Norse Ice giants "Juton" is what the Christians know as "The Nephilim" which were spawned from the fallen angels.. Enki was an Anunnaki so was Gilgamesh. They may have been the Aesir Gods. Read about the Lyrans. Like the Sphinx a Feline humaniod race.. They give hints about this in the cartoon Thundercats Lyrans vs Reptilians.. We all know Loki had a serpent for a son jormungandr. This is why people associated Loki or Enki as Lucifer..
This is a great example of how New Agers get the old traditions they try to appeal to so incredibly wrong.
Norse paganism was animistic. Norse ice giants aren't some kind of half-human hybrids; they are nature spirits. Have you ever been caught in a blizzard? If you have, you have had an encounter with an ice giant.
Loki has been associated with Satan because modern Christians (and even culturally Christian pagans) projected a Christian moral worldview onto Norse mythology and spirituality. They assumed that since Odin was the supreme god, then his rival Loki had to be analogous to Satan. Once you start really digging into Norse mythology and start getting your head around Norse animism, you'll begin to see how wrong and ridiculous these people are.
And of course, all that stuff about the Annunaki actually being space aliens is total racist bullshit. And that shit about reptilians is literally just repackaged antisemitism. In fact, New Age mythology has quite a lot to do with Nazi racial ideology, even if a lot of New Agers don't realize it.
Also, citing Thundercats as evidence of your conspiracy theory is really damn silly. For one thing, many writers borrow ideas from fringe literature all the time because they sound fun (see: Roland Emmerich), so even if a piece of media echoes things you believe in, doesn't mean the creators "know the truth." Also, some of you people (actually, a lot of you people) literally just watch a TV show or movie that seems to confirm some of your beliefs, and you just add its other elements into your belief system.

Do you think the stargate franchise succeeded because of its crossover appeal to the ancient aliens crowd, or in spite of it?
i dunno! i don't know how popular that ancient aliens stuff was in the late 90s/early 2000s, and in general i think of ancient aliens as belonging more to new age woo. sg-1 (and even the roland emmerich film) is at its heart a high-concept military SF show that uses some of the surface aesthetics of ancient aliens (like the egyptological theme of goa'uld tech, or the whole not-very-well-explained concept of "ascension") but has a lot more in common with, like. star trek. it's very cynical about spirituality sometimes. and my naive impression about like new age ufo cults descended from the theosophical tradition positions the idea of progressive enlightenment among civilizations (esp lost civilizations) very different from the more whig history/tech tree approach of sg-1 (or star trek or a lot of other contemporary sf)
but clearly it's leveraging some awareness of the graham hancock/erich von däniken/immanual velikovsky to hook viewers, and i think in that respect the fact it's not too rigorous on either the sf or the history is actually a point in its favor--look, the showrunners seem to be saying, the aliens all speak english, our villains are all scenery-chewing goofballs, daniel jackson quotes almost word-for-word the "hole left by the christian dark ages" meme in season 1. don't take this shit seriously, because we sure don't.

Great News! Congrats Eddie!!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Eddie Redmayne will be honoured with Golden Eye Award at Zurich Film Festival 2022, on September 25, 2022!!
'EDDIE REDMAYNE TO RECEIVE GOLDEN EYE"
06,September 2022, by Zurich Film Festival.
"Academy Award-winner Eddie Redmayne will be awarded a Golden Eye for his career achievements during the 18th ZFF. The British actor will receive the award in person on September 25 prior to presenting the European premiere of Tobias Lindholm's thriller THE GOOD NURSE, in which he plays a nurse who poses a deadly threat to his patients. He will also participate in a ZFF Masters session.
Eddie Redmayne is one of his generation's most outstanding character actors. The broader public will recognise him as Newt Scamander from the fantasy franchise FANTASTIC BEASTS, the arthouse crowd will know him from more challenging dramas like TRIAL OF THE CHICAGO 7. Eddie Redmayne won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his portrayal of the paralysed physicist Stephen Hawking in THE THEORY OF EVERYTHING (2014). The Zurich Film Festival honours the Brit with a Golden Eye for his outstanding career achievements. Redmayne will accept the award on September 25 at the Zurich Convention Centre, prior to the European premiere screening of his most recent film THE GOOD NURSE by Tobias Lindholm. The acclaimed director will be in Zurich to present his latest film in person. «Eddie Redmayne is one of contemporary cinema's most versatile actors. He furnishes his characters with a rare human depth and captivates us with his extraordinary powers of expression. Eddie was already in Zurich in 2007 when he played the lead role alongside Julianne Moore in the opening movie SAVAGE GRACE. Back then he was a newcomer, now he returns as an Academy Award winner – and we're super excited,» explains Christian Jungen, Artistic Director of the Zurich Film Festival. «In THE GOOD NURSE, Redmayne once again proves his versatility with a performance that keeps us riveted to our seats.»
Director Tobias Lindholm adds: «Eddie was a joy to work with. He is incredibly caring, incredibly well prepared, and incredibly technical. His preparation allows him to work with great freedom and - what looks like - great ease. And his technique makes the seemingly impossible possible. He humanizes the inhuman. He warms the cold. He glows in the dark. Undisturbed and without blinking. It was not rare that I drove home from the set with the feeling of having been close to greatness.»
In THE GOOD NURSE, Redmayne plays Charles Cullen, the nurse who became known as the «Angel of Death». The film tells the story of Amy, a compassionate nurse stretched to her physical and emotional limits by the hard and demanding night shifts at the ICU. But help arrives when Charlie (Eddie Redmayne), a thoughtful and empathetic fellow nurse, starts at her unit. But after a series of mysterious patient deaths sets off an investigation that points to Charlie as the prime suspect, Amy is forced to risk her life and the safety of her children to uncover the truth.
A gripping thriller based on true events, THE GOOD NURSE is directed by Academy Award nominee Tobias Lindholm, written by Academy Award nominee Krysty Wilson-Cairns, and stars Academy Award winners Jessica Chastain as Amy Loughren and Eddie Redmayne as Charles Cullen, as well as Nnamdi Asomugha, Noah Emmerich, and Kim Dickens.
Tumblr media
The true story underlying THE GOOD NURSE is new territory for Eddie Redmayne. So far, he has played an array of characters in dramas such as THE DANISH GIRL or MY WEEK WITH MARILYN, he starred in the musical adaptation LES MISERABLES (2012), and delighted audiences as Newt Scamander in the «Fantastic Beasts» film series, which became a blockbuster success as a «Harry Potter» spin-off franchise.
Born in 1982 and raised in London, Redmayne took to the stage at an early age: He was in Sam Mendes’ OLIVER in London's West End, and performed and featured in many British theatre productions. Movie directors soon began to take a growing interest in the actor and, while he was playing smaller roles, for example, alongside Helen Mirren and Jeremy Irons in the two-parter ELIZABETH I (2005) or in Robert De Niro's directorial work THE GOOD SHEPARD (2006), he won a starring role as the lead in Tom Kalin's SAVAGE GRACE (2007).
His breakthrough in entertainment cinema came with Tom Hooper's LES MISERABLES, featuring an all-star cast ranging from Hugh Jackman to Russell Crowe, from Anne Hathaway to Amanda Seyfried.
Eddie Redmayne will speak at a one-hour ZFF Masters session at the Arena Cinemas 4 on September 25 at 4:15 pm. Tickets are available from September 12 at zff.com.
Previous award winners are among others Iris Berben, Kristen Stewart, Jake Gyllenhaal, John Malkovich, Helen Hunt and Olivia Colman"..
The 18th edition takes place from September 22 until October 2, 2022
Programme announcement: Thu, September 8, 2022
Ticket sales: from Mon, September 12, 2022

HOUSE OF THE VIRGIN MARY, EPHESUS, TURKEY, (September 13, 2010) In directing his 2004 film, The Passion of the Christ, Mel Gibson was supposed to have been influenced by the book, The Dolorous Passion–a vivid and graphic account of the sorrowful passion of Jesus according to the meditations of Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich.   Early in her life, the German nun had had visions in which she would be talking with Christ, and later on would live out Jesus’ passion through stigmata impressed upon her own body. Her wounds, it is said, would reopen on Good Friday.Anne Catherine Emmerich’s visions were also responsible for identifying what is believed to be the house of the Virgin Mary near Ephesus in Turkey–visions created without her ever having visited the city, which after all had not yet been excavated then. The nun had described the place in exact detail: the rectangular stone house which had a fireplace, an apse and a round back wall; and Mary’s bedroom, which had a spring running under it. While the Roman Catholic Church has never pronounced the authenticity of the house for lack of scientifically acceptable evidence, Pope Pius XII elevated the domicile to the status of a Holy Place (it was and is, after all, venerated by Christians and Muslims), a privilege later made permanent by Pope John XXIII.A trip last year to the sacred site piqued my curiosity. Why would anyone consider holy, a house that had appeared in someone else’s dream? It is said that St. John the Evangelist brought Mary with him to Ephesus after Jesus had consigned her to his care (John 19:26-27), and two facts seem to support this claim: the presence in Ephesus of 1) St. John’s tomb, and 2) the world’s first basilica dedicated to the Virgin. In the end, I do not think it likely that any definitive scientific evidence will ever be found to prove Sister Emmerich’s visions to be more than a fantasy.   But to me, what is utterly convincing is how the structure near Ephesus stands for everything I have known about the Mother of God–how the dwelling place represents absolute humility while remaining unshaken throughout the generations, as Mary’s faith had been, amidst a world of disbelief.

More in-depth/appearance based facts about Amiir
this one will be longer than the basic facts, as these are the smallest details I can think to add more character to Amiir. it also just makes me happy
similar to Raiden's AR display, Amiir has a pair of goggles specially engineered by Doktor with the same functions as Raiden's visor (he also has a respirator like Sam's and Sundowner's since he's still human, but he never wears them at the same time because he thinks it looks silly)
carries around small EMP grenades with sticky coatings on their backs to temporarily disable enemy cyborgs and UGs (calls them stickies)
prefers to go by Calypso because Amiir reminds him of his parents (he left unexpectedly at age 18 to keep them safe), but Raiden is an exception
breaks down when he realizes he's gone too far and killed people, and this usually leads to loads of not-so-happy-thoughts
gets cold easily, as he doesn't eat a lot and that effects his body fat content (he tries not to eat around Raiden because he knows Raiden misses eating people food, but he spends a lot of time with the cyborg soooo...)
his motorcycle has an auto mode (like Raiden's car) that can reroute itself to follow him and is activated by a voice command. this auto mode is used multiple times throughout the events of MGR:R (which I have also decided to insert myself into 😭)
enjoys music (mostly pop rock) and plays the guitar and trumpet
being human, he has armor instead of a whole body dedicated to combat. he deems it uncomfortable and takes parts of it off mid-mission (Raiden ridicules him for this)
adopted Christianity as an adult. prays for forgiveness at the end of everyday for all the people he's killed
going back to the respect thing, he personally researched and properly handled the remains of the Winds of Destruction. he felt like they deserved more than just a prayer
very close with Sunny. listens to her ramble about machines and mechanisms for hours until he kinda understands
has a love/hate relationship with Dr. Emmerich. knows it's not his fault, but hates that he didn't give Sunny a normal childhood
tries to do nice things for Doktor and the Maverick team. he feels bad just asking them for help and things on missions, so he brings/mails them baked goods and gifts when he can
he loves animal crossing?? bro's a whole killer but he runs his town like a boss
a little subsection for his appearance:
fluffy brown hair that he flips back casually, but leaves in his face on missions and stuff to be less identifiable
brown eyes that are easily readable, despite how hard he tries to make them not (more narrow when tired, eye bags form easily, get brighter/wider when content or happy, etc.)
pink lips with teethmarks in them that stand out against his medium skin, as well as a gap between his two front teeth
slim nose bridge with a bump in it near the top that runs into a button
both ear lobes are pierced, but only his left helix is
sharp jawline that he's very proud of
likes to grow his nails out, but they break a lot in combat, so he tries to keep them short
very lean, but not unhealth-ily so (this goes back to the eating thing)
casual dress consists of hoodies, t-shirts, sweatpants, jeans, sometimes leggings, and sometimes something cute he probably found on shein or smth
lots of rings, earrings, and a dog tag
and that's all for now! this one might be added onto as well, but I'm happy with it for now
