happy holidays guys!!! The holiday break here is a LOT longer than a lot of other places because it’s summer rn, so I’ve already been spending the last week kinda just chilling (the air con has been a life-saver, we’re in a heat wave right now) and watching YouTube and various BLs, and on Christmas Day my siblings and I are heading to my grandparents’ house to hang out with our cousins which will be fun! Our cousins live at the top of the country, so we don’t get to see them very often :)

(fun fact: I joined the bl fandom about this time last year! I first watched bad buddy in June, but I didn’t join the fandom spaces until msp, which was an entire year ago and that’s crazy to think about but I’m so glad I’m here, I like you guys ^D^)

i changed my url and i guess i'm gonna post about it. i was previously earthtokit, but now i'm chilikit. my reasoning behind this is i was at a grocery store and there was a box that said "chili kit" on it. and i was inspired to make this my new url.

Comedians: 7/10, not all of them are funny but I found Josh Johnson and Ryan Kelly and Ashley Gavin because of Instagram, and my life has been infinitely better.

Christianity/Deconstruction: 2/10, I do not go to Instagram for my theology and this is why. I hate discourse and everyone is wrong and mean.

Kpop: 5/10, anytime anyone has an opinion I want to hurl myself into the sun but if they just have clips of idols it's great.

TikTok musicians: 10/10 I love finding new music and random artists l'd never listen to otherwise!!

Feminism/current events/LGBT: 5/10, I like hearing what other people think but it's sometimes hard to translate the concepts into words that people in my life who aren't regularly watching that kind of content can understand.

Also sometimes people are mean.

10. Something that made you cry this year?

besides all the traumatic conversations I had with family? OH MY GOSH I WAS READING THIS WEBTOON and I'd read it before but it'd been a while so I knew what happened but wanted a refresher anyway and long story short HIS CAT DIED AND I KNEW IT WAS GOING TO DIE BUT IT WAS STILL SO SAD I SOBBED THE ENTIRE TIME

I so rarely cry reading things or listening to things or watching things but that stabbed me right through the feels

11. Something you want to do again next year?

During the summer-y times I spent a lot of time at my sister's apartment. She's going to Chile next year so obviously this isn't going to be an option next year but there was just a lot of adventure vibes and we were going places and doing things and I want those vibes in the new year. I want to redouble my adventure efforts and having a bit of a more exciting life.

I also joined the Miraculous Big Bang this year and it's been a great, though often stressful, experience and if it happens again next year, I'm definitely going to join. Though I'm preplanning my fic and will probably work on it in advance and aim to make it shorter just so I don't end up with this end of year panic that I'm supposed to having right now to finish but panic and I don't get along so I'm chilling despite the looming deadline lol

I also want to make mochi and brownies and watch Heartstopper with you again because that was so much fun and play more cheater's yahtzee

9. Best month for you this year?

You think I have the memory for this??

Best month... best month...

I don't know! There'd been a lot of good mixed in with a whole lot of bad. Overall, my confidence has skyrocketed through the year, I've learned to love myself for the first time, I'm getting ready to be a functional human living on my own, I came out to my entire immediate family (with varying levels of acceptance), um- it's been a good year. It's also been incredibly painful. There's been a lot of grief. I lost some pets this year, I lost some relatives, so- that wasn't great. But in terms of self growth and healing, it's been like the best year of my life.

I don't want to just pick one month because any month I can think of I can think of all the bad stuff that was happening. But when I think of the year as a whole, it's a net positive.

So- best month, the whole thing?

23. If you could send a message to yourself back on the first day of the year, what would it be?

You weren't kidding, this is a deep one.

Hmm... I don't remember where I was on the first day of this year, but I think I'd tell myself it gets a lot better, faster than I think it will. I'd tell myself to be a little more talkative and a little less worried. I'd say that... a lot of my family life has been rougher than I thought it was and it's not getting easier. There's a lot of painful conversations ahead and there's a lot of uncertainty and fear. People I really love have hurt me really deeply this year. And I'd like to say that it's okay. That it's okay to feel hurt by them and it doesn't matter if their intentions are good, their actions are still painful. I'd tell myself that I don't need to be forgiving of everyone, that it's okay to take my time, that I know more about myself than anyone else does. No one else gets to make my choices for me, so why look for their approval?

I'd say that it's going to be a hard year. There's going to be a lot that you're going to lose. You're going to cry a lot. You're also going to laugh a lot. You're going to make a lot of new friends, who love you unconditionally and that when you're feeling insecure, it's okay to ask them for reassurance. You're going to enter a new era of your life and the future is going to look so bright. Go chase the stars.

And get the dogs anyway. They haven't been easy and it doesn't always end happily but they're yours and they were meant to come here anyway. And Timber's cute face is worth it.

No means no. Say no when you want to. You don't need a reason.

Write more. Worry less.

Answering this one last because it'll be the longest one

25. Did you create any characters (in games, art, or writing) this year? Describe one

I DID! I always create characters, every year! Without fail!

This year had far fewer new OCs because I've spent so much time absorbed in fanfiction, which I don't regret lol

I've also spent a surprising amount of time revisiting old OCs rather than creating new ones.

I made one at the very beginning of the year named Mistfeather. She's a tiny owl harpy wizard lady with a giant brown bear mount. She's mischievous and a thief. I wanted to draw an owl wizard so it started as an owl with a hat, then this more humanoid thing and then it turned into her! And I'm not sure where her name came from.

She has a friend, Emmeline, who is a waitress at an inn. Who I drew and I remember being soooo proud of how that drawing turned out. I still am actually.

This was my attempt at more medieval traditional fantasy type world because I make a lot of those but they always mutate into something unrecogniseable, lol.
