Chromium, o Mutável/ Chromium, the Mutable
Tumblr media

No special effect, but very powerful. From the Aether side. A new card.

it's a very small thing but my main social hobby is playing magic the gathering (especially commander), and at the end of last year i just lost the motivation to make decks and got very stressed about it
but i've managed to build three new EDH decks this year already and i'm very happy about it

In light of that, I think you'd be best served by jamming lots of FNM drafts in MH3 or Duskmourn (NOT BLOOMBURROW), mostly because you'd get the exposure of making decks that have more complicated high-level summaries than 'every squirrel I could pick'.
Mostly because Limited is the art of making and revising decks in short time frames with suboptimal materials, and basically no draft deck is wholly reducible to 1 mechanic or creature type. And yeah, there's some lots of practice in killing your darlings as part of that, but realizing your game equity by splashing your 3rd color sensibly or not trying to cast Emrakul the World Anew in your 3color sealed deck can be incredibly immediate in a way that going from 50 etb effects to 49 may not.
A more specific point I'd push is to try and consciously recognize win conditions that don't sound like Craterhoof Behemoth's. Make a load of artifacts and kamehameha someone out with expansion/explosion in a Galazeth Prismari deck. Kill with equippped and enchanted commander damage via an actual Elder Dragon like Chromium the Mutable. Or play All of the Magic by finding every doublestrike source, mana rocks, and some removal into Medomai the Ageless.
What is it that people find engaging about building a commander deck that doesn't care about creature type or a specific mechanic like blink/ETB, mutate, or food/treasure/creature tokens?
I want to learn to build more types of decks but without a tribe or game mechanic to build around I get bored.

I've been pondering the Elder Dragons playable in Commander, and I think I've cracked the code regarding the rest of the wedge-coloured cycle.
Firstly, a recap of who we have already:
ALLY-PAIR
-Dragonlord Ojutai☀️💧
-Dragonlord Silumgar💧💀
-Dragonlord Kolaghan💀🔥
-Dragonlord Atarka🔥🌳
-Dragonlord Dromoka🌳☀️
ENEMY-PAIR
-Shadrix Silverquill☀️💀
-Galazeth Prismari💧🔥
-Beledros Witherbloom💀🌳
-Velomachus Lorehold🔥☀️
-Tanazir Quandrix🌳💧
ARC/SHARD
-Arcades, the Strategist🌳☀️💧
-Chromium, the Mutable☀️💧💀
-Nicol Bolas, the Ravager/ (Creature)💧💀🔥
-//Nicol Bolas, the Arisen (Planeswalker)🔶
-Vaevictis Asmadi, the Dire💀🔥🌳
-Palladia-Mors, the Ruiner🔥🌳☀️
WEDGE
-Piru, the Volatile🔥☀️💀
So Piru is currently the only wedge Elder Dragon. Let's fix that:
-Lividus, the Willful☀️💀🌳
-Rubra, the Ferocious💧🔥☀️
-Ravus, the Tempered💀🌳💧
And a "sparker" version of the OTHER twin:
-Ugin, the Visionary/ (Creature)🌳💧🔥
-//Ugin, the Awakened (Planeswalker)⚪
This would mean every two- and three-colour grouping having an available Commander option for "proper" EDH, and I for one would be on-board with this idea, since I prefer tricolour decks (followed closely by bicolour and quadcolour).
Of course, you could consider the Primals of Ixalan as honorary monocoloured "Elder Dragons", in which case there's already 21 colour combinations, but there are four whole wedges missing, and no-one likes missing wedges, do they?

Chromium, the Mutable MTG Core 2019 Art director: Cynthia Sheppard and Mark Winters This was an exciting commission as I’d had this idea for a six-limbed dragon’s anatomy/posture for a while, and getting to design and illustrate Chromium gave me the chance to explore it. Keeping his hands free while ‘walking’ also happened to play well with his card’s ability (he can transform into a human) #mtg #magicthegathering #chasestone #illustration #fantasyart #wizardsofthecoast

Note
i never realized how tiny a dragon niv-mizzet was until comparing his new art to chromium the mutable. or even dragons like glorybringer.
Niv-Mizzet is canonically a very powerful dragon, but yeah his original card had him with lower stats for a Legendary Dragon. Note that the low P/T is because of an extremely combo-able ability that can lay down the pain turn after turn. From a flavor perspective, it’s Niv’s intellect and ability, not physical strength, that makes him formidable.

Chromium is great, but I don't want to sign into my browser and have my data synced to Google's servers. Several browsers have been saying they'd add Tor and IPFS support for years, but they just haven't done it yet.īrave is by far the most private and innovative browser that is built off of Chromium. What led you to decide to create a new browser? Have you had any legal pushback? Anything I can do to help as a consumer?īrian: Thanks, some other cool things we have is Tor support and WebTorrent support as well.īrowsers have continued innovating but have been stagnant in a lot of ways. You’re seriously saving people who don’t even realize they’re victims. Between native crypto, VPN, and now IPFS integration, it’s much more than just a browser. IPFS gives users a new way to solve these problems and Brave allows you to load content now that uses IPFS.īlutterfiesFutterBly: Found Brave a few months ago and just wanted to thank you. URLs contain mutable data which isn’t ideal for the future of blockchains and oracles.
#WEBTORRENT SAFE REDDIT OFFLINE#
Offline local network collaboration: IPFS nodes discover each other over local subnets, so you can be in Brave working over IPFS with other people even if the network isn't connected to the internet.īrian: Today's web is expensive for publishers, it's lossy, unversioned, centralized and easily censored. If you went there, you can still go there with IPFS-either you or someone else can still access and serve that content. Maybe the company was bought by Facebook/Twitter/Google/whatever. Maybe they forgot to renew their SSL cert. Websites or pages offline: Maybe it's a DDOS.With IPFS content, the content you've already browsed is fetched from your local node EVEN IF YOU'RE OFFLINE. Accessing content you've already been to-revisitation dominates browser navigation tasks for regular users. Here are some things IPFS does that affect everyday web usage: IPFS can be used similarly, but also enables a lot more privacy/security models than HTTP does-so looks *very* different in comparison. A website domain today is the "where" your browser finds the URL you asked for, and then asks for the content, and renders it. Trojen-horse: I joined Brave over the privacy aspect, how would you explain IPFS to a total newbie?ĭietrich: IPFS is a content access and distribution protocol that addresses content by *what* it is instead of *where* it is.

Highlights can be found below, with a link to the full AMA at the bottom of this post. With this integration, Brave is the first web browser to offer native IPFS Support to its users, which it considers a key milestone in its quest to make the Web more transparent, decentralized, and resilient.īrian and Dietrich marathoned well past the AMA’s scheduled end time, fielding questions from Redditors about how the native IPFS integration works in Brave, the ways IPFS can inhibit data manipulation and censorship on the web, and future capabilities that could integrate IPFS and Basic Attention Token (BAT). IPFS, or InterPlanetary File System, is a peer-to-peer network and protocol designed to make the web faster, safer, and more open. Recently, Brave and IPFS announced a partnership, and together unveiled a native IPFS implementation in the Brave desktop browser. The AMA received 4.6K upvotes and 17 awards from Redditors, ranging from “Helpful” to “Platinum”.
#WEBTORRENT SAFE REDDIT SERIES#
The ongoing AMA series is an opportunity for our users and fans to get to know the Brave team, and, as of recently, guests from Brave’s partners.īrian Bondy, Brave ’s CTO & Co-Founder, and Dietrich Ayala, Ecosystem Lead at IPFS, participated in the latest Ask Me Anything on r/IAmA, a sub-community of Reddit (known to Redditors as “ subreddits” ) made up of over twenty million members and dedicated to interactive question-and-answer interviews (AMAs) of all varieties. Welcome to the latest post in our series of BAT Community-run AMAs.

Store Chamionship
I figured I would use my Black/Green midrange deck one last time before rotation, get a participation promo, and maybe beat some aggressive and midrange decks.
Every opponent was control or combo
I got last place
I squeaked by 2-1 against a White/Blue/Black Scarab God deck
Then went 0-2 against a mono-blue  Sai, Master Thopterist/ Paradoxical Outcome deck
Went 0-2 against a White/Blue Teferi
And went 0-2 against a White/Blue Approach
But then people stuck around for a draft and that was much more fun
Picked up a Chromium early and made a defensive Blue/Black deck
Went 2-0 against a Black/Red go wide
1-2 against a White/Red lifegain/burn
And 1-2 against a Black/Green Aura
Decklist for those interested
//Lands 7 Island 2 Plains 1 Rupture Spire 7 Swamp
//Spells 1 Abnormal Endurance 1 Blood Divination 1 Chaos Wand 1 Dwindle 1 Sovereign's Bite 1 Strangling Spores 2 Switcheroo 1 Totally Lost
//Creatures 1 Child of Night 1 Chromium, the Mutable 2 Diregraf Ghoul 1 Doomed Dissenter 1 Fell Specter 1 Gravedigger 1 Omenspeaker 1 Reassembling Skeleton 1 Salvager of Secrets 1 Supreme Phantom 2 Surge Mare 1 Two-Headed Zombie
