In My Opinion of Ted Dekker
In My Opinion,Ted Dekker is one of the best Christian fiction authors today.
In my opinion, Ted Dekker is one of the best Christian fiction authors today. His books always keep me riveted. I have never read a book by Ted Dekker that I didn’t like. More than that, though, he always weaves some sort of biblical truth woven into his stories. This is especially true of his series- Beyond the Circle. The first book is The 49th Mystic came out in May 2018 and the second book,…

Series Spotlight: The Minnesota Marshalls by Susan May Warren
Tumblr media
This series has been consuming my reading time for the past few weeks, and I am not mad about it.
The Minnesota Marshalls is a series that follows the Marshall family. While their parents own a vineyard in Minnesota, these 5 siblings face danger, mystery, and adventure at every turn.
Fraser is a Spec Ops fighter, Jonas is a storm chaser, Ned is a SEAL, Iris is an international football referee, and Creed is an international track star. The 5 books in the series each center around one of these characters.
Now, this is not the type of series I typically pick up. However, when I stumbled across Ned’s tag line:
A Navy SEAL. The woman he loves...kidnapped. The stakes couldn't be higher.
I had to try it.
When I started the book, I felt like I was dropped right into the middle of this family's drama. I later realized that is because Ned is Book 3. After going back to the beginning of the series, reading them chronologically does make a lot more sense while still plopping you into the middle of the drama that surrounds the Marshall family.
There are numerous references to characters from other Susan May Warren books which adds to the feeling of being thrown into this moment of these characters' lives. The fact that I felt thrown into the middle of the drama was actually what I liked most. It felt as if I should have known certain things, as if the assumption was that I had experienced it with the family already.
While the books are tied together, each has its own distinct plot. These books could be considered romantic adventure or romantic suspense. The action and romance felt well balanced and equally important to the series. The action-packed plot kept me engaged and the romance both raised the stakes and highlighted the characters' attributes.
If you enjoy suspense, spies, and the importance of family ties, I would highly recommend this series.
Book 1 : Fraser
Book 2 : Jonas
Book 3 : Ned
Book 4 : Iris
Book 5 : Creed

i like to remember my childhood self as the person who organized a funeral for a crow, disrupting class by convincing about forty five twelve-year-old girls to ditch last period to dig a two-foot grave by the sandpit, fashion a cross out of sticks and grass, and stand silently and solemnly in the sun to honour the passing of a crow we did not know.

Double Take by Lynette Eason was a NetGalley ARC and this is my fair and honest review of the book. The book published on 9 January 2024. It is Christian Romantic Suspense and is the first book in the Lake City Heroes series. The prologue perfectly sets the tone and pacing for the entire novel. It opens up with our heroine fighting for her life as her fiancé attempts to murder her in her…

#RevellBookReview ~ Never Fall Again by Lynn H. Blackburn @LynnHBlackburn @RevellReads @NetGalley
My Thoughts Blackburn’s latest novel offers a very promising backdrop of intrigue and romance. Landry is an appealing protagonist who finds refuge behind the resort’s gates as she rebuilds her life. Her budding relationship with Cal allows both of the characters to open their hearts after their past hurts. However, the plot falters several times. The suspicious fire that destroys Landry’s…
