Christmas Countdown Day 24 — Get caught kissing Santa Clause

The last minute dash to gather more gifts and food bank items before the 25th had brought back the elf ears and the pointed shoes with silver bells that you loved so much. The transformation from cop to elf was one that you thoroughly enjoyed, seeing Andy out of the uniform and into something red and green was cute, almost as cute as the man himself when he whispered softly that he could get you on the nice list since he had connections to Santa.

“Since you could use all the help you can get,” Andy had cathartically mumbled into your lips as he stole you kisses in the corner of the station, preparing for his grand re-debut as an elf, “you seem to attract trouble.”

“You smash your exes car one time and suddenly you attract trouble-“ The moment between you fell silent, interrupted by one of his co-workers finding you at the back of the station, interrupting your attempt to steal each other’s breath.

“Barber, we need you to step in as Santa.” He had apologized with a half-crooked smile, holding up the red and white suit.

“Looks like you’ve been promoted.” You pat his cheek twice and stepped away from him, giving him a chance to grab the suit with one hand. “Maybe I’ll have the chance to talk to the big man myself, plead my case.”

“There’s going to be children, Mrs. Barber.” Andy pulled you back to his chest, hungrily kissing you with fervour. “You need to be on your best behaviour.”

“I’m good around children, it’s some of the adults I can’t stand.” You shrugged and tasked yourself with eloping Andy into an empty room at the station to get changed, taking the elf costume he was wearing and bunching it together as he slipped on the red Santa suit, and ultimately reached for the hat and fake beard.

“You know if Santa Clause looked like you, I’m sure more adults would believe in him.” you made the remark as Andy tried to fix the white beard, his blue eyes sparkling with deeply seeded intent to ruin you when this was done. “I know I would definitely be waiting under the tree wrapped in a bow.”

“You still can,” Andy’s husky voice was brimming with lust, his hands grasping hold of your hips as he spun you to face the door, walking out with you while his lips trailed along the shell of your ear. “You could be waiting for me under the tree in nothing but a ribbon.”

“Does anyone get Santa Clause anything for Christmas? What would he like for Christmas?” You hummed, turning again to face him.

“You,” Andy’s hands rest against your hips holding you against his chest as his lips crashed against yours, kissing you with every bought of passion that he could before he was swept away into the task of being Santa, “all I want is you.”

“Santa! Santa is kissing-“ You pulled away from him and looked over your shoulder, spying the row of kids were coming into the station, all of them having their eyes on you.

“Good luck explaining this one.” You laughed under your breath, standing on your tippy toes to kiss Andy’s cheek once more. “Merry Christmas, Santa Clause!”

If you’ve been around for a few years, you’ve seen me vaguely mention a “Silverborn Countdown Challenge” several times. It’s been delayed and changed as many times as the book itself, lol.

If anyone wants sort of a low-stakes, very chill and spaced out version of this ye olde never tackled challenge to complete in the next year before Silverborn, I propose what I’m doing:

Halloween Binge: Day 7 ☠️

So...tired...😓

I spent the entire day cleaning the house while my family was away, so I listened to somewhat horror or dark-themed music, like "Hide and Seek" by Lizz Robinett, "Villain" by Wild Fire, and "This is Halloween" from The Nightmare Before Christmas movie.

I also watched/listen to a few videos by blameitonjorge, like "Top 20 Unintentionally Disturbing Kids' Characters From Around the World."

Not very exciting, I know, but it's something!

But! I'll be helping to decorate for Halloween tomorrow or Sunday! So that'll be fun!

So that's been my day! I really need to lay down...

Christmas Countdown day 24 — Have a sleepover in front of the tree

“This time next year, we’ll have three of us-“ Ari’s hum silences you, the rumble of his chest against your back is as peaceful as you imagined when he rests his hand against your stomach.

“I hope it’s a girl,” Ari whispers softly into your ear, the promise of a baby in the spring was well upon you now. It was a little on the nose if you thought too much about it, coming out of hibernation and having a baby not a few weeks later but both you and Ari were overjoyed. It was what he wanted for so long, to have a mate and a cub trailing along after him on his property and if you could have relived the moment he found out over and over again you would’ve.

“You want a girl?” You asked, your voice quiet as the two of you laid in the living room, cozied by the fire roaring in the fireplace and the glow of the Christmas tree and wrapped boxes below.

“I want nothing more. I want another little you running around so damn bad.” He spread his fingers along your belly, feeling and caressing the baby bump beneath his your shirt. “A sweet little cub that takes after their mama.”

“Ari,” you squirmed against him, nuzzling your cheek against his arm after you pushed back into him, wanting no space between his chest and your back, “I want to give you everything you deserve.”

“You have,” he contended, relaying his happiness with his life, with your life, in the late hours of Christmas Eve, “you’ve given me everything. I can’t think of a better way to close out Hanukkah and Christmas. You and our future baby are everything.”

You sighed his name and drew yourself further under the blanket he draped across the two of you, warmed by Ari’s body, the fireplace and the blanket. You were content, happy, and when Ari had become relaying stories of his childhood with his mama you had fallen asleep to the sound of his dulcet voice.

You were thrilled to be ringing in the New Year in Switzerland with Lia, having spent Christmas back in England with your family. The two of you had spent the day helping her family set up for a small NYE party, the two of you were on decoration set up.

As you spent the day setting up, you couldn’t help but reminisce about the past year. Sure you were proud of all you accomplished with Arsenal and England, but some of your happiest moments came from spending time with Lia, on and off the pitch. The two of you had gotten closer after her breakup with Caitlin and it eventually turned into a budding relationship.

As you were getting ready in the bathroom, you had just finished getting dressed when you felt your girlfriend’s arms wrap around you. Lia’s chin was resting on your shoulder when you looked up and made eye contact with her through the mirror. You gave her a quick smile before turning around in her arms and pulling her into a heated kiss, pouring all your love for the midfielder into it.

“What was that for?” your girlfriend purred against your lips, her hands tightening around your waist.

“Just because,” you spoke softly, giving her one more quick kiss before pulling away.

Before either of you could say anything else, you heard Lia’s sister calling her downstairs. Lia rolled her eyes but the smile on her face told she wasn’t upset.

“Gehen (go), I'll see you later.” you smiled, pushing her lightly towards the door.

You laughed as she blew you a quick kiss before disappearing to help her sister. You finished everything you needed to be ready before heading downstairs to offer your assistance to help finish setting up before people started arriving.

The NYE party was in full swing and with about six minutes before the clock struck midnight, January 1st, you couldn’t find your girlfriend. You went room to room, having no luck before venturing outside, and finding Lia sitting on a lawn bench looking up at the moon.

“You’re missing the party, you know?” you joked, taking a seat next to her.

Lia didn’t say anything but you could see her smile as she stared upward. Neither of you spoke, happy to sit in a comfortable silence. It was Lia’s turn to think back on the past year, beyond grateful for you and the relationship you’ve started.

Your eyes stayed locked on your girlfriend, not moving even when she turned to look at you. You could see a light blush on her face, the moonlight hitting her face just right. You weren’t sure how long you had been sitting out there but you could hear the loud countdown of “10 to 1” from where you were sitting.

“I’m so thankful for you, y/n.” Lia blushed, eyes full of love.

“I can’t wait to see what next year has for us.” you hummed, your eyes reflecting the same amount of love as hers.

The two of you moved slightly closer on the bench, Lia’s hand resting on top of yours that was sitting on the bench.

The quietness around the two was comforting, allowing you both to revel in how in love with the other you were.

You were beyond grateful for the things that happened throughout the year, thankful that had led you here to Switzerland to celebrate with Lia.

You and Lia moved closer on the bench the two of you shared. You had stopped listening to the countdown happening inside, reaching your hand towards Lia’s cheek and resting your forehead against hers.

“I love you, so much.” you purred, eyes falling closed.

“I love you, too.” Lia’s voice was quiet, not wanting to disrupt the quietness surrounding you.

You both leaned in at the same time, lips connecting in a heated kiss. You could barely make up a loud cheer of “ONE!” followed by even louder cheers for the new year. You were more focused on Lia at the moment, making sure she could feel every ounce of your love with this kiss.
