Hi Mor,

I hope you don’t mind me asking this and apologies if you’ve answered this already, but for Thailand travel advice: could you suggest a rough estimate of how much cash I would need for a two week trip?

I’m not planning to drink/go clubbing. I’ll be mostly eating, visiting attractions and maybe the odd tour/boat trip. I’ll be in Bangkok and Phuket.

Even a rough rough estimate will help :).

I don’t mind at all- ask away. you’re going to have an amazing time!

we paid for all our hotels ahead of time, so the cash we brought was for pretty much exactly what you’re talking about.

I started with around 17,500 baht ($500 USD) & ended up getting out another $300-$400 USD equivalent later on. that might sound like a lot, but that covered all my food, transportation, multiple spa trips, new luggage, extra baggage fees while flying in country, a couple gifts for people back home, shopping for myself and experiences for 2 weeks. I didn’t really deny myself anything, so for me, it was a bargain. we did pay for the KP boat tour & Promthep Cape sunset yacht tour ahead of time. I had about $100ish USD left over at the end, so I spent about $700-$800 (can’t recall) in cash total.

if you can afford to take out extra, do it early to avoid ATM fees down the line. you can easily exchange whatever you don’t spend at the airport. if you want to get real nerdy about it like I did, make a spreadsheet of all your projected expenses & try to bring 15% or more than you expect you’ll need.

pick pocketing doesn’t seem to be much of an issue in Thailand, but I highly recommend not carrying it all on you once you get to where you’re going, just to be safe. cash still seems to be the preferred (sometimes only) method of payment in most places, so don’t count on being able to fall back on debit cards, credit cards, etc.

if you don’t have them already, some airline-approved luggage locks should give you some peace of mind if you leave cash in your room. I snagged a pair on Amazon that open with keycards you can keep in your wallet so you never have to remember a code.

p.s. I can’t remember the name of the spa right now, but if you’re interested in getting a Thai massage or just hitting up a spa, the best one we went to by far was in Phuket (it was incredible & very reasonable)! just comment or send me a message & I’ll track down the name for you.

I just caught up with a bunch of BL I missed from 2023: Love for Love's Sake, Jun and Jun, The New Employee, Kiseki: Dear to Me, and To My Start 2 from 2022. All good, lfls and tms2 are my angsty faves and Chen Yi and Ai Di have simply taken over my brain cells to argue and never say one single thing directly if it could be said obliquely and with threats of violence.

I just started Love in the Air lol because I wanted something light but ep 1 and Payu's vibes are perhaps not for me. I'm also watching Build Up, this korean vocal survival show thing, it's great background watch vibes.

Honestly I'm kind of looking for BLs to watch, not that there isn't wild amounts but because I want something which is kind of similar to The Eighth Sense or I Promised You the Moon, which is to say, a bit artsy, a bit angsty and with something to say outside of the romance itself? Thai QL Favorites Tag Game

Arghhh I just know this is going to be so hard, I'm gonna be an indecisive mess throughout.

Favorite Thai QL: Starting off strong with an impossible question to answer! I'll always have a spot for Bad Buddy in my heart, being the creative genius it is, and bonus points for being my first actual BL. But I have to also mention My School President, for the sheer joy, amazement and wonder that series sparked in me. I cried. My only 12% is forever going to remain in my heart, it hit close to home but I liked the pain. Probably the sweetest, most wholesome show ever. And, can't quite wrap this up without my newest favorite: Not Me!! Truly an amazing series that had pretty much all I could ask for.

Favorite Pairing: Dang it. I feaking love Gemini Fourth, they're genuinely such an amazing pair with amazing chemistry. But also, OffGun in NoT Me genuinely knocked the wind out of me. (Special mention to SantaEarth for being frickin adorable)

Most underrated actor: Joining @dribs-and-drabbles in the pitch for Harit, most well known for his role as Todd in Not Me. I REALLY want to see him as a lead, because I knew he'd be evil from the start and yet I was still so sad when the reveal came.

Favorite Character: God this is so hard to chooseee. Probably Tinn from MSP because my god the guy is so cute, and the greenest of flags to ever green flag. Also Black, from Not Me because I am here for the spiky on the outside but a little bit soft deep deep inside thing. And I can't forget about bestie Sam from GAP the series. Everything about her was just>>>

Favorite Side Character: Tiw from MSP for being the best wingman ever, and Ink for being the best just ever.

Favorite scene in a QL: Theres many, but two main ones come to mind here. The bar scene in episode 12 of Bad Buddy, when the gang is hanging out, drinking, and witnessing the stupidity of their younger selves through the eyes of an older generation. Second is the pride celebration scene in Not Me. I tell you, that scene made me sob.

Favorite line in a QL: I literally have a google docs filled with impressive lines from QLs!!!! I think I'd have to go with "All we can do is try. Even if its scary, we have to try it to find out" from the eighth sense, ep 10. "I will choose to remember only the good ones so there will only be the beauty of tomorrow" from uwma ep 10 comes a close second though.

Most Anticipated QL (& why): 23.5 I NEED high school lesbians. Also, GMMTV's first gl!!! I'm praving they don't f it up.

Healthiest relationship in a QL: Probably PatPran or TinnGun

Most toxic relationship in a QL: Agreeing with @telomeke on Tharntype here. Goddam they were messy. And toxic.

Guilty pleasure series: Uhhh Love in The Air.

Most underrated series: My Only 12% definitely, no doubt about it. This little series is so amazing and it needs so much more love. The story is simple but engaging. The characters have amazing dynamics and chemistry. It has a lot of little messages and meanings and lessons hidden in it.

Okay, so at the moment the five things making me happiest are:

TayNew. Okay, I know it's cliche to pick a ship or whatever, but recently they've really been something good to take my mind off the drama that is my real life? I've been struggling to focus and watch my current airing shows, or even shows that are in my watchlist, but I rewatch Dark Blue Kiss/Kiss Me Again and Cherry Magic whenever I need to just relax (although there is nothing relaxing about DBK XD). I'm so sad I wasn't able to watch the Polca Time Travel concert, but I'm hoping I can catch some clips or find a recording of it.

2. My vape. Okay, so I don't smoke nicotine, I've never smoked a cigarette or any tobacco product in my life. However, I use CBD vape juice and it has been a big help in my life. I also use cannabis (as y'all know) so I get THC vape juice sometimes, and gosh, it helps. Cannabis makes the world a better place, okay? XD

3. My cat. He's ten and fat and his black hair is getting speckled with grey now, but he's my little tiny itty bitty baby and I would kill for him.

4. Chinese curry. I've recently been making vegetable Chinese curry a lot (sometimes with fake chicken - I'm a vegetarian, in case anyone didn't know) and gosh, it's so good XD

5. My harem pants collection that I keep growing XD I love my harem pants. I started wearing them years ago out of comfort but I feel like being obsessed with Thailand has made me more obsessed.

I have a couple of thoughts regarding the Kim action scene in the last episode of KinnPorsche. Of course, I find Chay's complete oblivion just as funny as the next person but I was struck but a couple of other things while watching the scene. The first is that Jeff has done surprisingly well in the action scenes for the series for an actor who has no action experience. Like, Apo does amazingly well in his scenes but he's done a lot of action series in the past. For Jeff to do as well as he has is actually pretty impressive. But then he has been such a pleasant surprise throughout. I had enjoyed him in Ingredients but that series wasn't exactly one that you had to really get your teeth into as an actor.

The other thing that I noticed was about Kim's character. He is the sibling who wants the least to do with the mafia life but he also seems to be the one best equipped for it. I just find that interesting.

We've all talked a lot about how amazing characters like Jao, Sky, Daisy, Touch, and Nuea are in SCOY but I really feel like the unsung hero of the show is Som. She is so fiercely protective of her people. And what she said to Daisy in episode 11 tore me apart because it was so beautifully put.

But yeah, don't sleep on Som.

It cracks me up how many people are suddenly thirsting over Seng as if he hadn’t just starred in another BL where his looks were never mentioned. It’s like the Clark Kent and Superman of BL. Apparently glasses and a button down really are enough to hide someone’s true identity.

I’ve been thinking about something for the last week regarding Gram and Nuch. First off, I have to acknowledge how huge it is that a main character in a drama dated a trans woman. This should not be overlooked in our excitement over a possible Gram/Black ship.

But I want to actually acknowledge something else that Gram’s relationship with Nuch does. It place a male lead - an actor with a large fan base who is widely considered to be one of the best looking actors at GMMTV - in a relationship with a plus sized woman. This is a different kind of representation. One I never expected but one that warmed my heart nevertheless.

Okay my friend, I’m sorry for the super long wait for this! It’s finally done and I’m posting it, can you believe!!

This was a fun prompt, and i hope my trash writing has been worth the wait (it probably hasn’t, but let’s not think about it)

(Also content warning: for blood and knives, but like nothing is in great detail don’t worry)

Stakeouts are boring.

Yeah, they look fun in the movies where everything is shiny and glossed over and the protagonist is only sitting for a handful of minutes before the bad guy inevitably trips up and the action begins. In reality though, it’s hours upon hours of sitting in the cold and being bored out of your mind because unfortunately even criminals are allowed some downtime.

The job he’d had been hired on was pretty run of the mill. A small- time low-life drug dealer trying to make a name for himself, attracting the wrong kind of attention from the bigger players on his patch, and like clockwork he’d had been called in to clear house.

Gram had set up, on the rooftop across from his marks top floor apartment, and from his vantage point he could easily see the man moving around the small space. When he’d first got into this job he thought he would have to bare witness to all the different and horrible ways that humans could be cruel and twisted. He’d expected these men to spend their free time skinning puppies or something else as equally fucked up, turns out, a surprising amount of criminals spend their free time watching Netflix.

So yeah, stakeouts are boring, and it’s this fact alone that had allowed Gram to let his guard drop.

The only warning he got, before his head was smashed viscously into the wall beside him was the faint smell of cigarettes.

There’s blood running over his eyebrow from where his head had collided with the wall, but that’s the least of his worries as he feels the other persons weight settle along his back, keeping him locked in place, and the unmistakable feeling of a knife edge being placed firmly along the side of his neck.

“I mean, I knew you were shit at your job, but this is just pathetic” a low voice mocks in his ear.

“Who the fuck are you” Gram responds in as threatening a tone as he can manage, but he imagines it cant have the effect he wants it to while the blood continues to stream down the side of his face.

“Looks like you aren’t as subtle as you think you are. Our buddy down there, clocked you following him home. First rule of tailing someone, asshole! Don’t get caught.” His attacker punctuates his point by pressing the blade more firmly against the skin of Gram’s neck.

Sensing little options, Gram decides it’s probably wise to keep his mouth shut for the time being.

Lightning fast, and before Gram can even fully get his bearings, the knife is pulled away from his neck and he’s spun around to face his attacker. He almost breathes a sigh of relief when the blade is pulled away from his skin but it fades quickly when he realises that the knife is now being pressed against the skin above the waistband of his jeans and a hand takes up place at his throat instead.

He hadn’t really known what he expected the other man to look like, but what he absolutely wasn’t prepared for was the way his throat ran dry at the sight of the other man. The universe has a funny sense of humour Gram thinks, of course the man currently threatening to kill him would be unbelievably good-looking.

“He wants you dead, you know”

Gram feeling a moment of bravery, or rather stupidity, decides to call the other man’s bluff.

“ If you wanted me dead though, I already would be” He says, locking eyes with the other man. “True” the other man concedes, with a slight tilt of his head towards him. “So why haven’t you?” Gram questions. His attacker makes a point of slowly dragging his gaze down the lines of Grams body, hand tightening ever so slightly on his throat as he does so, before resuming eye contact. “Maybe I don’t think you’re an entirely lost cause” he replies “ and why is that?” The man doesn’t answer right away, instead choosing to loosen his grip on Gram’s throat, leaning in closer to the skin below his ear. Goosebumps explode across gram’s skin as he feels the the tip of the knife being dragged softly over the skin above the waist band of his jeans before slowly being pulled up up under his t-shirt and dragged slowly over the skin of his abs. Gram is really going to have to have a word with himself later about the way his back arches ever so slightly into the movement of the knife across his body.

“Oh, I’m sure we can think of some way, you can prove me right” the other man breathes into the skin of his neck.

Gram feels the knife move away from his skin, and he knows he should use this opportunity to make a break for it, but he’s too entranced currently with the man in front of him to do anything other than stay exactly where he is.

They move closer together until there is only a hair width of space between their lips, before a smirk breaks out across the other man’s face and Gram feels the cold press of a knife at the base of his skull.

The other man moves away from him quickly after that, a lock of gram’s distinctive silver hair in his hand.

“What are you doing” Gram asks

“Saving your life, dumbass” the other man says making his way towards the roof exit.

“Wait, what about what just happened” Gram asks, head spinning at the sudden turn of events

“Don’t worry, I’m not done with you yet” the other man smirks, before disappearing through the door.

It takes Gram all of five seconds to follow after him.

favorite time of the year: summer vacations, i hate summers but is the only time i don't have to go to uni, so... or winter break, for the same reasons lol

favorite drink: any kind of natural juice!

current favorite song: uhhhh, this one is hard... i been listening to "Always You" by Zee Pruk and "Tell Me Now" by Loona x Bg

favorite song: i guess this means "the ultimate favorite song"... in that case... i don't know if i have one but the more special ones are "Number 1", "Rain 51db", "Universe" and "U R" all of them by loona
