Hughie knows how it must look. A tall guy in a hoodie, approaching a girl on her own in the middle of the night. A girl that's clearly in distress. Add into the mix that he's a vampire and the horror story practically writes itself- so long as you leave out Hughie's good intentions and the fact that he doesn't feed off of humans. There's a high chance of her running the moment he gets close, which would be valid.

Despite knowing this, he still approaches. Pulls his hood down so that it doesn't look like he's about to mug her. "Um..." He clears his throat, staying at a good distance so that she won't feel threatened. "Are you okay?"

The very first thing she did when Annie walked into the room was walk right over to her friend and wrap her arms around her. What Firecracker had exposed on live television would have been enough to make anyone march right onto that stage and rip her apart. Every day they seemed to have a new tactic to rip Annie and her supporters apart and it wasn't fair. She pulled back from her friend, fingers tapping against her phone screen.

Are you okay?

Her free hand reached out to take her friend by the arm and usher her to sit down. No doubt her adrenaline was still pumping from kicking Firecracker's ass on live television.

There's a disquiet between them. A distance that Hughie doesn't yet know how to breach. It's present now, even as he's wrapped up around her, every available limb ensconsing her form. Listening to her breathing, taking in the scent of her hair. He doesn't know how to start. He's afraid that whatever he'll say will widen the distance, not bridge it. He feels her stir and he presses a kiss to her shoulder, a silent good morning and wonders what the day will hold for them both.

the renowned jedi knight managed to save people from the nearby wreckage, using a mixture of his proficiency with the force & his lightsaber. the morning after, he went to check up on one of those he had saved. “ finally, you're awake! Kimiko never had the luxury of having best friends with whom she could spend time with and do girl things like drink wine and gossip or cliched doing each other's hair and nails. No, her day-to-day life had consisted of violence and doing what it took to survive to see the next day...even if that meant seeing more bloodshed. She'd spent so much time with the boys lately and you could only imagine being around that masculine energy. Brown eyes looked to Annie for inspiration, hoping she had an idea as to what it meant to hang out and just be girlfriends together.
