La la la la la la la la la.. Romantic Sunday.. 🍃🍃

This OST is probably the most iconic in this K-drama and everytime I listen to it, I remember all the scenes in this show.

I was so excited when I heard Kim Seon-ho (which I watched from Start-Up) and Shin Min-ah (which is one of my favorites!!) will pair up in a new K-drama. It’s been a while since I watched Oh My Venus and when I saw Min-ah in HomeCha, OMG!! Nothing has changed!! Those iconic dimples from My Girlfriend is a Gumiho!!! 🥰🥰🥰 Idk I was just soooo happy to watch her again.

I love this show not only because of Shin Min-ah but also of the story itself. The dynamics of the whole characters, their stories.. everything. It’s really the “healing” drama we all need.

In my opinion, here are some of the highlights of this K-drama:

1. Gongjin

Ahhhhh this town.. ❤️ It reminds me of my province and how simple life is. Sometimes, especially in how fast-paced our lives are, what we need is a breather. And this place is a perfect example for it. The sea, the nature surrounding it, the people, the food, everything is just perfect. How I wish there really is “Gongjin” that we could all visit and just.. breathe.

2. The Gongjin Squad

OMG!! I don’t really know how to describe all of them or each of them but so far, they are the best characters I’ve ever watched. They’re so fun to watch and everyone has a story to tell. There’s a lot to say about each of the characters but I’ll just leave it like this. Just watch it! ☺️

3. SikHye couple ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Okay okay!!!!! This couple is really relationship goals! I just love how compatible their characters are to each other. Their love story is not the typical “you and me against the world” or “I can’t be with you but I love you”. Their relationship isn’t the toxic type. I really cried on the part where Hye-jin said that she’s willing to wait until Du-sik is ready to open up about his past, his feelings and his thoughts then at the right time, he did and that’s the beauty of their relationship.

4. “Everyone has there own struggles in life. Always be kind.”

This is one of the lessons, the most important actually, that I’ve learned from this K-drama. Each of the characters has something going on in their lives, just like us. Sometimes we thought these things are just “little things” and that we will get over it but the truth is, these little things might turn into bigger ones if we just keep it to ourselves. Sometimes it’s good to have someone who’s willing to listen. Even just to lend an ear. It’s not easy, I know, but if we just let someone in, it’s a big relief.

There’s a lot to say about this K-drama but I’ll just end it with this quote from Hometown Cha Cha Cha’s last scene. Please please!! Watch it!! 🥰🥰🥰

Hometown Cha Cha Cha gets a 10/10 on showing real adults with real adult problems in relationships (romantic and platonic). I was happy with Hong Du Shik and Yoon Hye Jin’s relationship, but all the others too? 

These writers were WRITING. 

There are so many small moments between the characters that make this town really alive. I almost cried when when we found out why Yeo Hwa Jung divorced Jang Young Guk. Pyo Mi Seon falling for the bumbling and awkward Choi Eun Cheol and him being completely oblivious was just hilarious. I was ready to fight Choi Geum Cheol when he acted like he was super inconvenienced for taking care of his pregnant wife. All the characters are complete and add to the story rather than just fill space. I’m invested in them as much as I am in the leads. 

In episode 13, Yoon Hye Jin needs to realize that she and Hong Du Shik may be in a relationship, they they are different people and he has every right to keep parts of himself to himself. I feel like so often people act like when you’re with someone, that person has to become a part of you and you should share everything. Everyone has a right to privacy and their own space no matter what the relationship is. Yoon Hye Jin might be a person who wants to share everything, but she can’t control whether anyone else does. Hong Du Shik hasn’t done anything to lose her trust, he’s only kept some details of his life to himself. How is that a problem? He doesn’t want to talk about it, so her options are to make her peace with that or leave. 

Lastly, I’m dying to know who bought the winning lottery ticket and what they did with the money. If we don’t find out, I’ll riot.

Note: Remake dari film Korea dengan judul Mr. Hong yang sempat diperankan oleh mendiang Kim Ju Hyeok dengan karakter cerita yang cukup mirip (ya namanya juga remake). Mendiang Kim Ju Hyeok ini sempat menjadi cast di 2 days 1 night bareng Cha Tae Hyun dan memutuskan untuk mundur.

Sinopsis: Drama ini mengisahkan dokter gigi Yoon Hye Jin yang ingin bersikap adil di tempat ia bekerja. Ia ingin memberikan pelayanan sebagai dokter gigi dengan memberi pilihan pada pasien (pasien bisa memilih perawatan apa yang sesuai). Namun atasannya, mengambil pasien yang dirawat oleh Hye Jin dan ya, Hye Jin murka dan keluar dari tempat kerjanya. Karena mabuk, Hye Jin menuliskan di SNS (Social Network Service) tentang perilaku atasannya yang membuatnya ditolak oleh banyak klinik gigi di Seoul. Keesokan harinya, dia sadar bahwa hari itu adalah ulang tahun ibunya. Dia bepergian ke pantai dimana memiliki kenangan indah bersama sang ibu dan ayah. Namun disana, Sepatunya hilang (udah macem cinderella) dan cuma ketemu 1 aja. Yang nemuin ya Hong Du Sik yang kebetulan habis surfing disana.

Seharian penuh drama mulai dari sepatu hilang, atm mati, mobil mati, akhirnya Hye Jin mencari uang karena berhutang pada salah satu restoran disana. Setelah semua beres, ada part dia dapat pengalaman berharga di desa itu. Selain itu, informasi dari pemilik resto, disana ngga ada dokter gigi. Kalau saja Yoon Hye Jin mau membuka klinik disini, pasti orang-orang senang karena mereka tidak perlu susah payah ke kota. Dan ya, Hye Jin membuka klinik disana.

Hal mencengangkan dari Hong Du Sik. Ia seperti bekerja sebagai apapun disana (banyak komentar yang bilang dia pengangguran, kalo aku pribadi ngerasa dia kerja serabutan aja). Dia serba bisa. Pekerjaan apapun dia kerjakan. Sehari jadi barista, sehari lagi jadi postman, sehari lagi jadi kurir resto china, dll. Hong Du Sik sudah dianggap sebagai Kepala di desa itu (walaupun punya kepala desa). Tapi beberapa orang disana sangat mengandalkan kehadiran Hong Du Sik.

Seperti yang diduga, ada bumbu romance nya, seperti di poster, nanti ada part Hye Jin nyari Du Sik terus-terusan. Du Sik juga waktu di info Hye Jin kesulitan langsung datang. Karena ini slice of life juga, jadi ngga ada orang jahat di drama, semuanya baik, saling tolong menolong, dan kehidupan pedesaan yang ngga individualis. Seneng aja gitu tontonnya.

Aku pribadi sih agak bosan di awal sama jalan ceritanya. Tapi ya betah saja tonton karena Shin Min Ah yang suuuper cakep terus ada Kim Seon Ho yang suuuuuper ganteng. Tapi makin kesini, ceritanya makin seru. Makin sayang sama orang-orang desanya. Banyak banget pelajaran sederhana di tiap episodenya. Ada yang pernah komen kalau mirip-mirip sama kehidupan reply. Yaaa... i think so, tapi jujur saja lebih seru reply. Ini komedinya lucu juga, tapi mungkin karena baru tonton sampai episode 6, aku rasa enjoy saja untuk ditunggu setiap 2 minggu karena release stress dan ngga bikin kepala panas. Dimanjakan sama view yang bagus di desa, dan tentu saja cast yang ngga usah di ragukan lagi kemampuannya.

GUYS! ABIS TONTON 10 EPISODE yaampuuuun makin melting sama Seon Ho. Aku memang bukan tipikal yang gampang suka sama cowok baru di drama/film/idol. Tapi ya begini, udah melting daaah gabisa lepas lagi aku :')))) padahal sudah rutin tonton 2days1night walaupun aku mantengin ravi yang kelakuannya ajaib. Ternyataaaaa Seon Ho yaampun dah gamampu lagi aku ngomong, sweet banget!

Movies Jang Hee Bin (1961) and Femme Fatale, Jang Hee Bin (1968)

Lee Seo Gu was approached to write the 1961 movie because of the success of his radio drama Jang Hee Bin in the same year.

At 21 years old at the time of filming, Kim Ji Mi is tied with Lee Mi Suk as the youngest actor to portray Jang Hee Bin.

Jang Hee Bin (MBC, 1971)

There was a ‘lead actor famine’ for this drama, and so a 300,000-won prize (worth 5,984,227 won today) was offered at first for the lead role, before a vote was called.

Yun Yeo Jeong was voted to become Jang Hee Bin amidst candidates Yun Jeong Hee and Kim Ji Mi, who previously portrayed Jang Hee Bin in 1961.

Though MBC’s 1971 adaptation was wildly popular, lead actress Yun Yeo Jeong received major backlash for her role. She was even removed from CFs for Yunina Shampoo and Oransshi Soda because ‘her image as Jang Hee Bin was not good for the product’.

While filming the 1971 adaptation, MBC reported many threatening calls to end the network, pressure from the audience to bring Queen Inhyeon back to life, and an incident on set where an actor playing the role of Jang Hee Bin’s court lady was given a bowl of hot water instead of room temperature in an attempt to sabotage filming.

Eventually, the drama was rewritten so that Queen Inhyeon was reinstated sooner than expected.

Actress Kim Min Jeong (Queen Inhyeon) was cast for the role in the 1971 adaptation on a stairwell by writer Lee Seo Gu.

This adaptation is the first to portray a dramatic poison scene, a plot point that would become the climax of many more adaptations to come, with various embellishments.

No known footage of this adaptation remains. MBC only began archiving drama broadcasts from the mid-’70s.

At 154 daily episodes, this remains the longest adaptation of Jang Hee Bin by episode count.

A special was aired on January 31st, 1972 - two days after broadcast had concluded.

Women of Legend: Jang Hee Bin (MBC, 1981)

The first season of Women of Legend (MBC, 1981~1982) was actually going to be another adaption of the Hanjungrok, but the production was scrapped and Jang Hee Bin became the first season instead. Series writer Im Chung would later on write two adaptations of the Hanjungrok (Oh, Heaven! for KBS in 1988, and the King’s Pathway for MBC in 1998).

This adaptation became MBC’s highest rated drama during its broadcast.

The late Kim Mu Saeng played the role of Jo Sa Seok both in this version and Jang Hee Bin (SBS, 1995).

During broadcast, Lee Mi Suk, Lee Hye Suk (Queen Inhyeon) and Lee Miji (Queen Ingyeong) were referred to as the Three Beautiful Musketeers (미녀 삼총사).

Director Yu Gil Chon’s brother Yu In Chon was selected to play the role of Sukjong. Yu In Chon is currently South Korea’s Minister of Culture.

In 1986, Lee Mi Suk admitted that mixed reactions were given to her portrayal. She elaborated that older people hated her character, while younger women related to and empathized with the character.

This adaptation broadcasted on Mondays and Tuesdays at first, but was moved to Wednesdays and Thursdays from Episode 37.

Lee Mi Suk’s portrayal of Jang Hee Bin was popular with men at the time, as the way she acted in front of Sukjong was considered to be cute.

This adaptation and SBS’ 1995 remake are loosely based on the Records of Queen Inhyeon, a compilation of memoirs by Lady Lee, one of Queen Inhyeon’s court ladies.

500 Years of Joseon: Queen Inhyeon (MBC, 1988)

Actor Kim Seok Ok played the role of Queen Inhyeon’s stepmother both in 500 Years of Joseon: Queen Inhyeon (MBC, 1988) and Jang Hee Bin (KBS, 2002)

Kim Myeong Hee played the role of Ok Jeong’s shaman here as well as in KBS’ adaptation, for which she is more famous.

Jeon In Hwa and Lee Deok Hwa took up the roles of Jang Ok Jeong and Jang Hee Jae respectively. They would become brother and sister once more in SBS’ 2001 drama Ladies in the Palace.

Jeon In Hwa’s portrayal of Jang Hee Bin was not initially popular until her reentry into the Palace in Episode 27, as her graceful and elegant aura was seen as too in contrast to the conniving characters of MBC’s previous portrayals.

This adaptation is heavily based on the Joseon Annals, as opposed to the Records of Queen Inhyeon.

The poison scene in this adaptation was famous for Sukjong ordering that one of the doors be used to restrain Ok Jeong as she was fed the poison. This portrayal would be repeated in KBS’ 2002 adaptation.

Jang Hee Bin (SBS, 1995)

SBS’ 1995 adaptation uses the same script as MBC’s 1981 adaptation, written by Im Chung.

Im Chung’s son Im Ho took the role of Sukjong. Im Ho is world famous for his role as Jungjong in Dae Jang Geum (MBC, 2003).

Eom Yu Shin played the role of Prince Sungseon’s wife both in the 1995 and 2002 adaptations of Jang Hee Bin. She also played the role of Jang Hee Bin’s mother in MBC’s 1988 adaptation.

The 1995 adaptation was supposed to be broadcast after SBS’ 1994 drama Auld Lang Syne, but was delayed because of trouble finding a lead actor. Sandglass was broadcasted instead.

Jeong Seon Gyeong was only casted after refusals from Lee Young Ae, Kang Su Yeon and Shin Eun Jeong. Lee Young Ae would soon after become the lead actor of KBS’ West Palace.

This adaptation achieved ratings of up to 43%, but began to suffer during the broadcasts of KBS’ West Palace and Jang Nok Su.

Child actor Lee Jeong Hu played Queen Inhyeon in her first three years after entering the Palace. Kim Won Hee replaced her when Queen Inhyeon turned 18. Lee Jeong Hu died of cancer on December 10, 2016, at the age of 30.

The poison scene in Episode 63 is considered to be the closest in historical dramas to an accurate portrayal of what actually happens when someone drinks Joseon’s government arsenic poison.

The scene is also reputed for Jeong Seon Gyeong’s sudden retaliation in kicking the bowl of poison from a court lady’s hands.

Jang Hee Bin (KBS, 2002)

The lead role was first offered to Lee Young Ae, Song Yun Ah, Kang Su Yeon, Chae Shi Ra and Kim Hyeon Ju before Kim Hye Su took up the role.

Even so, audience reactions were not initially positive to her being chosen, saying that she was too glamorous for the role. Public opinion began to change once Ok Jeong gained the rank of Suk Won in Episode 24.

With 16 previous years of acting experience, Kim Hye Su is the most experienced actor to take the role of Jang Hee Bin.

Kim Hye Su’s casting also broke the tradition of casting young rookies for the role of Jang Hee Bin.

The ratings once dropped to as low as 6%, but its final episode garnered a 31.1% rating.

The show’s original writer Kim Seon Young is not only the first woman to write a televised adaptation of Jang Hee Bin, but also the first woman to write an authentic historical drama (정통사극). The format has been dominated by male writers since its import to Korea in 1981 through KBS’ The Grand Order.

A rivalry was brewing between production manager Kim Sang Hun and Outdoor Filming Director Han Cheol Gyeong, which escalated into an assault incident.

The show’s latter half was written by Kang Tae Wan, rumored to be 1st-generation TV writer Shin Bong Seung under a pseudonym. Shin wrote the 500 Years of Joseon adaptation in 1988.

Kim Eul Dong, portraying Court Lady Kwon (Hee Bin’s court lady) is the mother of Song Il Guk, who portrayed Western Faction activist Kim Chun Taek.

The role of Choi Suk Bin was offered to Kim Gyu Ri, Choi Yu Jeong and Hong Eun Hee before being given to Park Ye Jin from April 9th, 2003. The first three potential candidates happened to be filming for movies when the role was offered.

At 100 hour-long episodes, this remains the longest adaptation by runtime.

Dong Yi (MBC, 2010)

Some of the State Tribunal’s clothes were previously worn in Queen Seondeok (MBC, 2009).

Jang Hee Bin’s character was written much differently than in previous dramas. Her character was meant to be more mature, driven to her decisions out of support for her family and faction. However, while the show itself was successful, Lee So Yeon’s portrayal was often referred to as ‘uninteresting’.

Extra Choi Na Gyeong (not to be confused with flautist Jasmine Choi) gained much popularity after the broadcast of Episode 36 on July 28th, 2010, featuring as a Court Inspector during the Head Inspector's arrest. Referred to as the Tibetan Court Lady (티벳 궁녀) due to her perceived resemblance to the Tibetan fox, she would later on feature in a daily drama and a sitcom. Choi Na Gyeong also became the model for a character in mobile game Master Asia, and is an avid arcade game player herself. Her cameo in Dong Yi can be seen below.

Because of how differently Jang Hee Bin was written in comparison to previous adaptations, this adaptation is the first since 1968 to portray Jang Hee Bin as willingly drinking the poison that would lead to her death.

Jang Ok Jeong, Living in Love (SBS, 2013)

Despite Jang Ok Jeong’s portrayal in the drama as a fashion designer, viewers were displeased at the use of high heels and fashion mannequins, both anachronic to Joseon.

At 33 years old at the time of broadcast, Kim Tae Hee is the oldest actor to play the role of Jang Hee Bin.

The show is unfortunately considered a failure for SBS, with an average rating of only 11.3%. This puts the show behind its contemporaries Queen of Office (KBS, 13.2%) and Gu Family Book (MBC, 18.7%).

At 24 episodes, this is the shortest adaptation of Jang Hee Bin.

A historical accuracy dispute arose over the portrayal of Queen Inhyeon’s father Min Yu Jung. This led to the show being derided as a ‘fantasy drama’ by political drama fans.

Fenomena adaptasi film-film Korea di Indonesia

“Saya dan Riri Riza suka film-film Korea (Selatan), dan kami tahu CJ Entertainment punya beberapa line-up cerita yang sangat bagus,” ujar produser Mira Lesmana memberikan mukadimah kepada awak media di Dhonika Eatery, Jl. Pangeran Antasari, Jakarta Selatan (12/3/2019).

Mira dari Miles Films sedang mengisahkan latar belakang terjalinnya kerja sama mengadaptasi Sunny, sebuah film drama komedi asal Korea Selatan yang aslinya rilis 4 Mei 2011.

CJ Entertaiment adalah rumah produksi --juga distributor dan ekshibitor-- asal Korsel yang memegang hak publikasi film tersebut.

Disutradarai Kang Hyeong-cheol, kini 45 tahun, film Sunny mengisahkan tujuh siswi yang tergabung dalam satu geng di sekolah menengah atas khusus perempuan.

Geng yang kemudian mereka beri nama Sunny --dari judul lagu kelompok Boney M-- beranggotakan Chun-hwa, Jang-mi, Jin-hee, Geum-ok, Bok-hee, Su-ji, dan Na-mi sang murid baru.

Plot film tidak berjalan linear, tapi maju mundur. Ada masa lalu ketika para anggotanya masih sekolah pada dekade 80-an dan era di mana semua anggota geng menjalani kehidupan terkini

Sepanjang dua jam durasi film, Hyeong-cheol menyoroti arti penting persahabatan, posisi keluarga, dan bagaimana remaja berada dalam pusaran gejolak kondisi sosial politik yang terjadi di Korsel.

Kebersamaan geng Sunny terhenti ketika sebuah tragedi menimpa. Imbasnya mereka menjalani kehidupan masing-masing.

Setelah terpisah lebih dari dua dekade, sebuah kenyataan pahit akhirnya mengumpulkan satu per satu anggota geng Sunny.

Film ini meraih sukses. Secara komersial meraup pemasukan lebih dari KRW54 juta (setara AS$47 juta). Menjadikannya film terlaris kedua di Korsel, setelah War of the Arrows, sepanjang 2011.

Dari sirkuit festival film, Sunny memenangi beberapa penghargaan dalam ajang KOFRA Film Awards, Grand Bell Awards, dan Buil Film Awards.

Indonesia bukan negara pertama yang mengadaptasi Sunny. Vietnam dan Jepang sudah lebih dahulu meluncurkan versi mereka. Dua versi yang sarat nuansa lokal masing-masing negara tersebut juga beroleh predikat film laris.

Menurut Yeonu Choi, Chief Producer/Managing Director CJ Entertainment, adaptasi Sunny ke depan akan hadir pula dalam versi Thailand, Tiongkok, dan Amerika Serikat.

Pihak CJ Entertainment menekankan bahwa proyek adaptasi ini lebih pas jika dikatakan sebagai buat baru alih-alih buat ulang.

Alasannya karena masing-masing film berada di bawah kendali sutradara berbeda. Jajaran pemainnya juga beda. Khusus di Indonesia, versi baru Sunny disutradarai Riri Riza.

“Jadi akan sangat lain dari versi yang sudah ada sebelumnya. Terus terang saya sendiri juga penasaran akan seperti apa Bebas nantinya,” kata Yeonu.

Sebelum Sunny, CJ Entertainment sudah menjalin kerja sama dengan StarvisionPlus dan MD Pictures dalam mengadaptasi dua film Korea produksi mereka.

Starvision menggarap drama komedi Sweet 20 (adaptasi Miss Granny) yang mendapatkan lebih dari satu juta penonton saat rilis 2017.

MD Pictures memilih menggarap kembali Whispering Corridors yang bergenre horor menjadi Sunyi. Rilis dijadwalkan 11 April 2019.

Terpilihnya Miles sebagai mitra ketiga CJ dalam mengadaptasi film asal negeri gingseng telah melalui proses diskusi selama dua tahun.

Pun demikian, seperti dituturkan Riri, proses kerja sama mereka justru tidak seribet yang terbayangkan sebelumnya.

“Cukup simpel. Mulai dari proses pemilihan hak cerita, itu cepat selesai. Cuma memang ada hal-hal yang baru bagi kami, semisal kontraknya yang berbahasa Inggris,” jelas Riri.

Pihak CJ juga memberikan kebebasan kepada Mira dan Riri yang dibantu Gina S. Noer dalam menulis skenario agar terasa lebih sesuai dengan kultur Indonesia.

Sejumlah perubahan yang terjadi dalam Bebas, antara lain bagian latar cerita masa lalu yang bukan mengambil dekade 80-an melainkan 90-an.

Tokoh-tokoh kunci juga tidak digambarkan berasal dari sekolah khusus perempuan, tapi sekolah campur.

Faktor tersebut membuat komposisi anggota geng dalam film ini berubah, ada lima cewek dan satu cowok.

Alasan perubahan komposisi menurut Mira karena Jakarta pada era 90-an masih sangat terbatas sekolah khusus perempuan. “Kita lebih terbiasa sekolah di sekolah campur, entah itu negeri atau swasta,” jelasnya.

Kebebasan menyesuaikan cerita dengan kultur Indonesia juga terjadi saat MD mengadaptasi Whispering Corridors.

“Saya enggak mau rewel perubahannya apa saja. Satu contoh, kalau di sana pemeran utamanya perempuan, di sini kami ganti jadi laki-laki,” ungkap produser Manoj Punjabi perihal lisensi kreatif yang mereka dapatkan dari CJ dalam jumpa pers di MD Place, Jakarta Selatan (12/2).

Pihak CJ Entertainment paham bahwa unsur kelokalan sangat penting ditonjolkan dalam sebuah film untuk mendekatkannya dengan penonton.

Faktor tersebut yang selalu mereka minta kepada sineas yang mengadaptasi film-film mereka.

“Saat kami mencari mitra yang tepat untuk menggarap kembali Sunny, tidak ada pilihan yang lebih tepat selain Miles Films,” ungkap Justin Kim, Producer for International Film Projects di CJ Entertainment.

Penggemar film Laskar Pelangi dan AAdC buatan Miles itu melanjutkan, pihaknya yakin betul dengan kapasitas Mira dkk. memberikan muatan lokal yang tepat untuk adaptasi ini sehingga bisa berinteraksi sepenuh hati dengan penonton Indonesia.

Mira yang mendapat sanjungan tak kalah percaya diri. “Waktu pertama menonton Sunny, saya sudah yakin ini bisa banget diadaptasi menjadi versi Indonesia. Dan kalau mau diproduksi, yang paling tepat mengerjakan adalah kami. Untungnya mereka juga merasakan hal yang sama,” tegas kakak musikus Indra Lesmana itu.

Industri perfilman Indonesia empat tahun terakhir memang semakin menggeliat. Indikasi paling kentara terlihat dari jumlah penonton bioskop yang terus meningkat.

Jika pada 2015 total penjualan tiket bioskop ada pada kisaran 16 juta lembar, maka jumlah tersebut meningkat jadi 50 juta tiket lebih kurun 2018.

Dituturkan Rance Pow dari Artisan Gateway (h/t Jakarta Globe), industri perfilman Indonesia sepanjang 2018 menghasilkan AS$355 juta. Meningkat 2,8 persen dari catatan tahun sebelumnya yang mencetak AS$345 juta.

Indonesia kemudian menjadi negara dengan pasar terbesar ke-15 di dunia dan keenam terbesar di Asia Pasifik.

Dengan tambahan fakta jumlah penduduk melebihi 270 juta jiwa, yang berarti potensi pasarnya masih bisa terus berkembang, para investor asing semakin tertarik melirik industri ini.

Terlebih sejak pemerintah membuka Daftar Negatif Investasi dari sektor perfilman pada 2015.

Salah satu yang langsung memanfaatkan kesempatan tersebut adalah CJ Entertainment, perusahaan hiburan raksasa yang merupakan bagian dari CJ Group.

Langkah pertama yang mereka lakukan adalah menyokong produksi dan turut mengedarkan film A Copy of My Mind arahan Joko Anwar.

Hingga tahun ini, CJ Entertainment sudah bekerja sama dengan sejumlah rumah produksi di Tanah Air memproduksi sembilan film Indonesia, tiga di antaranya merupakan adaptasi film Korea.

Langkah tersebut sebenarnya ditetapkan CJ Entertainment sejak dua tahun silam untuk merespons kondisi pasar dalam negeri mereka.

“Pasar domestik (Korea) telah sangat jenuh dalam beberapa tahun terakhir. Mengembangkan pasar luar negeri pada akhirnya bukan lagi sebuah pilihan, tapi suatu keharusan,” kata Jeong Tae-sung, CEO CJ Entertainment, dilansir Variety.

Indonesia bukan pasar asing bagi produk-produk budaya populer asal negeri tersebut. Demam drama Korea alias drakor sudah melanda masyarakat Tanah Air sejak Trans TV mulai menayangkan serial Mother Sea pada 2002 silam.

Langkah tersebut kemudian diikuti stasiun televisi lainnya, seperti Indosiar, RCTI, SCTV, B Channel (kini Rajawali TV), dan Trans 7.

Sambutan terhadap film-film asal Korea juga tak kalah gempita. Berhubung film-film produksi CJ yang kemudian diadaptasi sineas kita masuk kategori box office, meraih minat penonton dengan cepat bisa terjadi.

Akun Twitter dan Instagram Miles Films seketika kebanjiran testimoni dari mereka yang sudah menonton versi aslinya.

Mayoritas mengaku sudah tidak sabar menanti seperti apa versi adaptasi Indonesia film tersebut.

Riri menyambut terbuka adanya proyek mengadaptasi film-film luar negeri seperti ini. Sebab ada dua faktor yang membuat prosesnya menarik.

Hal pertama terkait efisiensi waktu. “Biasanya waktu pengembangan cerita di Miles Films bisa 1,5 tahun sampai 2 tahun. Dengan adanya model seperti ini kami bisa memangkas waktu tersebut jadi 8 bulan karena pondasi ceritanya sudah ada,” jelas Riri.

Faktor kedua, ada tantangan lain ketika harus menulis ulang karakter dan perjalanan hidup tokoh-tokoh dalam sebuah film yang sudah punya skrip kuat.

Harapan Riri, pada masa mendatang tiba giliran film-film orisinal Indonesia yang diadaptasi oleh rumah produksi atau studio dari mancanegara.

Mengingat sepak terjang sejumlah film Indonesia yang mendapatkan atensi warga global; Marlina Si Pembunuh dalam Empat Babak, Pengabdi Setan, dan The Night Comes for Us untuk menyebut beberapa, harapan Riri bukan pepesan kosong.

#PSHnews 53rd Baeksang Arts Awards Honors Film And TV Extras In Heartwarming Performance The 53rd Baeksang Arts Awards were held on May 3 and one moment stood out to many of the actors who were there. The concept of this year’s ceremony was “Healing,” containing a message of hope for everyone to forget the painful and hard times and start again. Befitting of the concept, the awards ceremony prepared a special stage for the last performance of the first half of the event. Forte Di Quattro, the winning team from JTBC’s “Phantom Singer,” was joined on stage by 33 extras who have appeared in movies and dramas to perform Seo Young Eun’s “Dreaming.” The performance gave these actors the opportunity to be in the spotlight for the first time. The actors put their hearts into the music, singing about how much being an actor means to them. Feeling their sincerity and looking back on their own careers, many of the actors who were attending the ceremony could be seen tearing up. Dia mencoba mengungkap kebenaran dan rahasia yang dimiliki para siswa di sekolah itu. Ki Moo Hyeok juga terlobat dengan seorang guru bernama Ha So-Hyun diperankan oleh Keum Sae-Rok.
