i've realized the best response to my "i have small hands and it drives me crazy as a knitter" issue is to get circular needles and just. use them like regular needles, pretend that's what they are. because they're shorter than normal needles so they work better for my tiny hands. it also solves the "i am a chronic loser of small things" issue because the needles are literally attached to each other with plastic wire.

i saw a poll from @comfortabletextiles about people's opinions on DPNs, and wanted to make a similar one about circular knitting needles!
personally i am a circs enthusiast and haven't used any other kind of needles for several years.

Debating getting circular needles to try to knit socks once again.... I tried first on DPNs because a teacher had them spare and gave them to me lol very sweet <3 but I really tried and failed managing all the needles... circular seems to be a bit easier?

I've been wanting to try these short, bendable circular sock needles since I first saw them last year. Cost prohibitive. Recently came across a knockoff brand online. Surprisingly good quality. Nice finish, good cable, decent joins. These are fun to use.
Sock is Cascade sport and will be nice house socks for the husband.

Tbh, the worst part about knitting a jumper top down is not sleeve island, and it is not working out how many increases to do for the yoke and it is not the three miles of stockinette stitch for the body of the jumper.
It is getting to the part where you need to change up a cable size and having to put everything down while you go to dig out the project that's currently using that cable and swapping it.

Well, I mentioned that I was going to possibly start sharing creations from my hobbies. I am currently working on a facecloth while the puppy sleeps. Once that's done, I'm going to make a few more for some friends, possibly using a different pattern.
I love the subtle hints of color scattered throughout this yarn. Not sure if I'm going to keep the set this is a part of or gift it yet, but either way I think it's simple and pretty.

If lunacy is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results then I am certified, because each row of running stitch I do I expect it to look even and not take forever, and at the end of every row, I think about how much more even and faster it would have been to do on the sewing machine, and then I mark out the next row and I pick back up my massive wool needle….
Nearly there though! Just a week later than hoped. There are some hindsight options I would take if I ever do this again but I’ll save them for the finished item.

Made a cowl scarf for my partner. Too lazy to link but the pattern is the bandana cowl from purl Soho. Took about a day and a half to make.

Chose the one variety of this yarn only stocked in one store in my area that is an hour drive away. Ordering online means paying as much shipping as the yarn costs.
