs and their magical uses.
“Cedar won’t just sweep away those pesky Bad Vibes, it both cleanses AND protects, to keep your home feeling blessed for longer!!”
and then there’s an animation of someone with a ponytail sweeping little dismayed ghosts around with cedar twigs

Hestia,
Sacred keeper of the hearth
Open-armed one,
Who chooses all and chooses none.
The glow that guides us all to rest,
The flame that only asks we do our best;
To love, to care, to make our beds
To keep our faith and rest our heads
If you guide us in the world of bread and fabric,
If you demand respect be afforded to those of all natures here in the flesh,
Expand your hearth to our refuges online,
Allow banner images and oven-stones to mingle.
Here’s to Hestia, lovely as belonging-
Thank you for your blessings, and ever onwards may we find you in ourselves.

small things that add up to faith in my practice:
- I consecrated a shoebox to be a shrine to Hestia. When I reach inside, even without thinking about it, it feels a little warm.
- I made little stuffed servitors, but I also made non-servitor stuffies. My dogs are extremely interested in the servitors (no they shouldn’t smell any different) but not the test stuffies
- Often on full and new moons, or any time after spending over two hours in sacred space, I start seeing things/feeling things/hearing things on the edges of my senses. I’ll also get really hungry/thirsty/tired.
- Even when it should be out, Summer’s candle still technically burns at an extremely low level
- Sometimes music and tarot cards just line up in ways that make you close your eyes and shake your head
- Rubbing moonwater on my palms causes me to feel energy pretty reliably. doing that with normal water has a similar, but noticeably smaller effect. (I’d like to test this blind but I’d have to get someone to help)
