being a horrendously slow consumer of media is frustratingly hilarious sometimes. I want to consume fanart and read fanfics but I haven’t finished this game yet and I don’t want to spoil myself so I can’t. I love this show but I can’t look into the tags because I never got around to watching the series finale so it’s gonna be a land mine of spoilers. I haven’t watched that movie yet but when I do it’s so over for my dashboard.

These things all came out years ago. People stopped tagging their spoilers before I even picked the fandom up. I’m coming, guys, I really am, I just need to catch up to your turbo-boosted speedboat in my paddle boat with a broken oar. I’m getting there, guys, I promise-

Honestly, I also think it's gotten a little ridiculous. Like you don't have to like a pairing, that's totally fine, but the amount of negativity I've seen around them is getting a bit out of hand.

I think the moment I really started to see it was around the GMMTV 2025 line up ? So many people made predictions/hopes videos or posts and so many people were begging GMMTV to either break them up or to not give them a new show. And like once again, you can think what you want of a certain pairing but then just don't watch their stuff ? Just ignore them ? I've seen a thousand critiques like Phuwin can't kiss, they don't have chemistry anymore, they don't spend time together so clearly they're not even friends and I'm not even mentionning the delulu dating stuff (it's fine to be delulu for fun but those are not the ones I'm talking about here). But once again, no one is forcing you to follow them or watch their shows.

Also it's once again a case of people saying they're fans of Pond and Phuwin but not actually caring about them outside of their pairing. They absolutely don't seem like they want to be separated as a pair and I think in the end that's what matters (have you seen that clip of Satang saying Pond could be paired with Santa or someone else ? Pond's face looked so confused and distressed lmao my man had subs on and it was saying no thank you).

I think it all boils down to them (and especially Phuwin) not wanting to do fanservice that much or not posting that much stuff together (like Pond being the only Jasper member to not post anything with his pair on Valentine's day) but once again why should they have to ? Anyway I'm pretty sure GMMTV is never breaking them up unless they want to because their shows and events always do numbers (pretty sure their trailer for gmmtv 2025 is still the one with the most views with G4) so on that front they're probably safe.

Sorry for the super long rant but I'm just always sad to see pairs get hate for basically nothing and it has been making my blood boil lately.

emerging from a cave bc i'm scrolling thru my cindy talks tag for fun and old times but this is so funny to me that i was like this the literal year before the cw program :sob: as someone about to go to grad school for not english, i'll admit i greatly enjoyed the last two years of lit classes and i miss it a lot owo

i should be allowed to major in creative writing without taking lit classes :pensive: i know that’s illogical and that i can learn a lot from lit, but i hate it and i suck at it and PLEASE i just want to take creative writing courses and write fiction all day every day

I’m watching Sips’ play Planet Zoo and im back in 2018 watching him build Boobalee or that one train station he built for 4 hours just to destroy it. Back in the Peter Pennywhacker universe. I feel safe.

obvi I'm not defending the pondphuwin haters but I can see the kissing problem and the chemistry but then dont watch the show thats it

I cannot talk about the chemistry in We Are since I haven't seen it yet (from the gifs I've seen they look just as cute to me as they were in NLMG but what can you know just from gifs).

When it comes to the kissing, listen, maybe it's an unpopular opinion but I feel like overall in Thailand, GMMTV is the studio that's the weakest in their coaching for kissing or intimate scene anyway ? It's not just PondPhuwin. And in general they just tend to be more tame than others because GMMTV is probably the more mainstream of them and are hoping to reach a broader audience and you can't do that if your characters are raw dogging each other in episode one BOC style when it's airing at 6pm on a Wednesday. I do agree that Phuwin having his mouth closed tight doesn't make for the most aesthetic or passionate of kisses but once again, this is kind of the feel I get from GMMTV as a whole so 🤷

YESSSS!! I can finally talk about my blorbo!

honestly i mourn his pre lobotomized/predatory self, but anyways.

I think it’s important to remember that Larry and Phoenix stayed friends since middle school, which kinda had  to make them close/more comfortable around each other, even if they’re not outwardly “close”. Like they’re not the type of friends to go around  talking about their feelings or about something serious, unless it’s REALLY needed.

Also, please, Feenie and Larry were equally down bad, like those two were the same, Phoenix was just able to outgrow that with Mia’s dutiful help. 

During the seven year gap, especially in the very beginning of it, Larry actually was one of the first ones to practically push Phoenix to move on and showed his support in the most blatant way possible. I think most of his friends just took for granted the fact he usually seems to bounce right back up and gave him space to do so. While Larry did what Larry does best - be stubborn, annoying prick, with somewhat best intentions. Genuinely think it was him who found the job for Wright, before disappearing himself. 

I think it’s also funny, in a very morbid way, how all three “chose death” in their own way. Killing the old self out of shame.

Wright was PISSED after learning Larry also worked as an actor, solely because “must you tarnished all my passions??”. While mister Deauxnim was busy ghosting everyone, I’m sure Phoenix kept joking about how Larry is probably off to a law school to fully absorb all of his interests ((much to Edgeworth dismay. Although they’d agree he’d made an okay Judge… at least on par with the current one)). Larry genuinely respects Phoenix (and Edgeworth), and inspires to be at least somewhat like them. At least he wants to be someone who people can look to for support.  

And, I'm going to be honest, do you REALLY believe an amature children's author and illustrator would just stop talking to his friend, who he knows has a kid??? 

Considering he made the both Thinkers, do you think he also lended his voice to the statues? Now that’s a scary thought. 

He’s actually crazy talented, his friends are just too used to look down at him (and have him around to feel better about themselves) to admit it. 

He might be the world's worst wingman, but by God he tries. The second he clocks Edgeworth's and Wright's bullshit they're done for. He's like a ferret. Equally as annoying, sly and stinky.

Why must there be so many stories where the endings involve permanent goodbyes? What is the point of building up these beautiful interpersonal stories of love and growth, only to reach the end of a journey, where they need to lean on each other more than ever, only to decide that it's suddenly better to throw all of that away and send everyone on their separate ways? Why must the lesson always be that "nothing good lasts forever" and that "we need to learn to say our goodbyes and go our separate ways?" Why is it that, in media with a target age of children to general audiences in particular, that we have to shove in the message that hey, there's a good chance you're never gonna see your loved ones again, and you're gonna have to find ways to deal with that! But it's okay, because being on your own makes you mature!

First of all, that's not always true! In fact, I'd say it's more of a rarity for people to lose their lifelong connections! It's innate human nature to want to protect and nuture and care for others, so why is there so much media that decides that hey, you know, maybe we're better off alone! Or media that says enjoy it while it lasts! because it won't! Why is the assumption that everything is going to end? There's already so much heartbreak and gloom going on in the world and in people's personal lives, why would you want to tell your audiences that they're right to worry?

Could we not, for a moment, suspend our disbelief? If we can believe in magical realms and ghosts and fairies and dragons for the sake of the story, why can't we also believe that these characters who have spent years together in-universe are better off staying together? Why can we not believe that they can build a better life together than they ever could apart? It's unrealistic? It's unhealthy? Who cares!!! it's fictional!!! Why must we apply real life rules to fictional universes? If your entire story is about this group of characters growing together, where does the sudden desire come from to pull them apart in the end?

"But this character needs to go home! They're not from here!" Yeah, and there are ways to assure your audience that goodbyes are not permanent! There are ways to have your stories end with goodbyes and have them work out for their characters, but what's the point when those goodbyes are permanent? Can you really justify a reason other than to make the audience cry? If your plan is to eventually perma-separate these characters from the very beginning, what's the point of creating all these stories that paint them as inseperable? If it turns out that they are, in fact, seperable, then why go through all of the trouble? Why grow this love between these characters if you're just gonna shatter it completely at the end?

People are meant to be in each other's company! People are meant to be loved!!! Your peers do not exist only to help you grow and then to be disposed of, they're there to be loved!! Stop treating your characters and your stories like they're perfectly disposable!!!

i'm so happy for mark pakin and his main role he deserves it so hopefully it will be good and popular

I'm hoping so too ! I've been waiting for him to get a lead role for what feels like ages (I know people tend to say Only Friends was a main role for him but I don't really agree since BostonNick very much didn't feel like the main couple and got less screentime than the rest). He has already said on live that he doesn't really care about the trending and the X talk every week which is sweet of him, but since it seems like GMMTV cares I hope people will still be talking about it so they see that people were waiting for it to happen.

yeah ok let’s get into this! i understand where you’re coming from anon but i actually did have a more nuanced take on this i just hadn’t posted about yet so here it is

i really do appreciate the fact that they kept the nature of their relationship vague, and people can read it as romantic or platonic if they want. to me it read very flirty but i can see how others might not subscribe to that too!

plus it’s less of a “need” to do that and more the fact that shipping and romance are just what i happen to be passionate about?? and what i have the most fun with?? i’m not gonna Not Do the thing that’s most fun for me just because other people might not engage with the play the same way, that’s ludicrous.

also as if people immediately stop being able to be strong or their own people once they enter romantic relationships?? as if tadius would impede her in that?? her story is still about her becoming The Queen. i very much doubt that she would suddenly become “weaker” or less able to live her own life just because they were together, nor did i ever insinuate that

basically you can engage with it however you want anon and i agree that it’s important and worth celebrating that we have a play with a female lead where she doesn’t explicitly end up with anyone romantically!! that’s great and i really do love that!!

but also i just like romance and maybe it’s fine that that was the first very brief thing i said about the play on this one particular platform, because i never said it was my only feeling or thought about it 🙄
