Basically, Arti didn’t have pups for a while. She left her colony at a young age to adventure, and eventually joined the scavenger colony on top of 5p. There she met the Chieftain, and they fell in love. She ended up ruling beside him,

Their first kid was The Quandary. A scug-scav hybrid.

Then, they adopted two others - The Harmonic, a little scug who loved to sing and dance. They were a failed purposed organism; made with the idea of having wings, but the webbing never developed, leaving them with weird protrusions out of their paws. This leaves them with poor balance and mobility; and yet? They dance anyway. And The Messenger, an orphaned scav from far away. They’re inseparable with the Harmonic - the two have been wandering for a long time, keeping together. Strength in numbers, after all. They’ve been titled the messenger because they’ve traveled far, much like the messenger scugs before them - plus, maybe they just like telling people things.

Saint: A tale whispered between scavenger tribes. I do not expect you to know it.

Hunter: Do you know it?

Saint: Of course.

Saint: A long time ago, a scavenger known as the Chieftain ruled over Metropolis, the city of scavengers. Under its leadership, their kind used Metropolis' resources to grow powerful.

I like the idea that the Chieftain would give Artificer armor and pearls of her own, a sign of respect, showing them on similar standing and of course offering safety.

rain world hug headcanons ig???

ok I can't find it anymore but I saw a post about which slug was best for hugging (saint or gourmand) and it made me want to make this. so uhm enjoy i guess

This isn't meant for any selfship reasons or whatever, but if you wanna see it that way for FP and NSH then. I understand (I LOVE NSH)

Pebbles: Will whine about it, starts sobbing and refuses to let go (doesn't want anyone seeing him bawl + emotionally repressed)

Spearmaster: Hasn't hugged anyone but Seven Red Suns, will do nothing but appreciates it, sharp. (Spearmaster has had a stressful and sheltered life. overall likes affection but wouldn't know how to deal with it so you know)

Enot: Slimy but soft, warm?? clingy, might bite you (Enot is a little weirdo. I think they would be a good scug to cuddle with if you don't mind the whole gooey thing)

Arti: Actually awesome, her fur is bristly though, feels safe :) (Artificer would actually give great hugs, would feel comforting and protective (???). MOM HUGS)

NSH: Great in theory but would be so goofy about it, unless whoever they're hugging is really upset. Clothes giver btw (It takes a lot to get Siggy to take anything seriously and they would just be silly about it. Clothes giver thing speaks for itself)

Scav King: I don't know how you ended up here- Would be hesitant. Then scav group hug, that or the whole tribe stares at you with potentially violent intent (honestly didn't know who else to put here and I thought it would be funny if scavs had like. some sort of like, "huddling for warmth" instinct (??), hence, hug one scav, and end up in a sleep pile)

A bit rare of me to share my Rain World art, but I figured I'd share some of my characters some more, this time some art of the Mercenary (aka the pirate slugcat), and a ref of the Consort!

Rain World Repurposed - SCAVENGERS

Kidnapped from their tribes, these poor Scavengers were "improved" and repurposed to serve under Chasing Wind's reign. Meet Skyvengers.

Their job is to patrol the facility grounds for problems, create outposts for security, and help maintain the can's overall system and structural integrity.

These minions were packed with a lot of abilities that would make them the most significant and smartest threat to any that opposes Chasing Wind:

They were packed with monochromatic armor that protected their chest, shoulder, arms, and thighs. They also bear masks resembling Chasing Wind's face plate alongside his harpoons, which they can shoot from.

They were fused with a vulture genome that allowed them to fly and patrol the sky for trouble, making them a present threat almost everywhere on the facility's ground surface.

They were equipped with a grenade launcher capable of shooting out grenades, electric flashbangs, and even singularity bombs. They were able to shoot at a 360-degree angle making them even more lethal than Elite and Chieftain Scavengers.

They were able to communicate with one another, making them strategize better. This allowed them to defeat stronger and bigger enemies.

Chasing Wind made sure these soldiers have little to no weakness whatsoever unlike many other purpose or repurposed organisms. However, they are not undefeatable.

If you remove a Skyvenger's mask, they would try to retrieve the mask and wear it again. But if they failed, other Skyvengers would kill them just like vultures did.

The Scavenger tribes hated and often waged war against the Skyvenger's outposts in the facility ground. They would attack and damage infrastructures before fleeing away from the reinforcements. They would often work together with other Scavenger tribes when attacking the outposts.

In the end, the Skyvengers were Chasing Wind's main forces. They were able to pummel down rebel Scavenger tribes and even kidnap their own to be repurposed into another Skyvenger. They also hunt down wildlife for the same exact reason.
